The latest offering from VERUTA, "Forked Tongue of Fire," is a scorching and intense journey through the depths of black metal from a non-traditional stance. With blistering and bleak guitar riffs to haunting synth and thunderous percussion. Mutating between heavy and atmospheric passages, every moment of this album is filled with unrelenting fury and raw emotion.
The lyrics delve into themes of betrayal, death and the dark side of the human condition, as well as tales of mythical beasts all conveyed through the signature snarling and seething vocal delivery that VERUTA is known for. The production on "Forked Tongue of Fire" is a serious step up from the “Criterion Void” demo, allowing every instrument to shine through with clarity and power.
Each track builds upon the last to create a cohesive and immersive listening experience. Drawing atmospheric inspiration from the great Pacific Northwest and sonic inspiration from early Emperor, Bathory and Leviathan to name a few, “Forked Tongue Of Fire” gives a unique perspective on a genre that is typically closed off.
Fans of traditional black metal and those looking for something new and exciting in the genre will find much to enjoy here.
