DRACONIAN RELEASE VIDEO FOR "SLEEPWALKERS"

PRESS RELEASE:

With today’s release of their fifth single, “Sleepwalkers”, legendary Swedish doom/gothic metal masters DRACONIAN mark the apex cut from their upcoming studio album, Under A Godless Veil, out this Friday October 30, 2020 via Napalm Records.

Along with an atmospheric conceptualized music video that epitomizes the essence of the five-piece in the most beautiful manner, Sweden’s DRACONIAN lure the sleepwalkers and insomniacs of this world into their fragile soundscapes: Made of atmospheric gothic doom, contrasting darkness and light, heaviness and weightlessness as well as soft intermezzos with smashing screams, “Sleepwalkers” embodies another highlight of the breathtaking, seventh full-length.

To be released exactly five years after DRACONIAN’s latest album, Sovran, Under A Godless Veil not only demonstrates another masterpiece that proves the unit to rightly be on top of the genre, but is a manifest of their productive partnership with Napalm Records as well. This longtime collaboration started with the first studio album, Where Lovers Mourn (2003), and has now reached its provisional pinnacle with the seventh epos and second with the talented Heike Langhans on vocal duties.

Singer Heike Langhans comments on “Sleepwalkers”:

“My heartsong of the album. Like a graceful requiem to ourselves, “Sleepwalkers” perfectly encapsulates the sentiments of a lost and weary soul. Subtle, yet a rallying cry - fast becoming my favourite DRACONIAN song to date.”

Under a Godless Veil delivers a captivating mélange of dreary doom and contrasting vocals. The first notes of the opener will immediately draw the listener into a void of interweaving beauty, coalescing with paralyzing depression that leaves nothing but the desire of total immersion in the whole record. Under a Godless Veil carries the legacy of gothic doom metal à la My Dying Bride into a new decade of the genre.

DRACONIAN states:

“To DRACONIAN, Under a Godless Veil is by far the most diverse album we have created. Inspired by some of the music closest to Johan’s heart; everything from traditional Doom to scaled-down, Gothic rock-inspired pieces and more. Some will perhaps describe the songs as more refined and meditative. Some ambient elements have been added to the mix without overshadowing the traditional characteristics that are DRACONIAN.

Resonating with the compositions, Anders’s lyrical direction is ambiguous and a progression of the first two-three albums, yet more subtle while embracing the Gnostic philosophy more directly. One could say Under a Godless Veil is an act of contemplation; About living and dying and remembering who we are in a strange, abrasive world far from home.“

4. Sleepwalkers

SACRED REICH RELEASE VIDEO FOR "SOMETHING TO BELIEVE"

PRESS RELEASE:

Last year, Sacred Reich released their first record in twenty-three years: Awakening. Now, the band has launched a new video for the album track, "Something to Believe", which can be viewed here: youtu.be/jNNCSWW4OF0

Sacred Reich comments: "With the uncertainty that we are all experiencing, we think it's time for Something To Believe."

Awakening showcases everything a fan would expect and hope for from the Phoenix, Arizona unit: a timeless collection comprised of blistering thrash, crushing grooves, meticulous solos, and socially conscious lyrics. The return of Dave McClain, who manned the drum throne from 1991 to 1997, and the addition of twenty-two-year old guitarist Joey Radziwill, alongside original members guitarist Wiley Arnett and vocalist/bassist Phil Rind, are integral facets of the record. Awakening was produced by Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Cavalera Conspiracy), engineered by John Aquilino, and mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Faith No More, Halford, Armored Saint). To preview and purchase Awakening, please visit: metalblade.com/sacredreich

"a steady campaign of mouth-watering riffs and shout-out choruses" - Metal Hammer

"prove they're just as heavy and furious as ever…a gritty, sludgy take that pushes the confines of thrash itself for a highly unique and fist-pounding experience." - Revolver

"while some contemporary maniacs might roll their eyes at the concept of Buddhist thrash, one listen to 'Awakening's burly, old-school sound will have them along for the ride" - Kerrang!

"If there ever was a band that needed to return, it's them. As an album, 'Awakening' lives up to its title in every conceivable way. In both content and form. There will always darkness before the dawn, and Sacred Reich provides the soundtrack to a hopeful future." - Metal Injection

"Sacred Reich have released one of the best albums in their career in freaking 2019" - MetalStorm.net

CULT BURIAL RELEASE "DETHRONER" VIDEO

PRESS RELEASE:

London's CULT BURIAL have teamed up with Moshpit Nation to release their video for Dethroner. The song is from their upcoming self-titled album which will be released on November 6th.

