BETRAYAL RELEASE "DISORDER REMAINS" ALBUM

PRESS RELEASE:

Betrayal

Disorder Remains

Rising Nemesis Records

16 April 2021

German modern death metal faction Betrayal is excited to announce the release of their second album, Disorder Remains. Set for release on April 16th via Rising Nemesis Records.

Although the term modern death metal hasn't become a "dirty word" per se, oftentimes the connotation implies something that imitates solely, while often not offering much of an experience that is solely their own. Like their fellow labelmates Rising Nemesis Records labelmates Pestilent Reign, Betrayal adeptly draws from a mix of old-school death metal, thrashy death metal, technical and progressive death metal, and a bit of blackened death metal to create some seriously awesome and well-written death metal. The end product is something that's solely Betrayal's, and it's a damn good take on death metal that you'll certainly want to hear.

Betrayal - Disorder Remains will strongly appeal to fans of Misery Index, Revocation, Death, Behemoth, and Decapitation at their grooviest.

Betrayal comments on the release of Disorder Remains

"Regarding sound quality as well as songwriting, we definitely reached the next step with Disorder Remains. The entire writing process was new for us since a  part of the record was finished in the studio where we could focus on our concept and implement a lot of spontaneous ideas. We tried to combine a gloomy and powerful atmosphere which can be transferred live as well as on CD. It was recorded at the Unleash The Sound Studios while sounds for guitars and bass were created by no other than Sky Van Hoff.  With this decision, we try to underline the intensity of emotions throughout our songs  with a brutal sound."

About The Band

Founded in Aschaffenburg in 2005, BETRAYAL soon released 'Of Lust And Loss' in 2007, an EP that stirred up the local underground, sold out on the day of release, and showed the potential of the young band around drummer Manuel Caccamese.

After several line-up changes, BETRAYAL found themselves together again in 2014. With Alex Burkl on rhythm guitar/vocals and Philipp Gherig on bass, a foundation was finally laid to build a golden future on. They quickly drew attention to themselves again with a demo in 2015.

In 2016, eleven years after the band was founded, BETRAYAL released their first album 'Infinite Circles' on Transcending Records. They were able to gain many new fans and received nothing but great reviews. About 200k Streams on Spotify can confirm that.

With their new addition Bastian Kraus on Lead Guitar in January 2019, they not only got fresh blood but also musical quality and creativity on board.

On numerous festivals or as touring support act for bands such as Belphegor, Suffocation, Hate, Cannibal Corpse, Thy Art is Murder, Asphyx or Gruesome, they shared the stage with a lot of notable bands and were able to expand their fanbase successfully.

ENGRAVER RELEASE "BEHIND" EP

PRESS RELEASE:

Old school thrash metal!

“BEHIND” embodies who we are and what we like in terms of the music we listen and want to produce. It represents the complexity of the human soul divided between pure dread and doubt, between a rational being and a beast. It is impossible to know what lays “BEHIND” each one of us.

UNFLESH RELEASE "INHUMATION"

PRESS RELEASE:

Unflesh

Inhumation

Self-Released

2 April 2021

New Hampshire-based blackened melodic death metallers Unflesh are excited to announce their second full-length, Inhumation. Set for release on Friday, April 2nd. The band partnered with artist Junki Sakuraba (Seven Spires) once again to create the killer album art for Inhumation. The album was mixed and mastered by renowned musician and engineer V. Santura (Triptykon, Dark Fortress, etc.) at Woodshed Studios in Landshut, Germany.

Inhumation comes a mere two years after the launch of their well-received 2018 debut album "Savior", yet it showcases an incredible amount of new growth from a group already brimming with abundant talent as is. The group's new album Inhumation also sees guitarist/vocalist Ryan Beevers (ex-Solium Fatalis) aided by two new members: bassist Orion Hubbard (ex-Excrecor) and drummer Jeff Saltzman (Aversed, Allegaeon (live), Continuum (live), ex-Solium Fatalis).

Regarding the musical direction on Inhumation, Ryan Beevers says: "For this album, there was a lot more focus on developing a lingering dark atmosphere throughout the record with the music and lyrics to create a more immersive listening experience. The album is a lot more dynamic and introduces some new elements into the Unflesh sound, all to enhance the mood within the album."

Unflesh - Inhumation will strongly appeal to fans of Arsis, Dissection, Emperor, Necrophagist, Necrophobic, Naglfar, Tribulation, Obscura, and Revocation.

Unflesh vocalist/guitarist Ryan Beevers comments

“Inhumation delves into the concept of desensitization and losing one's soul or losing one's humanity so to speak. The title itself is used in a metaphorical sense, as the actual definition of the word “Inhumation” is the action or practice of burying the dead. For album purposes, the title is used on a more spiritual and emotional level. Each track on the album is a bit of a meditation on different aspects of the primary concept. When the listener gets to the last song on the album, the totality of the album will have taken form.

I was extremely focused on binding together the riffs and lyrics to channel a certain atmosphere I had in my head initially when writing the songs. The goal was to create a more immersive listening experience. I think this goal is also reflected in how the album sounds and in the artwork. Everyone involved worked very hard on this record. We are looking forward to sharing this album with the world and to finally document the next step in the Unflesh sound with this second full-length album.”

