Delving into the demonic underworld, Austrian black metal outfit IN CRUCEM AGERE are not afraid to dig deep into the dark elements of the human condition. The outfit have joined forces with extreme metal underground label code666, and are preparing to release their new album Calling the Void.

The band comments: 

"We are honoured to announce our signing with code666, an ideal partner in crime to release our new album “Calling the Void”. In  IN CRUCEM AGERE has been operating since 2010, drawing inspiration from human abysses and the darkness in men, and now, eleven years and two albums later, nothing, yet everything has changed. The band's bleak view on life and mankind is unbroken, and this new opus takes it to new musical levels. This is both a continuation, as much as it is a new beginning. “Calling the Void” is still rooted in traditional black metal, but has transformed the band into a beast of abstract, avantgarde madness. The album was produced by no less than Florian “Alboin” Dammasch, probably best known for his band Eis. We cannot wait to unleash this manifest onto the masses!"

NORDIC NOISE FESTIVAL ANNOUNCE 10th YEAR ANNIVERSARY EDITION FOR 2022

Nordic Noise celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2022

With the iconic German heavy metal band BLIND GUARDIAN at the top of the bill - last time they played the Danish shores was in 2016 with a completely packed concert at Copenhell - Nordic Noise proves that it's now among the heavyweights within the Danish rock and metal festival scene. Danish portal Devilution also acknowledged the Copenhell concert with 4/5 stars and the headline "Worth the wait", as well as heavymetal.dk with 8/10 stars.

The melodic Swedish folks in SOILWORK are the sure choice as the second headliner, joined by another Swedish band with wind in their sails: LIV SIN. Otherwise, we welcome back to some of the festival's greatest experiences over the years in the form of Swedish ELECTRIC BOYS and American KICKIN VALENTINA. And together with the already announced Danish death metal names KONKHRA and DETEST, a third veteran band within the genre, THORIUM, now joins the party. For fans of the more traditional metal, Nordic Noise 2022 has already announced the festival favorites TYGERS OF PAN TANG from England, who will do the hat trick at the festival, as well as enduring household names MANTICORA and ARTILLERY.

Thursday night kick-starts at the venue High Voltage in Copenhagen, where Swedish BATTERING RAM and Danish ETHEREAL KINGDOMS and ARSENIC ADDICT will warm up well for the antics. Admission to this concert is only available via a guest list that is offered exclusively on a first-come, first-served basis to anyone who has purchased Early Bird tickets for Nordic Noise 2022. Early bird tickets expire on 5 October (see description below).

Michael H. Andersen, Nordic Noise founder says "Ten years go by fast, even though it has been a bit of a roller coaster ride to find the musical form and the right venue to host Nordic Noise. We finally really succeeded in 2019 with names like Candlemass and Night Flight Orhestra on the bill, and then came the corona..."

MHA continues: "But we have thought out of the box during the pandemic. In 2020, we spontaneously made the first international 2-day metal/rock streaming festival "Screaming For Vengeance" (name later stolen by a certain magazine), which received media coverage worldwide, was seen by ¼ million viewers, and was a "first mover case" in many aspects.

This year, Nordic Noise was the first Danish festival opening the doors after the first covid reopening on May 6th. With nationwide media coverage from National Television and Radio. AND a euphoric experience... with mouth pieces and seated shows. Since the summer, we have also given joy to metal fans and bands with two successful Nordic Noise: Metal Aid festivals.

We have not given up or laid down in the last two years, and therefore Nordic Noise is now stronger than ever, and my team and I are very proud of the program we have put together for 2022".

Work is currently underway, on brewing a special Nordic Noise 10-year anniversary beer in 1000 bottles and in Angioni Studios a Nordic Noise 10-year tribute song is being written right now, which is rumored to be inspired by a certain Dio tribute song from the 80s.

This year's Poster 2022 is called "The Royal Vapula" and was designed by Karsten Sand (Copenhell, Mercyful Fate, Volbeat).

Stagewar, founded in 2003 in the Frankfurt area, live up to their name and have developed into a tireless live band over the last few years, playing a good 200 shows to date, with more to follow after the release of their third long-player "Danger To Ourselves". Whispering Voice Records is proudly presenting yet another release. This time from the Norwegian black metal heavy hitters, Arvas.

Since the release of Equanimity in 2019, the band has been working hard on material for a new album, and the result of that work has been put into VI.

EVOKING WINDS RELEASE REMASTERED VERSION OF "SILENT DAWN"

 

PRESS RELEASE:

Atmospheric metal meets folklore fantasy in music by Evoking Winds. It’s a mixture of stormy blast beats with an epic ambiance and a healthy dose of Eastern Europe’s dark tales.

