Death metal supergroup HEADS FOR THE DEAD has just released a lyric video for the title track of their new album "Into the Red".
The band dropped a stunner of an album in 'Serpent's Curse' which sent shockwaves through the underground. The band's masterful blending of classic death metal with horror-inspired elements set them apart from the standard revivalist bands. The combination of Jonny Pettersson (Wombbath, Gods Forsaken, Henry Kane) behind the music and Ralf Hauber (Revel In Flesh) on vocals proved to be extremely effective and both of them put in their experience of decades to create something marvellous. 'Into the Red' sees them take things to a different level and also recruiting the services of the legendary drummer Ed Warbie, known for his work in bands like Gorefest and Hail of Bullets, renders their sound flawless. They've honed it to make it more cohesive, the horror influence now being an intrinsic part of the music, and there's undeniable growth in the songwriting that makes them step out of the shadow of the old school death metal peers to carve an identity of their own. The artwork has once again been created by Branca Studio retaining the classic horror aesthetic and as expected there are guest appearances such as from members of Sentient Horror and Gods Forsaken. 'Into the Red' raises the bar for old school death metal circa 2020 and it's ironic how their horror theme fits eerily well into the real life horrors this era is witnessing. It's time to embrace it all the same.
Line up -
Ed Warbie (ex-Gorefest, ex-Hail of Bullets) - Drums
Ralf Hauber (Revel In Flesh) - Vocals, concept
Jonny Pettersson (Wombbath, Gods Forsaken, Henry Kane) - Guitars, Bass, Keys, FX
Infernalizer is a brand new creature conceived and brought to life by the creative mind of Claudio Ravinale to portray his own take on the heavy metal genre. Ravinale is best known as the vocalist of Italian death metal veterans Disarmonia Mundi, whom have achieved worldwide recognition with their high-octane melo-death throughout two decades and featuring Bjorn "Speed" Strid (Soilwork) among their ranks, along with being in other recognizable bands such as The Silverblack, 5 Star Grave and The Stranded.
Heavily influenced by 80's metal acts such as Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, Danzig, and Ravinale's new project Infernalizer relies on the use of gloomy keys and eerie samples, paying homage to more somber gothic rock acts like Type O Negative and The Sisters Of Mercy. Vocally closer to contemporary acts like Rob Zombie and Wednesday 13, the range of influences also include evocative cinematographic soundscapes that provide Infernalizer's songs with a more solemn and nocturnal atmosphere.
"Leaving So Soon?" is the first single chosen to introduce Infernalizer. The track was produced by NeroArgento at AExeron Studio (Turin, IT) and mastered at Sterling Sound Studio (Nashville, TN) by legendary Grammy Award-winning mastering engineer Ted Jensen (Guns N' Roses, Korn, Pantera, Alice In Chains). Providing a modern take on the concept of heavy metal, the song features crooning vocals alternated with a more harsh yet still melodic tone adding a layer of evocative keys and samples to a solid foundation deeply rooted in 80s metal sound.
The band is currently in studio putting the finishing touches on the debut full-length entitled "The Ugly Truth" planned for release during 2021 via Rockshots Records.
STONEDRIFT were formed in 2007 from an idea of Max Marri on drums (voice of Dominance and Unscarred Italian Pantera Tribute) and Enrico Ascari on guitar. After a few line up changes, they joined the band Oscar Lanzoni on bass (formerly Sette Note in Nero) and Matteo Gazzi on vocals (formerly Thunderbomber), with whom they recorded the first demo "The smell of Sweat Smoke and Alcohol" in 2010 and performed live at important festivals such as "Rottura del Silenzio" or in support of great characters such as Freak Antoni at Arci Tom in Mantova. In 2015 another change of line up, with the arrival in the band of Emiliano Dalcomune on vocals, Luca Cigarini on rhythm guitar and Valerio Larcier on bass (formerly Coffee Overdrive and Karmian). They start an intense live activity on several important stages, among these dates to support important bands such as Rain and Cadaveria bands. They currently have their first EP "Mass Distruction Media" which they are about to launch on the record market. Their sound is based on 90s sonorities inspired by bands like Pantera, Biohazard,Machine Head ( for example), mixed up with Sludge Metal and American Stoner Rock. Their style is Groove Metal with Sludge Metal and Hardcore punk influences.
