SYNASTRY RELEASE LYRIC VIDEO FOR "CIVILIZATION´S COMA"

PRESS RELEASE:

After being silent for nearly a decade, Montreal's Synastry unleashed their new EP “Civilization’s Coma” this past November. The band made a name for themselves on the Quebec and Ontario tour circuits in the early 2000s along with their releases Pallets Of My New World (2006) (EP) and Blind Eyes Bleed (2008) (LP). In 2012, the band went dormant, where they remained until 2020 remerging from the shadows.

Today the band is sharing their lyric video for their new EP's title track, which can be viewed HERE.

The band adds:

"The title track of the EP is a dissonant groove fest that gets into you and doesn’t let go. Everything is super heavy yet infectious. Vocals have the longest continuous scream by James Aniston doing a 22 second inhale scream starting at 2:34. The lyrics are about how civilization is on autopilot, consideration, and compassion is out the window for everyone, yet we all share the suffering for it, but choose to do nothing."

With newfound vigor, “Civilization’s Coma” is filled with heavy groovy modern metal that will be familiar to existing fans of the band while encouraging new listeners to embrace them. This reintroduction will give metalheads a taste of what's to come while being able to stand on its own merit. This EP is just the start for Synastry who hopes they can bring their energetic live shows back to crowds far and wide post Covid times.

Recommended for anyone who enjoys groove and melodic metal, especially those with an existing fondness for Within The Ruins, and Fear Factory.

“Civilization’s Coma” digital download HERE. Spotify playlist adds HERE.

WITCH TIT RELEASE "INTOXICATING LETHARGY"

PRESS RELEASE:

“That is what I fear most, that I become so caught up in the pursuit of the pleasures of life that I am never truly alive.” That is the power of Intoxicating Lethargy, which is also the title of WitchTit’s début album. The crushing five-piece doom metal outfit from Raleigh, North Carolina are releasing the follow-up after testing the waters via a split with Etiolated, but it’s a very different band that walked into the studio this time.

The most marked change in WitchTit is the addition of vocalist Reign, whose delivery hits the wailing tones of Messiah Marcolin crossed with a young Iggy Pop in his Stooges days. Her words cover a myriad of topics, from the alcohol-tinged “Silver Tongue” to the call away from inaction in the title track alluded to in the quote. Each line is delivered with relish, whether belting to the rafters or slinking on the floor, oozing with character.

The music is also a veritable conundrum in itself - how can one group blend together the horror-spun doom of Celtic Frost and Candlemass with the NWOBM elements of Witchfinder General and Manilla Road, and yet have it sound so fresh? The drumming is a major highlight of this, especially on the closer “Home Invasion”. There’s even some thrash in their influences, as the ripping guitar solo at the end of “Intoxicating Lethargy” can attest. The result is a début full-length which simultaneously fits right in with other releases of 2020/2021 and also has the sensation of having tumbled out of the 80s.

In the end, WitchTit prove themselves a force to be reckoned with in North Carolina doom, and Intoxicating Lethargy is a major milestone in this burgeoning band’s career. If their memorable live shows are anything to go by, the troupe will be demanding our attention again very soon.

Intoxicating Lethargy will be released on March 12 2021.

CAZADOR RELEASE VIDEO FOR "EXIGENT"

PRESS RELEASE:

In celebration of the release of their album "Acceptance/Isolation" Boston's CAZADOR are now streaming their video for the track "Exigent".

The band commented "This song is probably the "centerpiece" of the album; full-on jaded hopelessness and attempting to cope. Trying to find the beauty in erosion and loss."

Watch the video: https://youtu.be/pGeRhC6M82Q

Order: https://cazadorboston.bandcamp.com/album/acceptance-isolation

Genre-defying Boston doom outfit CAZADOR is gaining more and more traction in the Northeast underground scene.  Formed in 2014, the band features Joe Haryanto on bass and lead vocals, Cliff Cazeau on drums and backing vocals, and Jake Quinn on guitar.  As Two Guys Metal Reviews put it, "CAZADOR went very quickly from being 'just another sludge metal band' to a group who fuse sludge with hardcore and doom.  What they leave us with is an emotionally powerful and sonically devastating offering that is going to keep you enthralled."

CAZADOR's debut EP Broken Sun (2017) and their follow-up LP Failure to Thrive (2019), both recorded and engineered by Alex Garcia-Rivera of the legendary Boston hardcore outfit American Nightmare at his Mystic Valley Studios, quickly cemented their place as an up-and-coming band to watch.  Their new album Acceptance/Isolation, expected in December 2020, will be released via Suspended Soul Tapes and Records and was recorded and engineered at New Alliance Audio by Alec Rodriguez (Lesser Glow) and mastered by Magnus Lindberg of post-metal titans, Cult of Luna. The new album will also feature artwork and visuals provided by Neonderthal Designs/Dina Makarita.

