Burning with Luciferian hunger and baptized in nuclear horror, HOC EST BELLUM rose from the ashes in 2022. Based between Helsinki and Turku, the power trio unleashes a savage blend of grinding and bestial black/death chaos, channeling a sound that is both primitive and devastatingly direct. Their music thrives on raw aggression and ritualistic intensity, forged in an atmosphere of apocalyptic dread, satanic hostility and visions of mankind’s imminent extinction.

The band’s first release, the aptly titled “Demo 2023”, introduced this extermination squad to the underground with a display of feral brutality and uncompromising violence. BESNA RELEASES “LIVE AT BRUTAL ASSAULT”

While working on new material for the follow-up to their critically acclaimed album “Krásno”, Slovak post-black metal band BESNA decided to revisit their performance from last year’s Brutal Assault festival. Their early Saturday set drew a large crowd in front of the stage, and now everyone has the chance to either listen to or watch the performance in full.

“LIVE AT BRUTAL ASSAULT” will be released digitally on May 25, 2026 via the band’s Bandcamp and streaming platforms. Full live video recordings of all songs are available on the band’s YouTube channel.

Audio mixing and post-production were handled by Roman Vrecník at Unknown Sound Studio, while the album artwork was created by Matúš Novanský. Video editing and color grading were done by the band’s drummer Anton Samokhvalov, who compiled footage from the festival’s official recordings, shots by Frank Fišer, Milan Barančok, as well as fan recordings that capture what it feels like to experience the band straight from the pit.

Indian death metal force Godless have unleashed their brand new video for “Architect of Torment,” premiering through Decibel Magazine. The track marks a darker and more oppressive evolution in the band’s already devastating sound, pushing deeper into sinister territory while maintaining the precision and brutality fans have come to expect.

Decibel Magazine praised the single for its “tightly controlled aggression, jagged rhythmic turns, and suffocating atmosphere,” describing the song as “violent, focused, and mean enough to leave a mark.”

BIOGRAPHY:

Soulgrind is a Finnish metal band formed in 1992, known for blending gothic metal, thrash and black metal into a dark, melodic atmosphere. The band was founded by Lord Heikkinen, who has consistently contributed guitar and programming. Since 1999 Miika 'Azhemin' Niemelä has handled keyboards and programming, later adding harsh vocals.

Soulgrind's music often explores themes related to the darker aspects of Finnish history and psyche, combining passion, war, and the "dark side of mind" into their lyrical content, reflecting a deep connection to Finland's cultural and historical roots. But there has always been the bride side for the aspects as well. Classic war of love and hate.The  sound has evolved over the time, but Soulgrind has maintained a core identity rooted in metal with a dark, atmospheric edge, resisting strict genre categorization and embracing musical development freely.