The band was originally founded by Artyom Prishchepov together with Ivan Sereda in Belarus in 2008 as the way close friends created music together. They composed music for years just for fun and inspiration, and the band has eventually grown over a decade: adding Yaroslav Korotkin on vocals and bass, Sergey Shulzhenko (keys and orchestration), Dmitry Sarychau on guitars, and Alexander Cherepanov doing vocals. Today the musicians live around the world: Belarus, USA, China, Russia - and collaborate online. Recently they decided to re-mix and issue all of their music digitally available for everyone for free, featuring James Knoerl on drums and programming. Starting with the very first works they walk the journey again opening new chapters together. This sense of friendship is something everyone really started to value during pandemics and isolation.

Press release: Back to our folklore roots, the album tells the dark and authentic tales we listened to as kids here in Eastern Europe. Its culture code reflects the way nature behaves here, where the land is covered with endless swamps and pre-historic woods. The lyrics (available at the Bandcamp along with free lossless downloads) are grounded by the philosophy of nature, life, and death, and leaning towards the atmospheric black metal sound comparing to the band's debut album.

NORTHTALE RELEASE NEW TRACK: "ONLY HUMAN"

In August 2019, power metal newcomers NORTHTALE released their successful first album"Welcome To Paradise". After their debut show at SABATON OPEN AIR in Sweden followed by shows in Japan, the band underwent a lineup change and after months of auditions, the new vocalist, Guilherme Hirose from Sao Paolo, Brazil was chosen.

Now, after releasing several re-recorded songs from "Welcome To Paradise" with Guilherme on vocals, the band finally announces their new album, “Eternal Flame”, which is set to be released on November 12th via Nuclear Blast. NORTHTALE is an international five piece Power Metal band which was formed in 2017 by guitarist Bill Hudson (DORO, TSO, ex-U.D.O), who was initially writing songs for a solo album. Drummer Patrick Johansson (ex-Yngwie Malmsteen/W.A.S.P), keyboardist Jimmy Pitts, bassist Mikael Planefeldt and former singer Christian Eriksson (ex-TWILIGHT FORCE) joined during the demo stages, when a decision was made to turn the project into a full time band. The groups’s debut album, “Welcome To Paradise” was released in August 2019 via Nuclear Blast to very high international acclaim and great reviews on the specialized media worldwide.

In the Summer of 2020 the band chose its new vocalist, Guilherme Hirose, after a worldwide search which included 40 candidates from 11 different countries.

After a near death experience (previous to the pandemic), guitarist/vocalist Torie John formed Holy Death. In the years prior to this event, death was not an uncommon occurrence in his life having lost several family members in a very short period of time. It is from this loss that Holy Death finds its morbid inspiration. Since the band formed, they've put out four releases that explored the sonic realms of Death and Doom. Their last EP which we released as a 12" Vinyl (w/ a silk screened B Side), Deus Mortis, was a meditation on the balance between these genres, whereas Separate Mind From Flesh is much more influenced by 90's Sludge/Doom acts like Grief, Warhorse, and even Crowbar. Lyrically the songs continue to be held together by a common thread of the pursuit of spiritual and metaphysical freedom.

Frontwoman Aure comments: “Lady of Death” is a song about Aileen Wuornos. I absolutely wanted to put her on our album because I find her fascinating. I have studied her story a lot, I have a lot of compassion for her despite the fact that she has murdered people. That’s why the text isn’t very violent or bloody, it’s more based on how she feels. She had a lot of suffering in her.

For the video clip we got closer to her psychological state. That’s why we chose the actress who clearly embodied her conscience and the struggle within her."

Valar Morghulis, hailing from Salisbury, NC is a metal band blended by five guys who all love metal and have a broad range of influences. Combining elements of thrash metal, death metal, black metal, groove metal and doom metal, we strive to make music that fans of multiple sub-genres would like. 

We started making music in the spring of 2019 and playing shows by fall that year. We recorded our self-titled EP in January 2020 which was released on 2/29/2020. Little did we know the COVID-19 was about to change the music world as we know it. During this time of lockdowns, limited gatherings, ups and downs, we continue writing new material an will again head to the studio in early 2021 with Audio Helm Studios in Charlotte, NC to record our next EP that will release Summer 2021. 

Our latest single Among the Ashes is available for streaming on almost all streaming sources, and for purchase via digital download on Bandcamp and CDBaby. We will be releasing more singles from the EP over the Fall of 2021. With shows opening back up, we are playing some live again, before returning to work on some new materials we've been writing the past year.

