ATAVISTIA RELEASE "INANE DUCAM"

PRESS RELEASE:

Atavistia

Inane Ducam

19 July 2024

Fresh off of their recent European tour with SKÁLMÖLD and SEVEN SPIRES, Vancouver-based blackened symphonic metal outfit ATAVISTIA will release their new EP Inane Ducam (Translates to I Will Lead Into Nothingness) on July 19, 2024. Featuring new guitarist Elia Baghbaniyan and bassist/vocalist Spencer Budworth, Inane Ducam  seeks to explore different genres and styles while still maintaining the core ATAVISTIA sound.

Band founder Mattias Sippola comments "'Inane Ducam' was an experimental writing process - lower tuning, the debut of Spencer’s fierce low growls, and tempos reaching close to 300BPM. During the Winter months of 2023, Vancouver experienced extremely dark, cold, and gloomy days which is an antidote to creating music like this."

The EP kicks off with the gloomy and mysterious title track. Mattias comments "The lyrics are the same as the final phrase in “The Void” representing the repeatability of the EP. The lyrics represent how one can find beauty and solace within the darkest depths of one’s own mind and soul."

The next track "Timeless Despair" is vastly different from previous Atavistia songs, being melodic and extremely riff-heavy at the same time.

The EP continues with "Dark Isolation" which Mattias describes as "another exploration of genre blending metal. The track begins with an orchestral movement which can be compared to an enemy army rolling over the hills. It then blasts into a steady head-banging pattern before changing keys one step down for the first verse. Thunderous gallops encapsulate the verses in Drop Bb tuning. It then opens into a full choir chorus “Lightening” the bombastic trait of this track."

The penultimate track "Unattained Creation" follows and has an even heavier intro than the previous tracks. The intro is then followed by an eerie orchestral break with whispered Latin lyrics before heading back into the main riff for the first verse.

Finally, the EP closes with "The Void" with devastating screams from Mattias and Spencer together. During the verses and pre-chorus sections, one can hear the “classic ATAVISTIA” traits which they have become known for in their short history as a band.

AXAMENTA RELEASE "SPIRES"

PRESS RELEASE:

Axamenta

Spires

19 July 2024

Belgian cinematic progressive metal band AXAMENTA will release their highly-anticipated new EP Spires on July 19th, 2024. AXAMENTA dives deeper into the influences that stoked the flames of their acclaimed 2006 album Ever-Arch-I-Tech-Ture, and takes notes from bands like PERIPHERY, FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE, and DEVIN TOWNSEND to evolve into their own unique sound. Borrowing from their experience producing Hollywood trailer music for blockbusters such as Old (2021), Prey (2022), and The Pope’s Exorcist (2023), Spires throws the listener remorselessly into the intricate story of the EP, adorning the imagery oozing from the lyrics with an organic horror atmosphere. The band invites you to skulk amidst the cold and fragile gossamer threads of the music, revel in their purgatorial storm, and burn with the remorse of unbearable guilt alongside the album's tortured protagonist. As you wind through layer upon layer of musical and lyrical storytelling, you will steer this burning hearse into the cold depths of hell that comprise the story's finale.

The music demonstrates a modern progressive slant, laced with a bone-chilling, organic horror atmosphere. Spires is unique in that it is presented as a 23-minute track, divided into 7 acts. The EP dives deeper into vocal harmonies, musical storytelling, and an all-around cinematic atmosphere than the band ever has before, aiming to push the boundaries of modern metal and challenge conventional norms. Fierce growls lay atop blankets of delicate, intricate melodies, giving the music the edge and beauty it needs to convey such an emotionally complex story.

About AXAMENTA:

AXAMENTA is a cinematic, progressive, blackened melodeath band that hails from Belgium. Though AXAMENTA's roots trace back further, its current form solidified in 2004, gaining significant attention with its acclaimed full album Ever-Arch-I-Tech-Ture in 2006 and standout performances at Graspop Metal Meeting in 2005 and 2006. Following a period of hibernation from 2008 to 2022, AXAMENTA has returned in 2024 with a commitment to innovation and a passion for storytelling. With a track record of contributing trailer music to Hollywood blockbusters, AXAMENTA possesses a unique skillset that immerses listeners in a captivating voyage through multiple layers of emotions and sonic exploration.