Watch the video: https://www.moshpitnation.com/video-premiere-cult-burial-dethroner/

Pre-order the album: https://cultburial.bandcamp.com/

Rarely does an extreme metal band drop out of nowhere with a fully formed sound, and yet Cult Burial do just that. While their name may imply another group hopping on the dime-a-dozen OSDM revival trend, this London group quickly show that there is a lot more than meets the eye on their self-titled début, coming hot off the back of a well-received two-track EP.

The smooth sepulchral blend flits across the spectrum; while ostensibly a modern black/death metal outfit, Cult Burial have no qualms about incorporating the crushing low-end of doom metal and post-metal. Other individual tracks branch out even further from the formula - lead single “Moribund” draws from old school death metal’s HM2-drenched tremolo, while “Plague” and “Chaos” stretch into progressive territory and showcase a real strength in dynamic songwriting - not a moment is wasted.

Aside from the songwriting, the execution of each track is magnificent. Simon Langofrd's composition pairs effortlessly with César Moreira's varied vocal delivery - potent growls and twisted snarls collide with the daring range of styles employed, from the hefty groove in opener “Dethroner” reminiscent of Belphegor to the full black/death/doom amalgamation that rounds out “Sorrow”. The lyrics, which eschew the expected Satan-worshipping traits, instead turn inward and speak on topics related to death and a sense of purpose (or a lack thereof) in captivating detail.

Despite having only two tracks to their name prior to this release, Cult Burial have already begun to build a name for themselves - No Clean Singing pegged “Sorrow” as “further proof that Cult Burial is a band to watch closely”, and it won’t be long before this album starts turning heads and causing a stir.

DELUGE RELEASE VIDEO FOR "DIGUE"

PRESS RELEASE:

On November 6th, France's Déluge will release their sophomore album, Ægo Templo, via Metal Blade Records. For a preview of the record, a video for the new single, "Digue" (directed by VCR), can be viewed at: youtu.be/eXGnDJV-OwY

Déluge comments: "We see life as a perpetual battle with your inner self, and 'Digue' (dike, breakwater) symbolizes that constant fight to stay in the bright side of life. To win this battle, we feel the necessity to embrace the dark part of it, in order to see every little glow in the darkness slowly becoming a strong flame, the need to change our perception to eventually see beauty where it is. But it is a curse and a deep weakness not being able to see beauty otherwise. The different scenes in the music video play with these emotions and the battles you fight with yourself, trying to keep yourself into the light."

The previously released single, "Opprobre", can be heard at: metalblade.com/deluge - where Ægo Templo can also be pre-ordered in the following formats:

- digipak-CD

- 180g black vinyl (EU exclusive)

- blue / white / black marbled vinyl (EU exclusive - limited to 300 copies)

- white vinyl (EU exclusive - limited to 200 copies)

- gold / black dust vinyl (Kings Road exclusive - limited to 100 copies)

- gold vinyl (US exclusive)

France has long been a fertile breeding ground for black metal, and one of its best kept secrets is Déluge, who have been kicking up a blend of that genre and post-hardcore since 2014. Dropping their debut full-length Æther in 2015, in 2020 they return with sophomore effort Ægo Templo, a more accessible record that pushes their sound in ever more imaginative directions. "I wanted to go further into something more 'easy to listen to', but I really did not want to lose what we had, that melancholia and the essence of our music," states founding guitarist François-Thibaut Hordé. "It was a very interesting - and exhausting - challenge, and to me we have succeeded. We are really proud of this new record."

Produced by François-Thibaut with assistance from engineers Thibault Chaumont/Deviant Lab studio (Igorrr, Carpenter Brut, Birds in Row) - who also mixed and mastered the album - and Amaury Sauvé / The Apiary studio who recorded the drums, Ægo Templo marks a bold step forward from their earlier recorded output. Featuring clean vocals on almost every track, keyboards and additional instruments on several songs, plus soprano saxophone on "Opprobre", this new offering separates Déluge from their contemporaries, all the while maintaining their identity.

The band also turned to Valnoir from Metastazis Studio in Paris to once again design their artwork, and they asked several artists to guest on the record: Tetsuya Fukagawa of Japanese Screamo legends Envy adds vocals to "Gloire Au Silence"; Matthieu Metzger provides saxophone on "Opprobre"; and Hélène Muesser contributes vocals on "Abysses", "Ægo Templo" and "Digue" - all helping to add further depths to the music.

Ægo Templo track-listing

1. Soufre

2. Opprobre

3. Abysses

4. Fratres

5. Gloire Au Silence

6. Ægo Templo

7. Baïne

8. Digue

9. Béryl

10. Vers

Even in these uncertain times, what comes next for Déluge is clear - their goals are undeniable: "We want to be touring as much as we can, spreading our bright music as much as we can, and going much further than the metal scene can offer us."

After Ægo Templo's release, Déluge will head out on the road with label-mates Igorrr for a tour of France and Switzerland in December. See below for all dates!