The band says, "We started out as a strictly doom metal group and slowly evolved over time to include bits and pieces of  the different feelings we had and the absolutely insane state of the changing world.  As we continued into our evolution, we began to add more nuance to our sound and include more influence from non-metal artists that personally touched us. Starting out as a straightforward, sludgy outfit and evolving into a leaner, more refined sound was an important factor in us growing as artists and we believe that is reflected in our current sound. In many ways, we became more aggressive in writing and composing with more melancholic ideals.

Where we stand now shows how disenfranchised we are with the current heavy music scene and also the world at large. It's so easy for bands to easily try to fit a mold or a genre, but we genuinely try to create music that is more relatable than anything else. The human condition is a tragic experience and involves so many different feelings. We aim for those complexities to be heard and felt through our art."

With Acceptance/Isolation ready to upend expectations, CAZADOR will surely deliver the both the emotional and sonic depths they promise. Known as "one of the best kept secrets in the Boston underground scene," this trio won't be a secret much longer.

RED CAIN RELEASE "KINDRED: ACT II"

PRESS RELEASE:

Calgary, Canada’s progressive prog Red Cain have launched the pre-order for their new album “Kindred: Act II” set for digital release on January 22, 2021. The CD physical release will be done by Sliptrick Records at a later date in the new year. The upcoming full length continues and ends the band's storytelling of their Kindred saga.

Vocalist Evgeniy Zayarny adds:

"Here we go, friends - the pre-order for our next LP "Kindred: Act II" is LIVE! Thank you for your belief in our work. Ride on with us on the second half of the "Kindred" saga - this mad march toward the Sun. Experimental, aggressive, and recognizably Red Cain in its style, “Kindred: ACT II” picks up and expands on the events from our previous album, centralizing the story around the Aztec warrior Zalcoatl, ritually chosen to save his people, and trapped inside an alien pyramid to battle a hungry, unearthly Lovecraftian entity that plans to use him to be released into the world beyond its archaic prison."

Along with the pre-order of “Kindred: Act II”, Red Cain is giving fans seven custom pieces of digital art designed by the band along with an immediate download of their goth-rock headbanger "Demons".

Album pre-order available at the following link: https://redcain.bandcamp.com/album/kindred-act-ii

Described as a vehicle of “Melancholy and Rage” and born out of the emerging music scene of Alberta, Canada, 2017 YYC Awards Metal Recording of the Year winner Red Cain is a power/progressive metal project with Russian roots. With intricate songwriting, a heavy yet melodic feel reminiscent of progressive acts, and elements of Slavic myth and Russian paganism in the storytelling tradition of the cult of Veles, Red Cain champion a fluid, dynamic, and unique musical style centered around telling dark, conceptual Faustian sagas and constructing those into an unforgettable live experience.

Stated by frontman Evgeniy Zayarny as wanting to bring back the “Devil’s music” mysticism all too often missing in modern metal acts, Red Cain delivers flair, groove, and an intricate, lethal edge in their music. Listeners might well pick out elements reminiscent of such luminary acts as Kamelot, Symphony X, Tesseract, Amaranthe, Alter Bridge – whipped into a venomous new shape. The current incarnation of the band is all of these influences mixed with a lot of vodka and Eastern European melancholy, shaken and stirred.

Red Cain released its debut self-titled EP in November 2016 to rave reviews from a variety of publications such as Dead Rhetoric, MetalUnderground, and Firewind magazine, among many others. Red Cain’s EP had the honour of winning Metal Recording of the Year at the 2017 YYC Music Awards. The band has a strong emerging fanbase around the world, being named one of the top 200 bands of 2016 by Headbangers Latinoamerica and the EP’s cover art selected as one of 2016’s 15 best by Metal Underground.

Red Cain’s first full-length album “Kindred: Act I” was released in March 2019 to a variety of excellent reviews internationally, reaching #1 on Canadian College Radio Earshot Loud charts and establishing the band as a force in the Canadian metal scene, and landing the band a distribution deal with European label Sliptrick Records. A variety of festival appearances at Loud As Hell Metal Festival, Hyperspace Metal Festival, and Canada Wacken Competition have served to cement that status. Red Cain’s music videos for “Juliet” and “Zero” have to date garnered 11 international film festival awards, including the Music Video Award at the Accolade Global Film Competition (LA).
