For Fans of Triptykon, At The Gates, Dark Tranquility

Heavily inspired by HP Lovecraft and the occult and things that lurk in the dark. Fredrik decided to bring together 4 people to form a melodic death metal band heavily inspired and influenced by these things.
And thus Curse of Eibon was spawned from worlds beyond , delivering a message from the great old ones.
Sweden’s TRIBULATION are today launching the second single “Hour of the Wolf” from their upcoming album “Where the Gloom Becomes Sound”, which will be released via Century Media Records (worldwide excluding North America) on January 29th, 2021.

TRIBULATION commented: “The Hour Of The Wolf is upon us! Feast your eyes on this, the second single of our upcoming album…”.

TRIBULATION entered Linus Björklund's Studio Ryssviken in April and exited (informally) nearly two months later. The group - guitarists Adam Zaars and Jonathan Hultén, Johannes Andersson (vocals/bass), and Oscar Leander (drums) - used the first 10 days of their studio time to rehearse. Once the bone-oil had sufficiently run its course, the group and co-producer Jamie Elton started to hammer into the rudiments of the recording process. Elton, who also serves as TRIBULATION's soundman and is a long-time friend, took the reins from Martin Ehrencrona, who helmed the 2018 Down Below sessions. Together, they crafted a well-appointed production, one that's luxuriously grim and auricularly inviting. “Where the Gloom Becomes Sound” was then given to Grammy-nominated producer Tom Dalgety (Ghost, Rammstein) to mix at Psalm Studios. Once the mixing was finished - Dalgety would send over versions from his studio in Wales - TRIBULATION re-enlisted Magnus Lindberg at Redmount Studios in Stockholm to master.
“Where the Gloom Becomes Sound” will be available in the following formats:
When one finds themselves at the proverbial crossroads - face to face with the Devil himself - who wouldn’t choose the left hand path? Honestly, evil is too enticing, too strong, and Hell has the best music anyway. Hailing from Portland, Oregon, heavy metal mongrels BEWITCHER made their pact with Lucifer years ago, and have been walking the dark path ever since.
Today BEWITCHER are unveiling the front cover for their upcoming Century Media Records debut and 3rd studio album, “Cursed Be Thy Kingdom”, which was done by Paolo Girardi (Power Trip and many more). “Cursed Be Thy Kingdom” is set for a release on April 16th, 2021. Keep your eyes and ears open for a new song shortly.
M. von Bewitcher (vox & guitars) comments:
“We summoned the mighty Paolo Girardi to deliver us a cover that visually depicted a few of the lyrical themes within the album. It has a Renaissance-era vibe to it, but it also incorporates some nods to the band’s past. It’s filled with all kinds of omens, harbingers, and all that cool dark, evil looking shit that is a necessity in any heavy metal album cover of merit! Get your dose of black magic on April 16th, when ‘Cursed Be Thy Kingdom’ is finally turned loose upon the world!“
Recorded at The Captain’s Quarters in Ventura, California by Armand John Anthony (Night Demon), and mixed by Cameron Webb (Motörhead, Megadeth), “Cursed Be Thy Kingdom” is a powerhouse, heavy-metal-rock-’n'-roll record forged in the white hot fires of Hell.
Rock ’n' roll is the Devil’s music, and through “Cursed Be Thy Kingdom”, BEWITCHER invites you to join them at the crossroads, drink from the chalice of rock ’n' roll, then ritualistically sell your soul to the dark lord himself. M. von Bewitcher puts it best, “The Devil is always ready to make the deal…”
Danish Death-Metal BAEST announce the release of their new studio album “Necro Sapiens” coming out on March 5th while dropping the bone-crushing first single “Abattoir”. The band comments
"Necro Sapiens is ultimately the most BAEST-sounding record. The influences are there, but this is by far the record, where we sound the most like ourselves. The best BAEST there is!"
About “Abattoir:
“Far from earth and out of reach, The Abbatoir lays the foundation of the necro sapiens enslaved existence. A nocturnal breed inhabits this parliament, who has one goal in sight; misanthropic and totalitarian domination.”
BAEST come from Aarhus in Denmark and have successfully established themselves as one of the country’s most promising metal acts in recent years. While deeply rooted in straight-forward classic death metal inspired by genre legends like Dismember, Entombed, Morbid Angel, Death, and Bolt Thrower, the 2015 formed band evolved from a Danish underground phenomenon to an internationally touring act (2018 tour with Abbath, 2019 EU/UK trek with Decapitated). Also, at festivals like Summer Breeze, Copenhell, Ruhrpott Metal Meeting, Roskilde, they left audiences impressed and begging for more. After their already praised debut album “Danse Macabre” the band took it to the next level in 2019 and delivered “Venenum” where they refined their already steamroller-like signature sound.
With the expectation-bar already set so high for their next record BAEST truly drops their most anticipated and most important album so far. Stay tuned for more info!
Virginia-based crossover maniacs ENFORCED open their Century Media account with their blistering new album, “Kill Grid”. Informed by an incredible cross-section of extremes—from thrash and punk to death metal and hardcore—the emergent outfit drop a nine-song cluster-bomb of thrashing death on apathetic times.
