PRESS RELEASE:

Bakken - "This Means War"

Self-released

DIGITAL | CD

Power/Thrash/NWOBHM from Ireland

BAKKEN hail from the Emerald Isle and they bring their own brand of thrashy-power metal!

With our politically charged lyrics, thundering double kick drums and relentless energy, we aim to spread our message of positivity, peace and respect for our all living things. So grab a beer and celebrate the glory of heavy metal with us!

Bakken quickly amassed a loyal following thanks to the incredibly positive press attention gained worldwide from the debut album “Death Of A Hero” including being listed by a Metal Rules.com reviewer as 'Best New Band' for 2012. The band's tight and energetic live performances got them established on the live circuit ultimately headlining their own shows, supporting bands such as Hell, Doug Aldrich and Tim "Ripper" Owens and touring in Holland with fellow classic metallers Lord Volture in 2015.

With a fresh new line-up boosted by Frank Levi’s soaring power metal style vocals, Shaun Nelson’s (Attica Rage/Ironheart) blistering solos and Thomas Alford’s (Tim Ripper Owens/Sandstone) progressive bass lines, BAKKEN ARE BAKK with a vengeance in 2020 with their epic new full length album “This Means War”, which Metal Gods TV describe as a “thumping journey of intense heavy metal..a forty minute thunderstorm of epic proportions 9/10”.

For fans of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica and Helloween.

IMPERISHABLE (FEAT. NILE´S BRIAN KINGSLAND) RELEASE SINGLE + VIDEO FOR "EXCLUSION CONTINUUM"

PRESS RELEASE:

IMPERISHABLE is a brand new extreme metal band out of South Carolina. Created by NILE guitarist Brian Kingsland, they are off to a solid start with plans to release the EP “Revelation In Purity”(release date to be determined). Before presenting the final cut, the band is introducing themselves with their debut single, “Exclusion Continuum”. The track is dark, aggressive and catches the overall feel of the forthcoming EP, which summons riffs molded around power rather than flash. No overthinking, just pure unadulterated metal.

Joined by Alex Rush (bass) and Tommy Harrison (drums), the trio is determined to deliver ferocious material while retaining memorable hooks. Grinding, yet, groovy this mindset allows the group to focus on what inspires them; head banging compositions.

When asked what fans can expect from them, Kingsland responds: “If you enjoy lots of technical wanky guitar, overly polished production; you won’t enjoy this record. This album will be more old school and raw. Topics lean heavily on self-confidence and strength in one’s beliefs. We shred, but only when it fits the composition. This band is all about the riffs and songwriting.”

Recommended for fans of Angelcorpse, Emperor, and Obituary, Imperishable is getting your attention with a swift kick in the teeth!

The single is available for download on Bandcamp: https://imperishable.bandcamp.com/releases

The release of their debut EP will be announced at later date.

AMONG PHANTOMS RELEASE "MEMORIES / CATASTROPHES"

PRESS RELEASE:

AMONG PHANTOMS - "Memories/Catastrophes"

DiGiDi | Release: 1/10/2020

Metallic Hardcore from Denmark

Assembled in 2016 By Lars Raun Petersen (LEVIATHANS OCEAN), Rene Holmboe (ex- BERSÆRK) and then-guitarist Marrtin Rylander, Aarhus saw a new player on the local music scene. The newly formed band eyed hardcore punk and two-step as the center of their musical vision, albeit with a strong focus on melody and big, catchy choruses. Later in 2017 Mads Trebbien (EIGENGRAU, MISOPHONIA, PUPPET ARMS) and James Amstutz joined the band on guitar and bass respectively. The newly completed lineup started writing tracks, drawing inspiration from diverse acts such as Dillinger Escape Plan, Burst, Refused, He Is Legend, Periphery and the like.

Among Phantoms recorded a self-titled EP in 2018, released this in conjunction with a video for the lead track “Breaking Point”. The EP received critical acclaim and a raid on bar, club and festival stages near and far soon followed, including a warm-up spot for melodic death metal mainstays, Aphyxion. After pummeling live audiences with equal amounts of swing and aggression, the band once again focused their attention on songwriting and commenced planning their debut album for release in Spring 2020.

In Summer 2019 the band entered Finland Studio to lay down drums with producer Mads Trebbien. Deciding to draw on the readily available “in-house” production skills of guitarist Mads Trebbien, the band proceeded to track vocals, guitars and bass at his home studio. A single release and lyric video - “Breathe You In” - was released in the fall of 2019 as an early warning shot of the new material yet to come.

During recording Marrtin Rylander chose to leave Among Phantoms and the band was left as a four-piece while finishing up the album. Originally a guitarist, James Amstutz filled the vacant spot and the band tapped local bass player Anders S. Mikkelsen (WRATH OF BELIAL, DEATH COMES PALE) to fill in on low end duties. With a fresh set of ears in their arsenal and once again a solid five-piece, the band eyed album completion with a projected release for spring 2020, only to see the global Covid-19 pandemic push back the release until fall 2020.

