PATH OF DESTINY RELEASE "THE SEED OF ALL EVIL"

PRESS RELEASE:

It is one of the most significant questions of mankind: Where is the origin for all this misery that we must face all day everyday? There might never be a clear answer in response to this, because it is an interplay between many factors and we ourselves have a lot of points of contact with them. There is the institutionalization of spirituality by so-called religions, who are just aiming for more power in the end. And there is our own intellect who is overestimated far too often to allow us to deceive ourselves.

Five years after “Dreams In Splendid Black”, PATH OF DESTINY return with a new album, which again needed a long ripening process. That’s why it presents the German melodic death metal outfit more diverse and more mature than ever before. All ten songs on “The Seed Of All Evil” feature an ominous character, because they mirror the society in a way that makes it even impossible to take a close look into the mirror itself. The anthemic opener ‘The Division Of A Spiral Synergy’ immediately shows the strengths of the band: melodies that are there to stay and a thrilling heaviness. The midtempo track ‘Erased By Light’ battles its way through darkness in an epic manner, while ‘Endbringer’ is a blast beat driven speed attack. The furious ‘March Of The Antichrist’ lives up to its name and creates a pitch black atmosphere.

PATH OF DESTINY’s third creation “The Seed Of All Evil” contains all necessary tools to make it one of the melodic death metal jewels of 2021.

SOPHIST RELEASE "METABOLIC CHASM..."

PRESS RELEASE:

Sophistry – noun – the use of clever but false arguments, especially with the intention of deceiving.

There is no deceiving with Edmonton, Canada’s SOPHIST, however, the trio of Michael K. Sparks (bass/guitar), Davis R. Hay (programming/vocals), Helge Lipphardt (guitar) are straightforward in their approach to grinding black metal.

Conjured in June of 2019 by Hay and Sparks, SOPHIST dove straight into recording their debut EP “Betrothal To The Stone: Conception of Mephisto”. Immediately after release, they started production on a follow up record and recruited Lipphardt for additional guitars and writing input.

The trio keeps the writing process simple, with Hay defining the drums and song structure followed by Lipphardt and Sparks’ overlay of bass and guitar. It is then blended with vocals, synths, and a nod to 70s, 80s & 90s production. Hay's pessimistic lyrics focus on occult themes & alchemical allegory, & more recently on working class exploitation & other societal ills. in the studio, SOPHIST transmutes these elements into blisteringly fast, flavorful black grind.

In November 2019 they signed with Niflhel Records to release their first full-length album, “Dissolution”, which was released on February 7th 2020 on CD, LP, and all digital platforms. A follow-up album, "Putrid Faction", was released on December 1st 2020.

Available now for bandcamp users. Officially releases on all platforms August 13th.

METABOLIC CHASM...... is a collaboration between Davis Hay and Tsunami Nagasaki (of Beaver Fever). Tsunami previously did a guest vocal spot on our album DISSOLUTION - but for this single, she handled the guitars and the bass, whille Davis handled production, vocals, and some additional guitar. Tsunami came up with some chunky parts for this track. We used heavy tape saturation and delay, bringing a lo-fi tape & vinyl sound. This one has way more death and grind aspects than some of our previous stuff, and some weird primitive heavy metal tinges topping it all off. The cover art was done by alkoholterus, the same artist for the PUTRID FACTION cover art. The title refers to the rift between humanity and nature perpetuated by the wage system. METABOLIC CHASM...... is available for free right now (July 16th) on bandcamp, and everywhere else on August 13th.

Stay tuned, there will be more material soon with Michael and Helge back in the studio!

INSOMNIUM RELEASE NEW SINGLE: "THE ANTAGONIST"

PRESS RELEASE:

Finnish melodic death metal pioneers INSOMNIUM present their new single "The Antagonist" and announce the release of the "Argent Moon” EP, which will be released worldwide on September 17th, 2021 via Century Media Records. Like the previously released singles – “The Conjurer“ and “The Reticent“ – “The Antagonist“ is one of the four songs which will be featured on this EP.

Watch the video for “The Antagonist” HERE

Frontman Niilo Sevänen about how the “Argent Moon” EP came to be:

"When the Corona outbreak forced us to cancel all the tours and shows, we pretty soon adopted a mindset that we better do something and keep ourselves in motion. We wanted to try how the streaming shows might work. We wanted to see what kind of new music might grow in the darkness and misery of the quarantine. And soon these vibes were channeled into songs that came to be the “Argent Moon” EP.

We wanted to try something a bit different so all the four songs on this release represent the softer side of Insomnium. The ballads and the mellow tunes. Acoustic guitars and clean vocals. The sorrow and agony that creeps into your heart when the nights grow longer. But fear not, we haven't changed our style. Next album will be something different again. We used all the ballad ideas here so maybe it will be pure blast beats. We shall see.

