With 'Godslaughter', US band Nothingness push their Digressive Death ethos into a realm of unrestrained extremity - a convulsing surge of dissonant fervor, emotional upheaval, and atmospheric dread that shatters structural convention and cements the Minneapolis entity as one of the most uncompromising voices in contemporary death metal!

"Godslaughter is a confrontation. Where Supraliminal was largely a look inwards, our new record is a glare out into the world, and a concise statement that gradually unfurls into the excess of oblivion."

Nothingness, Minneapolis-based purveyors of Digressive Death, create music as an honest expression of extremity. What results is a cauldron of metallics, melodies, rhythms, and atmospheres that reflect the personal experiences and emotions of its creators.

The band formed in 2018 with the goal of making something that is true to their own tastes, talents, and with no preconceived notions for structure. Nothingness has previously honed their craft on two full-length albums: 'The Hollow Gaze of Death' (2019, Independent) and 'Supraliminal' (2023, Everlasting Spew Records).

For their 3rd full-length album 'Godslaughter' the band once again worked with their longstanding engineer of choice, and local Minneapolis sound freak, Adam Tucker of Signaturetone Recording, with guest appearances from Gabriele of Cosmic Putrefaction and Brendan of Altars/Convulsing.

Miami, Florida death/thrash metal trio INSCRIBED have released their new single “On the Stage of Death”, available now. The track is the second preview from their upcoming debut full-length album Upon the Twisted Throne, due out June 19, 2026 via Awakening Records.

Following the intensity of “Machinery of War,” this new single pushes deeper into the band’s progressive death/thrash identity, delivering shifting structures, technical precision, and a darker, more cinematic edge. Built around unpredictable transitions and layered songwriting, “On the Stage of Death” highlights INSCRIBED’s growing ambition and refusal to play it safe.

Inspired in part by Kentaro Miura’s Berserk, the track explores themes of religious extremism, human suffering, and psychological collapse, unfolding like a descent through escalating chaos and reflection. It’s both brutal and strangely controlled, balancing technical aggression with dramatic pacing and emotional weight.

INSCRIBED continue to carve their own lane in modern extreme metal by blending classic Florida death metal influence with a progressive mindset rooted in complexity and storytelling. Drawing from acts like Atheist, Hellwitch, Sadus, Cynic, and Nocturnus, the band pushes forward without losing that raw underground bite.

The band comments that “On the Stage of Death” represents one of the most ambitious structures we have written, built over years of refining ideas and pushing ourselves beyond comfort zones. It captures the shifting emotional weight we wanted this record to carry.

Upon the Twisted Throne was formed through years of relentless writing and live performance, with the core trio of Evie Austin (bass), Lucas Moore (drums and vocals), and Mario Alvarez (guitar) sharpening their identity across Florida’s underground scene.

“On the Stage of Death” continues to showcase the band’s bass-forward approach, with intricate low-end work driving the composition alongside razor sharp guitar phrasing and punishing drum intensity.

The first foundation stones for what would become the brutal architecture of Tomb Slab were laid back in 2024. The Atrocity Exhibit guitarist James Caygill and The Infernal Sea vocalist Dean Lettice discovered their mutual admiration for the anarchic, angry sludge of bands like Iron Monkey and Eyehategod - and slowly words and thoughts became riffs and lyrics, which then became early, rough demos. While other commitments soon intervened, the pair were determined to return to the sleeping behemoth they had christened Tomb Slab and in 2025 they did just that; now accompanied by Oneiros bassist John Hunter and Shyrkull drummer Kez Whelan. The beast was awake – and those early demos began the process of transformation into a self-titled debut album of soul crushing doom and sludge. With Road To Masochist, champions of the malign and malformed creatures of the UK underground on board, Tomb Slab the album is now ready to leave its nest of ash and bone and crawl out into the light…

