Finland's KHANUS introduced themselves to the metal audience in 2016 with the “Rites Of Fire” EP, a piece of shamanic metal of death perfectly underlining the ritualistic feel and the spiritual qualities of their music. Two years later, the band is back with its first full-length album, “Flammarion”, a monumental achievement that confirms the uniqueness of their proposal.
KHANUS' music oscillates between trance-inducing melodies almost bordering on hypnotic psychedelia and the primitive pulse of black/death metal, all seen through a distorting avant-garde lens that exalts the weirdness of the style without sacrificing brutality and aggressiveness. Together with LordT's powerful drumming, Sovereign's theatrical growls and nervous guitar playing incarnate the primordial side of KHANUS, while Meltiis' majestic soprano choirs play a more spiritual chord, adding a distinctive touch to the music, always incredibly dense and richly textured.

Five years after the impressive debut of “Incendiary Serum”, Denmark's PHANTOM have once more unearthed themselves from shallow graves to unleash their particular blend of death-worshipping paranormal black metal on the world. “Death Epic” is the lamenting of carcasses brought back to life, writhing in their own blood while moaning for death to claim them once more.
PHANTOM's black metal is sharp yet very melodic, perfectly balanced between pernicious mid-tempos and aggressive accelerations, with conspicuous injections of keyboards, clean vocals and guitar solos that concur to the grandiose, mournful and gothic atmospheres wrapping each song up in a black shroud.
Lyrically, the band crafts bloody tales of vengeful, malign spirits tormenting the living; so much that the album ends up looking like a little book of horrors in audial form, where choirs of unholy ghosts manifest themselves to sing and praise the disgusting yet fascinating magnificence of post-mortem existence and of her seductive Queen, beautifully rendered in Carl Bloch's drawing adorning the album cover. Construct of Lethe is a band born of evolution.

2018 will see the release of their 2nd album "Exiler", their most dynamic and varied release to date. Rooted in solid, thought out death metal, the songwriting delves into black metal, doom, the avant garde and back without becoming a slavish regurgitation of influences, it is calculated and determined, showing a band reaching beyond tired genre cliches. Recorded at Trepan Studios, the album sounds simultaneously organic and modern, fitting the material like a glove.

Eight years into their existence, Oakland CA’s dark doom destroyers ABSTRACTER return with their third full-length album, “Cinereous Incarnate”, essentially their own soundtrack to the end of all that is. Unraveling a blood-curdling sonic ordeal about a nightmarish dimension cursed to eternal twilight, where reality is torn to pieces and existence is reduced to the final stages of survival, ABSTRACTER describe a world in which the lines between life and hell have been vaporized as existence sinks into a tormented shadowzone obscured by falling ash and nuclear fallout.
Through a suffocating deluge of colossal riffs and dismal atmospheres that defy any clear categorization, ABSTRACTER’s hallucinated and apocalyptic music oozes with an immanent and oppressive sense of defeat and of unravelling hope, fusing together crust, black, doom, death metal, and cancerous strains of noise, drone, and dark ambient. “Cinereous Incarnate” is a catastrophic album, an oppressively apocalyptic and hallucinatory listen. At the core of the earth-shaking sonic annihilation of the music lies a vast and intelligible plethora of influences ranging from Blut Aus Nord, Dystopia, Swans, Disembowelment, to Sutekh Hexen, and Celtic Frost. ABSTRACTER have coerced them together and collapsed on top of each other to erect an obsidian black wall of monstrous sound that levitates out of solid darkness. It crushes and devours everything in its path, and conjures the same nightmarish and antihuman atmospheres of bands like Dragged Into Sunlight, Indian, Primitive Man, Krypts, Coffinworm, and Triptykon.
Recorded and mixed by Greg Wilkinson at Earhammer Studios (Vastum, Undergang, Acephalix, Autopsy) in Oakland CA, and mastered at Audiosiege in Portland OR by Brad Boatright (Nails, Wolfbrigade, Full of Hell, Vallenfyre), “Cinereous Incarnate” comes with an appallingly dense, layered, and oppressive production, and features haunting dark ambient soundscapes and noise contributions by Sutekh Hexen’s own visual/noise luminary Kevin Gan Yuen (who also curated the album’s apocalyptic art) and by San Francisco-based dark industrial musician Only Now - an unholy alliance which has yielded a sonic behemoth unlike anything else with an absolutely annihilating and otherworldly sound.
A monumental achievement in extreme doom, ABSTRACTER’s “Cinereus Incarnate” is a work which unifies every concept of sonic oppression imaginable and which is set to be one of the most helplessly darkening and soul-crushing albums released this year in the realm of fringe strains of doom, death, black, drone metal, crust, and beyond.

