Three older tracks which represent The Beast of Nod's original foray into technical/progressive death metal. These three songs recorded in 2015/2016 also detail some characters and events from our sci-fi universe, which we explored in greater detail in our 2018 debut full-length record "Vampira: Disciple of Chaos."

The Beast of Nod is a multimedia project whose primary arm is a technical/progressive death metal group. The band is currently split between Boston, MA and the SF Bay Area.

Desolate bible belt expanses. Darkened mires and Cyprus swampland. Abandoned factories, smashed glass and boarded doorways. An overgrown railroad track disappears into bleak landscape.

This is the world of Lichborne.

On “In Brightness Shadows Loom” the South Carolina natives present a bleak existence with the crushing sound of individual defeat. The seven song release combines depressive black metal with bursts of death laden howls creating a hypnotic work of agonizing breadth. “In Brightness Shadows Loom” is a battle between the individual and the darkened landscape enveloping them, the foreboding blackness that clings to the bones and threatens to pull us down.

“In Brightness Shadows Loom” is the first-full length from Lichborne, coming a year and a half after their debut self-titled EP. The album will be released on cassette through Realm and Ritual on October 19th in a limited print run of twenty-five copies.