Unflesh - Inhumation Line-Up

Orin Hubbard (ex-Excrecor) - Bass Guitar

AT THE GATES RELEASE VIDEO FOR "THE PARADOX"

PRESS RELEASE:

Today Swedish melodic death metal pioneers At The Gates are debuting the second single/video off their upcoming album “The Nightmare Of Being”, to be released July 2nd, 2021 via Century Media Records.

Check out the track “The Paradox” in a video-clip directed by Patric Ullaeus / www.rEvolver.se (Arch Enemy, In Flames, Dimmu Borgir, etc.) here: https://youtu.be/PZPvry4H9N0

At The Gates vocalist Tomas Lindberg Redant commented about “The Paradox” and its video as follows:

"Humanity is the biggest paradox. We as humans always want justification for the big things: death, the meaning of life, etc. Our knowledge of being mortals drives us away from being human, hence the paradox. We invent defense mechanisms to protect us from the thought of death, religion, different –isms, etc.

This first time our producer Jens Bogren heard this song, he said “This is a monster!”. It touches on some core parts of the At The Gates sound, but builds further, on top of that, some classic NWOBHM/Mercyful Fate vibes thrown in for good measure. It is a death metal song, but has its progressive moments. Enjoy!

This was a very fun video to record, as we tried to create most of the “special effects” in an analog way, and not just to be added in the editing. Hence we were drenched in tons of crushed coal and soil, which took over a week and a lot of showers to get out of our hair, haha. We really wanted an oppressive, apocalyptic emotion for this video. And Patric Ullaeus, being the master that he is, went all the way to make that happen!"

SWALLOW THE SUN ANNOUNCE LIVE ALBUM

PRESS RELEASE:

Today, Finnish doom stars Swallow the Sun announce their first ever live album “20 Years Of Gloom, Beauty And Despair – Live in Helsinki“! It will be released on July 30th, 2021 via Century Media Records.

"Finally some good news after a year of cancellations and shitshow! We managed to play only 10 of these special 20th anniversary gigs before the whole world shut down in March 2020 and the rest of the tour got cancelled. Luckily we filmed and recorded one of the gigs, which we now release as our very first live album as we wait to be able to get back on stages again. Enjoy!“, comments Mikko Kotamäki.

About the production he states, “We played the whole „Songs from the North II“ with a string quartet—comprised of very professional musicians, two of whom played on our previous album and appeared with us on the 70000 Tons of Metal cruise in 2018. For the first time, we also asked our fans on social media to vote for their favorite songs from each album. We then played the most-voted songs from every album.“

„20 Years Of Gloom, Beauty And Despair – Live in Helsinki“ will be available as Ltd. 2CD+DVD Digipak, Gatefold 3LP+DVD and as digital album. All physical formats can be pre-ordered HERE as of now: https://swallowthesun.lnk.to/20YearsOfGloomBeautyAndDespair-LiveInHelsinki?fbclid=IwAR03L-ImPLJ-ae04z11BmJos6SbtYhRvriXEEWlqoSPrbV7k_DkaGp9z_Kk

ALLUVIAL RELEASE "SARCOMA"

PRESS RELEASE:

Progressive, technical death metal collective ALLUVIAL have debuted their highly anticipated sophomore album, "Sarcoma," today with Nuclear Blast. The band marks the release of the long awaited record with a new visualizer for their vicious new single 'The Putrid Sunrise', which can be viewed now!

Watch the visualizer for 'The Putrid Sunrise': https://youtu.be/yR5D8uCAwNY

Purchase/Stream "Sarcoma": http://www.nuclearblast.com/alluvial-sarcoma

Guitarist Wes Hauch comments on the single:

"This song is basically about the back and forth of being stuck in a rut with drugs and booze. It bounces back and forth between high and sick, and the pointlessness that happens in between. I’d venture to say that most people can relate to giving into their beast. There’s a certain type of hedonic enjoyment in becoming the beast, but the beast is always there laughing at you once he’s had his fun."

ALLUVIAL's second full-length album, "Sarcoma," examines people's connection with pain and the hardships that bind us.

“Sarcoma is a type of cancer that grows from connective tissue in the body,” says guitarist Wes Hauch. “At the end of working on everything, Kevin [Muller] pinpointed that each song on the record was about the different perils that happen at the hand of one man to another. These perils live in our connections to one another, so 'Sarcoma' became an apt title.”

As Hauch began writing the record, he took notice of Muller due to his time in SUFFOCATION. After hearing his vocals on a demo, everything simply clicked, and Kevin joined the band. Fast brothers, it fulfilled a long-term goal. “The Deep Longing for Annihilation was supposed to have vocals, but I couldn’t find the right guy,” he adds. “Some people possess a rare inability to doubt themselves. Kevin can marry that into performances. The day I heard his vocals over the Sarcoma demos was a special one. We’ve become brothers.”

After writing and producing demos at home, Alluvial cut guitars, bass, and vocals with engineer John Douglass (MR. BUNGLE, AMON AMARTH) in Atlanta.

VULTURE LORD RELEASE NEW SINGLE, "STILLBORN MESSIAH"

PRESS RELEASE:

Today Vulture Lord unveil the second single and video to be taken from their Desecration Rite album - the first full length album that the band have released in eighteen years. 'Stillborn Messiah' is a pitiless attack of violent riffs and blood freezing atmosphere that was written by Trondr Nefas back in 2005. The choice of song and date of its release are both in honour of the much missed Nefas, who would have turned 44 on this day. His songs and his spirit remain integral to the entity that is Vulture Lord. The artwork for the single was originally intended to be the cover of the Desecration Rite album, before it was replaced by the stunning work of Jorge Vemendy. To celebrate their tenth year of existence, UNFATHOMABLE RUINATION are not only unleashing three brand new tracks, each yet again delving into the experimental diversity that they have become renowned for, but also a revitalized and re-recorded version of one of their most successful early releases, “Suspended in Entropic Dissipation.”

