JOURNEY INTO DARKNESS RELEASE "MULTITUDES OF EMPTINESS"

PRESS RELEASE:

Journey Into Darkness is the solo project of ex-guitarist Brett Clarin from the death metal band Sorrow ( Roadrunner, 1991-1993). The music is a unique style of symphonic black death metal with occasional interludes of dark synth. The music focuses on dark and sinister melodies all while maintaining heaviness and intensity.

" a solitary pursuit rooted in the symphonic worlds of Dimmu Borgir, Emperor and Cradle of Filth, sci-fi soundtracks and dungeon synth " - Decibel Magazine Feb 2021

"The album is great from start to finish and is essential for those looking for something a little different and unique in front of an endless sea of generic bands. However, keep an open mind, as this is a complex album that demands your attention and is not for those who are simply looking for something to play without attracting background attention.." -  B roken Tomb Magazine

"The album sounds pertinent and flawless, even if it evokes insane and chaotically cosmic emotions (like the cover art) and lyrically emphasizes the weaknesses of humanity, the competently built compositions and the fresh ideas can’t entirely allow descending into this psychic dark voyage of the music." -  Antichrist Magazine

"In my opinion Journey Into Darkness are a very great sounding symphonic mixture of black, doom and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. ." -  A Different Shade of Black Metal Zine

"While the synthie tracks build up tension like an approaching thundersturm, the Black Metal songs burst down like when lightning strikes....The new work by Journey into Darkness is definitely more than just a Black Metal release. With the symphonic arrangements "Multitudes of Emptiness" contains an artistic merit." -  MangoWave

"Songs are catchy, driven by rich and also very dark orchestrations, which strengthen the gloomy ambience but still epic created by the musician since the very firsts notes.." -  A cta Infernalis

The new release “Multitudes of Emptiness” has eight tracks that will leave the listener floating in the vast emptiness of space and existence where nothingness prevails. Four songs are a unique style of symphonic black death metal and three tracks are dark interludes. The final song is a hybrid of the old synth style and the new heavy guitar style, an emotional instrumental that blends heavy doomy guitars with synths and orchestral parts. The lyrics are well thought out and will help draw the listener into the intensity and emotion of the music.

After the Roadrunner death metal purge in the mid 1990s my band, Sorrow, called it quits. Inspired by the intros and interludes on extreme metal albums, I started Journey Into Darkness in the mid 90s as an all synth solo project. After releasing just one album “Life Is a Near Death Experience” the project was put on hold for quite some time. Resurrected in 2018 guitars and vocals were added to give new dimension and depth to the music.

The result is a sound like no other. In keeping with the motivation that gave birth to Journey Into Darkness, all instruments on “Multitudes of Emptiness” are virtual. This allows for extreme flexibility in the sound and the music.

"I have been involved with the death and black metal scene since its inception. Between 1987-1993 I played guitar in the death metal band Sorrow (formerly Apparition) that released two records on Roadrunner. I went on to own a CD/record store and record label (None of the Above) during the 90s. Twenty years have passed, but my passion for extreme music never waned."

"Only $3 for album download, use code "MDR" on Bandcamp"

Multitudes of Emptiness is also available on compact disc via Bandcamp, limited copies left!

OSYRON RELEASE VIDEO FOR "VIPER QUEEN" FROM NEW ALBUM "KINGSBANE. DELUXE EDITION"

PRESS RELEASE:

After great reception from new fans for their 2020 record "Foundations", Calgary, Canada’s Osyron will be reintroducing the past to the present with the re-release of their 2017 album "Kingsbane" in a Deluxe Edition on May 14th.

The Deluxe Edition of "Kingsbane" will feature all original tracks from the 2017 full-length remixed and remastered (original recordings were with former drummer Trevor Cobb). There will also be three rewritten and rearranged bonus tracks for Viper Queen, Griefmaker, and Razor's Wind (Acoustic) with current drummer Cody Anstey. The original recordings of the bonus tracks were written by guitarists Krzysztof Stalmach and Bobby Harley, but for the Deluxe Edition were collaborated by the whole band. The Deluxe Edition of "Kingsbane" was also entirely re-mixed by bassist Tyler Corbett and re-mastered by drummer Cody Anstey.

In lead up to "Kingsbane: Deluxe Edition", the band is sharing the music video for the remixed, remastered, and rewritten single "Viper Queen". The video injects fans with venomous speed and a power punch of melodic heavy metal.

