Long running German festival Summer Breeze have revealed the daily lineups for the 2023 edition. The festival will take place in August 16th - 19th in Dinkelsbühl, Germany. You can check the line-up on the poster above.
The organizers say: "Here comes the hotly sought after daily lineups incl. the tickets that come with it. For those who can’t make it to the whole festival this year, here are four options for a musical day trip to Dinkelsbühl"
The album takes its name from the Nineteenth Century publishing series called "Penny Dreadful" which featured horror stories that, from time to time, were inspired by real events.
In the same way, the songs of this CD deal with disasters such as the one in Chernobyl ("Genetic Scars") or despicable happenings such as John Reginald Christie murders ("10 Rillington Place").
This work can be considered as a sort of collection of horror stories who crossed the border of fantasy and trespassed on the real world.

MINSTRELS OF SORROW is a blend between Heavy Metal and Melodic Doom Metal, with Female vocals. Sadness, anger and fear are used as a path to creativity, then share the resulting catarsis.
Led by guitarist extraordinaire Pat Hawkins (THAETAS, ABERRATED, NEEDLEPUSHER, KYRIOS) and bass virtuoso Kyle Linderman, New York's ASYSTOLE debut with an album of furious death metal that doesn't sacrifice atmosphere for technique. In the grooves of "Siren To Blight" there is an abundance of both, thanks to an articulated but fluid songwriting, brilliant and open to contamination.
If the influences are those of GORGUTS, VIRUS, KRALLICE, CRYPTOPSY and ANATA, the way of stitching them together in a coherent and recognizable style is all due to Hawkins, Linderman, drummer James Applegate (REPLICANT, WINDFAERER), and vocalist/lyricist John Dunn IV (ABOMINISM, DARK WATERS END). With a progressive metal approach, ASYSTOLE strung together a series of brutal and bizarre but memorable riffs and solos, counterpointed by ferocious and shattering rhythms. The lyrics, on the other hand, are curiously reflective and almost philosophical in portraying the illusion of goodness in humanity, particularly the struggle of man to achieve true goodness only to suffer or cause suffering in trying.
Mixed and mastered by Colin Marston, ASYSTOLE's "Siren To Blight" is a creature that pulsates with life, an unstoppable, bloodthirsty shapeshifting monster that in the throes of painful convulsions will sink its fangs into your tender brain to suck it out.

The story unfolds in ancient Greece, one dreadful night when a mother and daughter were lost into the flames of their worship; their praying mutters becoming their eulogy when the fire of their offering candles sealed their fate.
Ashes and piles of coal was what remained of them when the tragic father returned, the Priest. How ironic to be denied all you ever loved by the same gods you worship. Manic laughs and cries escaped his mouth as he kneeled upon the ashes of all he held dear. This funeral pyre burnt out his faith.
Desperate he began to wander away from civilization, losing himself inside the forests, where all kind of creatures dwelled. Satyrs and Nymphs, Centaurs and illegitimate offspring of the gods, the outcasts of society, were excited to welcome yet another soul into their circle. Some offered spiritual healing, through alcohol and manic dance, while others insisted that he fed the needs of his body, the most hidden sexual desires. Yet, both remedies could lead to a horrible demise, should he become enslaved by them. The tale of Marsyas that defied Apollo with his musical talent and the nymph Echo that became a victim to the devouring love of Pan, woke him up from the trance.
His only hope was to follow another forest whisper, a rumour about the Philosopher, an all-knowing entity hidden on the top of the mountain, long forgotten by a world desperate to relinquish the truths of the past. But not as desperate as he was to uncover them. Though restless, he must learn what lies beyond his painful existence, who weaves the fate of men and his own.

"Homo Deus" is a concept Album and the lyrical Theme starts where our previous Unique Leader Records releases „Revive the Throne“ and "Strain of Gods" ended.
