LOMOR RELEASE "SABOUK ROUGE"

Reunion Island thrash metal trio LOMOR is heading to Europe, launching a run of France and Belgium tour dates in support of their new album "Sabouk Rouge," with the trek kicking off at Hellfest. This band will be bringing their raw, Creole‑infused thrash to some of the region’s most respected stages (updated tour dates are listed below).

​The tour supports their latest album, "Sabouk Rouge," released this past February 2026 via Rockshots Records. Produced by the band, recorded and mixed by Sébastien Camhi at Art Music Studio in France, and mastered by Kai Stahlenberg at Kohlekeller Studio in Germany, "Sabouk Rouge" expands LOMOR’s sonic palette while staying true to their primal thrash roots. With more Creole lyrics woven in at fans’ request, the album strengthens its cultural identity as it shifts through a wide range of moods.

“The tracks are all different, each bringing its own atmosphere. It’s still trash, but with a variety of flavors,” says Eric.

​That diversity fuels a record that moves from the title track’s sharp satire of Réunion’s legacy of slavery to the grotesque obsession of “Meet Your Meat,” the ritualistic mysticism of “Sanctuary,” and the blistering critique of religion in “La Haine.” The tone lightens with the street‑racing humor of “La Pouss’,” then darkens again with “Panzram,” exploring the roots of a killer’s hatred. The album revisits Eric’s past with a reimagined “Kit Ta Mère” before closing on “Nevroz,” a reversed, tongue‑in‑cheek remake born from a studio joke.

LOMOR has carved its identity as one of the most distinctive metal acts emerging from the Indian Ocean. Their sound, described by guitarist/vocalist Eric Castelnau (Babouk) as “creole thrash old‑school stuff”, fuses classic 80s thrash aggression with the cultural grit and linguistic identity of Réunion Island.

LOMOR began as a deeply personal project for Eric, who formed the band in 2018 after the passing of his cousin and brother, both former bandmates in his earlier project, Black Babouk. The name Lomor, meaning “The Deads” in Réunion Creole, stands as a tribute to the people and memories that shaped his musical path.

​Joined by drummer Gurvan Cambrai (Typhvs) (also of grind outfit Brvtal trve d'baal) and bassist Micha (member of a local Rage Against the Machine tribute band), the trio has forged a sound rooted in old‑school thrash but sharpened by modern production and raw island energy.

Lomor is a power trio from Reunion Island (France) delivering an explosive blend of old-school thrash, punk, and core metal. Drawing inspiration from Slayer, Testament, and Kreator, the band channels the raw spirit of 80s thrash through modern production and unrelenting stage energy.

Formed in 2018 by Eric Castelnau (vocals, guitars), joined by Gurvan Cambrai (drums) and Mathieu “Micha” Michalina (bass), Lomor quickly became one of the loudest voices in the island’s metal scene. Their first single, “Kanyar L’Enfer” (2021), set the tone for their uncompromising sound, followed by their debut full-length “Perseverance of Sickness” (2022), recorded by Sébastien Camhi (Art Music Studio, France). BLACK was Established in 2006 by Guitarist Rich Garcia Jr and Gregorio Jimenez Jr. in the City of Sacramento, California. Black recorded and released their debut album "United States of War" in 2013. Black performed extensively in support of this album, throughout The west coast sharing the stage with such acts as: Death Angel, Lazarus AD, Bonded By Blood, Archaic and many more.

2015 through 2018 saw the departure and arrival of new and old members. 2018 saw the group take a brief hiatus to reset and move forward with a new lineup...2019 saw the addition of Vocalist Don McMillan III (Habeas Corpus, Mind Furnace).

The group entered the studio with former Habeas Corpus guitarist Tom Jimenez who owns and operates "Audio Edge Recordings" in Sacramento. 2020 saw the Addition of former History Channel contributing Guitarist Austin Elkington...and Bassist Dave Counts. Spring of 2020 also saw the release of a new 4 track offering... Good friend and Possessed Lead Guitarist Claudeous Creamer appears on the 2020 EP "Untouched By Light"

Following the Covid-19 onset in 2020 the group cancelled forthcoming shows and dates with the group Pro-Pain and various others in California. Summer 2020 saw the departure of founding member Rich Garcia Jr. due to ongoing hand and wrist issues.

2021 The group welcomed Guitarist Erik Von Krauss (Dead in Seconds). 2022 saw the departure of bassist Dave Counts due to relocating...and the group welcomed Bassist Jay who later departed in February of 2023. The group welcomes Bassist Kelley Brown (Pierced From Within) in March of 2023. The group returned to the stage in support of a New single released in June 2023 "CONCRETE".

The group releases the Video Recording of their performance of the track "CONCRETE" Live at Goldfields in Roseville. Performing throughout the West coast with such acts as Hatriot, Exmortus, Iron Maidens and the Burning Witches.

The group continues to perform into 2024 with groups such as D.R.I. , various Bay Area artists and The Accused. 2024 also saw the Release of the 3 track ep "Torment Bleeds Inside".