Today they are unleashing a first taste of “Kill Grid”, check out the visualizer clip for “Hemorrhage” that will pay extra detail to the striking artwork by Joe Petagno (Motörhead, Vitriol and many more): https://youtu.be/cLh5Cyy-KAY
The band comments on the track: “The first half is about the death of innocence, or the death of an innocent person, due to the surge of distrust, outrage, and skepticism of a society”, says Knox Colby (vocals). “While people arrogantly and pompously saber rattle over trivial things, real people are getting hurt and caught in the crossfire.” Guitarist Will Wagstaff further explains: “Musically we wanted to write a song that was driving and pummeling and the original vibe to the beginning was ‘Death Camps’ Cro-Mags inspired. This was one of the first songs written and completed for the album.”
Preorders will be launched in early 2021.
“Kill Grid” came together over a two-year period while ENFORCED were marauding halls and dive bars across the East Coast and Canada. Indeed, inspiration came from different directions, but playing live with bands like Sacred Reich, Red Death, Iron Reagan, All Out War, and Integrity shaped what was to come out of the Richmonders. While it was the previous output that attracted the attention of Century Media, it’s “Kill Grid”, that’s going to put ENFORCED on top-lists of circle pit lunatics around the globe. To track their sophomore full-length, ENFORCED enlisted long-time friend and studio maven Bob Quirk (Iron Reagan) to engineer, as well as Philadelphia-based studio whiz Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Cavalera Conspiracy, Pissed Jeans, Eternal Champion, Ghostemane, Code Orange) to mix and master.
Formed in Richmond in 2017 out of shreds of disbanded hardcore and punk bands, ENFORCED quickly found their calling between the undying support of regional punk/hardcore scenes and their respective record collections. Whether it’s Sacred Reich and Integrity or Bolt Thrower and Amebix, “Pure Crossover Death,” as ENFORCED call their devastating din, devastatingly speared its way through two demos (“Demo 2017” and “Retaliation”) and their no-holds-barred debut, “At the Walls”.
Italy's Gothic/Doom band Hadal release lyric video for "Red Again" (taken from album "December" / Planet K Records): https://youtu.be/bGi_uie7rVU
Teo [Bass] about the video:
"This song is a tale of passion, the burning flame of our emotions. A pagan feeling is here, driving the lyrics to the marriage of the opposites. Light embraces darkness, as the sun fades away and the moon shines upon us. Moreover, the red colour is a link to our previous album, Painful Shadow. Talking about the structure, there is a gothic verse that evolves in an almost melodic death metal finale with a fierce chorus. The video creation was entrusted to Max, one of our guitar players."
The Hadal project was born in the end of 2009 from the ashes of So Cold, in a depressive Italian town named Trieste. While the former band was mainly inspired by the Finnish gothic metal movement, the new ensemble tried to find a more personal view in the extreme musical landscape. At the beginning this was the only statement about compositions and arrangements. The Hadal main core wanted to merge atmospheric verses and dark metal riffs, to create a slow groove with melodic yet powerful guitars. At that point, the definition of a new vocalist was fundamental, there was the intention of using both clean and raw voices to convey different emotions. The first experiment was carried out with Alessia, four tracks were recorded in 2012. The Dark Water promo stimulated some live activity and good hopes. Unfortunately, she decided to move in the UK for studying. One year passed by, new songs were written and played. Alberto entered the band in 2013 and changed the achieved perspective. His strong personality and charisma charged the entire project with creative energy. Performances were convincing and enthusiastic to drive them to the recording of a new promo, The Obscure I (2014 – self released). Many live gigs and nice reviews later, Hadal decided to produce their first full-length, "Painful Shadow" (2017 – Sliptrick Records). This album was inspired from the true origins of the band. Every detail was a tribute to the '90ies, starting from the composing process and ending with the sound production. Years have passed by and Hadal decided to record something new. “December” is a compendium of their history; it is a greeting to ten years of activity and coexistence. They have rearranged some old tracks and composed some new melodies, keeping in mind one vision: a deeper sounding matter. This is their way to conceive metal music, it is melancholic and gloomy, always linked to their inner tragedies. Despite their inclination for the cold winter season the overall result is warm and analogue, with no interest in overproduction. In certain circumstances vocal interpretations pay their tribute to the Mediterranean lyrical tradition, of course the menacing growl is still there to equilibrate the texture. All the tracks have been mixed and mastered at Track Terminal Studio by Francesco “Bardy” Bardaro, who has proven to be a real sonic institution in the northeast Italian landscape (Damned Pilots, Tytus, Concrete Jelly).
Post scriptum: we remember shortly that Franco was also part of the Italian death metal legend Necrosphere, while Teo played even in the first Rhapsody incarnation, Thundercross with Luca Turilli and Alex Staropoli.