Humanity is slowly recovering from being on the brink of extinction after the big fallout on "Annihilation of Mankind". More and more people forget how hard the reconstruction was and how much suffering had to be endured. The greed for profit and the striving for power causes mankind to exploit the planet to the maximum. The garbage piles up to the sky, tales of clean water can only be taken from the remaining books. But mankind strives for more and does not become saturated, although it lives in abundance. This behavior is not tolerable and the true Creator shows his face to cancel the project "humanity". How will this battle be decided? Who will be the winner? Find out on "Homo Deus".
ARRIVAL OF AUTUMN absorb the icy emotion of their surroundings in a hard-hitting hybrid of heavy metal proficiency, metalcore intensity, and skyscraping melodic sensibility. The group channel this energy on their second full-length offering, Kingdom Undone which will be unleashed on May 26th via Nuclear Blast Records.
“After many obstacles and times of uncertainty we are reenergized, refocused and ready to finally show the world what we have been working on! Kingdom Undone is Arrival Of Autumn firing on all cylinders. This is our masterpiece and we can’t wait to play these songs for you on the road!”
Today, the band set the stage with the incendiary fretwork and pummeling drums that erupts throughout “Scars.”. The contagious melody will lead listeners on an energetic journey that will leave them shouting along “Why don’t you show your scars?”
Jamison Friesen adds, “We are very excited to release the first track off our upcoming album Kingdom Undone! Scars is about being real with the people around you and to stop pretending to be something you’re not. It doesn’t matter what’s on the outside, it’s about having the courage not to hide who you are! We look forward to playing it on our upcoming tours!”
ARRIVAL OF AUTUMN began the recording of Kingdom Undone in August of 2021 at Mark Lewis Studios in Hendersonville, Tennessee & at their own studio in Grande Prairie AB, and concluded in December 2021. The album was engineered by the band and Mark Lewis who also was in change of producing, mixing, and mastering. The artwork for the album was created by Travis Smith.
Next month, ARRIVAL OF AUTUMN will hit the road with labelmates and Bay Area thrash legends HEATHEN. The "Empire Of The Blind" tour will kick off on March 9th in Rhode Island and will travel up and down the east coast making stops in Chicago, Atlanta and Orlando before concluding in Philadelphia on March 26th.
Melodic Power Thrashers AMONG THESE ASHES will release new single "The Enemy in I" on April 21, packaged with b-side track "Sirens," a cover of the Savatage classic. Artwork for the new single will be revealed on social media in a series of fragments March 22-27, culminating in the full reveal on March 28, along with the release of a lyric video for "Sirens."
The band released the following statement concerning the forthcoming single package:
"A year after releasing our debut album, Dominion Enthroned, we return with our newest track, The Enemy in I. This track lyrically chronicles the woes of self-destruction. We worship at the altar of those who paved this musical path for us, and in that spirit, we've included a cover of a Savatage classic, Sirens, as a B-side track to this release. Both tracks display our signature attributes with pummeling aggression contrasted by thematic melodies and harmony. We cannot wait to bring these cacophonous offerings to the ravenous
metal hordes."
In other news, the band just released a lyric video for a reworked version of "A Veil of Black," a track from Dominion Enthroned, at youtu.be/Dt8CsNn7QdQ.
The new version of "A Veil of Black" features Brooke Rousseau of Lady Luna and the Devil on vocals with AMONG THESE ASHES lead vocalist, JP Abboud. The video was created by Ross Morgan. The song is included as a bonus track on Alone Records' February 28 CD reissue of Dominion Enthroned. Pre-orders are available at this location.
Dominion Enthroned, which was released in early 2022, is available to stream in its entirety at the following locations:
Among These Ashes is a melodic power/thrash metal band hailing from Detroit, MI. The central focus of this band is creating stellar, highly-memorable metal songs. The band’s sound is crushingly heavy and punctuated by cerebral arrangements, thought-provoking lyrics, and dynamic shifts in tempo and aggression. The band’s debut musical offering, Dominion Enthroned, is a conceptual tour de force inspired by modern societal parallels and struggles.