"Viper Queen" can be watched via YouTube - https://youtu.be/S6aSsrCdfmU

The band adds about the track:

“Viper Queen'' had actually always felt like the “odd one” out on the album, especially stylistically. All of the other songs have sections that repeat from song to song, or motifs that reprise, and all the other songs have a section that acts as a part of the intro piece  (From Ashes). Viper Queen never really fell into that same groove and was never considered as a single on the first release of Kingsbane. However, it immediately did well live. People absolutely loved the song, and even we felt that especially live it captured a certain energy that was maybe missed from the recorded performance. We’ve even received comments from people about how they didn’t really get Viper Queen until they came to a show and watched it happen live, so to that end we wanted to really nail it for the re-release. We re-arranged it to trim some of what we considered the fat, and we sped up the tempo to more accurately translate some of that “live” intensity we felt it was missing!"

For "Kingsbane", Osyron dives into a story of a hero who must reluctantly take up arms against a tyrant king in a neighbouring land. Along the way, he faces many inward, and outward challenges he must overcome to achieve his goal. Through it all, the hero learns a valuable lesson that even though they are duty-bound to stop this great evil, this great evil is also in the eye of the beholder. They discover that the weight of absolute power has the potential to corrupt absolutely - maybe not all villains are as one-dimensional as they seem from the outset.

With powerful songwriting and progressive symphonic melodies, fans of Nightwish, Dream Theater, and Wintersun can enjoy Osyron's "Kingsbane: Deluxe Edition" when it's released on May 14th, 2021.

SOLUS EX INFERIS RELEASE "DAEMONES CERAMICI" + LYRIC VIDEO FOR "DESTROYING MALEVOLENCE"

PRESS RELEASE:

Solus Ex Inferis is a trans-continental, technical death metal band founded by long-time musician and guitar player, Dave Sevenstrings alongside Marco Pitruzzella aka Lord Marco (Six Feet Under, Sleep Terror, ex-The Faceless), Sahil Makhija aka Demonstealer (Demonic Resurrection, Reptilian Death), Ollie Morgan (Necropathy) and Mauricio Catalán. The band first broke into the worldwide metal scene back in 2018 with their critically acclaimed 4-song EP, Demonic Supremacy. Three years on, Solus Ex Inferis has resurfaced with news of their debut full-length album, Daemones Ceramici; scheduled to be released on 9th July 2021. Alongside the announcement, the band has also unveiled a new single off of the upcoming LP titled, Destroying Malevolence. The track is accompanied with a slick lyric video featuring, in great detail, the diabolic cover art drawn by Tata Kumislizer. Stream/listen, [HERE].

Formed in 2017, Solus Ex Inferis came about as a means for the band’s original bassist and co-founding member, Matt Nemeth, to hone his audio engineering & production capabilities. Looking for a specific style of extreme metal drumming, Nemeth and Sevenstrings —  both die-hard fans of Pitruzzella’s work — decided to approach him to see if he’d be interested in joining the band. Once Pitruzzella agreed, the two decided to engage a full-time vocalist (Sahil Makhija) and a lead-guitar player (Ollie Morgan). This line-up, with members from US, Australia, Chile and India, went on to record the band’s debut EP, Demonic Supremacy. Soon after its release, Nemeth quit the band and was replaced by Mauricio Catalán. Catalán, besides being a bassist, also ran a full-fledged studio and it was here where the band’s upcoming full-length was entirely mixed & mastered.

Right from the band’s inception, it has been Dave Sevenstrings’ constant endeavour to write music that combined fast-paced, blast-beat style death metal with melodic lead elements and simultaneously was informed by the sounds of celebrated bands in the genre like Vital Remains, Hypocrisy, Deeds Of Flesh, Psycroptic etc. It started to evolve into its own thing once all the members started participating in the writing process and started to contribute some of their own musical influences from the different regions they came from. Hence, the music on Daemones Ceramici, while being devastatingly fast-paced and razor-sharp technical, “still retains the core of any good song, (and includes) solid riffs that you can headbang to” says Dave. If you thought the last EP was any indication of how brutal or extreme Solus Ex Inferis could sound, the full-length quashes all of that point-blank and strives to push all known boundaries within the tech-death realm. Named after the malevolent spirits in Greek mythology, Solus Ex Inferis’ debut full-length plays around concepts of demonology and the occult; often re-contextualizing it for the terrible state of the world as we know it today. “The album reflects on human beings as the real demons, it reflects the hypocrisy and hatred fueled by religion” adds Makhija, the band’s frontman and lyricist.