Since 2010 the band has gone from strength to strength. With each line-up a new skin was shed, revealing a fresh new insight into perfecting the ultimate death metal experience. With the band producing top tier death metal with every release an evolution from its predecessor, Decennium Ruinae is no different. Presenting three tracks of eclectic, intricate and downright fierce technical death, UNFATHOMABLE RUINATION raise the bar once again. Not only has the music taken another exciting turn, lyrically the release has taken a step away from Enraged and Unbound and takes you to a dark, infectious and callous alternate reality. Three scriptures written from the perspective of a vile, wretched cult sworn to infect and eliminate anything pure set the scene for a thematic journey into Ruination.

Decennium Ruinae was recorded, mixed and mastered by Samuel Turbitt @ Ritual Studios, with Daniel Herrera and Ross Piazza. Album artwork by Cristian Alias (Instragram - @srjalapenyo). Layout by Ross Piazza. All music and lyrics written and performed by UNFATHOMABLE RUINATION.

STORM RELEASE NEW TRACK "HERE I AM"

PRESS RELEASE:

Bulgaria’s Storm is releasing a new single “Here I Am”, their third one following Angel (2019) and Sulza (2020). It is a sleek speed metal offering characterized with melodic vocal lines presented often in harmonies, laid against swift tempo and heavy riffs.

According to the band, “Here I Am” is a look inward, where Mihail Bonev (bass, vocals) reflects on coping with personal problems. Compared to the other singles, which are more melodic and slow, this one is, as the band remarks, more sophisticated and accurate. They continue to explain the track:

“We are evolving in playing as well as in producing, which is great. 'Here I Am' is the clearest example so far of what kind of a band we are, in the sense of music. This song best reveals the essence of our music - both the lyric side and the powerful side. We really believe that it will be much liked, we already see our fans enjoying the songs very much. It’s trying to give them the full joy of real original music in the respective genres, not banal cliches or latest modern tunes.”

Initially, Storm was trying to appeal to the commercial side of music, but has now moved past that and is fully embracing the heavier music their audience knows them best for. “Here I Am” is one of the band’s favourites and they are ecstatic to finally be releasing it.

Galvanized by ambition and a desire to pave their own way, Alexander Mladenov (drums, vocals), Mihail Bonev (bass, vocals) started Storm after leaving Atlantic in 2018, they recruited Nikolay Mihaylov (guitar). Fans can expect at least three brand new original songs coming down the pipe, along with two covers of Atlantic songs.

With its promising intro and inspiring riffs, the powerful “Here I Am” is recommended for fans of Helloween, Blind Guardian, and Angra.

“Here I Am” is now available as of May 28, 2021 and can be heard on the following platforms:

HELION PRIME RE-RELEASE "THE DRAKE EQUATION" TRACK

PRESS RELEASE:

American power metallers Helion Prime have just released a new version of their song "The Drake Equation", which first appeared on the band's 2016 self-titled debut album. The re-recorded single is to celebrate the new custom "Drake Series" guitars made by Helion Prime fan Eddie Julian for founding guitarist Jason Ashcraft as well as to showcase the band in its current line-up.

Guitarist Jason Ashcraft had this to say:

"I'm very excited to finally have these new guitars in my hand. Each guitar is completely handmade from scratch. Both modeled after the Les Paul and Explorer body shape, but with tweaks to meet my specifications. The explorer is thicker and both headstocks are reinforced to prevent them from snapping. When Eddie Julian made these, I asked if we could take the inspiration from the custom designs that Gibson uses, but that we of course make them our own and something that will compliment my playing style. Both are great for those heavy riffs I like to play! Each guitar has a 12th fret inlay of my other band Dire Peril's emblem and both have an engraving of my band Helion Prime's emblem. The explorer has the  Seymour Duncan Nazgul & Sentient Humbucker Pickup Set while the Les Paul is packed with Bare Knuckle Painkiller pickups. When it came time to paint them, The Drake Equation kept coming to my mind, and just felt like it would really pop on these guitars and it really did! That also lead to the idea to re-record the track. Re-Recording some old songs with our current line-up is something we've talked about in the past and this felt like a great opportunity to do it and let me show off these new guitars!"

This re-recording of "The Drake Equation" is just the first of new things to come from Helion Prime this year! Stay tuned as they will have more to announce.

"The Drake Equation" can be heard via Jason Ashcraft's playthrough showcasing the "Drake Series" guitars at the following link: https://youtu.be/83DnEXDrino

Helion Prime latest full-length "Question Everything" was released this past October for North America and Europe via the band's label Saibot Reigns along with a Japanese edition via Ward Records that featured two exclusive bonus tracks "Prof (Demo)" and "Rain (Trivium Cover)". This is Helion Prime's first album with new vocalist Mary Zimmer, who has also accompanied the band on two separate tours of the United States. It also sees the band's original singer, Heather Michele, returning in a writing capacity and contributing all lyrics and melodies. Heather Michele also along with other former Helion Prime vocalist Sozos Michael and with John Yelland (Judicator/Dire Peril) add their guest vocals on the full length.

Album order for Japan / Asian market available HERE.

