Razor sharp. Slithering. Dual chasms yawn. A Janus-faced entity blinks, looking back and forward through the uncanny gloom. Dual tongues chase each other, slithering past cavities in the broken teeth. Licking against the neck, pulling more offal toward the trough. Each face has a black hole in the iris of each eye. As photons evaporate against the retina on the other side of the event horizon, memory fades. A new knowledge, imbued from the excrement of microorganisms trickles through the throaty slough. Yes, we’ve been here before. Yes, we’ll be here again.

The entity known as ADVERSARIAL has opened the portal to a timeless realm of suffocation and agony once more. As Leviathan doubles back on itself, sulfur rises from the point of crossing, a bouquet of putrid yolk. This foul chemical will sustain nigredo, as metal black as midnight is tempered under atom smashing might.

AGGRESSION RELEASE VIDEO FOR "QUEEN OF THE DAMNED"

PRESS RELEASE:

Release Date: Friday May 3rd, 2024

FFO: Slayer, Dark Angel and Kreator

Location: Vancouver BC, Canada

Thrash Metal Legends Aggression Unleash Official Video for "Queen Of The Damned"

Canadian thrash metal veterans Aggression are proud to announce the release of their official video for "Queen Of The Damned," out today. Known for their relentless energy and uncompromising sound, Aggression returns to the forefront of the metal scene with this latest offering, capturing the essence of classic thrash metal with a modern twist.

Inspired by bands like Slayer, Dark Angel, and Kreator, Aggression has been a driving force in the thrash metal scene since their formation in Montreal, Quebec, in 1983. Originally known as Asylum and Adrenalin, the band solidified its identity as Aggression in 1985. Led by guitarists Denis “Sasquatch” Barthe and Bernard “Burn” Caudron, Aggression quickly gained traction with their aggressive riffs and commanding vocals.

Their journey through the metal underground led to invitations to contribute to metal compilations from New Renaissance Records, alongside acts like Flotsam and Jetsam, At War, Deathrash, Necrophagia, and Wehrmacht. Despite numerous complications, including delays in album releases, Aggression's impact on the Quebec metal scene was undeniable.

With the release of their 1986 debut album "Forgotten Skeleton" and the 1987 follow-up "The Full Treatment," Aggression received critical acclaim and established themselves as one of Quebec's most popular metal acts. Their concerts sold out across the province, and they shared the stage with legendary acts like Anvil, Celtic Frost, Voivod, Nuclear Assault, and Dark Angel.

However, due to substance abuse and legal issues, Aggression disbanded in 1989, only to be resurrected in 2005 and permanently reformed in 2014 in Vancouver, British Columbia, with Denis “Sasquatch” Barthe leading the charge once again. Since then, Aggression has released several albums, including "Fragmented Spirit Devils," "Feels Like Punk, Sounds Like Thrash," and "From Hell With Hate."

Now, armed with a new recording deal with Massacre Records, Aggression is gearing up for their upcoming album "Frozen Aggressors," set to be released in December 2023. The band's current lineup of Barthe (vocals, guitar), Dave “Watts” Watson (guitar), Kyle “Viking” Hagen (vocals, bass), and Ryan “Quatchi” Idris (drums) is the strongest yet, and they're ready to take the world by storm.

"Queen Of The Damned" is a testament to Aggression's enduring legacy in the metal scene and their commitment to delivering uncompromising thrash metal.

SUNMANCER RELEASE NEW SINGLE: "CHASM DARKLY"

PRESS RELEASE:

Metallic hardcore heavy hitters Sunmancer are poised to shake the foundations of the metalcore scene with their latest video single “Chasm Darkly”. Known for their relentless energy and unyielding heaviness, Sunmacer is also hitting the road with August Burns Red and Fuming Mouth in May (dates listed below) where listeners can catch the track live. The band comments on the song:

“Compared to our other songs, Chasm Darkly came together relatively quickly. This song was written in a span of a few hours, and only very minor tweaks were made after the demo was recorded. Everyone in the band really enjoys the vibe of the song, and it’s the first one that Ramon, our drummer, was able to sing on. The lyrical content is purposely left open to interpretation so that the listener can glean their own meaning. We are extremely proud of this song, and feel that it represents the musical direction we are moving in as a band.”

Lyrically, “Chasm Darkly” can be open to interpretation, but vocalist Justin Mazlik wrote it with his own struggles and anxiety in mind. Musically, Sunmancer wanted this track to have a wide range of feelings - going from heavy riffing with blast beats to epic choruses and calm bridges. They don’t revisit many of the riffs in the song, as to take the listener on more of a “journey” as opposed to just a verse-chorus-verse-chorus structure.

Formed by brothers Kyle and Justin Mazlik, Sunmancer rose from the ashes of Broadcast The Nightmare, carving out their own path in the metal landscape. Teaming up with Atlanta-based guitarist Jeremy Harlan of Faith In Ruin, the band's lineup solidified with the addition of Dan Nelson on bass and Ramon Rellum on drums.

“Chasm Darkly” is intended to be more than just a song, it is an experience - from the intense blast beats to the serene interludes, every element of the track is carefully crafted to evoke emotion and resonate with the audience. It is recommended for fans of Killswitch Engage, Counterparts, and The Black Dahlia Murder.

metalinjection.net/new-music/ceremony-of-silence-streams-serpent-slayer-announces-new-record-halios

Building upon the foundation laid by their debut album, this new release delves even deeper into the band's unique blend of brutality and atmosphere. The album radiates with suffocating intensity, introducing a richer, more atmospheric dimension to the band's sound, while retaining some of the band's signature aspects of haunting melodies, or breathtaking gradations.

Unborn, all-pervading and radiant. The immutable light of the Universe, our fundamental inherent nature, and a bridge to the mythical time. Hálios represents a breakthrough of the sacred into the temporal world, and sets forth on an eerie journey reenacting old stories inspired by the essence of the ancient Indo-European mythology, entwined in obscure visions and dreams.
