SUFFER UK RELEASE "SOUL FROM FLESH"

PRESS RELEASE:

Wolverhampton’s groove-laden slamming deathcore heavyweights, Suffer UK, have officially announced the release of their eagerly awaited new EP, 'Soul From Flesh', set to drop on 7th August 2026 through Arson Theory. Ringing in a definitive new era for the five-piece, the EP showcases a fresh, revitalised lineup and serves as a brutal statement of intent for the year ahead.

Formed in late 2018, Suffer UK quickly established themselves as a force in the UK metal scene, making their live debut in 2019 supporting Annotations of an Autopsy. Over the last five years, the band has released a string of singles, the Heavy Silence EP, and their full-length album The Sorrow We Sow, The Hatred We Know, while touring the UK and Europe alongside heavy hitters like Decapitated, Black Tongue, Signs of the Swarm, and Gutrectomy. Now in their "third chapter," Suffer UK is primed for their biggest year yet.

Following the addition of vocalist Greg Hevican and guitarist Klaudiusz Trzebuniak, the band signed with DC Sound Attack for all bookings and hit the ground running with a series of successful live shows. The EP's debut single, "Pendulum of Vengeance," exploded onto the scene on 13th March 2026, amassing over 20,000 streams across all platforms. SUFFER UK - PENDULUM OF VENGEANCE [OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO] (2026) SW EXCLUSIVE

Soul From Flesh, Track-by-Track Breakdown

Pendulum of Vengeance is a crushing exploration of the human obsession with revenge. The track dives into the psychological cycle of retaliation, symbolised by a swinging pendulum that guarantees a continuous loop of vengeance before peaceful resolution is ever considered.

Self Immolation is raw, aggressive, and macabre, this track uses the metaphorical purging of one's own skin to express an obsessive need to transcend to a higher state of being. It continues the EP's core theme of transitioning from one stage of life to another.

Soul From Flesh is the title track and second single. It tackles the heavy themes of abandonment, anxiety, and imposter syndrome. Influenced by real-life events, it is an anthem for those who understand that fresh starts require ultimate sacrifices.

Desolated Dreams serves as the EP's closing statement, this deeply personal track blends black metal influences with deathcore. It explores regression, disconnection, and the realization of how the relentless pursuit of achievement can cloud reality, turning dreams into nightmares.

The EP features music entirely written and composed by Suffer UK, with vocal-driven, hard-hitting lyrics penned by frontman Greg Hevican and drummer Jack Kent. Bringing the sonic devastation to life, Anthony Wall of Firestorm Studios handled the initial recording and mixing, while Will Cattanach at Freewill Productions took charge of tone creation, final mixing, and mastering. The release is visually completed by the brutal, striking artwork of Blindsight Visions.

BAKKEN RELEASE "CONSENT TO DECEPTION"

PRESS RELEASE:

Ireland heavy metal outfit Bakken return in full force with their long-awaited third studio album, Consent To Deception, officially out now.

Formed in 2011, Bakken have built their name the old-school way, grinding it out DIY, playing loud, and letting the music do the talking. Their breakout debut Death of a Hero (2012) put them on the map, followed by the hard-hitting This Means War in 2020, cementing a loyal global following drawn to their high-energy, politically charged brand of thrashy power metal.

Now in 2026, the band deliver what they call their most ambitious and unfiltered record yet.

Blending the precision of classic heavy metal with the speed and bite of thrash metal and the soaring melodies of power metal, Bakken continue carving their own lane. Fans of Judas Priest, Metallica, and Helloween will feel right at home, but don’t expect a copy-paste job. This is sharper, louder, and more personal.

Band Statement

“It took six years, 1000s of recording tracks, a very patient producer, huge amounts of work, masses of unnecessary drama, we’re barely alive, our partners are barely talking to us, but we think we’ve managed to create a genre-less heavy metal masterpiece. (But that could just be the fatigue talking)”

About the Band

Bakken describe themselves as thrashy-power metal with a mission, combining relentless energy with politically charged lyrics focused on positivity, peace, and respect for all living things. Or in their own words, “grab a beer and celebrate the glory of heavy metal with us.”

The buzz surrounding Legacies of Cybernetica has been amplified by its recent feature on Banger TV's Metal Monthly, where host Blaine Smith praised the album as one of July's standout metal releases. He highlighted the band's artistic growth, noting, "a big upgrade to the cover art and a big upgrade to the band," and recognized Frolic for carving out a unique niche within the thrash landscape. - The Black Dahlia Murder

About Frolic:

Formed in the San Francisco Bay Area, Frolic exemplifies the innovative spirit of thrash metal's birthplace. Rather than just recreating the sounds of the 1980s, the band embraces evolution by combining technical death metal precision, progressive arrangements, and unforgettable melodic guitar work. Frontman and guitarist Edgar delivers a fierce vocal performance that channels the venomous edge of classic European thrash, while Lenny's dynamic twin-guitar attack ensures soaring solos and memorable hooks. The rhythm section, featuring Zak's technical bass lines and Elijah's powerful drumming, is engineered for maximum mosh pit destruction.

