LABYRINTHUS STELLARUM RELEASE NEW SINGLE "RAVENOUS PLANET"

PRESS RELEASE:

Ukraine’s atmospheric black metal band, Labyrinthus Stellarum, releases new single and lyric video for 'Ravenous Planet.'

The song Ravenous Planet is one of the most progressive and complex songs by Labyrinthus Stellarum. The initial demo for the track was created in 2021, before the band was founded, and was an ambient/new age composition. And only in 2024 did the demo begin its transformation into a full-fledged Labyrinthus Stellarum song.

The song tells the story of a space expedition in search of a new habitable planet. But the planet the expedition arrives on, hoping to become their new home, turns out to be a trap inhabited by a swarm of creatures with a collective mind. The heroes of the song fight the creatures, realizing that they are doomed.

Ravenous Planet is the first single from the next album Rift in Reality, which will be released in early 2025. The new album will be even more experimental and diverse than the previous one, and will include both epic melodic tracks and heavy and aggressive ones. The album will also feature a bit more clean vocals than previous releases.

The album cover was designed by Mark Cooper, known for his work with bands such as Rings of Saturn and Brand of Sacrifice.

Labyrinthus Stellarum is a cosmic black metal band from Odesa, founded in 2021 by vocalist and songwriter Oleksandr Andronati and guitarist Oleksandr Kostetskyi. Later, they were joined by a second guitarist, Oleksandr Andronati’s brother, Misha. In 2023, they released their debut album Tales of the Void, which gained recognition for its blend of atmospheric black metal with elements of electronic music and cosmic-themed lyrics. Shortly after the album's release, Oleksandr Kostetskyi left the band, and since then, Labyrinthus Stellarum has continued as a duo of the two brothers.

Their second album, Vortex of the Worlds, was released on April 6, 2024, solidifying Labyrinthus Stellarum’s place in the cosmic black metal scene alongside bands like Darkspace, Mesarthim, and Vorga. Despite their short existence, the band has performed with iconic Ukrainian black metal acts such as White Ward, and Colotyphus.

DREADMASK RELEASE "THY PRIME DREAD"

PRESS RELEASE:

Dutch melodic death metal outfit Dreadmask has joined forces with the prestigious Wormholedeath label and unleashes their debut EP, "Thy Prime Dread," today on all digital platforms! Prepare to be immersed in a sonic journey of raw emotion, fear, and unrelenting energy.

In early 2023, a spark ignited the flames of Dreadmask, a melodic death metal band based in Eindhoven, with members originating from Greece, Hungary, and The Netherlands. Fuelled by their shared passion for meaningful heavy music, Dreadmask wasted no time in making their mark on the scene. After each member had taken a break from previous bands, John Kourentas, Elger van Delft and Antonis Mougiakakos initiated the band's first incarnation. The group was settled when Zoltán Herczog came aboard in the summer of 2023. Dreadmask, derived from the fusion of 'dread' and 'mask,' embodies the essence of fear and concealment.

While 'dread' signifies the haunting grip of anxiety, 'mask' alludes to the veils we arise to shield our vulnerabilities. On the journey of playing the game of societal norms, we encounter our 'Prime Dread'—our deepest fears.

Each member of Dreadmask brings their unique musical influences to the forefront, encompassing Swedish death metal riffs, growling vocals, soaring melodies, progressive metal nuances, and black metal-inspired melancholy.

Meet Dreadmask:

Zoltan Herczog (Rhythm Guitar, Backing vocals)

John Kourentas (Lead Guitar, Keys)

Antonios Mougiakakos (Lead Vocals, Bass Guitar)

Elger Van Delft (Drums)

GRAVE WITH A VIEW RELEASE "RAW ILLUMINATION"

PRESS RELEASE:

As their journey through the dark continues, the sound of Finland’s Grave With A View just gets harsher and more pitiless. With their new full length album, Raw Illumination, the band have stared long into the abyss of the soul, confronting head on the bitter loneliness and crushing desolation of reality, the grief and pain that await us on our long, weary progress through life. They have embraced the inevitability of violence and death and infused the eight hymns to emptiness and destruction that form Raw Illumination with that essence. There is neither peace nor consolation to be found within this maze of torment, only the chilling winds of anti-life black metal and the jagged claws of Raw Illumination!

Each song on Raw Illumination is a rotten tooth within the mouth of this ravenous musical jackal, each coated in its own particular poison; be it the skin crawling formication of title track, ‘Raw Illumination’ itself, where soul sucking spirits writhe between the bloodstained riffs, or the grim, endless march through a forever of torment that is the doleful despair of ‘Wrest’. There is a black-veined death that runs throughout this album, binding the unsettling tone shifts and fearsome hammer blow beats, the hollowing atmosphere of terror and arsenal of scalding, ferocious riffs together; but each individual nightmare also stands alone, unique tableaus of horror painted in the colours of rot, decay and hopeless solitude. There are no exhilarating vistas of snow topped mountains to be found here, no conflict between glorious immortals, heavens aflame and dark angels on the wing…Raw Illumination is the black metal of dirty needles and stained sheets, knives in filthy alleyways , broken windows and empty rooms, disintegrating minds and slowly stopping hearts. Dying alone…unmourned, unloved and unknown.