Tracklist

1) The Myth Creation (03:10)

2) Constructing The Great Divide (03:50)

3) Shattering Divinity (04:16)

4) Destroying Malevolence (04:47)

5) Set Ablaze The Books Of Deception (03:12)

6) Destroying False Gods (05:30)

7) The Black Gate (04:29)

YELLOWTOOTH RELEASE OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR "FROM FAITH TO FLAMES"

PRESS RELEASE:

Indiana's YELLOWTOOTH have released the official video for "From Faith To Flames." The track comes from forthcoming album The Burning Illusion. The video was directed by Adam Laughlin and can be viewed at this location.

Having survived the plague year, YELLOWTOOTH will release its long-awaited third album, The Burning Illusion, April 30 on Orchestrated Misery Recordings.

Working with Year of Desolation/Prime Specimen guitarist/studio engineer John Hehman at Bang Studios, this first recording with new drummer Dave Dalton behind the skins has captured YELLOWTOOTH's unique brand of heavy metal, incorporating styles from doom and sludge to a sonic cacophony of speed metal. Still hidden in the band's songwriting are elements hinting of southern stoked riffs and rhythms, venturing into exciting new musical territory that needs to be heard in its entirety.

In the coming months YELLOWTOOTH plans on sporadic live performances to showcase Burning the Illusion, and to continue perfecting new material for an upcoming EP. When is that going to emerge from the aether? Good question...

BIO:

The Yellowtooth journey began in 2008 when bassist/vocalist Peter Clemens (Invasion, Skullview, Sea of Tranquillity) joined forces with Chronic Disorder's seasoned veterans Ed Kribs (drums) and Henry McGinnis (guitar/vocals), striking the new band's first notes in the basement of a home built in 1900. Thus begun an uncharted march to play their brand of sludge, doom, and heavy metal for the unsuspecting masses, only to have the reality of life step in and try to block their progress.

Taking influences from Orange Goblin, Clutch, Weedeater, COC, Xysma and Black Sabbath, by 2009 the trio conjured up a 4-song demo showcasing the band's potential. The following year, Yellowtooth unleashed the debut full-length album, Disgust, and roughly five years later churned out the second opus, Crushed by the Wheels of Progress, which showed a bit of progressiveness and some maturation.

In 2018, drummer Ed Kribs left the band and was replaced by Dave Dalton, a dedicated musician from Central Indiana who has spent time playing drums with Ratzkrieg, Legion, and Demons of Wrathica. A high caliber artist, Dave has elevated the band's sound and has become a vital piece of the machinery.

BLOODBEAT RELEASE NEW SINGLE, "RIGOR MORTIS"

PRESS RELEASE:

German Berlin-based death/thrash metal band Bloodbeat released a new single and music video Rigor Mortis. The track is taken from their upcoming second studio album 'Process of Extinction' which is set to be released by Finnish record label Inverse Records on June 18th 2021. The album is mixed & recorded by Marc Wüstenhagen at

Dailyhero Recordings Berlin and it's mastered by Gunnar Refardt.

WATCH Rigor Mortis music video: https://youtu.be/IZgciDGDZmc

The band comments:

"The song "Rigor Mortis" is not only explicitly about the so-called "cadaveric rigidity".

Among other things, the scene is set in the world between life and the afterlife. It is about a psychopath who has already done all the atrocities in his miserable life. However, he did not start the bad acts on his own. His body is controlled by a demon. He tries to chase the demon out of himself by massacring himself. In doing so, the evil within him continues to try to seduce him and take him over. His goal is to get rid of him in some way. Only his death can defeat him and at some point the huge suffering has a dark end.

The video was shot and produced by Bloodbeat completely on their own. Post production was done by frontman Jason Kuhn."