Produced by Ivan Garcia, Ben Bennett, and Andrew Peacock, Legacies of Cybernetica captures Frolic's explosive live energy and showcases a level of songwriting and musicianship that marks a significant step forward in their evolution. With critical acclaim already rolling in from respected outlets and a growing reputation throughout the Bay Area underground, Frolic is set to emerge as one of the most exciting names in the next generation of thrash metal.

INSCRIBED RELEASE NEW SINGLE: "STILL TIME PASSES"

PRESS RELEASE:

INSCRIBED Release Debut Album Upon the Twisted Throne Out Now via Awakening Records | New Single & Video “Still Time Passes” Out June 19, 2026

Pre-order:

CD: https://awakeningrecordscn.bigcartel.com/product/inscribed-upon-the-twisted-throne-cd

Digital: https://awakeningrecordscn.bandcamp.com/album/upon-the-twisted-throne

Miami, Florida death/thrash metal trio INSCRIBED have officially released their debut full-length album, Upon the Twisted Throne, available now via Awakening Records.

After years of underground development, relentless live performances, and a series of explosive singles, INSCRIBED finally deliver their most complete and devastating statement to date. Upon the Twisted Throne pushes the band’s progressive death/thrash identity into its most extreme and refined form yet, balancing technical precision, bass-driven aggression, and dark conceptual songwriting rooted in the spirit of classic Florida death metal.

Drawing influence from Atheist, Hellwitch, Sadus, Cynic, and Nocturnus, the band fuses old-school intensity with modern complexity, creating a sound that is both chaotic and meticulously structured. The result is a record that feels as dangerous as it is calculated.

The album was shaped through years of evolution, beginning with the band’s early formation in 2021 by bassist Evie Austin and drummer/vocalist Lucas Moore, later solidifying into its current lineup with guitarist Mario Alvarez. From their early demo work through their 2024 EP In Silent Oblivion, INSCRIBED have steadily sharpened their identity into something far more expansive and ambitious.

A defining trait of Upon the Twisted Throne is its bass-forward composition style, with Evie Austin’s rapid, intricate playing driving much of the album’s momentum alongside razor-edged guitar work and relentless percussion.

The band comments: “This album is the culmination of everything we’ve built since day one. It’s more technical, more emotional, and more extreme in every direction without losing the core identity of Inscribed.”

To celebrate the album release, INSCRIBED also unveil the new single and video “Still Time Passes,” a haunting and atmospheric standout track that explores existential horror through the concept of perceived eternal isolation. Built around crushing mid-paced tension and eerie philosophical undertones, the song adds a darker, more reflective dimension to the album’s otherwise high-velocity assault.

Upon the Twisted Throne features:

Evie Austin — Bass Guitar

Lucas Moore — Drums & Vocals

Mario Alvarez — Guitar

Additional lead guitar by Fernando Calero.

The album was engineered and mixed by Ferny Coipel at The Shack North, with guitar and bass recording handled by John Sample at Sathanas Studios. Mastering by Chris Barcia. Artwork by Stephanie D-Sorensen, with additional design contributions from Raphael Sanchez, Deborah Moore, Beatriz Freire, Gabriel Caggiano, and Arioch.

Upon the Twisted Throne is out now via Awakening Records.

New single and video “Still Time Passes” is available June 19, 2026.

For fans of Atheist, Hellwitch, Sadus, Cynic, Nocturnus.

SHORES OF NULL RELEASE "HOMESICK"

PRESS RELEASE:

Italian melodic death doom masters SHORES OF NULL return with their most ambitious and accomplished work to date. The band’s new album, “Homesick”, will be released on October 16, 2026 via Dusktone, marking another important milestone in the career of a group that has established itself as one of the most distinctive and respected names in the contemporary metal landscape.

The video of the first single "Bleed to Life" is now streaming HERE.

Following the acclaimed “The Loss Of Beauty”, SHORES OF NULL continue to expand their emotional and sonic universe with a record that combines their trademark melancholy with a renewed sense of identity and purpose. “Homesick” represents the band at their most mature, featuring ten songs where every composition carries its own unique character, supported by refined arrangements, streamlined structures and a wealth of subtle details waiting to reveal themselves over repeated listens.

The album features the best production in the history of SHORES OF NULL, giving the band’s music an unprecedented level of depth and impact. The clarity and power of the sound enhance the contrast at the core of their style: music that can be deeply melancholic and decadent, yet capable of delivering moments of energy, intensity and emotional elevation. “Homesick” is a testament to a band that has fully consolidated its position within the melodic death doom scene while continuing to evolve.

Frontman Davide Straccione comments: “Those who have followed Shores Of Null from the very beginning know that our influences touch many genres, but I think those who loved ‘The Loss Of Beauty’ won’t be disappointed. I think ‘Homesick’ brings something fresh to the band, without compromising our sound. So I truly hope it will be well received by those who already love Shores Of Null and by potentially new fans.”