Album order for North America/EU available at Helionprimemetal.com (CD), Apple Music, and Spotify.

"Question Everything" was produced by Jason Ashcraft and Alex Nasla. Mixing was done by Chris Collier and mastered by Brett Caldas-Lima along with additional mixing/drum edits/reamping plus writing and performance of keyboard arrangements by Alex Nasla of Gear Gods Studio. Guitar/Bass edits by Michael Goodrich and cover art by Marc Whisnant.

The third record is a concept album, with each song revolving around different figures throughout human history that had the courage to question the status quo of their respective worlds/societies, in some cases even dealing with harsh persecution as a result. Those Helion Prime chose to write about faced prejudice, mockery, ex-communication, and persecution - yet through it all, they held true to their beliefs and ideas. Time would be their greatest ally as their ideas and identities were eventually validated, oftentimes not until after their passing. They serve as an inspiration for all minds to continue thinking outside the box and staying true to themselves.

BURIAL IN THE SKY RELEASE "THE CONSUMED SELF"

PRESS RELEASE:

Established progressive/technical death metal outfit Burial In The Sky is excited to announce the upcoming release of their third album, The Consumed Self. Out August 13th via Rising Nemesis Records. It is the follow-up to the group's well-received 2018 sophomore album, Creatio et Hominus.

Acclaimed visual artist Justin Abraham (Equipoise, Dessiderium, Inanimate Existence) was tapped to create the epic cover art for The Consumed Self. The album was produced, engineered, and mastered by Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland at Atrium Audio known for their work with Rivers of Nihil, August Burns Red, and Black Crown Initiate.

Active since 2013, the Philadelphia-based group has kept a steady pace on record and live over the years. With each new release, refining and expanding their wide-ranging take on progressive/technical death metal. This time around, the addition of new second guitarist Brad Hettinger, further contributions around from several members, and an impressive array of eclectic guest musician spots help elevate The Consumed Self into the group's finest hour yet.

Making for an album that delivers on multiple fronts and has something to offer something for almost any death metal fan's tastes. Burial In The Sky - The Consumed Self is sure to be counted among the best albums of the year for progressive death metal.

The album will strongly appeal to fans of bands such as Black Crown Initiate, Fallujah, Rivers Of Nihil, Alustrium, and Virvum.

Burial In The Sky Band Statement Regarding The Consumed Self

“The Consumed Self is inspired by some of the great dystopian fantasies of the past. We wanted to create a world that felt real and tangible. With that, the music had to be digestible and convey a wide array of emotions. This took a lot of growth for us to accomplish. On June 18 ENTTIERRO will release the long awaited follow-up to their 2018 self-titled full-length. Entitled El Camazotz, after the Mayan bat god associated with night, death and sacrifice, the five-song EP represents a new chapter in the story of the band.

Recorded just prior to the pandemic at Studio Wormwood in Northeastern Connecticut under the engineering mastery of Dave Kaminsky, the songs of El Camazotz harken back to the NWOBHM and traditional heavy metal bands that they grew up listening to.

This also marks the first truly collaborative effort with former Fates Warning guitarist Victor Arduini, who had joined the band just prior to the recording of their 2018 full length. On this release, he was an integral part of the writing process working alongside vocalist/bassist Christopher Beaudette (Jasta, NightBitch,) drummer Dave Parmelee (One Master) and second guitarist Chris Begnal making it a much more definitive presentation of their creative vision. Together, ENTIERRO is solidifying their ability to create songs that manifest the crushing sound they hope metalheads can continually find inspiration in.

TERRAVOID RELEASE "ECTOGENESIS" EP

PRESS RELEASE:

Oliver Palmquist (singer of the Death Metal band PHIDION)) teamed up with guitarist Nino Vukovik (guitarist of Technical Speed Metal bands IMMACULATE and TYRANEX) and after two years of development, they produced their debut EP, released on their own record label Liminal Spaces Distribution.

"Ectogenesis" takes you on a sonic journey through a dark, dystopian Science Fiction world where technology eventually overtakes humanity and nature once again claim its throne in the life cycle. Musically the album takes you back to the heavy and dark Prog Metal, that swept the world in the mid-'00s with bands like NEVERMORE, COMMUNIC and STRAPPING YOUNG LAD.

Swedish progressive metal band Terravoid also adds a layer of eerie atmosphere and keyboard passages, much like JOHN CARPENTER and LUSTMORD.

DESTRUCTION TO RELEASE "LIVE ATTACK" BLU RAY + ALBUM

PRESS RELEASE:

Legendary German thrash metal powerhouse DESTRUCTION cements its signing with Napalm Records by smashing an all devastating, neck-breaking Live Attack onto the masses! The BluRay/CD live event, including some pre- and after-show bonus content, will be released on August 13, 2021. It follows their latest record, Born To Perish (#26 GER album charts), recalling a nearly two hour live stream attack the heavy steamroller unleashed in January this year.

Dive deep into DESTRUCTION’s history with the first crushing single and energetic live video for “Mad Butcher”, originally released in 1983 as one of the first songs the band ever wrote.

SCHMIER states:

“‘Mad Butcher’ is one of the first songs we ever wrote, such a classic! I still love to perform it live, it is in my DNA meanwhile, I guess! There are a lot of memories that come along with this track and the history of the band.

We brought back the double-lead section from the EP version into the solo part; many fans have reacted at that during the live shows, which is really cool! But this DVD will also have some nice surprises, some songs we have not played live in decades…!”

