"The more I listen to this second record, the more I come to the conclusion that the atmospheric part is less than the ravenous standard black metal side, which is greatly influenced by the fast and intrusive percussion. Despite that, there’s quite often synths that inject the ambient flavour in the melody and force it towards a more harmonious and delicate textures. Something that was already present in the debut, but pursuing this time a fiercer black metal path. However, such mellow sections do not weigh too much in the whole aesthetic in order to dispel the pure malevolence this music carries.

Not sure which record I like more, but this one is also a fine piece, regardless which black metal path you prefer the best."

PERSONAL RECORDS is proud to present LITOSTH's highly anticipated third album, Cesariana, on CD format to be reased on February 2nd, 2024.

LITOSTH is the physical manifestation of the visions of Brazilian multi-instrumentalist Maicon Ristow and bassist Wendel Siota. Founded in 2016, LITOSTH channel a torrent of feelings and life principles in the form of music, which definitely does not respect any type of barrier or limitation.

Formed by members of the most prominent black metal bands in Latin America (Patria, Mysteriis, Swords at Hymns, Dark Celebration, I Gather your Grief), LITOSTH bring a new approach and a breath of fresh air with their unique way of creating music. Following two albums - 2019's Crossed Parallels of Self Refraction and 2022's Farther From the Sun - LITOSTH are now set to release their third full-length, Cesariana. Armed with absolutely top-notch production, Cesariana sees the duo go even deeper in their quest, delivering a mix of almost unthinkable influences. The basis is melodic black metal of a most '90s vintage, but threading inside and out this visceral work are everything from dark pop from the '80s, epic classical music, and a wide swath of other metals - doom and dark metal, especially. Cesariana is thus a work that feels boundless and brave, all the while exhibiting a focus that's exceptionally concise given that breadth.

But, lest one think LITOSTH are betraying their black metal roots, think again: Cesariana contains a massive amount of melodic black metal grandeur, cosmic and symphonic in equal measure, sheathed in a soundfield that allows all atmospheric undercurrents to vividly convey the band's vision. That theme sees Cesariana as a resilience manifesto, written in eight songs that celebrate the tragedy and the curse about the fact of being alive, even against one's will. It is a cry not of agony, but of revolt - against the establishment, and against the magic formula for happiness. And it was never just music…

AN INTRICATE AND ROTTEN DEATH METAL CHAPTER!

DEIMLER was originally created in 1998 and ceased activity in 2001 without any albums or professional recordings. Until 2018, Pako Deimler revived DEIMLER from the ashes with a sound based on the classic Finnish and Swedish death metal of the early 90s. Their acclaimed debut EP "Zero One" was released in 2020 via Awakening Records, and a year later DEIMLER signed to the mighty label XTREEM MUSIC and released their first full-length album "A Thousand Suns".

Now, DEIMLER returns with its highly anticipated second full-length album, IMMORTALIZED, featuring 10 tracks in the purest DEIMLER style, plus three intro-environmental tracks. The new album was created between October 2021 and June 2022 and is based on the concept of "Alien the 8th Passenger", focusing on the figure of its protagonist Ellen Ripley, and its antagonist the Xenomorph. Musically, it's still the same old-school death metal that DEIMLER is so passionate about, but the more intricate and rotten new material won't leave you indifferent!

Back in 1989, Suffer formed at the dawn of death metal’s Midwestern rise. Teenagers at the time, they were one of the first extreme metal bands in South Dakota. Now they return with their first new music in 8 years: 3 new songs and an accompanying DVD called Gristle, Bruised Spots & Trimmed Fat.

“This new material is absolute proof that you don't have to “age out” of Death Metal,” comments vocalist/guitarist C.R. Petit. “Suffer was formed in 1989, and 2024 will mark 35 years for us. There is no doubt that this album is the absolute best material we have done together.”

The opening single “Human Primal Cuts” introduces the band’s brutal modus operandi. Their collision of old school gore and modern brutality will appeal to fans of Carcass, Asphyx, and Undeath. C.R. Petit and bassist Jason Ellsworth are also both members of Angerot (Redefining Darkness Records) as well as Empty Throne (Wise Blood Records). After releasing outstanding music from both of those bands the last few years, new music from Suffer was hopeful, but never guaranteed.

“To be honest, I really didn't think we would [release another album],” Petit admits. “Most of us have moved on with other bands and projects, family and careers. But, there is something incredibly special to each of us when it comes to Suffer. Something that makes it nearly impossible to just walk away from.”

To celebrate the project’s endurance, Suffer has compiled a splatter of live footage, interviews, and retrospective insight for a DVD included in the CD edition of the EP. Gristle, Bruised Spots & Trimmed Fat smashes the cemetery gates open on December 15th, 2023. Suffer returns with their full-length comeback album in 2024.

The world of FARSOT is a bleak and harsh place. This pitch black realm is ruled by warring kings that are named Death, Fear, Grief, and Hatred. The Germans' signature musical handwriting has always been reflecting these dark avatars and their fourth album "Life Promised Death" is no exception. "Life Promised Death" is the true heir of all that FARSOT have done so far. What makes this album different is a higher density of sound and harsh riffing as well as surprisingly captivating songs that even border on being catchy. According to the band, this is due to Grunge having been a major source of inspiration for "Life Promised Death". What seems unlikely at a first superficial listening becomes audible at a more intense engagement with the album.

Lyrically,FARSOT are spinning a suitably dark yarn that runs as a thematic thread throughout "Life Promised Death". The album revolves around life slipping out of hand. FARSOT emerged from the East German city of Gotha in Thuringia in 1999. This also turns 2024 into the band's 25th anniversary year. Considering the long successful history of this avantgarde black metal act, it is quite remarkable that of the five current members, three are still from the original founders of FARSOT and four of them have been playing together for more than 20 years. Following their own artistic pace, FARSOT have taken all the time needed to create their fourth masterpiece. The beautifully bittersweet fruit of all the hard work and creative blood, sweat, and tears was worth the effort: "Life Promised Death" is the perfect soundtrack for these dark and disturbing times of trouble.