Opening track ‘Kingdom Of Tyranny’ emerges from a wailing wall of feedback with a grim, purposeful air. The thudding drumbeats land with colossal power while the vocals are vicious to the point of self-destruction; you can almost feel the mucous membrane in Lettice’s throat tearing with every venomous, bilious utterance. The song pauses momentarily at its midpoint simply to bathe in the radioactive hum of the guitars before a well-placed death grunt kicks it back into action. ‘The Butcher’ follows, riding a dirty, attitude infused groove, the drumbeats still falling like hammer blows and you start to feel like there are only two ways to respond to Tomb Slab – you either commit to violence and wanton destruction or you enter a catatonic state, consciousness lost to the implacable riffs. With an intro that’ll bring a smile to all but the most po-faced of listeners, ‘Rawhead’ is part lively, obnoxious celebration and part grinding, hypnotic riff-poisoning, while the circling guitars of first single ‘What’s Below Remains Below’ demand a headbanging response and won’t be satisfied until something inside breaks. ‘Tomb Of Flesh’ then grows organically from the wreckage of ‘What’s Below Remains Below’, a darker, grimier thing, with a nasty glint in its eye, dragging itself forward with malicious intent until it collapses, dying in feedback screams that slowly become the gargantuan ‘Toils of The Unclean Spirit’. There’s a bleak resignation about this Godzilla like conclusion to the album, a life sapping ennui that sucks the energy from the song like marrow from a bone. It slows at its heart, almost drowning in its own bitter lethargy, just managing to pull clear from the quicksand long enough for a wandering bass line to inject enough vigour to get it moving again, staggering away into the screaming void from whence it came.

Recorded, mixed and mastered by Ian Boult (Mage, Abduction, Shyrkull etc) at Stuck On A Name Studios in Nottingham, Tomb Slab’s sonic palette is part rusted razor wire, part rubble and decay, but there’s a sparse clarity to it that allows every element of its brutal, broken choir to sing. Featuring the striking artwork of Amy Edwards (The Atrocity Exhibit etc), Tomb Slab will be driven from its place of confinement by Road To Masochist on July 17th and will be available on transparent yellow and black vinyl variants and CD.

Reunion Island thrash metal trio LOMOR is heading to Europe, launching a run of France and Belgium tour dates in support of their new album "Sabouk Rouge," with the trek kicking off at Hellfest. This band will be bringing their raw, Creole‑infused thrash to some of the region’s most respected stages (updated tour dates are listed below).

​The tour supports their latest album, "Sabouk Rouge," released this past February 2026 via Rockshots Records. Produced by the band, recorded and mixed by Sébastien Camhi at Art Music Studio in France, and mastered by Kai Stahlenberg at Kohlekeller Studio in Germany, "Sabouk Rouge" expands LOMOR’s sonic palette while staying true to their primal thrash roots. With more Creole lyrics woven in at fans’ request, the album strengthens its cultural identity as it shifts through a wide range of moods.

“The tracks are all different, each bringing its own atmosphere. It’s still trash, but with a variety of flavors,” says Eric.

​That diversity fuels a record that moves from the title track’s sharp satire of Réunion’s legacy of slavery to the grotesque obsession of “Meet Your Meat,” the ritualistic mysticism of “Sanctuary,” and the blistering critique of religion in “La Haine.” The tone lightens with the street‑racing humor of “La Pouss’,” then darkens again with “Panzram,” exploring the roots of a killer’s hatred. The album revisits Eric’s past with a reimagined “Kit Ta Mère” before closing on “Nevroz,” a reversed, tongue‑in‑cheek remake born from a studio joke.

LOMOR has carved its identity as one of the most distinctive metal acts emerging from the Indian Ocean. Their sound, described by guitarist/vocalist Eric Castelnau (Babouk) as “creole thrash old‑school stuff”, fuses classic 80s thrash aggression with the cultural grit and linguistic identity of Réunion Island.

LOMOR began as a deeply personal project for Eric, who formed the band in 2018 after the passing of his cousin and brother, both former bandmates in his earlier project, Black Babouk. The name Lomor, meaning “The Deads” in Réunion Creole, stands as a tribute to the people and memories that shaped his musical path.

​Joined by drummer Gurvan Cambrai (Typhvs) (also of grind outfit Brvtal trve d'baal) and bassist Micha (member of a local Rage Against the Machine tribute band), the trio has forged a sound rooted in old‑school thrash but sharpened by modern production and raw island energy.

Lomor is a power trio from Reunion Island (France) delivering an explosive blend of old-school thrash, punk, and core metal. Drawing inspiration from Slayer, Testament, and Kreator, the band channels the raw spirit of 80s thrash through modern production and unrelenting stage energy.

Superior Rage continue their resurgence with the release of the new lyric video for “Soleright”, a striking symphonic black metal track that captures the spirit of rebirth, self-discovery, and transformation.