Conceived as a complete listening experience rather than a simple collection of individual songs, “Homesick” moves through a wide range of emotional states: longing, loss, anger, vulnerability and the search for a place to belong. Each track offers its own identity and emotional weight, but the full picture only emerges when the album is experienced from beginning to end.

“I think 'Homesick' is meant to be experienced as a whole rather than as a collection of separate songs. It is a record that moves through different emotional states and explores feelings that are deeply personal but also universal,” explains Straccione. “We wanted it to feel immersive, with songs that can hit hard in the moment but also reveal more of themselves over repeated listens.”

The album’s lyrical themes revolve around nostalgia, absence and the many meanings attached to the concept of “home”. For Straccione, home is not simply a physical place, but something far more complex: a memory, a person, a wound, or even a version of ourselves that no longer exists.

“I’m fascinated by themes such as nostalgia, loss, belonging, and the ways in which the past continues to shape who we are. Sometimes inspiration simply comes from observing the world around me. Other times it starts with a question I can’t answer, and writing becomes a way to explore it. With ‘Homesick’, I found myself reflecting on the idea of ‘home’ as something much deeper than a place. Many of the lyrics revolve around that tension between longing and pain, between the desire to return and the fear of what might still be waiting for us there.”

The ten songs featured on “Homesick” were selected from a wider pool of ideas developed during the writing process. SHORES OF NULL allowed the material to evolve naturally, reshaping and reworking songs whenever necessary in order to create the strongest and most cohesive album possible. Producer Marco “Cinghio” Mastrobuono played a crucial role in pushing the band’s vision further, guiding the pre-production process and helping refine every detail.

“For both this album and our previous split, ‘Latitudes Of Sorrow’, we made a conscious decision to devote more time to pre-production with Marco ‘Cinghio’ Mastrobuono. Having someone involved who knows our sound so deeply gave us a valuable outside perspective and led to ideas, details and solutions we might not have reached on our own.”

Recorded at Bloom Recording Studios after an extensive pre-production phase, “Homesick” also features two special guest appearances: Natalie Koskinen of Shape Of Despair on “The Numbing Void”, and Shaun MacGowan of My Dying Bride, whose violin can be heard on “Dreaming Of A Scar” and “The Numbing Void”.

The vinyl edition will include a short intro created specifically for the format, designed to enhance the Side A / Side B listening experience without altering the essence of the album.

With “Homesick”, SHORES OF NULL deliver one of the strongest statements of their career: a deeply emotional, carefully crafted and immersive record that confirms their place among the leading forces of melodic death doom.

MANGLED CARPENTER RELEASE "BETWEEN BLOOD AND SILENCE"

PRESS RELEASE:

MANGLED CARPENTER – BETWEEN BLOOD AND SILENCE EP

LABEL: ROTTWEILER RECORDS & BROKEN CURFEW RECORDS

RELEASE DATE: JULY 17th 2026

In chaos, flame, and slaughter, only madness and devils seemed near. In that cold, grey place of dying, where hope had never spoken a word of comfort, there was every reason to believe the end would come in complete isolation. But knee-deep in gore and sin, in the violence of desperate savagery and the damp loneliness of fear, between the axe and the darkness, between blood and silence, there was still a voice that spoke.

Mangled Carpenter returns with their new EP Between Blood And Silence, the follow-up to their 2023 album Salvation Syndrome. Led by Seth Metoyer, alongside Kris Olson and Mac Hine, the band continues to build on a foundation of death metal and grindcore while pushing further into darker, more deliberate territory, shaped by atmosphere, groove and a subtle mechanized edge.

Metoyer’s work across multiple projects gives that evolution added context. From the unpredictable grindcore of Pulpit Vomit to the more melodic direction of his solo material, his writing has never remained boxed into one expression of heavy music. Under the Mangled Carpenter banner, that broader creative reach is sharpened into something far more punishing, where structure, pacing, and darkness carry as much weight as sheer force.

The band’s last release, Salvation Syndrome, drew praise for its intensity and character, with Metal Temple describing it as “a strong personality and a massive tsunami of energy.” Between Blood And Silence builds on that foundation with six tracks that explore judgment, violence, spiritual struggle, and the search for hope in places marked by desolation and darkness.

The title track opens the EP with a dense, methodical attack, pairing controlled aggression with a mechanized fury. ‘Carved’ follows with a slower, groove-driven weight, using space and restraint to make each blow land harder. First single ‘The Absence Of Light’ pushes back into a more direct assault, blending abrasive textures with blasting intensity and carrying the EP forward with force and precision.

‘Down, Down, To Goblin Town’ stands as one of the release’s defining moments, combining grinding power with a memorable structure and a vocal performance that is both sharply delivered and unrelenting. The EP also includes a cover of Mortification’s ‘Terminate Damnation’, reworking the classic track through Mangled Carpenter’s harsher, more contemporary lens. It closes with ‘Short, Sharp, Shock’, a concise and punishing finish that leaves no room for drift or excess.

