Following on from their 2020 EP, Rotting Sanctum, A Pretext To Human Suffering have returned with a first full length album of their complex and punishing, trademark technical, brutal death metal. A Pretext To Human Suffering started life as a solo project in 2019, the spawn of vocalist, guitarist and song writer Chris Mathis’ fevered imagination. However the beast quickly grew from those isolated origins, with Wes Van Hook (Sold Soul, ex-Lord of War, Inhuman Atrocities), Beto Vipe (Devour the Unborn, Defleshed and Gutted) and Spencer Atkinson-Del Puppo (ex-Cryptic Enslavement) adding their considerable musical muscle to the ranks. Yet even knowing the pedigree of the musicians involved in A Pretext To Human Suffering, nothing could have prepared fans for the decimation and destruction that is Endless Cycle Of Suffering.