BLOODBEAT is a death/thrash metal band from Berlin, Germany. With heavy riffs, brutal guitar sounds and crushing drumming that resembles a steamroller, the band manages to reproduce the ultimate Death Metal sound of the 90's and also add their own character. The brute voice of singer and guitarist Jason adds the right shell to the rough instrumental core of the music. With recognizable death metal riffs and hacking and brutal thrash beats, the band puts a huge pressure wave in the audience's ears. Bloodbeat manage, despite their audible influences like Napalm Death and Slayer, to create their own recognizable and distinctive style of music that immediately throws the listener into the past of 90's Death Metal. Lyrically reveal and reproduce Bloodbeat atrocities and abysses of humanity.

DEAD WORLD RECLAMATION RELEASE "AURA OF INIQUITY"

PRESS RELEASE:

Dead World Reclamation

Aura of Iniquity

Independent

23 April 2021

With each new year, we can at least count on the advent of new music and material from bands that are new to us that ends up making the days and weeks go by with greater ease. To that end, Tempe, Arizona-based technical melodic death metallers Dead World Reclamation and their upcoming sophomore album, Aura of Iniquity, out April 23rd, should prove to be an exciting addition to the best death metal that will come out in 2021.

Active since 2017, the band has previously released their first album, Sentient, in October of 2017. Fast-forward to 2021, and Dead World Reclamation has grown into an entirely different beast ready to take over the world. Although still a melodic death metal band at heart, the group's current form is greatly enhanced by technically inclined playing and orchestral layers paired with streamlined catchy songwriting. As always, they continue to stay true to their roots by infusing their complex take on melodic death metal with a metric ton of impenetrable heaviness and skull splintering brutality added in throughout Aura of Iniquity.

Dead World Reclamation - Aura of Iniquity will strongly appeal to fans of Wretched, The Black Dahlia Murder, The Faceless, Inferi, and Alterbeast.

Dead World Reclamation comments

"We’re five guys who love both Death Metal and a good story, therefore Aura of Iniquity is a series of short stories told in Death Metal format. Roaming through tales of dark bargains with otherworldly beings made for power untold, forests where gargantuan spiders dictate the law of the land, to necromancy told from the viewpoint of the body possessed. While our musical influences are definitely reflected in our songs, we tried to approach this album with the mindset of just creating music we’d love to listen to. We feel we’ve grown immensely since our first release, Sentient, and hope you all enjoy the album as much as we enjoyed creating it."

BELLE MORTE RELEASE "CRIME OF PASSION"

PRESS RELEASE:

"Crime of Passion"

1. Overture

2. Who are you

3. If only you knew

4. To get her

5. Beauty and the beast

6. My little demon

7. Broken things

8. Beauty meant to kill

9. Lace

10. My legacy

11. Bonus: To get her (acoustic)

About the album:

"The album is called “Crime of Passion’ and it’s inspired by John Fowles’s novel “The Collector”. It tells a coherent story which started as an unhealthy obsession and stalking and resulted in murder, both from the side of the murderer and his victim. The idea of having a full-length album appeared when we were working on the EP. We had enough material for it at that moment, but at the same time didn’t want to rush and really wanted it to be well-thought and professional, so it took us 2 years to complete it. In general “Crime of Passion” has a way darker sound and vibes, compared to our first EP “Game on”. The story we tell here doesn’t have a happy ending, so you are witnessing how the situation unfolds, getting more and more intense and having a tragic finale. Musically “Crime of Passion” has more complicated arrangements, a lot of djent/progressive and even some black metal elements and a very diverse material. For example, “Beauty meant to kill” doesn’t have guitars at all, relying heavily on powerful symphonic parts with electronic instruments and percussion.

“If only you knew” has a lot of prog metal and some djent elements. Guitars became heavier and more sophisticated, especially in “My Little Demon” and “Beauty and the Beast”. We are using a lot of different elements on the “Crime of passion” and we made it all sound consistent and not trivial at the same time. Each element used reveals different nuances, making it all sound like a mono rock-opera, with leitmotivs and instrumental parts, which are there not for the sake of being there, but for the sake of strengthening presence effect, shedding more light on the emotions of the characters.

