BLOODFEAST RITUAL RELEASE VIDEO FOR "CHOPPED UP AND BURNED"

Los Angeles death shred Bloodfeast Ritual unleashed their debut EP "Altars of Sacrifice" this past July. It's a five-track introduction ranging from technical death metal to melodic shred, with lyrical content that shares the trio's love for 80’s horror movies (The Evil Dead, Dawn of The Dead), video games (Bloodborne), HP Lovecraft, and general blasphemy.

“This EP is a love letter to Death Metal. Old School, Modern, Technical and Brutal; we love all of the aspects of death metal as a genre, and we wanted to show that with this EP. We tried to display our influences by dramatically changing the vibe of each song.” says the band.

Heavy, fast, and brutal, today the band is sharing their lyric video/karaoke edition for their track "Chopped Up And Burned", which fans can scream and growl along with on YouTube (check below).

"This song was born out of a mutual love for Evil Dead. The lyrics spell out the story of the movie, and we feel the music compliments it nicely."

Melodic Black Metal from Germany / Slovakia

Abyss:

Abyss was founded in 2009. The sound of the Band is inspired by early nineties swedish melodic Black/Death Metal Bands. Melody and the high pace in certain fragments of their songs demonstrate a revival of groups like Dissection or Sacramentum. But besides all that nostalgy, there are influences from modern representatives of the Black and Death Metal genre with a certain personal touch. The songs are characterized by the exchange of filigree instrumental passages followed by partly melodic and partly raw riffing. This bandwidth serves the delivery of the Band ́s concept, which deals with chaos in all its facetts and mankinds exposure to its forces.  Abyss played several shows around Bavaria, got festival experiences as well as concerts abroad.

 

Besna:

Besna is a post-black metal band from Bratislava, Slovakia founded in 2017. So far, they have released their debut EP in June 2018 and played multiple shows in Slovakia. Their sound is defined by mournful melodies combined with powerful, mad screams. You can also find influences of old Slovakian folk music in touching clean parts sung in their mother tongue. Thereby, their music becomes a unique, thrilling journey filled with emotions.

 

About the Split:

After embarking on the "Further Into Perdition MMXIX" Tour together with Groza, Abyss decided to change plans for their upcoming full-length and start a collaboration with some of the new-found companions. Ultimately, the Bratislava-based Slovakian band Besna turned out to be also in the process of setting up their next record, so both bands decided to team up for a split. This ended up as an international project, with studios from the Czech Republic (Shaark Studio), Germany (W-Audio) and even Iceland (Krummafótur Studio) getting involved, with the artwork being designed by french Artist Théo Braisaz.

 

The concept f the split revolves around unfulfilled religious salvation, the ultimate absence of higher orders or purposes and nature's indifference towards it  It will be released on 12/09/2020 by Wolfmond Production.

HELL-BORN TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM "NATAS LIAH" FEATURING BEHEMOTH`s NERGAL

It has been twelve long years since the release of Darkness, the last full length release from Poland's Hell-Born, but finally the silence is about to be broken! Now signed to Odium Records, Hell-Born are preparing to unleash Natas Liah; according to front man Baal "the best, the most mature, refined, atmospheric Hell-Born album we have ever recorded". Featuring nine dark, venomous songs that blend the extreme arts of black, death and thrash metal in the traditional Hell-Born style, Natas Liah encompasses everything that this respected band have always stood for. 

Co-founders and ever present members of Hell-Born, bassist/vocalist Baal Ravenlock and guitarist Les were both integral parts of the early years of Behemoth, with Baal helping to form the band. Both appeared on the Grom album and Les went on to play on the legendary Satanica as well. That being the case it seems only fitting that Behemoth's Adam 'Nergal' Darski joined them in Creme De La Creme studios - as Baal explains...

"You will be able to hear the voice of Adam Nergal Darski on the song ′Blakk Metal'. The composition is a clear and uncompromising tribute to the times when we created something very important, a celebration of our joint contribution to the shape of the Polish extreme metal scene."

Another link in the chain of steel which binds the stories of Hell-Born and Behemoth, Natas Liah was mixed and mastered by Haldor Grunberg, who was engineer on the revered Behemoth album I Loved You At Your Darkest.

AUTOCATALYTICA RELEASE "POWERCLASHING MAXIMALISM" + SINGLE "ZIPPLER" STREAM

Autocatalytica is a bubbling cauldron of scatter-brained prog-metal insanity helmed by guitarist/vocalist Eric Thorfinnson. The newest release for the band is “Powerclashing Maximalism”, which is coming out on October 16th of this year. In anticipation of the release, Autocatalytica is releasing the single “Zippler” today via its premiere on TheProgSpace (https://youtu.be/ww1Zj0S6CV4).

Psychedelic variegated groovy maniacal ethereality is summed up by Thorfinnson in his own words:  

“'Powerclashing Maximalism' is an expression of the many different facets of progressive and heavy music I am engaging at this point in my life, with little to no regard for thematic consistency between tracks. Each song is a fully realized Island of uniqueness that expresses something totally different from the previous one.”

The single “Zippler” is a mix, pretty much right down the middle of Protest the Hero and the Mars Volta, it’s zippy, groovy, and it has got some chaos thrown in for good measure, written about the illusion of free will. It was a last-minute addition to the rehearsals and decided upon due to the need for something super fast to fill out the record. It features clean vocals from Parliament Owl’s and Telomere’s Devlin Flynn and screams from Plethora’s Gary Walsh.

Formed as a solo project in 2009, as an expressive outlet for Thorfinnson’s abstract angst and penchant for everything over the top. Thorfinnson has always drawn inspiration from a vast collage of different artists resulting in a sound that is sure to surprise and intrigue listeners of all persuasions.

The LP “Powerclashing Maximalism” is the band third and it explores all corners of Autocatalytica’s sound in a tight 36-minute runtime over eight tracks, from the Meshuggah-esque stomp of “Borndun” to the Jazzy Math Rock of “Cheggo”. While at this time Autocatalytica exists solely as a recording project, no one knows what the future holds!

For fans of Devin Townsend, Meshuggah, and Protest The Hero, the full release will be available on October 16th.

Strych:9 released their debut video

Strych:9 is a five-piece heavy music group founded in Tartu, Estonia, in 2018. Their music is characterized by a peculiar mixture of nu-, death- and industrial metal. The newly released debut single and music video "Sacrifice" are part of the upcoming full-length album.

The band's vocalist Kapa comments: “I am very excited because Tartu will soon be represented by a very strong-based project. For some time now, I have been implying to friends that we are creating something fierce, and I am extremely happy that it is finally possible to share the fruits of our work with others. This is the very first music video for me and participating in it was an experience in itself. I am proud of my bandmates, with whom we can realize our common vision.”
