LIE IN RUINS will unleash their most intense release to date with Floating in Timeless Streams. Throughout these 10 hellish tracks, LIE IN RUINS twists their cavernous sound into new, more violent forms. The impending destruction is evident in the album’s first single, “Spectral Realms of Fornication.”
Six years after LIE IN RUIN's last full-length (2014's Towards Divine Death), Floating in Timeless Streams sees a more streamlined approach from the band. A departure from the 70+ minute onslaught of Towards Divine Death, Floating in Timeless Streams delivers a more calculated attack, clocking in at 41 lethal minutes.
Floating in Timeless Streams continues to highlight the tremendous guitar work of Roni Ärling and Tuomas Kulmala, their mastery backed by new addition of CORPSESSED drummer Jussi-Pekka Manner. The album is rounded out by the tormented and guttural vocals of Roni Sahari (DESOLATE SHRINE).
LIE IN RUIN’s magnum opus, Floating in Timeless Streams is arguably the most brutal album of 2020. Finnish death metal's finest!

Colombian blackened metallers ESHTADUR are excited for the imminent release of their new album From the Abyss, September 4th via Nuclear Blast's Blood Blast Distribution
Eshtadur launched in the fall of 2005 releasing the "Timo Be Timo" demo with a sound inspired by At The Gates, Soilwork, and SepticFlesh. Since then, they have released a pair of EPs and a potent trio of albums. The band embodies a deathly melodic atmosphere that reaches into realms of darkness and despair through the decay of humanity. With a name translating to "rebellion of angels," this Colombian outfit seeks to rebel in its own darkened way, embracing the abject reality.
Their rich touring history includes performances across Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia. They have shared the stage and toured with Cradle of Filth, Vader, Graveworm, Coldblood, Abbadon Incarnate and more in shows all over the world, and even headlined a stage at Rock Al Parque, Colombia's premiere heavy music festival, in 2016.
Eshtadur toured through Europe to support their 2017 album Mother Gray (via Bleeding Music Records). Now set to unleash their new work From the Abyss through Nuclear Blast's Blood Blast Distribution on September 4th, there's nowhere for these rebellious angels to go but up.
ANCIENT THRONES have a new single out “Divided/Dissolve”, taken off the anguish filled cosmic adventure found in their debut, under this new band name (formerly Abysseral Throne), the album “The Veil”.
“Divided/Dissolve” follows the character of the story into stage four of grief, where he is massively depressed by the revelation feeling the division from his world. From earth crushing riffs and face-melting guitar solos to the overarching theme of grief and devastation that the record encompasses, this single really ramps up the intensity. It stays a fairly constant onslaught of intense guitar riffs while still retaining a melodic edge.
Towards the end, it really shifts gears and slow things way down to some doomy type territory and a very textured fade out outro. The band explains the album in their own words:
“It is the face of endless tragedy through an impressive onslaught of exchanging guitar riffs which show the increased intensity of anguish in the latter half of the album. Pulling you through a hopeless path and digging through the painful burrow of crushing technical sharp death metal until you finally arrive at the earned and complete emotional climax of the record that is the Dissolve. This track takes no prisoners and tolerates no sympathy in its entirety, beckoning you to question your own sorrow and resistance to fulfillment.”
“The Veil” is a natural evolution in sound, form, and change in style that led the band to become Ancient Thrones. This is unlike anything the members have released before. Recommended for fans of The Red Chord, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Wolves in the Throne Room.
Ancient Thrones, formerly “Abysseral Throne”, is a locally acclaimed blackened metal outfit that rebranded to suit major changes in line-up and songwriting.
Formed in 2011, they quickly went to work to establish themselves among their scene and gained local notoriety eventually allowing them the opportunities to open for renowned metal acts from across the globe.
Sean Hickey (drums/vocals) is the sole original founder of Abysseral remaining, Matt LeBlanc joined in 2015 on bass and improved and refined the sound and operation drastically. Once they lost their original singer and guitar player Jonny Rains, Dylan Wallace joined and took over main songwriting duties. Hickey took over completely on vocals with a black/death metal vocal style, and Nick Leslie joined shortly after on the second guitar. Work began on writing a new album which took about 3 months to write the music for. The new material sparked the name change to Ancient Thrones as an homage to one of Hickey’s favorite bands and inspirations, Wolves in the Throne Room.
In 2013 the band released its debut record and its subsequent follow-up in 2016, “Storming The Black Gate”, which was nominated for an East Coast Music Award. Ancient Thrones have toured throughout Canada, and played at several festivals, sharing the stages with bands such as Silverstein, The Agonist, Black Crown Initiate, and Skull Fist.
2020 sees the release of the concept album “The Veil” showcasing the band’s desire for storytelling and pushing them to new heights musically. The new album explores the journey of a man faced with tragedy, his mortality and ultimately the permanence of our actions told through technical soundscapes and haunting atmosphere.