Between Blood And Silence will be released by Broken Curfew Records and Rottweiler Records in partnership, bringing Mangled Carpenter’s latest statement to a wide audience across the metal scene. Crushingly heavy, darkly atmospheric and unflinching in its purpose, the EP shows the band continuing to refine their identity without losing any of their force.

Line-up:

Seth Metoyer – Guitar/Vocals/Programming

Kris Olson – Bass/Backing vocals

Mac Hine – Drum programming

BOCC RELEASE "DEMOLARIUM"

PRESS RELEASE:

Barcelona-based death-doom outfit BOCC are set to unleash their second full-length album, “Demolarium”, on September 11, 2026 via Night Terrors Records.

The title-track is now streaming HERE.

Formed in 2019 in Catalonia, BOCC have carved their own path through the underground with a crushing and uncompromising blend of death metal, funeral doom weight, sludge hostility and crust punk aggression. Their sound captures the raw spirit of extreme music at its most authentic: bleak, filthy and deeply rooted in the traditions of the underground.

“Demolarium” is a record built on density and decay, where the suffocating slow-motion devastation of death-doom collides with the rough edges and confrontational energy of punk. A harsh and visceral journey that carries the feeling of a live rehearsal room rather than a polished studio product - a testament to the band’s commitment to keeping their music direct, heavy and real.

BOCC’s lyrics, entirely written and performed in Catalan, move away from conventional extreme metal themes, drawing instead from the history, folklore, myths and macabre events of Catalonia and Barcelona. Their music reflects a deep connection with their roots, while also standing firmly within the anti-fascist movement that has shaped their identity since the beginning.

For fans of Coffins, Grief, Autopsy, Winter, Fistula, Cianide and Eyehategod, “Demolarium” delivers a bleak and punishing vision where death metal brutality meets the hopeless weight of doom and the raw spirit of crust.

Night Terrors Records will release the album on colored and black vinyl editions, accompanied by a limited edition fanzine entirely dedicated to BOCC, continuing the label’s tradition of celebrating the artists beyond the music itself.

BOCC will also bring their crushing live assault to CastellHell Reborns in Spain in October 2026, sharing the stage with acts including Dead Congregation, Galvanizer, Benighted and Cerebral Curse.

Tracklist:

1. Demolarium

2. Estigma

3. Escorxador

4. 4227

5. Calvari (Dels Condemnats)

6. Ànima D’Acer

EMBERS OF DAWN RELEASE NEW SINGLE: "INFERNAL"

PRESS RELEASE:

EMBERS OF DAWN explore themes of inner conflict, damnation, and the search for identity in the new single release, "Infernal". This offering features guest musician Adrian Erlandsson (AT THE GATES, CRADLE OF FILTH, PARADISE LOST, THE HAUNTED) on drums. Alongside the track, EMBERS OF DAWN have launched the pre-order for their forthcoming full length album Infernal Culture, scheduled to arrive on September 18, 2026.

On the single's narrative guitarist Cliff Ross shares, “Its essentially about a young woman who is discontent with life (boredom, depression, etc.) and prays for some type of spiritual companionship to make her feel more 'fulfilled' in some way. As she puts out this 'open call' for spiritual companionship a demon jumps on the opportunity and possesses her. Things decline from there.”

Infernal Culture's core themes of powerlessness and a sense of loss are revealed in "Infernal". Situated firmly in industrial metal, characteristics from ROB ZOMBIE, MINISTRY and STATIC-X are prevalent across the track. The key components of "Infernal" are “evil disco” beats, heavy, and layered guitars that manifest a dark, forceful mood. The result is a fiery and intense fusion of industrial metal and electronic music.

Pre-order Infernal Culture here: https://embersofdawn.bandcamp.com/album/infernal-culture

About EMBERS OF DAWN:

Formed in 2022, EMBERS OF DAWN is a genre-defying metal project born out of Jacksonville, Florida and Santa Barbara, California. The band blends elements of industrial, gothic, melodic death metal, and cyber-metal to create a sound that is both cinematic and punishing. Known for their thematic focus on alienation, modern decay, and emotional detachment, EMBERS OF DAWN delivers music that is as introspective as it is aggressive.

The band’s music features cold, mechanical precision layered with dark melodic textures, drawing influence from acts like PAIN, DARK TRANQUILLITY, MINISTRY, FEAR FACTORY, RAMMSTEIN, STATIC-X, ROB ZOMBIE, ARCH ENEMY, and TYPE O NEGATIVE. With each release, they continue to explore new sonic territory, balancing technicality with atmosphere, brutality with beauty.

Their upcoming debut album Infernal Culture features drums by ADRIAN ERLANDSSON (AT THE GATES, CRADLE OF FILTH, PARADISE LOST, THE HAUNTED), adding an explosive edge to their already dynamic sound.