AXAMENTA is:

Vocals: Peter Meynckens

Lead Guitar/Clean Vocals: Ian van Gemeren

Bass: Jeroen Vingerhoed

SARCATOR SIGNS WITH CENTURY MEDIA RECORDS

PRESS RELEASE:

SARCATOR – Sign new worldwide deal with Century Media Records, European tour with HELLRIPPER starts this week!

Century Media Records is thrilled to welcome SARCATOR, four young men from Trollhättan, Sweden who have dedicated their lives and souls to blood, fire and death.

At the young age of 14-20 SARCATOR released their first demo tape, Visions of Purgatory, via the American label Redefining Darkness Records in 2019. Just two years later the quadrumvirate got nominated for best rock/metal album for the Swedish music award P3 Guld with their 2020’s self-titled debut release for the same label. After releasing their 2nd album, Alkahest, via Black Lion Records in 2022, SARCATOR finally got a proper chance to play live, captivating crowds with their intense, blackened live shows. With their current line-up fully committed to the band despite their young age (all members are between 19 and 25) it was time for them to record their 3rd album which will be out via Century Media Records in early 2025 and bring SARCATOR to the forefront of an emergent, highly determined new generation of Scandinavian extreme metal bands.

The band comments on the cooperation that was inked in black blood: “We are extremely pleased to announce that we have now signed with Century Media Records, who will be releasing our upcoming third full-length album. This is a huge next step for us as a band and we're ready to enter this new chapter with deathrashing fury and full force! Hope to have you all, supporters of the band, coming along for the ride as well! More info on the new album coming soon…but first come and see us on the European dates with Hellripper and Cloak!”

Mike Gitter (VP of A&R Century Media Records) on the unholy alliance: "SARCATOR is pure blackened thrash-on-fire. Severely pissed and utterly fast and furious, the still barely out of their teens Swedish foursome take the thrashing blueprint, pour a ton of gasoline on it, light a match and they're nothing short of explosive. Their third and upcoming LP is as modern and punk in its ferocity as it is classic, conjuring the sounds of Possessed and Kreator while amping up its very intensity. We're excited to be working with SARCATOR and have no question that the future of thrash is upon us. And it's Swedish.”

Make sure to join circle-pits on their European tour with HELLRIPPER and CLOAK starting this week:

DECLARED DEAD RELEASE "NECRODEIST"

PRESS RELEASE:

Band: DECLARED DEAD

Album: Necrodeist

Country: Belgium

Genre: Blackened Death-Thrash | Prog Death ‘n’ Roll

Label: Sliptrick Records

Release date: July 16th, 2024

DECLARED DEAD Channel Their Inner Nietzsche On ‘Necrodeist’

Necrodeist is the tenth full length studio recorded release by Declared Dead (appropriately marking a decade anniversary for the band!). The majority of Necrodeist was recorded at the beginning of 2023 and was continued from the summer months to November of 2023 (after a five to six month delay starting in February). Mixing and mastering occurred in December of 2023.

The concept/title of Necrodeist was seemingly "given" to band leader Anders Milovovich, "through the aether", and was fully developed with the rest of the band - thereafter. Like Declared Dead itself, "Necrodeist" is difficult to define succinctly. A simple phrase such as, "Through death, life is known." could be the beginning catalyst to understanding - but "true definition" would be ephemeral...evanescent.

After contemplation - it was recognized that Necrodeist has a kinship with Friedrich Nietzsche's "Will to Power" ("A living being seeks above all else to discharge its strength. Life itself is a will to power. Nothing else matters."). In the view of Anders Milovovich, Necrodeist has within its realm the idea that, "Frustrations that stem from and of 'dying' (ironically called 'living') causes shades and expulsions of emotive behavior to occur - which can be recognized as 'creativity'...'artistry' in certain situations. Consciousness expressing beyond the limits of flesh, utilizing the confinement within gross materiality as a tool of elevation. Duality in symbiosis leads to enlightenment."

In that respect, the previous Declared Dead album, Integument of Golden Luster and Necrodeist compliment each other (almost with no beginning or end between the two - cycling like the ouroboros) in terms of the former having a more "sun-like" quality while the latter is steeped in a darker "moon-like" moodiness. Though, it can be pondered - posits Anders (in a pseudo-lofty tone), "By night the day arrives - what is 'moonlight'? Is it not the sun peeking behind the curtain? Does not the creator reveal itself so much it disappears?"