After returning in 2024 with Anthology, Superior Rage have shown no signs of slowing down. Reinforced by a lineup of talented session musicians, the project reopened its creative path by revisiting selected classics while introducing new material through the promo release Back to the Crypt and the EP In Memoriam, the latter released with the support of WormHoleDeath.

Now, as work progresses on the forthcoming full-length album, Superior Rage reveal the lyric video for “Soleright” — a key track featured across the project’s recent releases and a defining statement of this new artistic chapter.

SUPERIOR RAGE began in 2006, delivering raw black metal with atmospheric, dark, and symphonic tones. The core lineup features Superior Rage (vocals, synths), Pagan Fury (guitars, synths), and Hyemens Kaiser Tszar (bass).

The first demo (2008) earned strong national reviews, followed by Through Infinity (2010), a mix of unreleased tracks and new material. Between 2010 and 2011, the project released several live recordings with temporary session musicians.

In 2011, SUPERIOR RAGE shifted toward symphonic black metal with III. Two Fire Eternal EPs followed, covering classic black metal songs—first in their original style, then in an ambient approach.

In 2012 the lineup expanded, producing new online recordings, additional covers, and a remake of “The Night of Rains.” The project paused in 2014, briefly resurfacing in 2017 with a new version of “Indecent Condition.”

SUPERIOR RAGE returned in 2022 with the single Boobs Explosions. This led to Anthology, a 2024 collection of re-recorded key tracks, including a new prog-influenced take on “Cuore Sincero.”

In 2025, the promo Back to the Crypt introduced two re-recorded tracks and a new song, “Soleright,” with four session members. The EP In Memoriam followed, adding a new version of “Asmodeus Bacchic” and the unreleased “Death of the Red Dragon.”

Through the long, cold hours of night, in that darkness which seems to stretch into forever, I gaze upon the countless wounds that disfigure my skin; the long, jagged scars, the deep, never healing cuts – infected and pustulent – a tracery of torments unending. And beneath the skin, within the cage of bone and flesh that imprisons me, the voices scream, unceasing howls of rage and hatred, agony and terror, sneering spite and abject ruin. I am a construct of madness, plagued by memory and steeped in blood, haunted and beset by devils. There is no end in sight, no hope for respite from the ravages of horror. I am trapped in this eternal nightmare, this incessant affliction…

Having left the brutal death metal scene battered and broken with their 2024 debut album, Reek Of Putrefaction On Excruciating Lust, Indonesian duo Vertiginous have returned with a sickening second serving of mind warping malice – Incessant Affliction! Ten new tracks delivered with a breathless intensity, each one a fresh wave of dread and terror, another injection of adrenaline straight into the chambers of the heart. It all begins with ‘Suffering, Misery And Slaughtering’, a furious assault of bewildering savagery, monstrous riffs, frantic drumming and a voice from the darkest recesses of the dreams you try to forget, the blistering pace slipping into an agonised crawl through the detritus of death. The superb riffs in tracks like ‘Engraved Loathing’ are realised with surgical precision and the levels of performance from multi-instrumentalist Hendika Dwi Prasetyo are off the scale, as he invokes the sound of a body torn apart. The vocal performance from Jossi Bima is equally impressive, his bestial exhortations like drowning in blood on the deeply unsettling ‘Chaotic In The Weakened Reason’. From the vicious jabs and sick bass tones of ‘Tortured With Endless Despair’ through the violent rampage of ‘Incubated Inquietude’ – shocking in its force and velocity, intensely satisfying in its single minded purpose, its absolute need to destroy absolutely – to the remorseless ‘Unclear Misery’, a final demand for no mercy, no quarter asked or given, just wholesale slaughter to the last gasping breath, Incessant Affliction towers above the average brutal death metal fare. These acts of torture have been meticulously crafted and steeped in the very essence of rot, decay and carnage.

Mixed and mastered at Endless Gruesome Studio, where the likes of Vile Desolation and Analtopsy have spawned their cruel creations, Incessant Affliction has a sound that conjures visions of bodies raked by methodical bursts of machine gun fire, the vicious disassembling of the human form. With its entrails and organs adorned in the unnerving artwork of the renowned Timbul Cahyono, aka Bvllmetalart (Avulsed, Defeated Sanity, Massacre etc), Incessant Affliction will be unleashed upon the world by Comatose Music on August 7th.