Andreas Linnemann was chosen to master the final product - an album featuring seven tracks written, recorded and mixed by the band with Mads Trebbien controlling the knobs and sliders. The cohesive end-product delivers a mixture of easy-listening ballads, fierce, aggressive two-step bangers, thunderous, grooving head-bobbers, as well as the occasional odd-meter riff to keep even the most experienced rhythm- conscious mosher on their toes.

STITCHED UP RELEASE "X2Y" SINGLE + TEASER

PRESS RELEASE:

Austin, Texas metallic trio, Stitched Up released the single “X2Y” via all streaming platforms. The song is the fifth single release from their upcoming sophomore album Jupiter Jazz And The Suicide Cult.

Matthew MacMorran executes super charged, revved up riffs similar to early Clutch, perfect for the intensity of Vincent Price’s driving and killing in the teaser video. Rom Gov pounds the drums hard and steady, keeping the song’s intense flow. Chris Rogers guttural emissions convey the song’s frustration and anger.

“X2Y” is a grim realization of being caught in the nonstop party life style with drugs combined with a chaotic state of mind. Many people never escape it and go until they lose everything including themselves. X represents the horizontal (ecstasy) and Y represents vertical (reasons why) with both meeting at the center of the system known as the origin (oneself). They both intersect each other’s axis at zero (nothing). In other words, the cycle is a circle and the circle is a cycle that never ends.

The song contains a sample from Vincent Price in the film The Last Man on Earth. Price dies calling everybody freaks as a representation of how we view the world when we are our lowest. It’s a metaphor of feeling like we are the last human on earth with nobody to understand us.

Stitched Up also include a teaser video of the song containing grind house-style footage from The Last Man on Earth. Vincent Price killing vampires while they are sleeping as he is searching for a cure to humanity is an allegory to how we search the earth. We have many different ways to find peace with ourselves, but only find ourselves running around in circles. The footage is also an homage to the master of horror and old school grind house movies.

DEATH OF A DRYAD RELEASE "HAMELN"

PRESS RELEASE:

French atmospheric dark metal duo Death of a Dryad sets December 3rd, 2020 as the international release date for their 2nd full-length album "Hameln"!

Hameln is a concept album loosely based on the Pied Piper of Hamelin, and suggests a succession of musical scenes.

The story takes its roots from an old medieval legend, from which the oldest reference dates back to the XVth century, and recounts facts from 1284.

An array of ancient instruments were used to create a dark medieval atmosphere suitable for this story, emphasizing the flute, common thread throughout the album.

Hameln starts at a crucial turning point, when the city is being freed from a rodent infestation, and the Piper is betrayed by his kin.

Every song depicts a different part of the story from the Piper’s point of view who, as nature’s herald, is torn between his will to save mankind and the sentence he has come to deliver.

More than a simple story, Hameln is a metaphor for a nature overexploited by man, that will ultimately be his undoing: the children’s death symbolizes the destruction of the future of mankind.

The Piper knows he has to kill the children to restore a balance destroyed by man, blinded by thirst for power and greed, endless plundering the Earth with no consideration for its well-being.

Every song follows Robert Browning’s poem The Pied Piper, and the audio extracts are read by Robert Hardy.

Tracklisting:

01. Enter the Piper

02. Hameln

03. Apud Omnes Hostes

04. Moths to a Flame

05. Left to Die

06. Requiem (Project Pitchfork cover)

07. Freedom Lies

Death of a Dryad is an atmospheric dark metal duo from France, whose universe mixes metal riff s with atmospheric ambiances.

Death of a Dryad musical style creates dark, melancholic and sometimes apocalyptical atmospheres inspired by the fatalist awareness of the dereliction of our world and the loss of our bounds with nature. Their musical style ranges from grievous metal to nostalgic medieval tunes, blending old musical instruments ‐ such as psaltery, hurdy‐gurdy, Renaissance recorder or flute ‐ to electric guitars and drums.

Lyrics complete the music to create very personal and arousing songs depicting a decaying universe of lost hope and old legends. Their self‐titled debut album was released in February 2014 on Dark Faery Records and Seventh Crow Records labels, and received positive reviews from several magazines like Orkus, Obsküre or Sonic Seducer, and webzines.

In 2015, they released a cover of the song Dead Souls from Joy Division on the tribute Touching From a Distance (TSC Records / Seventh Crow Records).

In March 2016, they recorded two new songs that were mixed and mastered by Patrick Damiani at Tidalwave Studio (Sopor Aeternus, Falkenbach). They would be included, along with Dead Souls, in their EP “Blight”, released on Dark Faery Records on June 30th, 2016.

In 2018, Death of a Dryad starts working on a new concept album revolving around the Pied Piper of Hamelin. Composing takes time for Death of a Dryad: time to live stories they want to tell, to share feelings felt, and above all, to feel the urge again to transform the harshness of life into music so they can share it with others.

The duo is composed of vocalist / guitarist Nogh who also played in Obnoxious, and bassist / flutist Carol who played with Necroblaspheme. They also both play in the metal band Mind Imperium.
