Dwarrowdelf Records are delighted to announce the release of the highly anticipated new album:- ACHERONTIA STYX - SHADOW AND FLAME

Hailing from Northern England, Acherontia Styx brings multiple creative influences to the table. Their core sound is steeped in 90s Groove and Death Metal, with individual members bringing a host of external flavors into the mix, including PROG, GRIND and FUNK. F or fans of Arch Enemy, The Haunted, Soilwork, Killswitch Engage, Lamb Of God.

The band have a huge list of accolades, including Metal Devastation Radio Band Of The Month, Ripper Radio Band Of The Month, Mayhem Radio Song Of The Week and a Radio Wigwam Rock Song Of The Year Nomination. They have also been included on compilations by Metal Coffee, Sick Muzik and a host of local releases, with the album already receiving numerous 5 star reviews from worldwide press and international radio and podcast play.

The album is available on all major streaming and download sites, with a physical release scheduled to coincide with the eventual return of live music performances.

THIS DAY IN 1991: SLAYER RELEASE "DECADE OF AGGRESSION"

 

On October 22nd 1991, thrash masters SLAYER released their crushing live album "Decade of Aggression". Finding the band at the peak of their creativity with the "Seasons in the Abyss" album, SLAYER decided to record tracks from 3 shows (two in the US and one in London). The album features live versions of tracks from SLAYER´s first five albums (that is, their classic era). Opening with "Hell Awaits" the band shows why they were a pure thrash storm on the stage. Tracks like "Die By the Sword", "South of Heaven" and "Angel of Death" sound here more violent than in their studio versions. This is a testament of the lineup with Dave Lombardo on drums, since he left the band after the tour, just to be replaced by Paul Bostaph for the next album, "Divine Intervention".