The “The Antagonist” video is something new and fresh too, since we worked with director & mastermind Ville Lipiäinen for the first time ever. The result is a bit different kind of Insomnium montage."

The “Argent Moon” EP will be available in various formats and can be pre-ordered below as of now!

THE VERY END RELEASE "ZEITGEIST"

PRESS RELEASE:

Hailing from the heart of the infamous Ruhr-Area, THE VERY END have always been a wayward bunch. No categories, no boundaries, not your standard heavy metal game. Even after more than seven years since the release of their last album "Turn Off The World", this has not changed a single bit. No, the five-piece shows itself stronger and more unique than ever before - with a new line up and a brand-new album: "Zeitgeist"!

Exploring extremes has never been a goal of THE VERY END, but somehow "Zeitgeist" is the band's most extreme album to date. From spitting-with-rage thrashers like ‘Light The Lows’ or the title track to pounding, death metal infected grooves like ‘From Boon To Bane’ or ‘The Day It All Went Black’ to the catchy rocking chorus of ‘On Parole’ or the epic broadness of ‘Until There's Nothing Left Of Us’ - "Zeitgeist" proves that the song matters more than any cliches or expectations. The fresh spirit that comes along with the new members Jerome Reil on drums and Marc Bräutigam on guitar is truly notable in the acoustic cornucopia that "Zeitgeist" really is – without losing the DNA of THE VERY END's trademarks!

The lyrics are like a dance on broken glass with bare feet. But while you could still catch a far-off rainbow somewhere on the horizon on THE VERY END’s former albums, the only color on "Zeitgeist" might be the crimson red on the floor that is running from your nose after the relentlessness of these tracks rolled all over you.

With the help of Cornelius Rambadt (Bonded, Disbelief, Sodom…), the band produced the album by themselves while Dennis Koehne (Caliban, Lacuna Coil, Melechesh, Orden Ogan…) took care of mastering duties. The result is a varied sound that is able to support all the different nuances within the songs. Singer Björn Gooßes (Aborted, Circle II Circle, Motorjesus ,The Crown…) himself created the artwork that is at the same time true to the aesthetic of the former albums but also able to transport THE VERY END’s attitude in 2021: Daring and uncompromising but still focused on the song, open minded and contemporary but still metal to the bone.

"Zeitgeist" tracklist:

1.Teratoma 02:16

2.Light The Lows 03:56

3.On Parole 04:37

4.Zeitgeist 04:00

5.Truth & Tremor 03:55

6.Short Cuts Deep Wounds 03:55

7.Brave New Blood 04:10

8.Anechoic 03:54

9.The Day It All Went Black 04:00

XENOSIS RELEASE "PARALELLED EXISTENCE"

PRESS RELEASE:

Xenosis

Paralleled Existence

Self-Released

1 October 2021

Seasoned progressive/technical death metallers Xenosis are excited to announce their upcoming fourth full-length, Paralleled Existence. Set for release on Friday, October 1st.

Active since 2009, the Wallingford, Connecticut band has always sought to up their game in the studio and live and expand their sound with every new release. Although still an independent band, Xenosis has made waves in the progressive/technical death metal scene beginning with their 2nd album, Sowing The Seeds Of Destruction. Which was released in 2015, and continuing into the present, most recently with the release of their highly praised 3rd album, Devour and Birth.

Fast-forward to 2021, and the band's upcoming album, Paralleled Existence, runs parallel to the bands biggest line-up shift in years, with the band adding a more groove/progressive music influenced second guitarist Keith Benway as well as new bassist, backing vocalist Craig Breitsprecher of Fires in the Distance (Prosthetic Records) fame who also previously played with Xenosis guitarist Kenny Bullard in the tech-death group Formless. New blood in the ranks has paid off, and Paralleled Existence sees the group moving away from being purely a tech-death act, as they lean into their increased groove and progressive focuses to craft a new updated sound this time around.

The result of the group's latest sonic evolution still feels like Xenosis, a group known for their keen ability to mix old and new, primitive and complex, groove-heavy and blazing fast, into a swirling maelstrom of their own invention. Xenosis - Paralleled Existence is the work of a band redefining themselves once more to admirable effect.

Xenosis - Paralleled Existence will strongly appeal to fans of Death, Martyr, Meshuggah, Blotted Science, Obscura, The Faceless, and Morbid Angel.

Xenosis comment:

"We feel that Paralleled Existence is our best effort yet and our most well rounded. We achieved a unique blend of brutality, technicality, groove, and progressive elements on this release in a new way that is new for us. The addition of new members for sure played a big role in how this album sounds different than the last one."