On the occasion of the twentieth discographic anniversary of Morgan Lacroix and Terry Horn’s band, September 24th will see the release of “Nothing But The Best”, with the addition of previously unreleased tracks like “Jeanne D’Arc” and “Spiritual leadin’” and of three new songs which will be part of the new full length, scheduled for the end of 2022.

The first 100 copies of the album will come along with a celebratory poster (size 50x70).

The record will be distributed by Egea Music (Italy), Code 7 UK (Europe), Fans and bands Mexico (Mexico), Sleaszy Rider Records (USA Romania and Greece) and Wormholedeath Japan.

The MANDRAGORA SCREAM project - dark-gothic-rock band - takes shape in 1997 from an idea of the band’s lead singer MORGAN LACROIX. In 1999 Morgan cuts a demo CD with four tracks, titled "PromoTrack99" at the NEW SIN studios in Italy.

In 2000, Morgan is introduced to singer, guitarist and composer Terry Horn. The result of this magical artistic union is the debut album "FAIRY TALES FROM HELL'S CAVES", Published in 2001 by German independent label NUCLEAR BLAST/CAPIRANHA RECORDS.

Fairy Tales is definitely a concept album: a trip throughout the Dantean Hell, tormented by passion, anguish and insanity, where the character of Virgil is surprisingly replaced by an unusual bewitching vampire fairy.

In 2002 MANDRAGORA SCREAM release their second album "A Whisper of Dew", by NUCLEAR BLAST. Once again a concept album, centred on the enthralling vampire story purposely written for the band by Julio Angel Olivares Merino, horror-gothic literature writer and “ English Philosophy ” Teacher at the Spanish “UNIVERSIDAD DE JAEN”. Drawing inspiration from this tale, Morgan has composed the entire album lyrics.

In May 2003 MandragorA ScreaM are on the road touring with Mortiis on the Smell Of Rain Europe Tour 2003.

In 2005 MandragorA ScreaM  Release the Album “Madhouse” for Lunatic Asylum Records in Europe​

In the end of 2008, 2 new members are on MandragorA ScreaM Line Up, Furyo on Drums and Max River on Bass.

In 2009 the band sign a New Deal with new World Management Gatti Promotion Heavy Division, the new management is based in Italy, in November 2009 MandragorA ScreaM Release the new Album “Volturna” a great explosion Industrial/Gothic Album.

The new Management find two Important Deals, Volturna is Out in Italy with Lunatic Asylum/Self, and in the World with the important Label Massacre Records, finally

PANSSARITUHO RELEASE "LOPUTON TEURASTUS"

Panssarituho was created around 2019. The band began much earlier by Extermus and Invicto while they were drinking and listening to their favorite records, But when Macellarius jumped behind the drums, things started to move forward. Extermus is the band's main writer but Invicto does all bass lines and Macellarius writes drumparts. Lyrics are mainly written by Extermus and Macellarius, with some help by Invicto. We mostly write about war, because we think that it is a very interesting, but cruel and violent subject to write about. We recorded demos very old school way with very low budget. The new recording "Loputon Teurastus", is way more produced, but it is still uncompromising. There is still no digital improvements in this record and it is mixed and produced by ourselves. So what you hear you will definitely get also in live situations. The songs are a bit more thrashier than the demo songs, but the topics are still the same. We really believe, that the true and authentic music and the way of making it, is way more satisfying than just do everything the same way than everyone else. Never say never, but Panssarituho will always sound raw and brutal!

AUTOKRATOR RELEASE "PERSECUTION"

PRESS RELEASE:

French formidable force Autokrator announces the details of the 4th full-length, Persecution, slated for release on 05 November via Krucyator Productions on different formats: CD, Vinyl, and digital. The album serves as a distressing narrative of the persecution of Christians during the Roman Empire.

As the first taste of the album, Autokrator presents the track, “The Great Persecution.” The appalling doomy death/black duo teamed up with Decibel Magazine for the premiere of the single (full article RIGHT HERE).

Guitarist/bassist Loïc Fontaine states:

“‘The Great Persecution’ is a song about the Diocletianic persecution of the Christians. Diocletian drafted four edicts which lead to destructions of cult places, deprivation of some rights, arrests, tortures, sacrifices.”

With three lauded albums, Autokrator has already become a fearsome name in the underground. Notorious for their unconventional, harrowing, and hazardous sonic power, the French duo has constantly been extending the limits of extreme music, interspersing death metal with pulverizing doom, earsplitting noise, terrifying black metal, or cadaverous dark experimentation.

