About Pits

Pits was founded in 2022 by guitarist Alex to bring a decade of accumulated musical ideas to life. What began as a solo songwriting effort evolved into a full lineup with the addition of vocalist Andrey later that year, followed by the arrival of Rodion (drums) and Aleksandr (bass) in 2024.

Bringing together members from established acts, the band combines veteran experience with a distinct approach to the genre. Their debut album, Macabre Luxuria, showcases this chemistry—melding Alex’s melodic blackened riffing and Rodion’s blast beats with Alex’s progressive fretless bass and Andrey’s searing vocals.

About album:

On their debut full-length, Macabre Luxuria, Pits explores the heavier side of the progressive spectrum without losing touch with raw emotion. The quartet creates a soundscape that feels unstable and alive, shifting effortlessly from ferocity to introspection.

The music is defined by its rhythm section—where aggressive drumming meets the nuanced, fluid lines of a fretless bass—providing a complex foundation for blackened guitar work and searing vocals. Lyrically, the album tackles the "luxury" of demise, painting scenes of scorched earth and internal consumption. From the creeping dread of "Premonition" to the apocalyptic crescendo of "Nero’s Blues," Pits offers a debut that is as crushing as it is articulate.

BORROWER RELEASE "KILLERDEMONS"

 

PRESS RELEASE:

Italian heavy prog metallers Borrower are ready to unveil full details of their upcoming album “Killerdemons”, scheduled for release on February 13, 2026 in CD and Digital formats via Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records.

“Killerdemons” represents a decisive new step in the band’s creative evolution and stands as a direct continuation of the conceptual path introduced in 2018 with the EP “A Plague Chapter…”. The new album expands that vision into a darker and more articulated narrative, where music, imagery and storytelling merge into a single, coherent universe.

Recorded between December 2024 and May 2025 at Underhouse Studio in Presicce Acquarica Le and Aremstudio in Ruffano Le, the album was engineered by Roger Maglie, with additional recordings handled by Frank Formoso and Mass Ratano. The result is an intense and cinematic work that balances heavy progressive metal structures with sharp songwriting and a strong visual imagination.

Conceptually, “Killerdemons” tells the story of the birth and existence of a squad of humanoid demons. Each entity is defined by precise physical traits and armed with its own specific weapon. The album consists of eight tracks, and each song focuses on a different demon, giving shape to a broader saga that is meant to evolve beyond music alone.

Borrower envision “Killerdemons” as a multi layered project. Following the album release, each character may be further developed not only musically, but also visually and within the entertainment sphere, embracing graphics, videos and potentially interactive media.

The previously released single “Dream on Fire” offered a first glimpse into this universe. Now the band is ready to push the narrative further with the next visual chapter, “El Degollador”, whose official video will deepen the dark mythology behind the album.