Founded back in 1982 and since their first demo, followed by debut EP, Sentence Of Death (1984) and first full-length, Infernal Overkill (1985), the German foursome DESTRUCTION has turned heads and broken necks with their incredibly honest and uncompromising thrash metal power. Now, 39 years into their unstoppable rampage of a career, DESTRUCTION bring the power of hard-hitting drums, speedy riffs and punishing vocals to the comfort of your home on the new BluRay & 2 Audio CD’s, Live Attack!

DESTRUCTION on their first release with Napalm Records:

“This show at our fave club, the Z7 in Switzerland, was a really special one in the middle of this dreadful pandemic! When we recorded it as a live stream on the 1st of January, it gave us hope back and connected us with the fans worldwide! Many supporters demanded to release it in physical form, so we had to make it happen. The setlist reflects four decades of DESTRUCTION with an almost two hour best-of setlist, which includes some really rare live tracks! It was for sure a night to remember… we hope you all enjoy it as much as we did!"

Pre-Order your copy NOW!

When the music world was forced to shut down venues and cancel tours for an indefinite period of time, DESTRUCTION came through to deliver their outstanding power via live stream to their loyal fans at home – now available for you to enjoy on high-definition BluRay! Witness DESTRUCTION ripping through their live set of 22 songs, including beloved classics like “Mad Butcher”, “Thrash Till Death”, “Born To Perish” and many more! Filmed and recorded at the legendary Z7 venue in Pratteln (Switzerland), DESTRUCTION spare no expense or effort to bring you a live show experience that will make you bang your head like you’re in the front row at the show, getting your ear drums penetrated by rumbling double-bass grooves! The BluRay is filled with exclusive pre- and aftershow insights and behind the scenes footage from DESTRUCTION’s live show – a must-have for fans of true thrash metal!

PRESS RELEASE:

Debut Album: PATH OF A SHADOW

Band: Pressure

Release Date: 7th May 2021

Written and composed by Simon Forsell, Olof Jönsson, Emil Salling Copyright: Pressure 2021

“Path of a Shadow”

Are you bold enough to endure the journey of your own pressures? This album takes you, the listener, on an adventure that are based on your life. Your shadow, the one that has been following you throughout it all tells your story as he has seen it through his dark but fiery eyes.

The story metal TRIO bring you THE PATH OF A SHADOW, THE DEBUT CONCEPT ALBUM was released worldwide on May 7th, 2021 from the guys in Sweden called PRESSURE.

Check them out on Spotify and add them to your playlists!

https://open.spotify.com/artist/7a9rKp03MYJv4leDN7Mm8k?si=MqTZ6t3HQjqeM0se1o6dqw

Self – Recorded in both English, German, and Swedish the album is masterfully done. The introduction of the Story Metal concept is something PRESSURE has done well with every track being a story within a bigger story about life’s pressures and how the shadow beside you is always around. From the beginning to the end, PATH OF A SHADOW will intrigue your conscious mind and you will realize things about yourself that you either did not know or was too afraid to tell. You will be left on the edge waiting for the next guitar riff as well as raw yet rigid and harmonious vocals. The story as life’s pressures has its ups and downs but that’s reality and that is what you get with this album. Songs, lyrics, and guitars that tell of your own true self! Reality that pressures exist, and you can either lay down and be run over or stand strong and conquer. Life is never easy but PRESSURE provides the tools to help you on your journey! The Shadow knows the path as he walks with you and sees it all! He will guide you on your path into the realm of life’s pressures! Do not worry, the shadow will never leave your side - he is always around.

Path of a Shadow: The Prelude

Lost in an ocean of terror and dishonor, you realize you are nothing but alone. You fall to your knees, whispering along the breeze, but the waves do not even reach you. You reach out to the stars, but they move further away. You swim and swim, but you drown until you decide to rise from the waters. Lit by the moon, you glisten in glory as you see me reflected on the sands you once hated. Unlike the waves that ignore, my support outpours. Unlike the stars that turn back, I’ll keep you safe from the pack of wolves that desire to devour you and have you gated. I am your Shadow, and this is my path. A journey that starts with you and concludes our wraths. They say ignorance is bliss, but I say to know is better than to dismiss. Now hear me!

The Band:

Who are Pressure I hear you ask? Well if you had to tag them with a genre the one that fits best is a ‘melodic rock’ but they’re so much more than that. Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden and with vocalist Olof Jönsson you can always guarantee soaring, athletic and committed vocals. Together with a twin guitar sound coming from songwriter and lead guitarist Simon “Siirpo” Forsell and Emil Salling. Their work often focuses and embraces the pressures felt from everyday existence. Their lyrics ably demonstrating that there are two sides to every story - the good and the bad. Every song has a double meaning and they truly see music as a tool to handle the different pressures thrown at us from the modern world.

The band began their journey together in 2018, and since then they’ve worked tirelessly developing their sound and live performance, their aim? To make memories with their fans and to an epic musical soundtrack.

A quote that can summarize their lyrics is: “How can you tell a story about life if you haven’t dared to live life to its fullest!

Pressure is all about every story, every moment, every Pressure!