FORGOTTEN SHRINE RELEASE NEW SINGLE: "DEARLY DEPARTED"

PRESS RELEASE:

Folk metal duo FORGOTTEN SHRINE are preparing to unveil their forthcoming concept album Nox Aeterna. The narrative centers around two guardians who protect an ancient shrine dedicated to art, creativity, and freedom. It is inspired by the need to keep one’s childlike sense of wonder alive; as the darkness dampens the peoples' spirits, the shrine begins to lose its power. Nox Aeterna is scheduled to arrive on November 6, 2026, the new single "Dearly Departed" is released today.

In "Dearly Departed", the lyrics explore the journey of newfound power. Following this discovery, the protagonist chooses to utilize their abilities to inflict revenge on those who have wronged them. The song reveals the wider themes of the album as individuals begin to fall victim to the darkness and advance the destruction of their world instead of preserving it.

"My vocal performance was strongly inspired by 'The Violation' by Fleshgod Apocalypse, relying predominantly on cavernous, mournful, death metal-inspired harsh vocals as opposed to black metal highs." Shares Sofia Frasz. "Josh took the demo I sent and reworked it into the final version, adding a ton of detail and instrumental flourishes that bring the song to life beautifully."

"'Dearly Departed' is a more emotionally charged and dark song than what we are used to, which after the release of our song 'Halo' will come as a relief to our more heavy/symphonic metal fans". Josh Alexander adds. "It's structurally frantic, each section building on the last until it can't anymore, and rounds itself off with quite possibly the prettiest piece of music on the album in the piano outro. Sofia demoed out the entire song first, and the thing I built upon the most was the piano, which makes for a great juxtaposition to the black metal inspired guitars. I think the power of a song like this is that the listener can interject their own experience of heartbreak and resentment, ultimately culminating in a 'let the past die' moment at the end which is communicated in the strained softness of the outro."

"Dearly Departed" follows the previously released original singles, "Halo" (2026), "Terror! At The Ballroom" (2025), "Where Shadows Lie" (2024) , "Hero" (2024) and "The Parting Glass" (2024), along with their recent enchanting take on BREAKING BENJAMIN's "Crawl" (2026).

Nox Aeterna was produced, mixed and mastered by Joshua Dalviken. The album artwork was created by Josh Alexander and Joshua Dalviken, with the cover art for "Dearly Departed" created by Josh Alexander and Tricia Alexander.

GOATEST (GOATBURNER + TEST) RELEASE "GOATEST"

PRESS RELEASE:

Finnish grindcore duo GOATBURNER have joined forces with Brazilian experimental grindcore outfit TEST to create GOATEST, a new collaborative project set to release its self-titled debut album through Time To Kill Records on September 23rd 2026.

The first single "Unseen Powers" is available now:

Video: https://youtu.be/6FiVVkFUfTA

Streaming: https://ffm.to/goatest-unseen-powers

Bringing together musicians deeply rooted in the international extreme music underground, GOATEST features Keijo “Kaos” Niinimaa, also known as the vocalist of Finnish grindcore veterans ROTTEN SOUND, and Jaakko “Spider” Forsman of RATFACE, alongside Thiago “Barata” and João Kombi of Brazilian grindcore unit TEST.

The collaboration mixes different backgrounds and approaches to extreme music in a concentrated burst of grindcore and sludge intensity, raw energy and uncompromising attitude, connecting the Finnish and Brazilian underground scenes through a shared instinct for restlessness, aggression and sonic extremity.

“GoaTesT” features fourteen tracks that span different shades of extreme metal, bringing together the distinct identities and musical backgrounds of its members. While much of the material is short, direct and fiercely executed, capturing the spontaneous energy of the collaboration, the album also ventures into more expansive and experimental territory. Slower-paced passages, unconventional textures and moments of controlled tension create a compelling ebb and flow, adding depth and unpredictability without ever diluting the record's raw grindcore intensity.

Following the release, GOATEST will hit the road across Europe as part of the “Campaign For Musical Destruction Tour 2026”, joining grindcore legends Napalm Death alongside Master, Brat and Delinquentes for an extensive run of dates throughout November and December.

LENAX RELEASE NEW SINGLE: "ASCENSION OF THE BLOOD MAGIC"

Originally recorded in 2024 (drums and guitars) with new vocals, bass, and guitar solo in 2026, "Ascension of the Blood Mage," is an anticosmic expansion of the mage-soul by way of connection to the Outer Gods, a DNA link to the primordial forces, awakened by way of personal gnosis.

Released in 2025, Infection was Lenax's first full-length album. Infection (Expanded Edition) arrived one year later in June 2026.

Lenax are currently writing their second full-length album, Nexus, a 13-track epic journey which will see a continued evolution of their sound and mythology.

For fans of Watain, Immortal, and Enslaved, Lenax presents a style of melodic black metal infused with just the right amount of black n roll to land themselves in a rather unique position within the genre.

With lyrical themes based around esotericism, individuality, and cosmic horror, Infection paints either a picture of destruction and horror, or one of death and rebirth, depending on the stance of the listener. Does one succumb to a future of mindlessness in a hive mind apocalypse, or do they break free from the chains that bind us to the material world? Would you meet the dark man at the crossroads to sell your soul, and are you prepared to offer up payment when he comes to call? In all, this is a solid 40 minutes of modern black metal with enough DNA to show the band's roots in the early second wave, while managing to craft something unique in their delivery.

