The fourth studio album by Demonic-eyed named simply - ʺ4“- is probably the hardest album of the band so far. It includes eight tracks in Slovak and English. The songs are uncompromising and pumped up. They speak about the reality of nowadays life, but also about the horrors of the past. Of course, the classical themes of Chernoboh and Dagon are presented again. The music is gloomy, but at the same time brisk. Dark riffs counter the stomping drums and bubbling bass guitar. With their intensity, vocals evoke the image of a siren drawing attention to the balefulness of the world. The band tries to arouse a socially appropriate reaction to processes and events surrounding us. The first video will be for the song ʺBlood like Waterʺ. It's a shot of ultra HC and an actual anti-war message. The band is currently playing and booking gigs and creating music that reflects human mentality.

HANGING GARDEN formed in 2004, starting out as a heavy, doom-oriented project. Roughly two decades, seven albums and a couple of line-up shuffles later, the band shifted to a more melodic, contemporary sound, surrounded by a veil of melancholy.
The compositions are dark, atmospheric & emotional, and concomitantly lean towards open-minded and playful musicality. While entrenched in metal's doom, gothic and melodeath branches, HANGING GARDEN displays a versatile, many-layered style of playing, packs female & male vocals, and draws influence & inspiration from music and art, far and wide.
The new album - "The Garden" - dives deep into atmospheres both "tender and harsh, devilish and serene" and "embarks upon a journey to mankind's spiritual roots, contemplating the fragility of our technological society" - as poetically described by the band. "There is a kind of energy in the songs that there wasn’t before," introspects Toni Hatakka of HANGING GARDEN. "A feel of hope to contrast our old friend the despair, a strong notion of action against the familiar melancholy, or maybe a light amidst the comfortable gloom."
"The Garden", the follow-up to "Skeleton Lake" (2021), was produced by Jussi Hämäläinen (vocals, guitars) and Jarno Hänninen. The album was mixed and mastered by the latter at D-studio (Beherit, Shape of Despair). Cover artwork and new band photos are by Finnish artist Kalle Pyyhtinen. "The Garden" marks the return of new-old drummer Antti Ruokola, last seen in HANGING GARDEN seven years ago.

We are really excited to finally put out a new album. It has been quite a rough time for the band: the lineup has changed which led to the change of the sound of the band, which led to the change of the band name completely. The pandemic took over the world and put all of our plans in slow motion. At times it felt like it had been one step forward and two steps back, so it took us almost four years to make “Devouring Gloom”. But it is finally finished and it seems that with this release we have finally managed to properly channel our creative vision. This darker, more dissonant and chaotic sound felt like a natural evolution of AORTES.
The central themes of the album deal with the struggle of the overwhelming feeling of despair, hopelessness, loneliness - or as we thought of it - a gloom that surrounds and devours you. Sometimes you find the strength to fight it off, other times you admit defeat. But there is always hope.

CALIGARI RECORDS is proud to present ACT OF IMPALEMENT's highly anticipated second album, Infernal Ordnance, on CD and cassette tape formats.
Formed in 2012, Nashville's ACT OF IMPALEMENT steadily sharpened their sound over a handful of demos and EPs, culminating in the 2018 debut album, Perdition Cult. Always a power-trio, ACT OF IMPALEMENT's sound has never been easy to categorize; galloping, oft-doomy death metal and blackened crust are always at the fore, but Perdition Cult showed ever more sides to the band, including moshable thrash and blown-out sludge. This relative variety should've proved a boon, but ACT OF IMPALEMENT went on a recording hiatus thereafter.
Work began on ACT OF IMPALEMENT's second album in February 2020, when all instruments were recorded; vocals were then done in March 2021, with everything recorded & mixed by Yautja's Shibby Poole. The wait was definitely worth it, for Infernal Ordnance is a monstrous work, with ACT OF IMPALEMENT at their gutsfucking and most focused best. Eschewing some of the variety of its full-length predecessor, ACT OF IMPALEMENT's second album surges forward with more songwriting finesse; every riff is given maximal room to inflict damage, every segment carried forward to its conclusion, and every transition seamless. That the power-trio can still show traces of Cianide, Bolt Thrower, Prophecy of Doom, and even Archgoat - often, all in the same song - and make it meld together consistently and compellingly is no small feat. Add to that their characteristically GUTTED guitar & bass tone and Infernal Ordnance verily becomes its namesake. Perhaps best yet, the album doesn't overstay its welcome: ACT OF IMPALEMENT get in and slaughter in a mere 29 minutes.
With world-eating mastering courtesy of Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studios and stark cover by Diablo Macabre, ACT OF IMPALEMENT have undeniably delivered their best record yet in Infernal Ordnance.