U.S Heavy Metal quartet CHILDREN OF THE REPTILE have released "Last Words (Ruin's Ride)," the second single from forthcoming album Heavy is the Head. Check it out at the following links:
CHILDREN OF THE REPTILE will release Heavy is the Head on April 7.
Though they are proudly part of what's now called the New Wave of Traditional Heavy Metal, CHILDREN OF THE REPTILE aren't simply aping styles from the 70s and 80s. Taking a page out of the book of Manilla Road and calling themselves "American Epic Heavy Metal," these four travellers have been crushing the Southeast United States for over a decade now.
If you want the riffs of Metallica, the twin leads of Thin Lizzy or Iron Maiden, the attitude of Judas Priest, the progressive leanings of Mastodon, and the vibes of Manilla Road, then you must check out the best kept secret from the swamps of the Cape Fear: CHILDREN OF THE REPTILE.
On March 3rd the UK's kings of caveman slam, Colpocleisis, will release their new album, Elegant Degradation, through Reality Fade Records. Impatiently anticipated by fans of musical extremes, this gruesome collection of grotesquely heavy, slamming brutality will leave a never healing, infected wound on the flesh of 2023. Today, the band offer one last morsel of rotten flesh to the ravenous hordes in the form of single 'Discumblobulated' which has reared its ugly head at Slam Worldwide for your listening pleasure...
Speaking about what to expect from their latest warped offspring the band commented:
"'Discumblobulated' sees Colpocleisis draw upon the extreme ends of their influences, from brutal caveman slam with tech influenced flourishes. Thematically it continues to explore more horrid depths of humanity (or lack thereof) present in modern society. Featuring some outrageously heavy riffage this track sees Colpocleisis pummel and pound it's listeners to dust!"
What more could you want?
"Elegant Degradation by Colpocleisis is a brutal, diversified, direct album with viscera involved. A true tribute to Brutal Death Metal of many flavors and colors. Straight to the core." - METALLERIUM
My mind is coming undone…I’m losing all sense of myself as I scrabble through the dust and dirt, the darkened rooms within these four walls that have become my world. I hear the family howling, feeding, laughing…but never see them; just the rotting remains of their meals slung in corners. I am thankful for that. My mind is coming undone…home James and don’t spare the horses spare the rod and spoil the child boil the child in the flayed vat of horse flesh and…I hear them again as I gnaw on leftovers. New food has arrived and the hammer is at work. I retreat to my safe space behind the sofa and cover my ears. My mind is coming undone…
Dragged from the darkness by Adam Watts (Beef Conspiracy) and Tom Bradfield (Twitch Of The Death Nerve), heretic plague is the sonic embodiment of nightmares, madness and extreme violence. The sounds that inhabit debut album Context Is A Stumbling Corpse walk a tightrope over the bottomless chasm of insanity, with the listener bound to their back. A furious conflagration of death metal and grindcore, infested with infectious riffs and ridden with monstrous grooves, these brilliantly crafted songs will lure you into their inescapable trap. From the overwhelming, brain-rupturing adrenaline rush of ‘Skull Crawler’ to the malicious stabbing and rolling rhythms of ‘Briefcase Full Of Cutlery’, Context Is A Stumbling Corpse is a genuine work of warped genius. Delivering more than just a payload of pulverising power, more than a demonstration of wildly imaginative, masterful musicianship – heretic plague will immerse you in an atmosphere of dread and lunatic logic that will have you clinging to the crumbling edges of rational thought.
Mixed and mastered by the band’s own Tom Bradfield, who has previously applied those skills to releases from Imperial Execration, Iniquitous Savagery, Twitch Of The Death Nerve and more, Context Is A Stumbling Corpse is blessed with a cavernous, blade-wielding sound that infuses the songs with a demented, desperate energy. Housed in troubling, intriguing artwork that will add fuel to the flames of your darkest imaginings, heretic plague is the complete package – perfect in its malformed, malignant magnificence. Selfmadegod Records will open the door to this house of horrors on April 7th so don’t miss your invitation to a world of grinding insanity.

