RE-ARMED RELEASE "XX" EP

PRESS RELEASE:

Re-Armed celebrates their 20th anniversary with a special EP, titled XX. The EP contains two new songs, one fully re-produced, re-recorded, and re-armed form of the demo song, “Morrow,” (first demo, originally released in 2002) now renamed as “Tomorrow,” acoustic version of “Beyond the Horizon” (from the last album), and two special versions: from the previously released “Evolve Cycle” as an arcade version and “Ode to Life” as an orchestral version. All the tracks come with videos (available on YouTube). The EP arrived on all the major streaming platforms via Inverse Records on 27 Jan 2022.

Hailing from Kerava, Finland, Re-Armed has been around since 2001. Over the course of their two decades of prolific journey, they underwent several lineup changes and unearthed four critically acclaimed full-lengths, an EP, and numerous demo releases. Their tight and fierce on-stage showmanship has let them tour/share stage with many influential names of the metal world and appear at numerous European and Asian venues/fests, including Bloodstock Open Air, Suomi Feast, and Neurotic Death Fest.

Incorporating death metal, thrash metal, and symphonic influences to put an exciting modern feel to their crafts, Re-Armed made “Gothenburg metal” a scarcely appropriate tag to define their sound. On the new songs from the 20th anniversary EP, XX, Re-Armed continues developing their epic, spellbinding sound inaugurated on their lauded recent album, Ignis Aeternum. In addition, captivatingly restructuring four previous numbers, Re-Armed again bespeaks their inner strength in artistry and diversity.

The band comments on the special release:

“We wanted to put together a somewhat special release that includes something new, but also echoes from the past. The new and the latest single, ‘Tomorrow,’ from the release is a great example of that. The track was originally released under the name of ‘Morrow’ in 2002 as the first demo for the band. It was more than exciting to shake its foundations after all these years and make it a much better song. Now you can actually feel and hear its strong emotional charge that’s been hidden in that shitty demo version, heh.

“Of course, it could have been way easier to pick up some songs from all the previous releases and make just some kind of collection album, but it sounded already, in the beginning, a so damn boring idea. And since coronavirus came and shuffled the pack with our previous album promotion tours, etc., it basically canceled most of our booked shows at that time. What else do we have than time to make some new music? Staying put and waiting for some virus to disappear would have been a pure waste of time. Massive thank goes to our partners in crime, all these guys and girls who helped us to put this bungle together. We shared our vision with them and asked for help here and there, especially this happened with the special track versions. The end result is great and special indeed. Enjoy!”

MALEDICTIS TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE "DELICTA"

PRESS RELEASE:

MALEDICTIS,the brainchild of John Marszalkowski will release the new single "Delicta" (Featuring Mariangela Demurtas of TRISTANIA) on March 4, 2022. John has concurrently unveiled a Kickstarter project to help fund the release that will include perks such as digital downloads, shirts and CDs.

Unlike the previous release, which was recorded remotely, the new single embraced the ability to record in person with talented musicians in a stunning setting. A number of the instruments were recorded at Calvary Presbyterian Church in downtown Milwaukee, the Gothic architecture of the building dictating the nature of the atmosphere created by the reverberations. The recording also diverges from the traditional string quartet using a ‘choir’ of cellos instead, making use of the instrument’s wide range. “Delicta” is a song about betrayal told from the point of view of the betrayer who acknowledges their fault and accepts their consequences. Opening with a striking flute melody, the track builds with brass, cello, and a choir chant being gradually layered to produce a compelling sound comprised of multiple harmonies. The heavy instrumentation enhances the orchestral elements by adding a powerful layer beneath the soaring melodies.

“Delicta” is an enchanting experience, delving into the powerful dynamics of orchestral instruments and adding a distinctive twist through unconventional recording techniques. It’s a thrilling celebration of heavy music with a delightfully Gothic focus.

MAINBRAIN RELEASE "JAWBREAKER"

PRESS RELEASE:

Mainbrain

Jawbreaker

11 February 2022

Since their foundation in 2009, Mainbrain have been clear that, musically speaking, they would dedicate themselves to serial killings. And as if they had been meditating deeply on what their perfect crime should be, now they finally deliver Jawbreaker, their first album.

Along the way, they had already left a good trail of blood with the EPs The Plague (2012) and Feeding The Beasts (2013). And now, putting themselves again in the hands of Fran Corpas for the recording, mixing and mastering, with their debut full-length we can say that they have decidedly opted for polytraumatism by blunt object as their favourite modus operandi.

The band from Málaga plays brutal death, there is no doubt about it, but instead of letting themselves be dragged down by the slam so much in vogue nowadays, they expand their instruments of torture with good old death metal. So, don’t be surprised if ‘Jawbreaker’ reminds you of Cannibal Corpse, or if you even find remnants of Six Feet Under in ‘Pornfucker’ and ‘Addiction’. As you can see, finesse is not their thing, and with Jhonny’s gutturals, Chechu and César’s riffs, plus Alex’s bass expertise and Tete’s bestialism on drums, the scientific police won’t find too much of your body after a full listen to this opus.

On the other hand, they might recognise you instantly because they find your head as a trophy, as in this cover by Indonesian artist Ardha Lepa (Sinister, Malignancy, Putrid Pile)...

Besides telling stories based on 80s horror films, Mainbrain also criticises religious and political aspects in their lyrics, even emphasising the use of guns in USA. Thus, Jawbreaker is a deadly cocktail, in which the Andalusian band gives free rein to their violence to tell us about a sick and macabre world that, unfortunately, is not so far from reality.

EMASCULATED VITUPERATION RELEASE "RAPE TRAUMA SYNDROME"

PRESS RELEASE:

Lurking in the diseased bowels of humanity, a despised outcast, a parasite ridden raptor dragging its rancid carcass through the sewers of the world. No heart, no soul...blinded by bitterness it preys on the vulnerable, desecrates beauty, spits pain from its twisted lips. A worm in the heart, feeding on the weak, a perverted cancer hiding in the shadows, an empty vessel filling that endless void of emotion with the agony of others...

As society collapses at ever greater speed and mankind lurches through the filth of its own creation towards and ending befitting our actions, new musical monstrosities are hatched in the torture dungeons and fetid basements of the world. New bestial expressions of extremity crawl from the darkness, armed with bone breaking blast beats and riffs carved from dead flesh, vocal exhortations draped in steaming entrails and a laughing disregard for the sensibilities of others. There is no more grotesque and ghastly example of this parade of atrocities than Taiwan’s Emasculated Vituperation. Their debut album, Rape Trauma Syndrome is an explosion of horror and breathtaking savagery – one minute dragging you through a charnel pit of rot and decay, the next subjecting you to a frenzied assault of shocking intensity. Drenched in the acidic bile of cruelty and drowning in unreasoning hatred, this is an album for the most desensitised and warped, those fatally addicted to the poisonous adrenaline rush of the brutal outer limits of slamming death metal.

The soul corroding grime of Rape Trauma Syndrome has been unleashed by the twin powers of Brutal Mind and Fat Tub Of Lard Records and features guest vocal appearances from Brandon Smith of Agonal Breathing and Xu Zhaiyu and Dongda of The Dark Prison Massacre. Beyond horror, beyond disgust, beyond revulsion you will find Emasculated Vituperation – tread carefully in this maze of sordid nightmares.
