BESTIAL COLONY Our History
BESTIAL COLONY started in the middle of 1990 by 4 teenagers who were inspired by the small but schcking metal movement in Singapore. The 4 teenagers, who never played a single instrument in their lives except for the guitarist, decided to record a demo just like what their pioneers — NUCTEMERON, DREAD & CRUCIFUCKTOR — did. The band was formed at a bus stop in Kallang on a Saturday afternoon with one question - "Shall we record a demo'" They volunteered to play the instrument they think they could play and planned a day to do the “recording”.
That fateful Friday afternoon, blasphemy was committed. The 4 teenagers had chosen the name BESTIAL COLONY, inspired by bands with 2-worded monickers, eg NAPALM DEATH, and locally DEATH SQUAD, XTREME OBSESSION and GLOBAL CHAOS. The 4 Muslim teenagers decided not to attend the weekly Friday prayers and booked a rehearsal studio instead. With a tape recorder in hand, the “band" went to Razzi M Studio and spent 2 hours abusing the instruments. On the way home, they listened to the “recording" and concluded they needed to practice their instruments and write songs.
Inspired by ABHORER, the band decided to use nicknames instead of their real names to represent themselves. This proved to be problematic as they had to convince the postal officers that they are actual recipients whenever they received registered parcels from overseas. The line-up of the band was:

Behemoth — Bass
BESTIAL COLONY released a demo, “Universal Decay" in 1991 before disappearing without trace. There were attempts to continue as SORDID (Infernal and Nefarious) and DOWNFALL (Doomcaster, Nefarious and a new guitarist) but by then Nefarious had started VRYKOLAKAS and things were moving faster and more seriously for him to ever continue with BESTIAL COLONY and its offshoots seriously.

There was also a song titled “Hallucination" during the earlier days which the whole band hated. This song can be found in a rehearsal tape of the same title as the demo.
...Until February 2023. Nefarious was listening to the "Universal Decay" demo and asked the question "What if these songs were recorded with today´s recording resources?". So he recorded 8 songs as a one-man-band. 3 songs were written wogether with Infernal which were supposed to be in BESTIAL COLONY´s 2nd demo and then in SORDID´s demo were re-recorded as well.

With the current limited musicianship level Nefarious has, this is the product. A proto-metal aura, with the darkness of VENOM, the rage of CELTIC FROST and the weirdness of POST MORTEM and EXORCIST.