BIO:

Lenax are a Nashville-based melodic black metal band that first emerged in November 2022 as the brainchild of guitarist and vocalist Venomous. The project evolved from a solo act into a full-fledged band known by a growing fanbase for their distinct blend of aggressive old-school black metal with esoteric and symphonic elements.

Drawing inspiration from a wide array of black metal bands from established titans to the obscure, the "Big Four" of thrash metal, and even a dash of classic heavy acts like Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, Lenax’s signature sound pays homage to their influences while establishing them as pioneers of something new altogether dubbed by Venomous as "cosmic horror fueled nightmares.” — an immersive sonic rumination on rebellion against religion, revenge, and self-realization through occult technology, with a distinct nod to Lovecraftian lore and the impending doom of the Outer Gods.

Since releasing their debut EP Purity in October 2023, Lenax has garnered praise from both domestic and international press, with Rock Hard and Metalized featuring the band and The Metalverse lauding their ability to blend melody with black metal's raw power.

The band released Hellscape Vol (The Voices) in 2024, followed by Infection in 2025.

ANNIHILUS MUNDI RELEASE "THE DEAD SEA SCROLLS"

PRESS RELEASE:

Annihilus Mundi

The Dead Sea Scrolls

Independent

6 November 2026

Genre-fusing progressive project ANNIHILUS MUNDI is preparing to unleash the forthcoming sophomore full-length The Dead Sea Scrolls on November 6, 2026. The 77-minute long concept album explores the personal lived experiences of composer and lyricist Daniel Saillant. In a fusion of genres and artforms, ANNIHILUS MUNDI reconceptualizes the album's central ideas through Hideaki Anno’s notorious 1995 anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion and its subsequent 1997 film The End of Evangelion.

The sound of cicadas introduces "Second Impact (Overture)". Mirroring a soundscape familiar to fans of anime and Evangelion in particular, the core instrumental motifs found across the album subsequently emerge. It is a display of complex and textural layers including metal instruments, full orchestra, harpsichord, piano and electronics - elements that are central to ANNIHILUS MUNDI's characteristic sound. Narratively, the song covers the 'Second Impact', a cataclysm caused by the interactions of scientists from an expedition into Antarctica with a primordial being called Adam, the First Angel, along with the death of Gendo’s wife and Shinji’s mother, Yui Ikari.

"Absolute Terror" captures ANNIHILUS MUNDI's core sonic identity while pushing deeper into the band’s progressive roots. Featuring fierce vocals by Noah Magnelli and guitar solo performance by Chris Jones of (ÆTHER REALM), the track's chaotic death metal riffing and an expansive melodic atmosphere is dynamic yet accessible. It draws inspiration from the metaphysical Absolute Terror Field (AT Field) concept from Neon Genesis Evangelion.

"A Hedgehog’s Dilemma" takes its name from the metaphor coined by German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer and shares the title with an episode of Neon Genesis Evangelion. "A Hedgehog’s Dilemma" is centered around the protagonist from Neon Genesis Evangelion, Shinji, and the impacts of his social masking that is used as a defensive mechanism. Across the track, ferocious death metal rhythms contrast against the uplifting melodies in the orchestral arrangements and vocal lines.

"The Dead Sea Scrolls, Mvt. I - 'Reminiscence'" and the following "Mvt. II" combine to form an epic 13-minute opus with this first offering exploring Saillant's personal experiences with social anxiety. This track draws on the characters of the anime and the harm caused by repressed trauma, such as to Gendo’s unwillingness to process the death of his wife. Notably, the music includes a melody and verse that manifest in multiple tracks over The Dead Sea Scrolls.

Featuring a guitar solo by Andrew Matarazzo (PERENNIAL QUEST), "The Dead Sea Scrolls, Mvt. II - 'Incursion'" opens with a serene, somber mood led by clean tones and melodies before erupting into intense heavy instrumentation. Drawing inspiration from the Katsuragi expedition, the song describes a society who has constructed their goals based on face-value interpretations of the words of ancient civilizations, leading to their mutual destruction.

With "Black Moon", the goal of this song is to explore the religious imagery found throughout Evangelion which generally has very few themes explicitly related to faith. Musically, it deviates from progressive realms to deliver a shorter piece situated firmly in death metal. The track's chorus features Olive Gallop (ICE GIANT) and is designed to be chanted by a crowd, and contains a fun two-step friendly hook. "Black Moon" also features a guitar solo by Chris Ramusiewicz (GRAVEBORN).

A discordant combination of dial-up modem tones, folk melodies and mournful vocal performances by Saillant and Magnelli form an uncanny soundscape in "King of Thorns". Journeying through the track melancholic guitar leads segue into progressive, jazz-led realms in a chaotic yet dreamy fusion of styles before concluding with heavy chugs. "King of Thorns" reflects Saillant's anxieties for the future amidst the global uncertainty experienced in April 2020.

