Portland, Oregon's A//TAR are pleased to announce that they will be releasing a live album this winter. The album was recorded at last year's Ceremony of Sludge and will be released on both digital and CD formats.
More information will be available soon, in the meantime you can listen to the band's critically acclaimed 2019 release "Hallowed" at this location: https://alltar.bandcamp.com/album/hallowed
About A//TAR:
Hailing from the dark and gloomy Pacific Northwest, Alltar (stylized as A//tar) deftly combines elements of Post-Metal, Doom, and Sludge; and in an act of pure alchemy, wholly creates their own image. In the midst of the bass-heavy, distortion-laden wall of sound lies an element of somber, melodic beauty.
The Portland, OR quintet are masters of slow-burn dramatic tension and explosive riffs with impassioned vocals giving their songs a formidable intensity. Reminiscent of the crushing ferocity of Souls At Zero-era Neurosis, the cinematic metal of Amenra, and multifaceted haze of Cult of Luna, A//tar are a return to thoughtcrafty heavy music.
Founded by guitarist Tim Burke (also of Hound The Wolves) in 2016, the band has developed through a careful, deliberate evolution to reach its perfect lineup with Juan Carlos Caceres (vocals, Moog), Nate Wright (drums), Colin Hill (guitar, samples) and Casey Braunger (bass.) With the same deliberation, the band spent the latter half of 2017 recording their 4-song debut album at 3 different studios in Portland, then mixing and mastering in Spring 2018. A record label came into the picture soon thereafter, though the album release was held up as the label’s funds were scarce. Eventually, the label folded and the band wrestled back their masters, choosing to self-release, now well into 2019.
“Upon the A//TAR we place our past,” the band declares. “Through the triumphs and tribulations of human-kind. From the technical and artistic birth of society’s achievements in art and technology, as well as the rise of power, war, destruction, and the control of humanity. Through the inevitable dark decay and cold loss, our music is inspired.”

03. Reborn
04. From the Abyss
05. 'till the End

Biography:
NETHERBLADE was born from the ashes of Milan's metal band Blindeath in 2016. Shortly after the first rehearsals, Dan, Luca and Simone hired Riccardo Bona as second guitarist and Andrea Ledda for the frontman position.
Towards the end of 2016 the band signed to ETN Records and released their debut single, "Thieves' Den", only in digital format on all major platforms and stores. In support of the single, the group also released an official videoclip in order to make more waves in the underground circuit.
In 2017 NETHERBLADE signed to Vomit Arcanus Prod. and started working on their first EP, "Annihilation of Self", which was released in 2018. To support the EP, the band launched two singles in lyric video and official videoclip formats on YouTube, while the whole EP was being released in digital format on all the usual platforms.
In 2019 Riccardo left the band and was promptly replaced by Davide: with this lineup, the band entered the studio and started recording the debut album, entitled "Reborn", at the beginning of 2019. The record will be release and distributed via Dark Hammer Legion and Volcano Records.
"Anthelion" ft. guest vocals Chris Thoresen (Shark Infested Daughters) & guest guitar solo Travis Montgomery (Threat Signal, Meytal)
New EP “Re:Awaken” Out October 9th
Canada’s EVERY HOUR KILLS have the third single off the upcoming EP “Re:Awaken” ready for ears. The second of four tracks on the album is spacey, heavy with a complex barrage of sounds making it truly euphonic.
“Re:Awaken” is a concept album with a rich and colourful story that plays into the lore of Every Hour Kills. It sends the listener into the 22nd century, where humanity is deteriorating and the only help seems to come from a race of aliens, the Illusions. Their proposition was simple: in exchange for children who had not yet been consumed by the plague, they would give us medicine to heal the sick.
The single “Anthelion” features a guest guitar solo from Travis Montgomery of Threat Signal, Meytal, and Kill The Lights and is an angry tale of a man having his autonomy and rights taken away by the elite race and the loss of privacy in the new technological age. The band explains the listening experience in their own words:
“It is meant to smash together progressive metal with a cinematic film score. There are literally hundreds of tracks of synth and orchestration going on underneath the metal band foundation; so, each listen should uncover new tidbit of ear candy and layers, especially with headphones or good speakers!”
As an internet-only project, Every Hour Kills leverages this sole focus in bringing in a wide variety of guest artists from around the world and collaborates with artists of all kinds. This EP comes with a visual storybook from Splice Comics that supplement the themes of the band.