Raw Illumination is a formidable album, without a doubt Grave With A View’s most impressive creative achievement to date – and the team that the band surrounded themselves with was carefully chosen. The sound that helps to give these songs their aura of all-consuming loss was achieved by the recording and mixing of O.H.R. and the mastering skills of Haldor Grunberg at Satanic Audio (Behemoth, Dopelord, Christ Agony etc) – his touch allowing the listener to feel the dust and grime beneath their fingers and taste the salt of blood and tears. Meanwhile the striking visuals that reflect the music’s unbalanced, addictive nature were invoked with the help of model Anna Iivana Julma and designer Danny The Destroyer. And behind it all Dusktone, the label that will send Raw Illumination’s murky malevolence out into the world on November 29th. Stay close to the light…something wicked this way comes.

KVELDSTIMER RELEASE "SCRIPTURE OF THE WOODS"

PRESS RELEASE:

KVELDSTIMER Release Physical Edition of Scripture of the Woods

Album Out Now on Alte Seelen

The debut album from old-school black metal duo KVELDSTIMER is now available on CD via Alte Seelen. Scripture of the Woods delivers a sound that harkens back to the early 90s Norwegian scene.

Originally released as a limited-edition cassette earlier this year, Alte Seelen is now offering these seven black metal rituals on CD. Order and stream the album now at alteseelen.bandcamp.com

Scripture of the Woods tracklist:

1) Emerging Glare

2) Folk of the Blossoming Sky

3) Sommar

4) The Field's Arrival

5) Washed Away Among the Stones

6) Fiendish Lore

7) Moon's Melody of Death

Upon first viewing, the band's name, cover art, and logo, might give one reason to assume this is simply a blatant Sort Vokter ripoff. On the contrary, this debut mini album is a definite nod to the former legendary ‘necro’ act, but the music within has a certain vibe that serves as a tribute of sorts while standing on its own merits. Thus, Scripture of the Woods will surely appeal to fans of such legendary acts as the aforementioned Sort Vokter, as well as Ildjarn and the early works of Gorgoroth, while maintaining a primitive sound and style all their own.

Comprised of two prolific musicians, Azeruel Woldaeg and Collier d'ombre,

KVELDSTIMER delivers seven tracks of primitive, yet majestic, old-school black metal. The atmosphere and striking execution conjure whispers of the early 90's Norwegian scene!

KVELDSTIMER is:

Azeruel Woldaeg - all instruments

Collier d'ombre - vocals

MYTHBEGOTTEN RELEASE "TALES FROM THE UNSEELIE COURT"

PRESS RELEASE:

The debut album from epic metal band MYTHBEGOTTEN is now streaming and available for purchase! On their first outing, MYTHBGOTTEN promises to regale listeners with an aural tome filled with stories of legend, myth, and the macabre, collectively titled Tales from the Unseelie Court.

Stream and order the album at mythbegotten.bandcamp.com/album/tales-from-the-unseelie-court

Hailing from the hills and woodlands of Central New York and New England, MYTHBEGOTTEN combines a love of legends old and new with a folk-inflected fusion of metal genres to arrive at a uniquely epic and melancholic melodic concoction.

The result is an eight-track journey that reaches Tolkien-esque levels of grandeur. The band offers an in-depth look at the inspiration behind Tales from the Unseelie Court.

"The key inspiration for the individual songs includes the Dullahan (an evil fey from Irish Mythology) which inspired the song "The Heedless Horseman", Sawney Bean (a legendary Scottish Cannibal and inspiration for "The Hills Have Eyes") which inspired the song "The Terror of Lothian", H.P. Lovecraft's "The Rats in The Walls" which inspired the song "Beneath Exham Priory", The Welsh Legend of the Wild Hunt which inspired the song "Mallt-y-Nos", the Arthurian legend of Merlin and the Dragons which inspired the song "Omen of Embers", The melancholy book 4 of Milton's "Paradise Lost" which inspired the song "The Fall", and the climactic Battle of the Pelennor Fields from Tolkien's "The Return of The King" which inspired the song "Of Wrath and Ruin". This is all rounded out by an arrangement of the classic Scots ballad "Twa Corbies" which brings together the old traditions of British Isles balladry with this modern sonic storytelling which MYTHBEGOTTEN bases its songwriting upon."

The Journey So Far...

A decade ago in Syracuse, New York, Connor Hoffman, Daniel Barbour, and Joe Sopchak released the Stirling demo under their Folk/Power Metal fusion project Hounds of Annwn. Shortly thereafter, they performed their only live show at the Sturmfeier folk metal festival in Hamlin, New York, but with college and work taking priority, the three soon scattered throughout the Northeast. All knew, however, that there was much left undone, songs left unsung, and stories left untold.

In 2022, after years of sporadic songwriting and fits and starts of recording, the trio re-committed to bringing their vision of folk- and symphonic-infused Power Metal to fruition under the new moniker MYTHBEGOTTEN. This name was chosen for its elegant encapsulation of the band’s ethos: to chronicle the stories from myth, fantasy, and history that have inspired them.

Tales from the Unseelie Court is the first release from this reforged musical triumvirate and is centered around the folklore of the British Isles and literary fantasy, showcasing the eerie and macabre as well as the wondrous and heroic. Listeners feel as though they are sitting amidst a gathering of the Unseelie Fey Court, hearing great and terrible stories retold to the assembled congregation.

MYTHBEGOTTEN is excited to reveal its unique blend of metallic styles in this first eldritch release and looks forward to sharing tales even stranger and more wondrous with the world.

Line-Up:

Connor Hoffman – Guitars, Backing Vocals, Additional Keyboards