“They are pioneering what they are calling Story Metal, which is combining heavy metal with elements of melodic rock, with a lot of focus on vocals in way to convey a story within their songs,” -FIRST ANGEL MEDIA

SCATTERED STORM TO RELEASE "OBLIVION" EP + VIDEO FOR "KINGSLAYER"

PRESS RELEASE:

Hailing from El Paso USA, Scattered Storm is gearing up to release their debut EP “Oblivion” this summer. Their sound is both primal and futuristic, with clean groovy tones coming from 7 and 8 string guitars and catchy, heavy vocals. The first single from this release is “Kingslayer” being presented with a music video.

“Kingslayer”, is the heaviest track and came about by guitarist Kevin Armstrong watching too much Godzilla, plus it features a “Stanley Kubrick inspired space like ending. They explain the track further in their own words:

“We felt this song really encompasses the overall sound of the band, because it has pretty much everything we wanted to throw in there. Big vocals, big guitars, pummeling bass, but most importantly that heavy ass steady groove, which will get some of these headbanging necks a run for their money. Lyrically touches on a couple of religious subjects plus the philosophical, but mostly focusing on letting go of all of that and being free of the mind and spirit.”

This new album isn’t a concept album, but each song meshes with the others and there is a distinct flow from one track to the next. Overall, it is captivating, showing off a band that is still experimenting with elements, but comes across as refined without sacrificing tightness.

The men behind Scattered Storm are not new entrants to the metal game. Jay Arriaga played in Random Allusion, and Years of Cold; Andre Acosta also belonged to Pissing Razors and Years Of Cold; Kevin Armstrong is currently with Mondoshawan and toured extensively with Section 6. Ed Razor is the founder of Pissing Razors and he also played drums with Overkill and bass with Ministry.

Those looking for music with a lot of ambience akin to Gojira, Tesseract, Fear Factory and Meshuggah will be interested in the futuristic sound of Scattered Storm.

The music video for “Kingslayer” can be watched via TheCirclePit's YouTube - https://youtu.be/5WbwojPueZ4

Digital pre-save - https://backl.ink/146809449

INFEX RELEASE "BURNING IN EXILE"

PRESS RELEASE:

Bay Area Thrashers INFEX will self-release Burning in Exile August 13 on CD, digital, and limited edition red translucent 12" vinyl formats. The official video for album track "Acid Reign" is available a youtu.be/EDjRsqTlfCE

Though the sound of Burning in Exile is firmly anchored in a ripping form of thrash metal, elements of old school hardcore and crossover metal are present as well. Having grown up during the Thrash Metal heyday and listening to genre pioneers like Exodus, Kreator, Destruction, Slayer, Dark Angel and the like, along with old-school hardcore influences like Discharge, Attitude Adjustment, Cryptic Slaughter, DRI, and Excel, INFEX blends the styles of all these and more into a raw outpouring of aggression and anger.

Burning in Exile was recorded at Trident Studios in Martinez, CA (Machine Head, Vio-Lence, Testament, Exodus). It was produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by Juan Urteaga. INFEX booked the studio time in late 2019 and began recording in March of 2020, right as the Covid-19 pandemic became serious. Due to the lockdown, the recording sessions were spaced out further than anticipated, resulting in the inspiration for the album title, Burning in Exile.

The band's album release show happens on August 14 at 3 Disciples Brewing in Santa Rosa, California.

Track Listing:

1- Blood of the Wicked

2- The Burning

3- Exiled

4- Acid Reign

5- The Abyss

6- Legions of Hate

7- Torn Apart

8- Beer Run

Line-up

Jack - Guitars and Vocals

Adam - Guitars and vocals

RC- Bass and vocals

Corey - Drums

BIO:

INFEX was formed in 2010 by Jack and Phil, who met via Craigslist while searching for others with similar interests. At their early jam sessions the beer and the riffs flowed freely and songs started to take shape fairly quickly. In 2011 after jamming with several drummers with mostly lackluster results, the two met drummer Corey, who stylistically fit in from the get go. A few months and several bass players later Dave came on board to round out the lineup and the band started playing shows, their first performance being in February of 2012. The group released debut full-length album Circling The Drain in August of that year.

In late 2012, Phil stepped down from the band to focus on his family, and INFEX soldiered on as a trio, while searching for a suitable replacement. Finally in early 2014, the band recruited Derek from the ashes of Bay Area Thrash youngsters Dizastor. This lineup lasted for a year, until Derek moved on to pursue other musical interests. Not faltering, INFEX took some time off from the local scene to begin recording their sophomore release, Killing for Jesus (January 2016), and in that process ended up recruiting Aaron on lead guitar.

In 2017 INFEX went on tour with crossover legends D.R.I. as well as playing with Exodus’ two night residency at San Francisco's The Chapel. Aaron left the band in late 2017 to pursue other interests, so the band enlisted Adam Weber (Embryonic Devourment) on lead guitar.

In 2018 Dave retired from music to manage his son’s band and INFEX recruited Ronald Morten-Maystein (RC) on bass. Invigorated with the new lineup and a new LP scheduled for release in summer of 2021, INFEX has once again hit the local Bay Area live circuit and are currently working on booking tours to support the ensuing release.

KORZUS RELEASE VIDEO FOR "YOU CAN´T STOP ME"

PRESS RELEASE:

Korzus proposes a reflection about the effects of bullying on the new single new single "You Can’t Stop Me".

The song brings to the viewer a debate and had a cinematographic video clip produced by the renowned director Leo Liberti.

In such an atypical moment caused by social isolation, the legendary Thrash metal band from São Paulo, Korzus has just made available to its fans a new single and a cinematographic video clip. The petard entitled “You Can’t Stop Me” causes chills in the listener and carries a strong message about human conduct. The concept of the video clip was developed together with the renowned director Leo Liberti, who signs several international projects.