Geared towards fans of sci-fi, djent, and progressive metal, especially those with Scar Symmetry, Starset, and Bring Me the Horizon in their rotation “Re:Awaken” comes out on October 9, 2020.
The full EP “Re:Awaken” will be releasing on October 9, 2020. EP Pre-Save HERE.
Track Listing:
1. Veiled Aurora (ft. guest vocals Shaley Bourget of Dayshell, Of Mice & Men & guest guitar solo Morgan Reid of Bloodshot Dawn) (4:18)
2. Anthelion (ft. guest vocals Chris Thoresen (Shark Infested Daughters & guest guitar solo Travis Montgomery of Threat Signal, Meytal) (4:26)
3. Re:awaken (4:12)
4. Time ft. guest guitar solo Rick Graham (Joe Satriani cover) (5:04)
5. Veiled Aurora (Instrumental) (4:18)
6. Anthelion (Instrumental) (4:26)
7. Re:awaken (Instrumental) (4:12)
8. Time (Joe Satriani cover) (Instrumental) (5:04)
Every Hour Kills is a powerhouse ensemble featuring the core of ex-Divinity / Enditol guitarist Sacha Laskow, bassist Brent Stutsky (ex-Breach of Trust), along with vocalist Jerrod Maxwell-Lyster (ex-Out of Your Mouth).
The new EP titled ‘Re:Awaken’ set for release on October 9, 2020, tells the stories of individuals existing in this fragmented future; their struggle to exist amidst the chaos of forces of the elite race and the constant encroaching tide of technology. An accompanying illustrated short storybook by Splice Comics will delve even deeper into the EHK lore.
Every Hour Kills was built to challenge the idea of what defines a “band”. Rather, the group sees itself as a constantly evolving musical collective; guest vocalists and soloists across the songs bring their own unique artistry and elevate the collective impact of Every Hour Kills’ brand. The lyrics, artwork, visuals, and themes all look toward the future, asking the key postmodern question of how will emerging technology and our humanity progress and co-exist?
Progressive Death Metal Titans CONTRARIAN are set to release their fourth album, Only Time Will Tell, November 20 on Willowtip Records! Kicking things off in grand fashion, Decibel has premiered the official video for opening track "In A Blink of an Eye." Check it out below!
The "new school of old school progressive death metal" is how CONTRARIAN is described; creating death metal that is authentically original with a natural memory and understanding of the old. Rooted in early 90's progressive death metal, but with an unrelenting forward-thinking approach. Spearheaded by guitar player Jim Tasikas, CONTRARIAN is a group of like-minded musicians that coincidentally converged on a vision of what a modern death metal band should sound like. Organic sounding, yet aggressive and melodically complex, CONTRARIAN is packed with snake-like riffage and atmospheric variations that will provide a wholly enticing listen to all those willing to take in its eccentricity.
CONTRARIAN is thinking man's metal, both musically and lyrically. The band uses methods of fantasy and escapism to convey ideas involving philosophy, theology, and science. CONTRARIAN has been on a campaign to promote thinking man’s metal for a long time. Organic and passionate playing, dignified studio recording methods that reflects an understanding of the craft competence, evolution and succession of diverse metal history over decades.
Only Time Will Tell is CONTRARIAN's fourth studio album. Once again, a concept album that deals with the band's familiar topics of philosophy and theology. This time, the band's mascot ' the cloaked contrarian" endeavors on an adventure of time travel for redemption and love.
Formed in Nicosia, Cyprus in 2012, HARMONIZE originally started as a thrash metal band until gradually transforming into the Heavy/Power Metal force that they are today, although the band still maintains some thrash and dark elements in their style.
HARMONIZE have so far released two demos and have performed live numerous times (including shows alongside Blaze Bayley, Bonfire, Wotan and others) while working on fine tuning their sound and style.
The band’s upcoming debut album, titled “Warrior in the Night” is scheduled for release on October 2nd and will be out on CD and Digital. It is based on an original epic fantasy fiction story that is still under development by guitarist George Constantinou and London-based actor Nicolina Papas.
As expected, battles and swords, kings and queens, angels and demons are but a few of the symbolic themes one will come across as the album’s story unfolds!
“Warrior in the Night” includes a couple guest appearances by close friends of the band, one being actor Nicolina Papas on the haunting narrative “Beyond Darkness” outro track of the album and also Andreas Paraschos of death metal act BLYND, who provides the brutal chorus backing vocals on the song “Tonight.”