Hailing from central Scotland, Ingraves are a band of remarkable power and intensity. Their brand of gritty, raw metalcore is infused with a fierce determination to tackle difficult questions and give honest answers, to bare their wounds unashamed and offer a strong, supporting hand to those lost in the killing vortex of emotional struggle. This is not easy listening and there are no fake smiles to hide behind. With their debut EP Ingraves present a bloody, uncensored trip through the black hell of the Human Abyss.
The five songs that together complete the bleak, horrifying architecture of Human Abyss send you spinning through the darkness into a pit of despair, rage, rejection and nerve-shredding anxiety. Riffs are delivered like traumatic hammer blows from every angle; they circle, slithering, then attack with horrendous force. The ragged, rabid vocals unleash a venomous torrent of grief and fury, an acidic storm that dissolves defences and layers of pretence. Completed by a granite rhythm section that grinds the blackened, broken spirit into a new resolve, hard as diamonds, Ingraves are an explosion of fearsome, cathartic savagery. There’s a sense of redemption to be had within the sonic violence, but the transformative process is going to hurt.
While the global pandemic and despondent slough of the accompanying lockdown restrictions sucked the will to create from many bands, Ingraves embraced the unnerving uncertainty and battered it into a truly intimidating set of songs. They emerged bruised but unbroken, carrying Human Abyss with them. Step into the darkness of Human Abyss on March 10th, face your demons and beat them down.
I have walked through the flames, surrounded by the cacophony of conflict and the turmoil of the world. I have passed through the shadows of night, beneath the boughs of the ancient trees with my gaze always on the distant horizon, where dawn begins to break. With each step my cares and sadnesses drift from me like falling leaves and the pattern of my journey, the sense behind the chaos is revealed. I become lighter as Valhalla draws near. The accumulated burdens of a life lift from my shoulders. I am coming home at last...
“And of that second kingdom will I sing Wherein the human spirit doth purge itself…”
- Blood In My Vein - Numeron
The search for peace, the quest for understanding that lasts a lifetime is explored in the layers of sound and emotion that form the enthralling second album from Indonesia’s Numeron. Road to Valhalla is an accomplished entwining of intensity, passion and hypnotic reverie. The songs enfold you in their lustrous embrace, drawing a veil across the constant noise and relentless activity of the world. The overwhelming rush of emotion that cascades from ‘Valhalla’ washes the trivialities of life away, carrying you to a place of reflection, the sharp potency of the feelings evoked by ‘Lustre’ borders on the painful as it opens your heart with deft, razor blade strokes. As the drums thrash with a burning fervour, sending you racing across a night sky of revelation, the guitars bathe you in a cascade of star dust and a voice cries from the darkness in desperation, yearning and ecstasy. From the opening mist and thunder of ‘Light Upon The Ground’ to the final softly dying notes of ‘Epifora’, Road to Valhalla is a transformative experience that will leave you quietly stunned.
Taking flight from the brilliant, gleaming peaks of 2021s Void album, Numeron have evolved into a higher form with Road To Valhalla. They have tapped into a vein of sabled sorcery that can open eyes, capture hearts and let souls fly. Recorded at the Orvius Soundlab and mixed and mastered by Febri Antonia (Dusk In Silence, Technikill etc) Road To Valhalla sounds sublime, with the soft, freezing power of deep drifted snow. With this album Numeron have blended the entrancing powers of post and atmospheric black metal and the results are breathtaking. With the combined support of Meuse Music Records and Tragedy Productions, on April 28th Numeron will take their first steps on the Road To Valhalla…join them on their journey to the light.

We knew when we started writing that we really wanted to make something darker and heavier that was still uniquely Entheos, and we knew that we wanted to make a record that really came from our hearts and captured where we want to take this band,” explains vocalist Chaney Crabb.