SCOUR — the extreme metal supergroup featuring Philip H. Anselmo (Pantera, Down, En Minor, et al), John Jarvis (Agoraphobic Nosebleed), Derek Engemann (Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals), Mark Kloeppel (Misery Index), and Adam Jarvis (Pig Destroyer, Lock Up) – will release their long-anticipated "The Black EP" on Black Friday, November 27th.
Forged in 2015, SCOUR made its debut with the ferocious single "Dispatched." "The Grey EP", released via Anselmo's Housecore label, dropped in 2016, followed by "The Red EP" in 2017. Faster and tighter than ever before, this year’s "The Black EP" serves as the final release of the EP trilogy and is inarguably the band’s most ferocious effort to date. Mixed and mastered by Ryan Vincent at Apollo Audio Alternative with vocals and drums engineered by Stephen “Big Fella” Berrigan (Down, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals, Eyehategod), "The Black EP" includes guest appearances from Erik Rutan of Hate Eternal, Pat O’Brien of Cannibal Corpse, and actor Jason Mamoa (Dune, Game Of Thrones, Aquaman, et al).
“The latest SCOUR is the best SCOUR,” proclaims Anselmo. Adds Engemann, “This is our most fierce and ripping album to date. Completing the EP trilogy, "The Black EP brings a more mature musical approach without comprising the utter relentless brutality. We’ve got a few special gems as well that I’m stoked for people to hear.”
In advance of the EP’s release, today the band is pleased to offer up opening crusher, “Doom,” for public feasting. The track includes guest vocals by Jason Momoa and a guest guitar solo by Erik Rutan.
SCOUR’s "The Black EP" will be released on CD, LP, cassette, and digital formats via Housecore Records (North America) and Nuclear Blast Records (internationally). Find preorder options at http://nblast.de/Scour-Black

The sound of SCOUR can best be described as a modern reimagining of what primarily became known as black metal mixed with elements of grindcore and bits of punk and thrash. Without getting too caught up in genre classification, the result is a brand of ominously-hued, punishing minimalism that pays proper homage the the originators, without the trappings of being a “throw-back,” reimagining the lineage from primitive punk darkness into modernity. This nuanced approach was, perhaps, made crystal clear with the 2019 release of their cover of Bathory’s “Massacre.”
In its short existence, the band has graced the stages of many of the major players in both the mainstream and metal-oriented music festival circuits including Roskilde, Hellfest, Tecate Metal Festival, Maryland Deathfest, and more. As the lineage of its membership suggests, SCOUR continues to be a proverbial force with which to be reckoned both on the stage and in the studio.

Check out 'The SchytëHawkës', a band from Birmingham UK that combines Thrash energy, Punk attitude and Grime spirit to create their own unique brand of agitated urban noise.
They have a new single 'Compass', which was released 25.09.20 taken from their upcoming EP 'Streets of Rage'.
Hurtling out of the dark back streets of inner city Birmingham England, come four headed punk metal monster The SchytëHawkës. Combining razor blade guitar riffs, a pummelling drilled to the floor rhythm section and a serrated two pronged vocal attack: half rapid fire MC'ing - half searing aggro sneer, the band draw inspiration from all corners of the musical spectrum, from Thrash and Hardcore through Grime and Hip Hop and beyond, to create their unique brand of agitated urban noise. Formed in the spring of 2017 when Guitarist / Vocalist Kieran Moloney shared demos with former bandmates: Vocalist / MC Carl Hewitt and Bass Player Peter Fisher, the band entered the studio to record for the first time. The results of that session would lay down the foundations of their uproarious genre-straddling sound. The band continued to work on new material, honing and developing their musical style whilst entering the studio periodically over the next two years, resulting in the explosive debut record 'Neck of the Woods'. With the gig scene hit by the global pandemic in early 2020, they shelved their planned live assault and joined by Drummer Leo Crabtree, they again turned their attention to the studio, recording new songs that would further progress their musical vision. Led by singles, the blistering 'Centipedes' and the ferocious 'Compass', the new E.P 'Streets of Rage' lands 27/11/20.
"Words Waging War" is the new studio album from Colorado progressive metallers Leviathan. Founded in 1989, the band found the inspiration for a new record in their recent reunions, making Leviathan return to their roots and deliver a new collection of heavy, technical and progressive songs.