Occult knowledge and exploration plays a role in Necrodeist as well. The lyrics within the album deal with elements of: "chaos magic", "extra-dimensional entities", "parapsychology", "quantum phenomenon", and "spiritual malaise".

The music of Necrodeist has a "carnavale" feeling to it at times, which upon investigation seems apropos, since the word derives from "carne levare/carne vale" or "remove meat/farewell to meat/farewell to flesh". The act of "dying" is just this! While the world dances, their feet are rooted in the underworld. Another aspect of the album's music is the more "brooding element" - again, representing the polarity of existence. The individual instruments and song structures convey both eccentricities, as well. The vocals, drums, and rhythm guitars have a stronger deliberate foundation like that of "intrinsic exoteric being", while the bass, keyboards, and solo guitars have a more spontaneous "devil may care" esoteric element, most of the time. With both combined - there's a balance that is simultaneously "interesting" and "invigorating".

Necrodeist could be described as "Atmospheric Progressive Blackened Death-Thrash" and might appeal to fans of: Annihilator, Morbid Angel, Impaled Nazarene, Nocturnus, and many more (those type of bands that have a unique approach involving numerous influences and inspirations that places an ineffable aura within and of their creations).

LOUDBLAST TO RELEASE "ALTERING FATES AND DESTINIES"

PRESS RELEASE:

It’s been almost four decades since their very first demo ''Behind The Dark Mist'. Yes, that long. And yes, 2025 will mark LOUDBLAST 40th birthday, with plenty of special events and surprises planned. But that will be next year.

For the time being, LOUDBLAST have chosen instead to still live in the now and release in the meantime maybe the most surprising and daring album of their long career.

Even if he voluntary describes the material as “pretty old-school”, Buriez talks about 'Altering Fates And Destinies' as a very personal album.

"It’s a good synthesis of what we stand for in 2024. We don’t forget where we come from yet we didn’t set any boundaries and vowed to do whatever the fuck we wanted.”

He continues :

"’Altering fates and destinies' is a very dark album, powerful and more mid paced than its predecessors , it’s definitely one of our heaviest album so far in terms of patterns, sound and production wise."

'From Beyond II (The Return)'

Lyric video coming soon ...

The band comments :

"The opening song of  'Altering Fates And Destinies'  has a “pretty old-school” vibe, this is a very organic and straight to the point song ‘From Beyond II (The Return)’ is also dwelling back in the Lovecraft mythos but also referencing Loudblast’s own history by offering a sequel to a track of our 1989 debut album, Sensorial Treatment which can also be read as the story of the beginning as a band."

KRYPTICY RELEASE "THE NON-RETURN"

PRESS RELEASE:

Krypticy

The Non-Return

Violence In The Veins

22 July 2024

After carving out a fierce reputation as death metal butchers playing alongside Avulsed, Wormed, Aposento, Necrophiliac, or Ataraxy, Andalusia’s Krypticy are ready to release The Non-Return, their second album.

Four years after Hideous Being, their debut full-length, the band from Málaga have put together a collection of sonic massacres that will make the eardrums of any fan of Autopsy, Benediction, Death, Atheist, Pestilence, Vomitory, or Suffocation tremble, thanks in part to a recording, mixing and mastering by Thor Nay at his Wave Nation Studio. With “human suffering as an inevitable destiny” as the main lyrical asset, Carla Leiva from Cardaver Art has been in charge of the striking cover artwork.

In their new opus, Krypticy make no attempt to disguise with which cards they play this bloody game. Classic, crushing, old school death metal, without forgetting the refined technique and breathtaking twists. Sharing members with Rebel Souls or Pachydermo Scato, we didn’t expect anything else. Let the heads roll!

Between psychopaths, murders and viscera, Krypticy pay homage to the usual death metal, as aggressive and raw as we discovered it too many years ago.

Alex Guerrero (guitars, vocals),

Sergio Álvarez (guitars),

Thomas Sánchez (bass, backing vocals),

Pancho Vázquez (drums)

Formed in: 2013, Málaga (Spain)