“The new album also has a strong ‘trippy’ vibe, not in a generic sense but meaning when you are done listening to it you feel like you’ve gone on a journey,” adds multi-instrumentalist Navene Koperweis. “I’ve always loved albums that gave me that feeling. I can’t say we set out to have the experience, it just sort of happened and that’s something I’m proud of.“
Having stripped down to a two-piece in 2020, this has helped to streamline the band and allow the core members to make the music they want to with no compromise, which is clearly to their betterment. Koperweis – who takes the role of drummer in the band’s live lineup – has long written most of the guitar parts, so it was not a radically different writing process, but allowed him the freedom of complete control. “I tell people this album is more of everything that we do, except this time it’s deeper in all directions,” says Koperweis. “We’re no longer dipping our toe in the pool on certain aspects, when we decide to go somewhere, we fucking go there.“
Relying less on synths and electronic production than on previous releases, a lot of the more atmospheric elements are contributed by guitar, and there is even an acoustic guitar for the first time on an Entheos record. Crabb has also pushed herself harder than ever before, interested in consistently practicing to find new pitches and timbres in her voice, and she has most certainly extended the range of her screaming. Using pitched screaming to add melodic lines in many places, this is also the first Entheos record on which she has sung.
When it came to penning the lyrics, Crabb knew that she was going to write about her own “experience as a human” and approach the album based on the lingering awareness many people have, that there is so much world out there and there are so many different experiences to have – but there is so little time. However, this idea really hit home in August 2021 when she got into an accident on her electric scooter on the day she started tracking vocals.
“I do not remember how I fell, but when I woke up I was really badly hurt. Gravel was embedded in my lower lip and had severed the inside of my chin from my face, my upper lip was completely split open to the point that my teeth were visible, my nasal septum bone was split in two and my nose was completely bent to one side – I ended up with 100 stitches in my face and was unable to do vocals for three months. I lost all abilities to move my nose and lips for those months, and to this day I still haven’t regained complete control.“
Because of this accident she found herself in a strange place mentally, juggling between feeling truly happy and grateful for every second that she was alive and got to spend with the people who she loved, but also feeling completely depressed, because of all of the uncertainty surrounding her injuries. She shares, “The album took form as a journey from the depths of depression into gratitude, but ultimately as an examination of our time and how precious it is.“
With Koperweis handling production duties and Mark Lewis (Whitechapel, The Black Dahlia Murder) mixing the record, all of the drums were tracked by Zack Ohren at Castle Ultimate, and Koperweis tracked guitars and vocals. They also recruited former member Evan Brewer to supply the bass. Though committed to their status as a two-piece, the band does have a live lineup with Brian James (ex-Fallujah) and Robert Brown (ex-Slaughter to Prevail) providing guitar, maintaining their reputation for being a killer live band. Having delivered the best record of their career they are also in a very good place mentally, but they do not get ahead of themselves.

A compilation of demos, remasters and unreleased tracks.
A lot of the ambience has been stripped from these older/demo versions of tracks, something that I feel makes them rawer and more chaotic in a way.
Some tracks never made it past the demo phase or had some cool alternate versions, others I wanted to revisit.
This will most likely be the only compilation release I'll do for Zkarv as most tracks in future will follow more of a conceptual writing pattern.
I always love releasing demos for things, it gives you a lot of freedom for writing, mixing and allows music to be raw and unfiltered, so I'll consider this the last Zkarv demo release.
Some of my favourite music in the world are demo releases.
The first track and the last five are all original.
Tracks 2 - 8 are demos, remasters & alternative versions of existing tracks.
Metal Blade Records is pleased to announce the signing of Atlanta, Georgia’s highly experimental, progressive death metal band, Dååth.
“After 12 years on hiatus, we agreed that if we’re bringing DÅÅTH back, we’re doing it right. That’s why we’re so excited to announce that we’ve signed to our dream label, Metal Blade! From day one, they understood and backed our vision for the future, have an inextinguishable passion for the genre, an incredible staff, and are one of the reasons Metal is on the map and thriving. We’re excited to add to the growing metal history Slagel & Co have forged with unstoppable determination. DÅÅTH signing to Metal Blade couldn’t be a better pairing – we’re taking this to its full potential, letting nothing and nobody stand in our way. If you’re not going all out, what’s the point?” – Dååth
Check out the single No Rest No End HERE and go to metalblade.com/daath to see where you can stream or purchase the track.