November of 2024 saw the departure of founding member Drummer Gregorio Jimenez Jr. December of 2024 the group Welcomes Drummer Kenny Donovan (Cultural Warfare, Annihilation). The group returns to the stage in 2025 Headlining various venues including taking part in a 3 band bill which Sold out the Sacramento Venue The Boardwalk in June. The Group Releases 2 Lyric videos for the tracks "Witness to Decay" and "I AM THE THORN" with Shaumbra ArtVisuals.

2025 Saw the band partner with Imperative Music Agency and is featured on their 19th Compilation CD featuring Guest artist Kerry King - Imperative Music Compilation was sent to top magazines in Europe and the U.S., and reviews consistently highlighted BLACK as a promising band on this volume.

The Group also appears in a Full interview with Germany´s Legacy Magazine in partnership with Imperative Music Agency.

The Group saw the departure of Bassist Kelley Brown in September of 2025. Black Welcomes bassist Mike Mendenhall (Ashbury Wrath) in October of 2025 and immediately returns to the stage as part of a celebration for Sacra-Metal Records.The label features the groups track "Torment Bleeds Inside" on a double vinyl release featuring Metal bands from the region.

Spring 2026 the Group creates a Business partnership with Imperative Music Agency. 2026 saw the Group release the New Single inspired by The Roman Emperor Caligula "Embrace My Fall – Release date: March 6, 2026. The group continues to grow through the Imperative Music Agency. The group looks forward to forthcoming shows and Festivals in 2026. The Group will enter the studio and record more tracks for Summer releases.

ACERBIC, the searing death-thrash powerhouse from Olympia, Washington, has officially unleashed their debut EP, Abhorrent Atrocities Against All Humankind , available now. Founded in 2013 as a solo project by guitarist Chris Thompson, ACERBIC has evolved into a full-force unit featuring Gabriel Glandon on vocals, Xander Provencher on bass, Chris Hannan on drums, and Thompson holding down guitar duties. Drawing from old-school death metal grit and razor-sharp melodic precision, the band’s sound blends vicious riffing, menacing grooves, and dark, haunting leads into a crushing sonic assault.

"From the very beginning it was clear to us that our debut album's running theme would be more or less waning mental health, psychological unstableness, and even the feeling of ending up crushed. This was already clear in the writing process.

As songwriters, we drew these topics from our own experiences or imaginary madness.

Our wish was to bare our claws right at the beginning, so we included a whopping 11 songs in our first album. Each song is heavier than the last, and it has been fun to fit all kinds of nuances in them.

Nevertheless, we built our songs with a sense of style so that the reasonableness in the songs would remain. I would say that "Mieleni murtama", is in all its madness and its rage, an idyllic experience to the core of intense metal music. In Finnish, of course."

Biography

Founded at the end of 2022, Negaatio has brought in the blink of an eye original tones to the Finnish metal scene, with a fierce and crushing touch.

The five-man group, who have focused their activities in Tampere, create a wide mood palette with their music, which has nuances of hopelessness, rage, and reflection.

In the music of Negaatio, extreme and repulsive topics are not ignored but confronted in all their horror, almost compulsively. 

The heavy playing transports the listener towards a cracking state of mind.

The band has received praise from numerous performances and won bronze at the Emergenza 2025 finals in the Tampere region.

Negaatio firmly believes in its own vision, doing it with the purest passion and offering the heavy metal populace unexpected live energy, a sense of danger, and iron-like skill.

Old school thrash metal band TASKFORCE TOXICATOR release new single

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far way, Taskforce Toxicator went on their way, to experience insane space adventures. After their debut album ‘Laser Samurai‘ and the recent single ‘The Necromancer‘, the band strikes back with ‘Die Alone‘, another head-ripping thrash metal anthem.

Fast guitar riffs and pounding drumbeats meet catchy hooks and melodic guitar leads in this hurricane of a song. “Die Alone” shows that the band took the time since their debut to refine their songwriting, while also raising up their technical versatility. Guitarist Dominik Rothe comments: ‘After “The Necromancer”, “Die Alone” is our second outing in 2026. It’s a real thrash metal anthem that people can sing along to and will be a regular in our live set going forward. It’s not as dark as our previous single and has more of the crossover thrash vibe that we’re known for. It’s fast, it’s aggressive and it’s meant to be played as loud as possible’.

‘Die Alone developed in a very organic way’, Dominik tells about the creation process. ‘When I started with the composition my goal was to create a fast song that still has a lot of melody in it. And I wanted to avoid the fast strumming on the open E string that you find so often in thrash metal songs. Not to say that it’s a bad thing, we do it all the time, haha. But for “Die Alone” I wanted to try out something different, to give it a feeling that we didn’t have in any of our older songs. It’s a quite unique track for us, while still maintaining all our musical trademarks’.