The band, which has iconic albums in its discography, such as "Mass Illusion", "Ties of Blood" and "Discipline of Hate", is one of the biggest names in Brazilian metal and participated in the great festivals in the country, with memorable performances in the legendary "Monsters of Rock" and "Rock in Rio", besides having performed shows all over Europe and the United States in almost four decades of services provided to the world metal.

The single presents the powerful sound that marked the trajectory of success and suitability of the group. The track is a composition by the vocalist Marcello Pompeu and the drummer Rodrigo Oliveira (armored dawn).

The guitarist Heros Trench structured and recorded the guitars at Mr. Som Studio. Drums and bass were recorded at Dharma Studios, while Antônio Araújo recorded his parts in his home studio. Mixing and finishing were done at Mr. Som and Dharma Studios.

The video clip was directed, created, and produced by Leo Liberti, from Libertà Filmes. The professional has worked on video clips of world-renowned brands, such as Megadeth, Dee Snider, Europe, Nazareth, Angra, among others. “Metal has its own language and a very objective origin. It's a kind of directed hate used to find your inner warrior, hate used to find love. However, people use hate for hate, as an escape valve, they have no tolerance, patience, or kindness. This energy must be directed and it's necessary to show that what goes around, comes back around.”, comments the director.

The work was based on Oroboros, a mystical symbol represented by a snake or a dragon that bites its own tail. One of the main interpretations is that the serpent represents the infernal world, while the circle means the celestial. The cyclical karma of the message is that what you do, you receive, whether good or bad and is represented in the video clip scenes. The main thing is that when you change a life for the better, you are also changing yours.

Featuring

The music video for “You Can’t Stop Me” has many special guests: the actresses Pamela Punch and Fernanda Ferrer and their respective partners, Renan Schueroff and Vander Caselli; the performer Christian Cavalera, son of the legendary drummer Igor Cavalera; and Henrique Mello, who is part of the Korzus crew. “The idea of inviting Pamela and Renan came from Rodrigo. Christian was invited by me because I've been a fan of his performances for a long time. The other actors were invited by our director.”, says the lead singer, Marcello Pompeu.

With their latest single, Korzus wants to set an example for our society and convey a message of hope so that everyone can find themselves in this "new normal" and try to improve their interpersonal relationships, reduce hatred and spread respect for others.

“No one of us is as strong as all of us together"

PRIMALFROST RELEASE NEW SINGLE, "NOMAD"

PRESS RELEASE:

Just as the warm breeze and sun begin to thaw the cold expanse of Canada, the long-dormant Primalfrost from Toronto is rising from hibernation with a new single “Nomad” off a new eight-track album “Lost Elegies”.

Working away through the isolation of the Covid pandemic, band founder Dean Arnold expects a positive reception for the new music, citing that definitely a solid continuation of their sound, but in a matured, refined way.

“I’m incredibly excited to be bringing Primalfrost back. Grateful to say that things have finally aligned to make another album happen, and I believe the two first singles that I have released “Nomad” and “Maelstrom” are some killer tracks to showcase what else is to come. My vision with Primalfrost has always been to create an epic atmosphere and soundscape that has the heaviness and intensity to go with it. Nothing has been rushed, every song packs a punch, and I look forward to hearing what people have to say.” adds Dean Arnold.

“Lost Elegies” will be the second album from Primalfrost to follow “Prosperous Visions” (2014) (Maple Metal Records) and “Chapters of Time” (EP) (2012) (CDN Records). It was self-recorded by Dean Arnold before sending it off to be mixed and mastered by Jonathan Lefrancois-Leduc of Silverwings Studios in Montreal, Canada who also added additional orchestration. The album's artwork will be done by Jan Yrlund (Manowar, Tyr, Korpiklaani).

Primalfrost is the personal project of Dean Arnold who writes for and plays all instruments, as well as takes on vocal duties and orchestration. Primarily a guitarist, Dean has performed hundreds of shows in 30+ countries across four continents. Primarily touring with American death metal band Vital Remains, and now Toronto’s own Operus, Dean has acquired hard-touring experience in a vast variety of settings. Dean has had dozens of guitar solo appearances on a wide variety of metal albums, including Polish death metal band Hate’s 2017 album “Tremendum” (Napalm Records) and for Colorado’s Buried Realm, alongside players like Teemu Mäntysaari (Wintersun) and Brandon Ellis (Black Dahlia Murder).

Epic and dark, Primalfrost gives a nod to Finnish melodic death metal with added elements of grit, intensity, and speed found in more extreme subgenres. It is recommended for fans of Wintersun, Wolfheart, and Kalmah.

HEADSHRINKER RELEASE "CALLOUS INDIFERENCE"

PRESS RELEASE:

Headshrinker

Callous Indifference

Self-Released

27 August 2021

For as long as death metal has been around, gore and physical death have maintained their place as topics used ad nauseam. In recent times, the mind and how we are all destroyed from within continues to gain further ground as a more fertile and relatable subject matter to ground death metal within. It's in this vulnerable and soul-destroying terrain that Colorado-based death metal newcomers Headshrinker draws from to create their stunning debut album, Callous Indifference. Set for release on August 27th.