"Words Waging War" was produced by Leviathan and recorded at Ukrainian Homestead studios between 2018 -2020. The album was mixed and mastered at Colorado Sound Studios by Kevin Clock.
Riding in beneath a crimson moon, on the crest of a wave of blood come Luna In Sanguinem, bringing with them five tales of horror, five nightmares made flesh. These stories from the bone yard are set to a soundtrack of rotten death metal and skull-crushing thrash, blended into a boiling elixir of delicious terror – a sound from the origins of extremity, dragged from its restless grave...
Luna In Sanguinem are a new name on the extreme metal scene, but their foundations are set deep and built from decades of experience. The unmistakeable voice of Skip McGullam rides at the head of this cavalcade of death, sounding even more powerful and intimidating than he did on Num Skull’s revered ’88 classic, Ritually Abused. Each song on Global Bloodbath is a finely crafted masterpiece of haunting atmosphere and earthshaking riffs, laced with solos that scythe through the choking blackness. Staggering songs like ‘Killed By The Dead Hand’ and ‘Far From The Light’ invoke the spirits of the crypt, the glory days when metal first pushed deeper into the cemetery dirt and further into the darkness. Global Bloodbath is a worm riddled feast for the undead disciples of primal death and thrash.
This EP was originally only available as a digital download and a promotional tool for distribution at Luna In Sanguinem’s live shows...but the clamour became deafening; these songs deserved more! So as the nights draw in and this year of sickness and fear staggers to its end, Global Bloodbath is finally, fully unleashed, in glorious digi-pack CD format – and in the graves and mausoleums of the world the voices of the dead will sing!

On November 13th, Harlott will release their new album, Detritus of the Final Age, via Metal Blade Records. For a preview of Detritus of the Final Age, the title track can be heard now at: youtu.be/MqIP_MKBETo
The first single, "As We Breach", can also be streamed at: metalblade.com/harlott - where the record can be pre-ordered in the following formats:
- contaminated yellow / green marbled vinyl (US exclusive)
More than 30 years after its inception, thrash refuses to die, and with Australia's Harlott stoking the fires, the genre is in very good hands. Returning with the follow up to 2017's mighty Extinction, Detritus Of The Final Age sees them continuing to fight the good fight, delivering a collection of serrated riffs, rampant rhythmic battery and bilious lyrics, hitting hard in all the right places. "For the first time ever, I went into this album with a blank slate," says vocalist/guitarist Andrew Hudson. "No ideas or requirements, just an empty record ready to be filled with whatever took me. Obviously thrash metal is the wheelhouse of what we do, and it came out pretty thrashy, but it was great to be able to set that aside and explore other avenues." The result is perhaps the band's most dynamic release, while holding on tight to that signature Harlott sound that has drawn in a legion of fans from around the world.
Helping to realize the new record, the band's ranks were refreshed with two new members, Glen Trayhern on drums and Leigh Bartley on guitar. "Both bring their own skills and abilities as well as fresh enthusiasm and ideas. Glen is an absolute machine on the kit and lays a rock solid foundation for us to play to, and Leigh is a weapon on the guitar and such a unique lead writer. I couldn't have had a better ensemble for this release, and the live show is as violent as ever." Spending longer writing the record than any of its predecessors, for more than a year Hudson worked on it, experimenting with ideas and styles. Determined to make a record that he would want to listen to - and proudly drawing inspiration from the many bands that have shaped the genre ahead of them - it was integral that he was proud of everything included on the record, and he focused on every aspect of the songs. "Whether its lyrics or riffs or breakdowns, I always make sure that every song has at least one bit that makes you go 'fuck yeeeeah'. I don't like the idea of thinking a song or line is 'good enough', so I try to make sure the elements of the song are strong enough for them to stand alone outside of the ensemble that they are part of." The result is "thrash metal with a bit of darkness, a bit of sorrow, a bit of melody and a few hooks thrown in for good measure," something that Harlott fans will recognize while surely drawing in new listeners.
With today’s release of their fifth single, “Sleepwalkers”, legendary Swedish doom/gothic metal masters DRACONIAN mark the apex cut from their upcoming studio album, Under A Godless Veil, out this Friday October 30, 2020 via Napalm Records.