One year after the release of the "Seal Of Phobos" EP, the Italian combo Valgrind return with their Old School Death Metal formula full of ripping riffs, harsh vocals and tons of memorable solos for their third full length "Blackest Horizon."
Valgrind was born from the ashes of the ultra-underground act Necrospell in 1993 as a Death-Black project with both extreme and melodic influences. During the following years the band released four demos and developed its own style, combining the main influences (early florida Death Metal) with a strong sense of melody and a passion for the dark atmospheres of bands like Candlemass and early Paradise lost. Valgrind disbanded in 2003, but the strong will to return on stage of both founding member and main songwriter Massimiliano Elia and vocalist Daniele Lupidi (also frontman of Hateful) made the return possible in 2008. 2012 was the year of their debut album "Morning Will Come No More", almost one hour of classic Death Metal, filled with killer solos, memorable riffs and obscure vocals.
With a renewed line-up (featuring Gianmarco Agosti from the italian hardcore legend Raw Power) Valgrind performed at many important shows in Italy, Germany, Holland and Sweden. In 2013 the band started working on the new album, entitled "Speech of the Flame", a very aggressive, yet diverse and dynamic collection of songs. The music strays away from the early influences to become more personal, while the lyrical concept deals with the darkest sides of the ancient mediterranean civilities.
in 2016, Umberto Poncina (ex-member of Unbirth/Demiurgon/Saturno) replaced Massimo Vezzani and contributed to the realization of the EP "Seal Of Phobos" that was released in 2018 for Everlasting Spew Records as a sort of appetizer for "Blackest Horizon."

I, Voidhanger Records proudly attends the birth of PANEGYRIST, a mysterious entity sure to take the avant-garde black metal scene by storm. Hailing from USA, PANEGYRIST's debut full-length “Hierurgy” – meaning "ritual" or, literally, "holy work" – is an expression of burning religious impulse. This collection of meditations explores the theme of theosis, the process whereby the individual is transformed and united with God through the operations of the divine energies. “This unification is not a dissolution of self into a generic 'divinity',” asserts PANEGYRIST's singer/lyricist Elijah Tamu, “but is instead a higher individuation that occurs in relation to the Divine Other, across the ontological abyss. The abyss is transcended in a manner parallel to its very existence: the living relation between the individual and God is precisely the higher unity that is made possible by the distinction. Existence itself is prayer.”
Offering a unique, vertiginous combination of avant-garde/progressive black and epic heavy metal, sacred vocal chants and powerful screams, and with the furious drumming of Marcel Szumowski – who played on INFERNO's “Gnosis Kardias” – each track on “Hierurgy” is a spiritual working focusing on a particular aspect of theosis. Journey through alchemical riddles and contemplations on the inner and outer temple, the void and the eye, the serpent and the savior. Come at last to the shores of primordial mercury, and take flight on wings of theion, the philosophical sulfur and everliving fire.
Though conceptually dense, the music and words contained in “Hierurgy” are not merely theoretical musings; rather, they are drawn from prayers and meditations grounded in personal agonies and triumphs. “The Morning Star lights a narrow and all-consuming path,” concludes Tamu, “and these are the songs of those who dare to tread it.”

Following their well received debut release "Ruins" in 2016, Body Void returned to Earhammer Studios, once again under the watchful ear of Greg Wilkinson and submitted to tape an hour of painful sludge and wretched doom to welcome the year of 2018.
Continuing in the same style as fellow doom peers and labelmates Primitive Man and Keeper, as well as genre-defining bands like Khanate, Body Void built upon what they started with previous demos and "Ruins" but expanding upon what they have already manufactured to create, biased of course, what we consider one of the great doom metal records of 2018.