The band began their journey in 1999 and stayed busy for just over a decade before taking a hiatus in 2011. In that time, Dååth released 4 studio albums (Futility – self-released 2004, The Hinderers – Roadrunner Records 2007, The Concealers – Century Media 2009, Dååth – Century Media 2010) and toured throughout the world with band’s like Dark Funeral, Naglfar, Zyklon, Dragonforce, Goatwhore, Chimaira, Throwdown, Dying Fetus, and Devildriver making a lasting impression with the metal community and its many subgenres. Dååth also landed a coveted spot on Ozzfest playing before tens of thousands of fans in outdoor amphitheaters across the US in addition to the infamous and long-running metal tour, Summer Slaughter.
In their time, Dååth managed to create an extensive fanbase worldwide with their unique brand of experimental death metal, which makes it no surprise that the metal community lit up once rumors of the band’s return began to surface online. The metal community only continued to buzz with support as members began making posts teasing new material. The metal world made it clear they were ready for the return of one of the strongest progressive death metal bands of the first part of the 00′s.
Dååth is now back with an updated lineup and stronger than ever, which can be heard in the group’s new single “No Rest No End” that will see digital release by Metal Blade Records on February 22, 2023. The track features guest solos by Rafael Trujillo (Obsidious, ex-Obscura, instagram.com/rafaeltrujillo_official) and Spiro Dussias (instagram.com/spirodussias) and was mixed by Jens Bogren (Sepultura, At The Gates, Kreator, Dimmu Borgir), Mastered by Tony Lindgren (Enslaved, Katatonia, Leprous, Wardruna), with Vocal Production by Andrew Wade (A Day To Remember, Motionless In White, Wage War), and Engineering by John Douglass (Megadeth, Alluvial, The Contortionist). Fans can expect to hear the next stage in evolution of Dååth‘s brand of melodic and progressive death metal.
“‘No Rest No End’ is the reason DÅÅTH is back.” comments guitarist Eyal Levi. “When the writing began, I was looking for proof that we still had it. The last thing I want to do is put out music that sounds like a bad cover of our back catalog. When this song came together, it was clear that we needed to see this through. ‘No Rest No End’ is the pinnacle of everything I’ve wanted to do with this band and features our full lineup firing on all cylinders: crushing riffs, orchestrated to the max, an infectious chorus, insane solos, my favorite metal drummer, baroque insanity, signature clean guitars, and an incredible mix. It’s the most ambitious song we’ve ever written or recorded and we’re just getting started. Enjoy!“
Vocalist Sean Z adds, “The first time I heard ‘No Rest No End’ in demo form, I was blown away! I immediately knew exactly what I wanted to do vocally. The words practically flew off the page. During every step of the creation process, the song was an obvious masterpiece. It’s meant to be heard, and it’s meant to be played loud!“
Jesse Zuretti who handles orchestration, synth, and guitar says that “‘No Rest No End’ is what happens when everyone involved pushes themselves to their extremes. In metal, we often pride ourselves on how difficult something is to master – and this song is the pinnacle to that thought. We all showed up at our very best to make ‘No Rest No End’ our masterpiece. From the orchestration standpoint, we took this to cinematic & baroque levels in one song. The guitars were also deeply challenging and equally fulfilling to track. Not to mention the Michelin rated guest solos.” While the band’s new drummer Krimh calls it “a furious ride with the perfect title, ‘No Rest No End.’ At least that’s how I feel while playing this song. From a drumming perspective – you better get your running shoes on because this track makes you work hard! It has fast double bass, blast beats and a ton of groovy parts. It is definitely one of our strongest songs and with its many layers you will find new things each time you listen to it.“