Along with an atmospheric conceptualized music video that epitomizes the essence of the five-piece in the most beautiful manner, Sweden’s DRACONIAN lure the sleepwalkers and insomniacs of this world into their fragile soundscapes: Made of atmospheric gothic doom, contrasting darkness and light, heaviness and weightlessness as well as soft intermezzos with smashing screams, “Sleepwalkers” embodies another highlight of the breathtaking, seventh full-length.
To be released exactly five years after DRACONIAN’s latest album, Sovran, Under A Godless Veil not only demonstrates another masterpiece that proves the unit to rightly be on top of the genre, but is a manifest of their productive partnership with Napalm Records as well. This longtime collaboration started with the first studio album, Where Lovers Mourn (2003), and has now reached its provisional pinnacle with the seventh epos and second with the talented Heike Langhans on vocal duties.
Singer Heike Langhans comments on “Sleepwalkers”:
“My heartsong of the album. Like a graceful requiem to ourselves, “Sleepwalkers” perfectly encapsulates the sentiments of a lost and weary soul. Subtle, yet a rallying cry - fast becoming my favourite DRACONIAN song to date.”
Under a Godless Veil delivers a captivating mélange of dreary doom and contrasting vocals. The first notes of the opener will immediately draw the listener into a void of interweaving beauty, coalescing with paralyzing depression that leaves nothing but the desire of total immersion in the whole record. Under a Godless Veil carries the legacy of gothic doom metal à la My Dying Bride into a new decade of the genre.
DRACONIAN states:
“To DRACONIAN, Under a Godless Veil is by far the most diverse album we have created. Inspired by some of the music closest to Johan’s heart; everything from traditional Doom to scaled-down, Gothic rock-inspired pieces and more. Some will perhaps describe the songs as more refined and meditative. Some ambient elements have been added to the mix without overshadowing the traditional characteristics that are DRACONIAN.
Resonating with the compositions, Anders’s lyrical direction is ambiguous and a progression of the first two-three albums, yet more subtle while embracing the Gnostic philosophy more directly. One could say Under a Godless Veil is an act of contemplation; About living and dying and remembering who we are in a strange, abrasive world far from home.“
Last year, Sacred Reich released their first record in twenty-three years: Awakening. Now, the band has launched a new video for the album track, "Something to Believe", which can be viewed here: youtu.be/jNNCSWW4OF0
Sacred Reich comments: "With the uncertainty that we are all experiencing, we think it's time for Something To Believe."
Awakening showcases everything a fan would expect and hope for from the Phoenix, Arizona unit: a timeless collection comprised of blistering thrash, crushing grooves, meticulous solos, and socially conscious lyrics. The return of Dave McClain, who manned the drum throne from 1991 to 1997, and the addition of twenty-two-year old guitarist Joey Radziwill, alongside original members guitarist Wiley Arnett and vocalist/bassist Phil Rind, are integral facets of the record. Awakening was produced by Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Cavalera Conspiracy), engineered by John Aquilino, and mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Faith No More, Halford, Armored Saint). To preview and purchase Awakening, please visit: metalblade.com/sacredreich
"a steady campaign of mouth-watering riffs and shout-out choruses" - Metal Hammer
"prove they're just as heavy and furious as ever…a gritty, sludgy take that pushes the confines of thrash itself for a highly unique and fist-pounding experience." - Revolver
"while some contemporary maniacs might roll their eyes at the concept of Buddhist thrash, one listen to 'Awakening's burly, old-school sound will have them along for the ride" - Kerrang!
"If there ever was a band that needed to return, it's them. As an album, 'Awakening' lives up to its title in every conceivable way. In both content and form. There will always darkness before the dawn, and Sacred Reich provides the soundtrack to a hopeful future." - Metal Injection
"Sacred Reich have released one of the best albums in their career in freaking 2019" - MetalStorm.net
London's CULT BURIAL have teamed up with Moshpit Nation to release their video for Dethroner. The song is from their upcoming self-titled album which will be released on November 6th.
Rarely does an extreme metal band drop out of nowhere with a fully formed sound, and yet Cult Burial do just that. While their name may imply another group hopping on the dime-a-dozen OSDM revival trend, this London group quickly show that there is a lot more than meets the eye on their self-titled début, coming hot off the back of a well-received two-track EP.
