We're excited to present "Between the Strains," a brand-new, standalone EP recorded in late 2023! The two new songs are the first to include new rhythm guitarist Theo Romeo (Necrosophik Abyss), and were mixed and mastered by Zach Ohren.

Lead track, “Between the Strains,” is a high-speed, blast-driven black metal track, and is accompanied by a montage video composed of clips from the aforementioned tour. B-side, “Monument Impermanent,” is a more progressive, death-metal influenced song that hints at where the band is headed for the next album.

In addition to the limited 7", we also made an even more limited cd version, which includes our cover of "Ghost Dance," originally recorded by Death Cult... an early incarnation of rock legends The Cult.

Originally formed in 2019 under the longer moniker, Troglorot, Trog’s current line up solidified in late 2021 when TJ Coon (guitar) joined the ranks of Hudson Barth (drums), Dan Erdenberger (guitar/bass) and Pete Colucci (vocals). The band independently released its first EP as a four-piece, titled ‘Of Vomit Reborn’, to great acclaim on July 22, 2022.

Two years later, Trog aims to set the bar even higher with their debut full-length, ‘Horrors Beyond’, to be released on June 28th, 2024. The album expands upon the groove-oriented blend of twisted death metal and relentless thrash displayed on ‘Of Vomit Reborn’, seeing the band double down on neck-breaking riffage while incorporating flourishes of icy black metal melody. ‘Horrors Beyond’ was entirely engineered and mixed by drummer Hudson Barth, mastered by the legendary Colin Marston and features profoundly grotesque artwork from emerging Canadian visual artist Emile Roy.

The album’s 34-minute runtime spans seven otherworldly tracks, ranging lyrically from interdimensional organ trafficking to the methodical obliteration of advanced ancient civilizations, and features guest appearances from William Smith (Afterbirth, Reeking Aura) and Kurtis Layne (Castrator, live)

In this third release of the French dungeon synth duo, we travel to medieval France. At its core, this album firmly represents Arcanist's signature Berlin School sound, but it is much more than that. Averoígne explores aspects of medieval music and folk instrumentation. Guitars, lutes, mandolin are peppered with live percussion, drum set and even spoken word. As the title suggests, the music's inspiration is taken from the Averoigne stories of the American fantasy writer Clark Ashton Smith. The album concludes with the epic masterpiece The Colossus of Ylourgne in two parts, clocking in at almost 15 minutes each. The grandeur and scope of this album truly transcends any classification, and it will surely take the listener on a rich and unforgettable journey of the imagination.

Heralds proclaim the arrival of the lord Diocletian, the unconquered sun. In his mercy and condescension he wills to present himself to his earthbound slaves and set to rights their disordered lives. All are summoned to the festivities of his advent. Winter is transformed into spring, the entire population celebrates. But as the carnival progresses the mask begins to slip and the jubilation gives way to horror. The operation of state power is revealed as it takes recourse to its habitual means: the public spectacle of torture and death. The promised restoration of paradise on earth becomes instead an image of hell until the emperor, satiated with the blood of his slaves departs to the next city, determined to impose order on his recalcitrant subjects by the only means at his disposal: the stake and the breaking wheel.