On the impending album, Persecution, Autokrator continues recreating the violent episodes from the past. Once again, using historical incidents as the album theme, the band recounts the persecution of Christians during the ancient Roman Empire — under the reigns of Marcus Aurelius, Diocletian, Domitian, and Trajan. Make no mistake, the record has nothing to do with glorifying the barbarity; it rather conjures up the cruel and dreadful sufferings of the victims — be it decapitation, execution, lapidation, damnatio ad bestias, dislocation, imprisonment, or banishment.

A trial fraught with danger, the album Persecution sees Autokrator entering into a new trajectory of death/black metal, shrouded by menacing, grotesque atmosphere. Musically, the suffocating 6-track record is the most intense and gnarliest offering by the duo thus far.

Kevin Paradis (Benighted, Mithridatic), who played drums on the previous record, again joined forces with Autokrator to lend his vicious, torrential blasts.

FUNERAL FOR TWO RELEASE "II" EP

From its inception, Hallows Die has always forged a repertoire of songs exemplifying the belief that no label should be placed on musical expression. The result: Odd melodies intertwined with bizarre time changes and unpredictable song structures condemning the band to stand out amongst the rest. Considered by listeners to be a melting pot of genres, Hallows Die strives to play uncanny and original material that continues to evoke interest while evolving into a musical entity that cannot be classified under any one specific genre.

Hallows Die followed up their debut EP with the release of their first full-length studio album “World of Ruin”, in collaboration with Dan Swanö (Bloodbath, Opeth, Katatonia). The album quickly received critical acclaim and lead to Hallows Die hitting the road nationally alongside such acts as The Black Dahlia Murder, Dark Tranquillity, Arsis, Aborted, Cryptopsy, Municipal Waste, Napalm Death, Krisiun, and Atheist.

In 2013, after several years of relentlessly touring Canada, Hallows Die took a hiatus from the road to write and record their sophomore release: “Masks”. The band took the initiative to hit the studio to record on their own, ensuring the music stayed true to what they have always envisioned. Soon after, they took the unmixed renderings to Jurekk Whipple (Kobra And The Lotus) at The Edge of Attack Studio in Grande Praire, Alberta, resulting in crystal-clear mix job.

Upon its return from Western Canada, Hallows Die sent the final mix to the farthest corner of Scandinavia where the highly acclaimed Dan Swanö would once again lend his mastering talents, and bring “Masks” to completion. A tremendous job was accomplished in pulling all the band’s hard work together into a sonic array of brutally clever riffs and passages that one would have a difficult time labelling.

While Hallows Die worked diligently on the upcoming release, they achieved some milestones that would continue to support their craft: in 2013, the band was nominated for the Mississauga Arts Council best emerging act, and in 2014 they were the winners of the Toronto independent Music Awards for best metal act.

With the sophomore release completed and in hand, Hallows Die has their eyes once again set on hitting the road extensively in supporting “Masks” and ensuring the band’s sharp upward trajectory.

Seasoned progressive/technical death metallers Xenosis are excited to announce their upcoming fourth full-length, Paralleled Existence. Set for release on Friday, October 1st.

Active since 2009, the Wallingford, Connecticut band has always sought to up their game in the studio and live and expand their sound with every new release. Although still an independent band, Xenosis has made waves in the progressive/technical death metal scene beginning with their 2nd album, Sowing The Seeds Of Destruction. Which was released in 2015, and continuing into the present, most recently with the release of their highly praised 3rd album, Devour and Birth.

Fast-forward to 2021, and the band's upcoming album, Paralleled Existence, runs parallel to the bands biggest line-up shift in years, with the band adding a more groove/progressive music influenced second guitarist Keith Benway as well as new bassist, backing vocalist Craig Breitsprecher of Fires in the Distance (Prosthetic Records) fame who also previously played with Xenosis guitarist Kenny Bullard in the tech-death group Formless. New blood in the ranks has paid off, and Paralleled Existence sees the group moving away from being purely a tech-death act, as they lean into their increased groove and progressive focuses to craft a new updated sound this time around.

The result of the group's latest sonic evolution still feels like Xenosis, a group known for their keen ability to mix old and new, primitive and complex, groove-heavy and blazing fast, into a swirling maelstrom of their own invention. Xenosis - Paralleled Existence is the work of a band redefining themselves once more to admirable effect.

Xenosis - Paralleled Existence will strongly appeal to fans of Death, Martyr, Meshuggah, Blotted Science, Obscura, The Faceless, and Morbid Angel.