Biography:

Belle Morte is a musical project from Belarus, Minsk, playing dark symphonic metal with gothic/progressive flavor and melancholic vibe. The first single “Mercy” was released on Dec 9, 2017, accompanied by a music video later on. Debut band’s EP “Game On” was released in 2018. 4 tracks listed on the EP have asymmetric songwriting structure and jarring dynamic jumps from balladry to metallic symphonic bluster. Later on, Belle Morte collaborated with Norwegian melodic death metal band “Addendum” and released “Mistakable Monster” single together. The song is about trying to find back to the ones you have loved and lost. A tale about two sisters, locked in different worlds. After EP the band focused on producing a full-length conceptual album inspired by John Fowles’s “The Collector”. During this period “My Legacy”, “To Get Her” and “Lace” singles were released. The second Belle Morte’s music video was shot for the “Lace” single. Album named “Crime of Passion” tells a coherent story which started as an unhealthy obsession and stalking and resulted in murder, both from the side of the murderer and his victim. The idea behind Belle Morte is playing on contrasts – in music, lyrics and visual imaginary. It’s about seeing its own beauty in disturbing things, ugly things, and, vice versa, seeing the bad side in nice things which might not be that obvious at the first sight.

HADIT RELEASE "WITH JOY AND ARDOUR THROUGH THE INCOMMENSURABLE PATH"

PRESS RELEASE:

Elusive Italian mystical dark death metal conjurors HADIT are about to return after six years of silence with their long awaited debut album "With Joy and Ardour Through the Incommensurable Path", slated for an early May 2021 release in collaboration with Caligari Records and Italian label Terror from Hell Records.

The towering new album is an obfuscating spell of dark cosmological death metal destruction shrouded in crushing dissonance, otherworldly atmospheres, and an aura of profound mysticism and esotericism. With death metal ritualized and used almost as an aural rite of passage to a higher order, on the devastating new opus the recluse Italian duo explore concepts pertaining to time, cyclicality, fatality, and to death as the true engine and ultimate motivator of life, and submit to the symbolism of chaos to access the higher knowledge and order which comes through it. Inspired by ancient black and death metal forces like Inquisition, Incantation, Morbid Angel, Immolation, and Archgoat as well as by occult scriptures found in ancient monotheistic doctrines and theology, "With Joy and Ardour Through the Incommensurable Path" is a supernatural extreme metal crucible that plumbs the darkest depths of sonic ruin and of deviant arcane esotericism to harness the primordial order from chaos and the inaccessible truths on mankind's true nature and existence that it harbors.

Leading up the early May 2021 release, the track “A Digression and Her Eternal Domain Above the Atmosphere“ has been Premiered by Scene Point Blank, with the renowned metal blog stating that “The majority of this album thrashes and seethes, but it has some comparatively subdued doomy moments as well. Personally, I dug the shifting rhythmic structures, the way individual tracks seemed to do any number of different things while they played out, and the manner in which certain melodic motifs are utilized to hold things together“. You can check out the track and read the full feature HERE.

WRATHEON RELEASE "BLACK THRASH MASS" EP

PRESS RELEASE:

The true spirit of metal is found in the chill of night beneath a star-studded sky, miles from the infringing pollution of human society. It flares into life beneath the lights of the concert hall where the noise and unity hold the darkness of the world at bay. It’s in a last warrior’s embrace before a final, hopeless yet glorious combat and in an exhilarating flight of the imagination or the perfect dream. It is the companion voice in times of stark, unbelievable pain and the steel of defiance when you hang above a chasm of despair. It is the endless forest, the towering mountain, solitude and strength, adrenaline and power, ice and fire and the perfectly chosen notes that speak the language of the soul.

All of that spirit cries out from Wratheon’s Black Thrash Mass; a seething entity of venomous riffs, a rush of icy melodies and snarling, impassioned vocals. The raging flames of thrash metal collide with the bitter cold of black metal’s vast vistas and explode in a blinding cataclysm of metallic intensity, while the guitars sing out those essential notes, infused with the eternal feeling that you can understand but never explain. The sheer exhilaration of ‘A Fire Burns’, the glorious release of ‘In Seance’ and the depth and poignancy of ‘Life’ provide the foundations of an EP which positively radiates an accomplished brilliance and crackles with the excitement of huge potential and greatness to come. Behind the painted, shrouded face of Wratheon lies a deep and unquestionable understanding of what metal really is and how it connects to the hearts of those who worship at its altars.

Wratheon first announced his intent to release this vehement strike back in the summer of 2020, but every hour of the wait for its demonic detonation has been worth it. When the five songs of raw, bloody and beautiful black thrash are raging against deceit and oppression nothing else matters. For these precious minutes there is only metal, there is only Wratheon, there is only the glory of the Black Thrash Mass. Available from March 26th this is absolutely unmissable.