Colorado-based thrashers Havok release a brand new music video for the song “Fear Campaign”, taken off their current record “V”, which was released earlier this year.
Havok guitarist/vocalist David Sanchez comments: “Although it was written in 2019, "Fear Campaign" sounds like it should be the theme song for 2020. The lyrics seem to become more and more relevant as the weeks go by. In the video, we wanted to capture the manic nature of media, propaganda, and other forms of mind control that have plagued civilization for thousands of years. The fear campaign appears to be at an all-time high right now and the only way to end it is to stop being afraid. Reject fear.”
Check out the official music video for “Fear Campaign”, directed by K. Hunter Lamar and produced by Digital Myle, below
“V”, Havok’s 5th studio album and relentless follow-up to 2017’s “Conformicide” effort, was engineered, mixed, mastered by Mark Lewis (Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder, etc.) and showcases stunning artwork by Eliran Kantor (Testament, Hatebreed, etc.).
Rome’s SHORES OF NULL are releasing an ambitious and massive single “Beyond the Shores (On Death and Dying)” via Spikerot Records on November 27th, 2020.
The single, while one complete work, can be divided into five separate movements, each one exploring one of the recognized stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. This single is a partial deviation from the sound Shores of Null has been refining over the years as they enhance their heavier, slower, and dramatic elements to create their ultimate doom manifesto. In this dark venture, the band has involved a bunch of special guests, including two doom-titans such as Mikko Kotamäki (Swallow The Sun) and Thomas A. G. Jensen (Saturnus) plus the angelic voice of Elisabetta Marchetti (Inno).
The doom metal act has already released the first excerpt for listeners to immerse themselves with a three and half minute clip that shows various elements that this doom metal band has woven together to create a thick aura of forlorn melancholy.
Shores Of Null is a Rome-based metal band, an unwavering presence within the metal underground since their outset in 2013, able to churn out two impressive records: the highly acclaimed debut “Quiescence” (Candlelight, 2014) and the sophomore, more complex “Black Drapes For Tomorrow” (Candlelight/Spinefarm, 2017), both heavily praised by the worldwide press.
For fans of anything dark and dreary, especially those with an existing interest in Swallow The Sun, My Dying Bride, and Paradise Lost; “Beyond the Shores (Excerpt I)” was released on October 2, 2020 and can be heard on the following links:
From out of nowhere comes one of the most devastating brutal death metal assaults you will ever hear! Focal Dystonia’s debut album, Descending (In)Human Flesh is a terrifying tsunami of raging riffs and an unrelenting drum battery of staggering speed and heaviness. This is the sound of rage beyond control, of vengeance unleashed and opposition pulverised into non-existence. No more holding back in the face of slights and disrespect, just absolute bloody and beautiful annihilation!
Focal Dystonia was created by multi-instrumentalist Floor van Kuijk (Korpse/Carnifloor) and drummer Florent Duployer (Anachronism/Kakothanasy) in early 2020. Due to their innate understanding of the essence of brutal death metal, the project progressed at hellish speed. Soon they had ten songs that epitomised the genre, in all its gaudy, violent extremes and next set about assembling an incredible line-up of international vocalists to give voice to their macabre creations. In total, twelve of the underground’s most renowned proponents of throat-ruining vocal savagery contributed to the recording of Descending (In)Human Flesh – an unprecedented collective of demonic vocalizing. For now these bestial names are being kept secret, to be revealed as the days and weeks pass and the December 11th release of Descending (In)Human Flesh grows nearer.
It is, of course, Comatose Music that will be responsible for spreading the plague of Focal Dystonia worldwide – no other label being equipped to handle such a diabolical expulsion of frenzied barbarity. Descending (In)Human Flesh is not just a masterful display of domineering power, it is also a horrifying love letter to the brutal death metal scene; everything that a dedicated fan could wish for in their warped dreams. Expect no mercy when this beast is unleashed!
You can experience the first explosive outpourings of Focal Dystonia at SLAM WORLDWIDE, where an exclusive premiere of the track 'Pinnacle Of Deranged Euphoria' is available now:

LOSS OF INFECTION is a deathcore / death metal band formed in January 2019 when Heewook-Lee, Seolmin kim and Jongwook-Shin left the band Tornself, which was active in Daegu, and recruited bass member Jaehyeop Oh, Guitar member Noa.
The EP Dark Dimension has been in preparation since January 2019. At first, it was simple. The desire was to create a wild feel with a more speedy and intense blast beat which gave birth to songs found on the EP. The band also adjusted the tempo of songs by putting in their own lyrical parts. For example, track number four and the performances of classical instruments over tracks 5 and 6.
The classical part of this EP was arranged by Material Pneuma of Dark Mirror ov Tragedy.
The Dark Dimension story begins with extraterrestrial life represented by Cthulhu, which first dominates or destroys humans, flying out of space.