"Terminal Dogma, Mvt. I - 'Do you love me?'", the first of an 18-minute offering divided into four songs, emerges with woodwind accompaniment to bright guitar melodies. A dark mood prevails across the intricate textural arrangements, with the song's pre-chorus building with a sense of urgency. "Mvt. I" culminates into an explosive display of thunderous rhythms and intense vocals. This song follows the sequence of events in The End of Evangelion that eventually lead to the death of Asuka Langley Soryu, Shinji’s friend and romantic interest.

Blasting into "Terminal Dogma, Mvt. II - 'Take care of yourself'", the second part builds on the momentum of "Mvt. I" bringing a heightened power and fierce aggression channeled through Noah Magnelli's monstrous gutturals and unrelenting abrasive instrumental layers. The track features Sarah Hartman of AVERSED and is positioned from the perspective of Asuka’s as she takes on the Mass Production Series Evas. An insight into Asuka’s psyche is revealed showing the repression of her trauma and refusal to process it.

Ethereal orchestral strings seep through the shadows of "Mvt. II", leading into "Terminal Dogma, Mvt. III - 'Love is destructive'". This song is an arrangement of the 1899 orchestral composition titled "Enigma Variations IX. Nimrod", by English composer Edward Elgar. This song is a tribute to several sequences from Evangelion, including Asuka’s torture at the hands of the Angel Arael in Episode 22 of Neon Genesis Evangelion, the clip show style of Episodes 25 and 26 of the original show, and Shinji’s Third Impact sequence in End of Evangelion. It is designed to simulate the feeling of self-depreciation and anxieties of what other people really think of you.

In the final instalment, "Terminal Dogma, Mvt. IV - 'I need you'" descends into a ferocious onslaught of dissonance, Magnelli's gritty harsh vocals and dominating rhythms. In the track's breakdown, obliterating gutturals unleash a decimating impact before returning to a soaring and anthemic final chorus. It concludes Asuka’s storyline as she finally succumbs to the Mass Productions Evas and dies. In a deviation from the source material, Asuka is forced to truly confront her trauma relating to her mother’s suicide and her decision to die peacefully. "Mvt. IV" ends with a reprise of the main riff from "Mvt.I - 'Do you love me?'" but in a different key, symbolizing the full circle nature of mental illness like Asuka’s and Shinji’s.

In "Silent Planet", wave of white noise groans into life as vocals become audible through the wall of sound. Contrapuntal layers of contrasting melodies and textures rise and fall, as if reaching out from the void. Lyrically, "Silent Planet" is a reprise of The Dead Sea Scrolls, Mvt.I - “Reminiscence.” In this version of the refrain, there is basically no melody. Continuing the album's narrative, Shinji explores the idea that people can grow beyond the mistakes they’ve made in life but is saddened that this concept has been denied to him in life.

The Dead Sea Scrolls conclude with "Human Instrumentality". The untamable force of the instrumentation brings forth a fury of aggression. ANNIHILUS MUNDI's distinctive vocal harmonies and uplifting progressions disrupt the heaviness momentarily, before an epic collation of these styles is reached. Comprised of three parts, this composition explores how religious propaganda has been used by ruling classes throughout history to incite fear and control the general populace. Part one, "Mother Machine", is primarily a criticism of organized religion’s weaponization of religious texts by those in positions of power to harm marginalized groups. The second part titled "Superior Species" is situated in the aftermath of centuries of religious indoctrination from the perspective of a member of the billionaire class who now has to deal with the consequences. Finally, "Human Instrumentality", imagines a world where there is no longer a fear-based or class-based divide between people.

The Dead Sea Scrolls was produced, mixed and mastered, and engineered by Daniel Saillant at Wailing Pines Productions.

LACONIST RELEASE "WHERE BEING ENDS, I BEGIN"

PRESS RELEASE:

LACONIST RETURNS FROM A DECADE-LONG HIATUS WITH BRUTAL DEATH METAL EP "WHERE BEING ENDS, I BEGIN"

EP Link: https://ditto.fm/where-being-ends-i-begin

Brazilian Death Metal Veterans Unleash Three Tracks of Crushing Extremity on July 17, 2026

Genre: Brutal Death Metal

For Fans Of: Hate Eternal, Morbid Angel, Krisiun

After a ten-year absence from the scene, Brazilian brutal death metal force Laconist returns with their devastating new EP, Where Being Ends, I Begin , arriving July 17, 2026. The release marks a powerful new chapter for a band built on the foundation of uncompromising aggression, technical precision, and a deep respect for the extreme metal pioneers that shaped their sound.

Founded in 2007 by A. Neil, Laconist was created with the mission of honoring influential acts such as Angelcorpse, Centurian, and Hate Eternal while forging their own path within the brutal death metal underground. During their early years, the band released two full-length albums, one demo, and one EP before entering a decade-long hiatus in 2016.