The lyrics are full of social commentary, as playing thrash metal demands, explains Dominik: ‘A lot of people nowadays say stuff like ‘Keep politics out of metal‘ or ‘Metal is apolitical.‘ We absolutely do not agree with this sentiment. Metal, and especially thrash metal, has always been political. Just listen to “War Pigs” by Black Sabbath or “Disposable Heroes” by Metallica, two anti-war songs, that take a clear stand against the insanity of war. ‘Die Alone‘ is about people who exploit and abuse others for their own benefit. They destroy everything around them, with no regards to the consequences of their actions. And in our song, they are finally punished for this, since they die in pain and they Die Alone ‘.

Taskforce Toxicator started out in 2017 to bring their vision of old school thrash metal to life. In their songs, a group of out-of-space mercenaries tells their adventurous tales. Abduction by aliens, battles in space, laser katanas – Taskforce Toxicator will draw you into a universe of crazed characters. Serving as a memento of our society, this dystopian vision does not hold back on criticism on current global political affairs.

Since they started out in 2017, Taskforce Toxicator released multiple EPs as well as their critically acclaimed debut album “Laser Samurai” in 2023. They also played shows supporting Sodom, Tankard and Destruction among other well-known bands. For 2026 the band plans to release their second album and will go on tour with german speed metal legends Warrant and Knife.

Back in the late 1980s Toranaga were one of the prime movers on the UK thrash metal scene, leading the pack alongside the likes of Sabbat, Onslaught and Xentrix. Two acclaimed albums – Bastard Ballads, released on Peaceville Records and God’s Gift, released on Chrysalis Records – and live shows with an array of legendary bands including Manowar, Venom and Saxon, should have seen Toranaga rising to dizzying heights. However, fate and misfortune intervened and the band slipped into a lengthy hiatus. There was a brief rebirth under the name The Bastard Son Of Toranaga, with the punishing Righteous Retribution album emerging in 2013, but this incarnation soon dissolved. It was 2024 before a new Toranaga line-up was unveiled, under the name Toranaga UK; lead, as ever, by indefatigable vocalist Mark Duffy. A superb EP, A New Order, was released in 2025 and Toranaga UK are not about to retreat quietly back into the darkness. This band from New York, formed in 1987 can be characterized by a brutal sound that has evolved throughout the years adding some groove metal and death metal elements to their original sound. The band has released three albums that are classics of the style: "Tortured Existence" from 1990, "Epidemic of Violence" from 1992 and "Time Bomb" from 1994. After the third album the band broke up from 1995 to 2016 before reuniting. Since then, they have not released a new studio album. Their most recent line-up feature three classic members: Steve Reynolds on bass and vocals; James Reilly on guitars and Derek Sykes on guitars. Plus, they have added Angel Cotte on drums. You can´t miss this band if you are into intense and aggressive thrash metal.

VIO-LENCE

Another really underrated band with killer musicianship and total power. Maybe you have listened about the band because it featured Machine Head´s Robb Flynn in their classic era. It has also featured Phil Demmel on guitars who plays in Kerry King´s band and also on Metal Allegiance. Besides he has played and toured with Overkill, Lamb of God and Testament among others. Vio-lence has released three classic albums: "Torture Tactics" in 1988, "Oppressing the Masses" in 1990 and "Nothing to Gain" in 1993. The band went on a long hiatus after the third album and they reunited a couple of times before their more prolonged reunion that started in 2019. Since then they have released the EP "Let The World Burn" from 2022 and also a demo compilations in 2023. Their line-up only features Sean Killian on vocals from their classic era and they have added Ira Black on guitars and vocals who playd with Lizzy Borden, Vicious Rumors and Dio Disciples among others; Nick Souza on drums; Jeff Salgado on Bass and Claudeous Creamer on guitars who has played with Possessed, Sadus and Dragonlord. We strongly recommend to not miss these guys on the Brutal Assault Fest.

 METAL CHURCH

A classic thrash metal band that has been around since 1980. The band has released incredible thrash and power metal albums throughout all its history. The band features only original member Kurdt Vanderhoof on guitars and long time guitarist Rick Van Zandt who has been on the band since 2008. Besides, Metal Church has a killer rhythm section featuring former Megadeth bassist David Ellefson and Flotsam and Jetsam, Fifth Angel drummer, Ken Mary. Plus the band will be on the Brutal Assault presenting their new vocalist Brian Allen who is in the band since 2025 and is replacing the charismatic Mike Howe who passed away in 2021.

MORTAL SIN

Coming from Australia this is another truly underrated band that is an essential part of metal history in Oceania. Formed in 1985 the band has released classic thrash metal albums such as "Face of Despair" from 1989 and "Every Dog Has It´s Day" from 1991. After some break ups and reunions the band is back since 2025 featuring original members Andy Eftichiou on bass and Mat Maurer on vocals. This line-up also features longtime members Nathan Shea and Ryan Huthnance on guitars. Plus they are welcoming drummer George Delinicolis who has played in Bastardizer and Bane of Isildur. The band´s latest album is "Psychology of Death" from 2011 so maybe we can expect some new music from them.
