Recent The Artisan Era signees Stortregn are proud to announce the upcoming release of their fifth full-length, Impermanence. Set for release on March 12th via The Artisan Era. Famed Italian painter Paolo Girardi (Power Trip, Artificial Brain, Chthe'ilist) lends his masterful touch to the fantastic artwork adorning Impermanence. Recorded, mixing and mastering were handled at Conatus Studio, Switzerland by Vladimir Cochet (Mirrorthrone, Weeping Birth).
Active since 2006, the Geneva-Switzerland-based act has released four albums and an EP to date which has garnered them worldwide praise from music writers and extreme metal fans alike. Their most recent prior album, 2018's Emptiness Fills the Void, boosted the band's status and fanbase to new levels, leaving it up to them to work their asses off in order to drop something in the future that could top it. Now the time has come for the group to take their next leap forward, a sentiment Impermanence embodies and embraces with unorthodox yet graceful conviction from start to finish.
Impermanence is not just another release meant to keep the gears churning, this is the result of a project that advances and expands what they're capable of every time they drop something new. "I grew up always questioning authority. I never understood what gives them the right to tell me what to do. I follow the 'Golden Rule'. I don’t need someone to tell me what is right or wrong. I am not your child. That feeling was there as a kid and continued to grow over the years. I have no idea why or what caused me to see the world like that. I must have been born this way. Back in the early days of the band all my lyrics were somewhat based on this. I just wasn’t as aware then as I am now. We wrote a song called 'Chaos' back in 1986. That song was about questioning everything and everyone including your parents. It was about challenging authority and the stories they force fed you. I didn’t know why I felt something was wrong in the world, but I KNEW IT WASN'T RIGHT. As I got older and read and researched things I figured it out. Listening to 'Chaos' all these years later I realized I now had the answers to the questions I had in those lyrics. If you listen to 'Chaos' you will hear part of the lyrics in 'There Is Something Wrong'. Listen to these lyrics and you will hear me answering those lyrics. Wake up world before it’s too late."

Somewhere between Doom, Symphonic and pure Heavy Metal, King Baal hail from Portugal with a very personal approach to metal, blending powerful and intense patterns with occasional dreamy musical landscapes. This emotion filled energy is topped with a mix of sung, spoken and screaming vocals, thus adding even more depth to the band’s dark mood.
All these elements are present in King Baal’s first effort “Conjurements”, an eight track album inspired by King Solomon’s writings and set for release by WormHoleDeath, on 29-01-2021. Recorded and produced by Narciso Monteiro at Interstellar Cloud Studios, the album features a rich lineup with members that have played and recorded with bands like Heylel, Nihility, Sotz and Lyfordeath.

Dawn’s first light begins to unwind its weary fingers through the splayed branches of the naked, sleeping trees. The winter air is like crystal, numbing your mouth, freezing your throat and riming your lungs in a fragile cage of hoar frost. The pale sun holds no warmth and your blood becomes sluggish, like an ice choked stream, as you stand at the end of your path – slowly, quietly dying. Your last breath drifts between your lips in a small, soft cloud and a lone, black bird begins to sing an unheard lament for your passing.
As time gently draws a pall of velvet darkness across the closing eyes of this broken year, Nre, the bard of And Now The Owls Are Smiling, emerges from his solitude once more. He brings with him Dirges, a new collection of songs for the heavy-hearted who shield their sorrows from the world like a flickering flame in a storm, to whom the sadness is a treasure, a pathway of memory, a gift never to be relinquished. Dirges is the distilled essence of that deep melancholy, a bleakly beautiful landscape of tears painted in shades of grey. Once again Nre has entwined the sweepingly majestic with agonizing intimacy to create the stunning sound of And Now The Owls Are Smiling and as last year’s powerful offering, The Comforting Grip Of Misery, took great strides beyond debut release Desolation, so Dirges towers over its predecessor in turn. “The Shamanic Trilogy” is the debut release by Experimental Occult Black Metal project 0-NUN.
“The Shamanic Trilogy” is a phenomenally progressive achievement in Experimental Black Metal, and an ambitious effort from the project known as 0-NUN, which we are now excited to release in physical format.
The trilogy is a terrifyingly dark and ominous release, skillfully combining the rawness of Black Metal, awe-inspiring tribal and ritualistic parts, and dark symphonic passages. With each of the 3 CDs running for 22 minutes and 22 seconds exactly, the end result is a 66 minutes (and 66 seconds) long meditation on Nothingness.
Thematically, the opus deals with the notions of Inexistence, Emptiness, Void and the absence of being but in a shamanic way. In ancient Egypt, the word “nun” meant the liquid cosmic that gave birth to the universe. So 0-NUN means the absence of it. It portrays the abyssal Void that transposes all that has ever been to a dimension where it never was.

The Corona Lantern was originally planned as a studio-only project. Back in 2014, Igor Krakhmalev (Guitars in Diligence) and Daniela Neumanova (Vocals in Diligence and Abnormality (live performance in 2019)) have merged their efforts yearning to submerge into slow sludgy atmospheric waters. They were then joined by Simon Hajdovky (Drums in Monna, Fanfan Tulipan, Diligence, North Innergy, and others) and Dmitriy Borovkov (Bass Guitar). As a result of these efforts “MMXV” EP has appeared and inspired the band to follow up with an LP Consuming the Tempest and to begin their live performances. On stage the band is accompanied by Tonda Smrcka (Guitars in Rise of Surya).
