PRESS RELEASE:
In times when darkness is devouring the days and they become shorter and shorter, a new glimmer emerges from the inner circles of the metal scene of the town of Tartu, Wolfskrone. The duo welcomes the winter with their debut album „The Hunt“, which embraces the eternal change of nature in a melancholic yet powerful style black metal which is so far quite something new in this remote corner of the world. More elaborate and intercontinental listeners would however find the influences from “Wolves in the Throne Room”, who certainly ain’t the worst choice to pick as inspiration.
"The Hunt“ is a tale in four chapters about the ceding of the crown of the autumn’s king to the ruler of the winter, as it firmly takes place in nature every year. The writer of the musical arrangements and multi-instrumentalist Tiit Pähnapuu has – in contrast to his previous straightforward crust death metal creations like Swarn – revealed his more melodic side (and by the way, the music of the album was written in only two weeks).
According to the second half of the band, vocalist Kruksator (Death Kommander, Demonic Obedience, Ziegenhorn), he got inspiration for the lyrics already years ago while living in Norway but only Wolfskrone gave him the opportunity to put those thoughts and feelings into actual words. Now is the perfect time for this kind of release – the cold, dark, and cruel end of the year where the resurrection of nature is nothing but a distant memory.
Wolfskrone’s album „The Hunt“ will be released on 12.12.2021 by Warhorn Records as three-fold digipak.