Although the Denver-based outfit is a new act, having only started in 2017, three of its four members have spent years honing their craft in the critically praised unconventional Chicago-based death/black metal group Polyptych. With the lineup on Callous Indifference rounded out by the considerable skills of Havok drummer Pete Webber. Together the group's incredibly gifted members spew out dark and crushing death metal and death/doom filtered through the many eras and styles of extreme metal. First and foremost, old school death metal made anew, in ways comparable to Diskord, Ulthar, and Tomb Mold. Secondly, with the addition of black metal elements sprinkled throughout the music on Callous Indifference, inspired by groups cited by the band such as Voices, Emperor, Shining, and Dark Fortress.

Lastly, and most importantly, Callous Indifference is imbued with a Pyrrhon-esque deconstructed approach that colors all of the album's songs with a distinctly unorthodox and unhinged quality. The end result makes for an intense and unique album that charts its own course, and in the process fully delivers on its vision of creating suffocating death metal that embodies the steep toll mental health issues extract from each of us.

Headshrinker - Callous Indifference is highly recommended for fans of bands such as Pyrrhon, Ulthar, Tomb Mold, Dismembered, and Diskord. Given their wide range of influences across multiple genres, the group also cites further influences ranging from Akercocke, Triptykon, Celtic Frost, and Chelsea Wolfe among others.

Headshrinker comment on the release of Callous Indifference

"This record symbolizes the large struggle I have faced with mental health over the years and is inspired by persevering through dark times and the will/strength to battle through when the outlook is bleakest. Its themes touch upon self-isolation, emotional disconnect, lack of trust, insomniac struggle, and existential crisis but it all left for the listener to interpret on their own term. We all have our ways of dealing with pain, and this record embraces the pain and finds the expression born out of raw emotion. I also hope it paints mental health in light that shows it to be more than its singular stereotype and stigma. We all struggle and only death is real."

Headshrinker - Callous Indifference Line-Up

Young Werther – Vocals, Guitar, Synths, Extra instruments (Polyptych, Closed Casket, ex-Austaras)

Pete Webber – Drums (Havok, Nuclear Power Trio, ex- Ravage, ex-The Absence)

FUNERAL CHASM PREMIERS NEW TRACK "SUNRISE VERTIGO"

PRESS RELEASE:

Hailing from Denmark, doom entity FUNERAL CHASM conspires with Aesthetic Death to release “Omniversal Existence”, the band’s first album, on July 2nd 2021.

Today FUNERAL CHASM are premiering the album's first single, "Sunrise Vertigo". Watch the lyric video at THIS LOCATION.

FUNERAL CHASM was formed in February 2020 as a spontaneous reaction. Morten ”Sjaelepest" Lund (ex-Devil, ex-Kaos666) and Danny Woe (Altar of Oblivion, ex-Woebegone Obscured) have been friends for over twenty years and both play in black metal band Above Ravens - but they felt like experimenting with more atmospheric and slow music - so the idea for FUNERAL CHASM had begun.

The EP “I” was recorded during a weekend and would later be released on tape through Old Skull Productions.

Influenced by bands such as Fields of the Nephilim, Sisters of Mercy, Celtic Frost, Burzum, Ved Buens Ende, Thergothon and Vangelis, the band soon came up with the album “Omniversal Existence” containing inspirations from those different genres and sounds.

Lyrical topics are based on Danny Woe’s personal experience of struggling with insomnia, alongside the anxiety, depressions and issues that arise from living with that illness through an entire life.

“Insomnia is an everyday struggle to live with. I’ve been through the psychiatric medical system for almost 2 decades, and have learned to deal with the thought patterns that come with a lack of sleep. Anxiety and depression being far the worst, as it affects my decisions around the people I care about. When those emotions are peaking, I have learned that the most effective way to break that thought loop is to visit my forest cabin with a friend and eat some magic mushrooms, which help me from spiralling further down into the abyss. I have tried to describe these monumental trips in every song, and what I’ve learned through them. Sometimes you just get a nice relaxing visit into another dimension, but other times you can experience deeper knowledge about yourself (often referred to as a “bad trip" or “ego-death"), and that is the moment where you listen and get the opportunity to evolve. At least for myself, that is what I have tried to convey in the lyrics, and how we arranged the song structure, melodies and moods accordingly”.

“Omniversal Existence” is a deep, personal and sublime piece of extreme doom. It is an introspective reflection, that is full of visceral emotion.

Album tracklist:

01. Embellishment of Inception

02. The Truth That Never Was

03. Mesmerising Clarity

04. Extracting the Flesh from the Gods

Formed in 2014, under the influence of The Stooges and Black Sabbath, this quartet have put together a formidable blend of dirty 70’s style rock, doom, and blues that’d make the devil blush. They go one better with each of their studio work, outstripping the caliber of the previous albums. Their live shows come with an energy that leaves the audiences with their brains tingling and knees weak. They were fortunate to play RPM Fest ’19 and open for The Obsessed.

High n’ Heavy’s upcoming release, V, sees the band continue their ascent towards the rock n’ roll mountain top. Going back into the studio with Trevor Vaughan at the helm, their sound is larger than ever before. The songwriting and performance on this album prove yet again that they are a band that’s found its groove, but is also just getting started. The Eight massive tracks of the LP eventually turn out to be their greatest offering to the gods of rock n’ roll!

“High n’ Heavy are beyond excited to continue working with Electric Valley Records on our second release with the label,” the band says. “The support from EVR, along with the bands that make up their amazing family, has helped bring this album’s vision to fruition.”
