Completely enshrouded in mystery, France's ESOCTRILIHUM debuted in 2017 with the promising “Mystic Echo From A Funeral Dimension”, the first stone of a titanic altar erected in the name of dark and majestic black/death metal. One year later, sole member Asthâghul returns from the shadows of his voluntary isolation to complete his unholy monument, and a new, more powerful ritual of cosmic death worship can commence.
“Pandaemorthium (Forbidden Formulas To Awaken The Blind Sovereigns Of Nothingness)” is the kind of mature and imaginative work that everybody was expecting from the band, a monstrous gate opened on nihilistic universes of unfathomable void. Instead of rehashing over-abused occult concepts, ESOCTRILIHUM create their own frightful pantheon and fictional dimension by mixing a biblical tone with evident influences from H.P. Lovecraft's evil cosmogony. Each song is a wound bleeding out mysticism, horror and madness; each riff, an invocation to ancient races and forgotten blind deities of chaos from higher planes of nonexistence, a plea for them to penetrate our dimension and devour us all.
“Pandaemorthium” is as ambitious in its conceptual scope as it is apocalyptic in atmospheres and sonic approach. Often bordering on savage death metal and dark psychedelia, Asthâghul's cyclopean guitar riffs and mystical melodies constantly entwine and concur to the album's grandeur, while deep growls and brutal rhythm patterns assault the senses and ruthlessly crumble the walls of reality around us, revealing immeasurable depths of utter blackness. And with it, the true purpose of our lives: to serve and feed the Blind Sovereigns of Nothingness.
To accompany ESOCTRILIHUM's arcane visions, Alex Shadrin at Nether Temple Design has provided some of his most inspired and diabolical paintings to date, a perfect match to the unspeakable horrors of “Pandaemorthium”.

Enter the “Scythes Towards Psyche” EP. Possessing much greater attention to the whole dark aura, as well as the details, the EP demonstrates an achievement in musical, poetical and aesthetic evolution. To quote a recent interview, “the new EP is more varied from the arrangement side, but without losing the poisonous atmosphere and wrathfulness. It is faster and slower at the same time, songs are longer, yet they effectively fulfill their own vision. I'd say that the new material is more thoughtful and not as straight forward in its message, but the musical form is way more punishing and ugly”. The new EP should be viewed as a holistic piece of metal art inspired by the images of a psycho-spiritual world.
Consisting of six crushing hymns, “Scythes Towards Psyche” EP is to be unleashed via Inferna Profundus Records (jewel case CD) on the 12th of February and Rat King Records (pro-pressed tape) soon afterwards.

I, Voidhanger Records is proud to work alongside Gilead Media to present the long-awaited debut full-length from black metal project EIGENLICHT entitled “Self-Annihilating Consciousness”.
Since its inception in 2014, EIGENLICHT has existed as an entity with reverence for the world both seen and unseen. Each member of the project has chosen a path dedicated to the study of either the natural world or the fundamental nature of knowledge and existence. Their music is built upon experiences of the past and a striving for knowledge to come. The band explains its origins thus:
“EIGENLICHT arose from a failed pilgrimage, everything discarded and given to dissolution, no treasure to bring back and no nobility nor honor to salvage. But upon its opening that void immediately invited torrential winds, which assembled a collection of persons intimately bound by shared ideals and goals, at the opportune moment, in the nexus of our spiritual home in the valley of the Oracle. Thus a new direction was set and the process spontaneously fell into place. Each movement forward a self-overcoming, each a step toward inner nobility. Love and sentiment discarded into the crucible of roiling chaos. Seeking triumph even in failure, moving from impermanence to the eternal. Honoring loss as sacrifice, failure as wisdom; seeking a savage grace steeped in myth and a determination to ascend the slopes of sanguine gods.”
With its debut EP in 2015, “Sacral Regicide”, EIGENLICHT began to draw the attention of many who hold an interest in underground U.S. black metal. This early impact was in some part due to the members’ previous work in SKAGOS, FAUNA, EKSTASIS, and other well-known projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. On “Self-Annihilating Consciousness” we see the work on “Sacral Regicide” standing as a foundation—but all aspects evolving with an impassioned urgency. Synth-laden dooming tones set the stage for an intense journey through a domain of ethereal black metal highlighted with majestic instrumentation to accompany the shrieking wails and chaos. A journey best described in the band’s own words:
“Self-Annihilating Consciousness is an exploration into the realm of gnosis that both illuminates and destroys, that draws out the truth of Being even as it ruptures our conceptions of Self and Other. Molded around a black metal core, it spills open at times into angular meditations, cosmic thralldom, and orgies of ecstatic metallic fervor. The album coheres around mind-altering revelations that bring a mirror to the invoker only to then shatter the reflection. Logos wrestles with Abyss in an eternal struggle over who will properly wield the blazing sword of intangible truth.”
The album will stand as a testament of discovery and enlightenment.