The smooth sepulchral blend flits across the spectrum; while ostensibly a modern black/death metal outfit, Cult Burial have no qualms about incorporating the crushing low-end of doom metal and post-metal. Other individual tracks branch out even further from the formula - lead single “Moribund” draws from old school death metal’s HM2-drenched tremolo, while “Plague” and “Chaos” stretch into progressive territory and showcase a real strength in dynamic songwriting - not a moment is wasted.
Aside from the songwriting, the execution of each track is magnificent. Simon Langofrd's composition pairs effortlessly with César Moreira's varied vocal delivery - potent growls and twisted snarls collide with the daring range of styles employed, from the hefty groove in opener “Dethroner” reminiscent of Belphegor to the full black/death/doom amalgamation that rounds out “Sorrow”. The lyrics, which eschew the expected Satan-worshipping traits, instead turn inward and speak on topics related to death and a sense of purpose (or a lack thereof) in captivating detail.
Despite having only two tracks to their name prior to this release, Cult Burial have already begun to build a name for themselves - No Clean Singing pegged “Sorrow” as “further proof that Cult Burial is a band to watch closely”, and it won’t be long before this album starts turning heads and causing a stir.
On November 6th, France's Déluge will release their sophomore album, Ægo Templo, via Metal Blade Records. For a preview of the record, a video for the new single, "Digue" (directed by VCR), can be viewed at: youtu.be/eXGnDJV-OwY
Déluge comments: "We see life as a perpetual battle with your inner self, and 'Digue' (dike, breakwater) symbolizes that constant fight to stay in the bright side of life. To win this battle, we feel the necessity to embrace the dark part of it, in order to see every little glow in the darkness slowly becoming a strong flame, the need to change our perception to eventually see beauty where it is. But it is a curse and a deep weakness not being able to see beauty otherwise. The different scenes in the music video play with these emotions and the battles you fight with yourself, trying to keep yourself into the light."
The previously released single, "Opprobre", can be heard at: metalblade.com/deluge - where Ægo Templo can also be pre-ordered in the following formats:
- digipak-CD
- 180g black vinyl (EU exclusive)
- blue / white / black marbled vinyl (EU exclusive - limited to 300 copies)
- white vinyl (EU exclusive - limited to 200 copies)
- gold / black dust vinyl (Kings Road exclusive - limited to 100 copies)
- gold vinyl (US exclusive)
France has long been a fertile breeding ground for black metal, and one of its best kept secrets is Déluge, who have been kicking up a blend of that genre and post-hardcore since 2014. Dropping their debut full-length Æther in 2015, in 2020 they return with sophomore effort Ægo Templo, a more accessible record that pushes their sound in ever more imaginative directions. "I wanted to go further into something more 'easy to listen to', but I really did not want to lose what we had, that melancholia and the essence of our music," states founding guitarist François-Thibaut Hordé. "It was a very interesting - and exhausting - challenge, and to me we have succeeded. We are really proud of this new record."
Produced by François-Thibaut with assistance from engineers Thibault Chaumont/Deviant Lab studio (Igorrr, Carpenter Brut, Birds in Row) - who also mixed and mastered the album - and Amaury Sauvé / The Apiary studio who recorded the drums, Ægo Templo marks a bold step forward from their earlier recorded output. Featuring clean vocals on almost every track, keyboards and additional instruments on several songs, plus soprano saxophone on "Opprobre", this new offering separates Déluge from their contemporaries, all the while maintaining their identity.
The band also turned to Valnoir from Metastazis Studio in Paris to once again design their artwork, and they asked several artists to guest on the record: Tetsuya Fukagawa of Japanese Screamo legends Envy adds vocals to "Gloire Au Silence"; Matthieu Metzger provides saxophone on "Opprobre"; and Hélène Muesser contributes vocals on "Abysses", "Ægo Templo" and "Digue" - all helping to add further depths to the music.
Ægo Templo track-listing
1. Soufre
2. Opprobre
3. Abysses
4. Fratres
5. Gloire Au Silence
6. Ægo Templo
7. Baïne
8. Digue
9. Béryl
10. Vers
Even in these uncertain times, what comes next for Déluge is clear - their goals are undeniable: "We want to be touring as much as we can, spreading our bright music as much as we can, and going much further than the metal scene can offer us."