Now, Laconist has returned with a renewed lineup and a sharpened vision. A. Neil remains the sole original member, joined by Zé Misanthrope, who has helped redefine and expand the band's legacy within the brutal death metal scene. To capture the intensity and power required for this comeback, the band enlisted Felipe Veiga as a session drummer to perform all drum parts on the new recording.

Recorded between October 2025 and April 2026, Where Being Ends, I Begin delivers three relentless tracks of savage riffs, crushing rhythms, and extreme vocal brutality. The EP was mixed by Zé Misanthrope and mastered by Cássio Zambotto, ensuring a massive and punishing production that matches the band's return after ten years away.

Adding even more firepower to the release, the track "Vermiforming" features a special guest vocal appearance by Kyle Ball of Lysergic and former member of Wake and Kataplexis, bringing another layer of intensity to an already devastating offering.

"After a 10-year hiatus, Laconist returns to the battlefield with a new chapter of Brazilian death metal brutality. Where Being Ends, I Begin represents the rebirth of the band and the continuation of a legacy built on extreme music."

Currently unsigned, Laconist is also working on their next full-length album and is seeking a label partner interested in helping bring their next evolution of brutality to a wider audience.

Where Being Ends, I Begin will be available on all major digital platforms on July 17, 2026 .

CASTLE RELEASE "CARRIE CHAINS"

PRESS RELEASE:

Castle

Carrie Chains

Hammerheart Records

4 September 2026

From an overgrown fortress, high above the cliffs of black, the spellcasters of Doom are back with “Carrie Chains” their seventh album and second for Hammerheart Records. Raw, epic riff Heavy/Doom abounds on Castle’s catchy-as-hell “Carrie Chains”.

Castle conjures an epic and hard hitting album of eight taut spellbinders. A journey through a maze of evil doers, spears of burning gold and fire and crosses nailed to walls. Where only a murky lamp lights the path, and from the grave to your door - these hooks won’t leave you alone.

“Carrie Chains” shows Castle at new heights of constructing their trademark serpentine riffs into powerful anthemic hooks while the whiskey throated vocals of powerhouse singer Liz Blackwell fill every spooky nook and cranny to intoxicating effect. Taking influence from the 70’s/80’s riff-heavy maestros like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Mercyful Fate and keeping a stripped down attack sound, Castle converged on RainCity Recorders in Vancouver B.C. this past March with producer Jesse Gander to record the albums epic anthems.

Written last year alongside the band’s all-covers E.P. “Double Vision”, and after more than a year of touring behind their last album “Evil Remains” - inspiration for “Carrie Chains” came fast and furious. Following the energy of the new songs through the recording process, Castle recorded live in the studio for the first time - with the band’s recording drummer Mike Cotton laying down a thunderous precision that harkens back to 80’s era Black Sabbath.

Since storming out of San Francisco with their 2011 debut “In Witch Order” Castle has toured relentlessly, playing over 800 shows on three continents. The live ritual resumes this fall with tours of the US and Japan; and Europe to follow next spring.

Line up:

Liz Blackwell - Bass, vocals

Formed in early 2024, MAUT is an Indonesian death metal band consisting of Agung (vocals), Arief (drums), Riyo (bass), and Irriszka (guitars). What began as a side project born from a shared passion for extreme music quickly evolved into a serious creative force dedicated to delivering uncompromising death metal with meaningful lyrical themes.

MAUT introduced themselves through the release of two debut singles, "Venomous Dominion" and "Mass Produced Salvation," establishing a sound rooted in relentless riffing, crushing rhythms, and intense brutality while addressing the darker realities of modern civilization. After nearly a year of songwriting, arranging, and refining their material, MAUT completed their debut full-length album, EXTINCTION.

EXTINCTION is a concept album that confronts humanity's self-inflicted collapse. It explores the devastating consequences of greed, exploitation, and the relentless pursuit of power that continue to push the world toward irreversible destruction. Drawing inspiration from real events occurring across Indonesia and around the globe, the album addresses environmental devastation, deforestation, species extinction, poverty, modern slavery, war, genocide, and the systematic destruction of both humanity and nature. Each song represents another chapter in the downfall of civilization, exposing the violence and corruption hidden beneath the illusion of progress.

Rather than offering false hope, EXTINCTION forces listeners to confront uncomfortable truths. Through crushing death metal and uncompromising lyrics, MAUT presents a bleak reflection of the modern world while asking one final question: How much time remains before everything disappears?

The album's lyrics were written by Priyanka Agung, whose writing combines social criticism, environmental concerns, and human tragedy into a dark and powerful narrative.

The cover artwork was created by Makami_SDT, visually translating the album's themes of extinction, decay, and global collapse into a haunting piece of art. Instrument tracking took place at Kawitan Records Lab, with Irriszka serving as the recording engineer and handling the complete mixing process. Vocal recording and mastering were completed at Incun Studio, resulting in a massive, aggressive, and dynamic production while preserving the raw intensity essential to death metal.

With EXTINCTION, MAUT delivers more than just another death metal record. It is a statement of anger, awareness, and resistance against a world consumed by greed and destruction—a soundtrack to humanity's slow march toward extinction.
