DEMIRICOUS RELEASE NEW SINGLE: "SMOKE CHASER"

Indiana death/thrash band DEMIRICOUS have unleashed their song "Smoke Chaser". The track is taken from their highly anticipated album III: Chaotic Lethal, which is out on May 13, 2022. The song will be available on all streaming platforms this coming Friday April 29th.

The band comments: 

“From a writing standpoint, we took a bit of a different approach on this one. With the chorus, we wanted to open it up with a huge melodic riff, and a catchy, anthemic hook. And to counteract the catchiness of the chorus and melody, we wanted to cap it with one of the ugliest moments on the entire record. “Smoke Chaser” lyrically is about how humanity has a false sense of relevance, as a result  of technology. We are all addicted, and constantly chasing something we will never actually obtain.”

Rising from the depths of the abyss, DEMIRICOUS are preparing to unleash their most monstrous record yet III: Chaotic Lethal. The death/thrash quartet from Indianapolis, Indiana, initially formed in 2005 and released two successful full lengths gaining international regard. Following an extended hiatus, the outfit are making an impactful return. 

“It’s been 15 years since we’ve released a record. We are so unbelievably proud of this one, and this is the DEMIRICOUS record we’ve always wanted to make. Prepare yourselves. It’s a fucking monster.”

DEMIRICOUS delve into heavier instrumentation and sinister moods, releasing a plethora of hard-hitting sounds across the tracks. Immersing eerily into a desolate landscape, “Unconditional Hate” smothers the senses. As guitars begin to screech and grapple through the murkiness, it’s not long before the sheer speed and power of DEMIRICOUS breaks through. Demonic low tones dominate the instrumentation and aggressive vocals. From the high fuelled groove rhythms of and blast beats of “Smoke Chaser”, to the unearthly doom and gloom of “Chaotic Lethal”, DEMIRICOUS venture across realms of dynamic metal influences creating a thrilling and hauntingly theatrical experience. The album operates in a cyclical nature seeing the final track, “Faith Crime” withdraw to the void from which III: Chaotic Lethal emerged. 

III: Chaotic Lethal marks a monumental milestone. It is an epic collection of tracks exploring a dark narrative of the barbaric and grotesque. DEMIRICOUS’s sound is revived and restored, as the band have evolved into their next chapter.

The songs on "Jordevandring XXMMII" were composed 10 years ago, back in 2012, which makes this release almost like an anniversary release. Most of the original recordings are reused but the guitars and some vocals are completely re-recorded. The tracks have been remastered for a cleaner sound, to take the songs to new heights. The album is mastered by Dan Swanö at Unisound AB and contains nine tracks of atmospheric death doom metal in an old school style and performed in the mother tongue Swedish.

SKOTOSE RELEASE "SPIRIT OF MADNESS" VIDEO

SKOTOSE, Shapeshifter PR and Craig Rossi (Drift Into Black, Days in the Abyss, Ex-Grey Skies Fallen) present the lyric video for Spirit of Madness. The song appears on SKOTOSE’s King of Human Sacrifice Demo. It will also be featured on the upcoming full-length (details coming soon on that release). 

The video was created by Craig Rossi. The song pays homage to Ancient Greece and the Spirit of Madness, Lyssa. It features iconic imagery of Ancient Rome and Greece including depictions of Lyssa, Bachuss, Dionysus, and their wild rites. Spirit of Madness is not only an ode to Ancient Greece, who wrote extensively on the Spirit of Madness, it symbolizes the agony and ecstasy of mania. It symbolizes rage, rabies, lust, passion and having no inhibitions.

SKOTOSE bassist and lead lyricist comments on the song:

“I am very proud to present this video. I have had visions of what this song represents and Craig Rossi took that vision and made it heavenly. It’s like being on Mount Olympics with the gods! His graphic work and interpretation of the lyrics went beyond what I expected, and he created a masterpiece!  He also made the song sound better by equing it.

He definitely hit a home run, but if you are familiar with his work you will see this is only one out many projects. Rossi makes all his own videos for his project Drift Into Black and his new Science Fiction project, Days in the Abyss. The first Days in the Abyss video will launch into outer space on May 13. Recent Rising Nemesis Records signees Enragement are excited to announce the upcoming release of their third full-length, Atrocities. The album will be released on April 29th through Rising Nemesis Records. 

Active since 2006, Enragement took their time in becoming the group they are now slowly, only getting to their current stage musically upon the 2014 release of their debut album, Omnimalevolence of Man. Afterward, the band dropped a well-received follow-up, Burned, Barren, Bloodstained, in 2017 via Finnish label Inverse Records. After many years of slow yet steady musical evolution, the band has finally found a new home in Rising Nemesis Records where they seek to put out their best material to date.

With Atrocities, Enragement delivers a hybrid approach to brutal and slam death metal that draws just as much from the technical side of the genre as it does the necessary sheer brutality and absurd heaviness the style is built upon.