After Ægo Templo's release, Déluge will head out on the road with label-mates Igorrr for a tour of France and Switzerland in December. See below for all dates!

The band was started in 1996 by Behemoth co-founder Baal and Les, also a former Behemoth musician as well as a member of Damnation. There are IX songs on "Natas Liah" - old school, black death metal with a bit of melodies typical for the group. There were also some guests during the recording session, including Adam Nergal Darski. The band confirms that it is by far definitely the best album in their career.
Recordings took place at Creme de la Creme studio, and Haldor Grunberg, known for his collaboration with Behemoth, handled the mixes and mastering.
France's gothic/dark metal unit INVADING CHAPEL present a new video for the song "Forsaken Place", which is taken off from their latest album "Ghostly Rock Season".

For fans of Type O Negative, Black Sabbath, Paradise Lost ...
Last September, Swabian melodic death metallers RETERNITY have released their sophomore album "A Test of Shadows". Now it's time for a new video for the track "We Were The Gods", which was recorded during a 9-hour marathon in the woods from South Germany.
Grasping all walks of life, and the few years we have on earth.
Ephemeros centers around our choices in life, and our journey towards the grave... And afterwards.
After releasing their debut album in 2017 which was mainly inspired by the 80s thrash metal era, Asyllex started the writing process of Ephemeros. Looking into a more original musical path, not limited to any specific sub genre, in the metal universe.
Ephemeros is a culmination of all of the band’s musical inspirations. From Ballads, to full-blown thrash songs. Epic symphonic arrangements, and black metal inspired somber melodies.
Asyllex teamed up with composer Clemens Wijers for orchestral arrangements.
Musically, the goal was to take the listener on a journey, through life from the very beginning to the untimely end. Experiencing life and death, through different perspectives and legacies. Witnessing that, ultimately, we all wither away, and only have this short time, to make good of.
After searching for over a year for an artist to make the perfect artwork for the album, Asyllex reached out to infamous visual artist Marcelo Vasco, who based on the concept and lyrics of the album formed a perfect visual representation of the music.
This album has been a passion project for a long time, and is finally able to see the light of day, thanks to help of Arvid Tjelta. Asyllex is very eager, to share this album with the world.

DORMANTH were born in 1993 as one of the first melodic Death Metal bands in Spain, releasing their 1st demo "Sadness" in 1994 and their debut album "Valley of Dreams" in 1995, to later be dissolved for 20 years. The band eventually reunited in 2015 when they released a 2-track EP, followed by the sophomore album "Winter Comes" (2016), "IX Sins" (2018) and their latest mini-CD "Abyss" (2019). DORMANTH share two members with IN THOUSAND LAKES (vocalist and drummer).
"Complete Downfall" features 11 songs where the double bass drums, melodies and catchy choruses prevail in many of the songs along with other mid-tempo tunes, continuing with their traditional style of melodic Death Metal influenced by bands like PARADISE LOST, AMORPHIS, AMON AMARTH, IN FLAMES and INSOMNIUM.
Twisted Mist is a French Pagan Folk Metal band founded in 2014 in Reims. If at first, the formation included four musicians with the objective of composing technical death metal, it has been composed since 2016 of only two members: Olivier and Nicolas, Studio musicians.
With inspirations such as traditional medieval music such as pieces by Guillaume de Machaud, modern bands from the Folk scene such as Wardruna, and Metal music from Eluveitie, Corvus Corax and Sepultura, the band’s ambition is to merge genres by infusing them with a signature.
A collection of traditional instruments, including the hurdy-gurdy, the bombarde, the bouzouki, the lyre, a diatonic bone flute and medieval percussion, allows passionate musicians to perform their tracks and give recordings an authentic, artisanal sound.
The first two albums, “Mortui Vivos Docent” and “Le Brâme”, published respectively in 2017 and 2018 on Bandcamp, are albums composed for the most part of long instrumental pieces which translate an atmosphere which is sometimes mystical, sometimes warlike.
In 2020, after two years of preparation, it is the turn of the new album "Orbios", the band's most successful musical project, to see the light of day under the Music-Records label.
This is a decisive step for the formation, which here produces an album on our time on Earth and the notion of heritage.
