VIOLENT OPPOSITION RELEASE "TRANSCENDENT"

PRESS RELEASE:

Artist: VIOLENT OPPOSITION

Album: Transcendent

Released April 5, 2015

Fast, taunting, cartoonish, brain-twisting compositions layered with screams, grunts, growls, and barks.

Violent Opposition is from California. Started Sept 2013. The foundation is rooted in early earache grind and Frank Zappa. But, west Coast hardcore! And, Canadian Fastcore! I love it!

Lyrics have mostly been a lot of self-help shit, sociopolitical, observations of behavior and culture, what you might expect from a Zappa/grind project...

Damian-vocals and strings- has played in numerous bands such as Bred On Deception, Bad Acid Trip, Lack Of Interest, Progeria, Self Inflicted, Strains of the Apocalypse, Glob, Lie Still, Paranoid Freak Out, DeathGlam, Bro Jogan, and many more.

Adam-drums- has played in xTomHanx, Chrch, Plague Widow, Little Tents, Boats, and many more

FRACTAL UNIVERSE RELEASE VIDEO FOR "A CLOCKWORK EXPECTATION"

PRESS RELEASE:

On June 25th, Fractal Universe will release their new album, The Impassable Horizon, via Metal Blade Records. For a first preview of the record, a video for the new single, "A Clockwork Expectation" (directed by Vincent Tournaud), can be viewed at: metalblade.com/fractaluniverse - where The Impassable Horizon can be pre-ordered on CD, vinyl, as well as digitally. Fans can also visit Fractal Universe's official store for additional vinyl and more: shop.fractaluniverseband.com

Shot at Gouffre de Poudrey - France's largest equipped cave - Fractal Universe had this to say about the video for "A Clockwork Expectation": "We wanted this music video to be shot in a grandiose natural environment. It was a unique and unreal experience to spend two days all alone in the extreme conditions - seventy meters underground, 7°C - of this otherworldly beautiful location. In the middle section, we used UV light and customized the instruments accordingly, to give that part a particular dark vibe! The body-painting parts contributing to that atmosphere were designed by Kazim 2C."

With 2019's Rhizomes Of Insanity, France's Fractal Universe created one of the most musically, lyrically, and emotionally complex and compelling progressive metal works of the twenty-first century. The band toured the record hard, joining heavyweights Obscura in February/March of 2020, making for one of the last tours in the world pre-pandemic, and in doing so, sated their faithful while winning legions of new followers. With its successor, The Impassable Horizon, they have gone even deeper, effortlessly following the trajectory they set themselves on to create an album that is riveting from start to finish. "We wanted to keep developing our musical personality and the natural sound we managed to get on 'Rhizomes'," says drummer Clément Denys. "It's a very versatile and complex album. Musically speaking, you will find catchy songs which are really direct, progressive and mysterious ballads with epic saxophone solos, and technical songs with intricate riffing." Elaborates vocalist/guitarist/saxophonist Vince Wilquin, "despite the record being even more diverse, dynamic and including more clean vocals than its predecessor, the overall atmosphere is also slightly darker and more melancholic." And with the introduction of Wilquin's newly honed saxophone skills to their live set, alongside working with Gojira's Christian Andreu on their stage scenery and production, once the band return to the road they are sure to be an unmissable act.

With the first riffs and ideas for The Impassable Horizon emerging in November 2018, before Rhizomes was even released, composition for the whole record took about a year, with the last six months before entering the studio in May of 2020 dedicated to vocal preproduction/arrangements and finalizing the guitar and saxophone solos. Drums were recorded at the band's own professional recording studio - Boundless Production Studio - in Florange, France, while the other instruments were tracked in their personal home studios. It was overseen by producer Flavien Morel, who has been working with Fractal Universe since the beginning and really understands the band's vision. "The sessions were good," says Denys. "We were not in a rush. This was the first record we entirely tracked in our own studios, so we were for example able to spend two complete days on sound-checking the drums, which was really comfortable." The most demanding aspect of tracking was the vocals, which took as long to record as all of the other instrumentation combined. "Flavien really encouraged me to bring the vocal production to the next level: there are chorus sections where there are about thirty tracks of backing vocals, with every line quad-tracked, to make it sound really massive and 'chorus-y'." With mixing being Wilquin's favorite part of the realization process, the point at which the record really starts to come alive, he was happy to work closely with Morel, and the finished product is everything they wanted it to be. "It feels like the natural evolution of our band sound, keeping our distinctive trademarks and incorporating new sounds and ideas," says Wilquin, and adds Denys, "we hope the new album will reach new fans and please our current ones, which have been amazingly supportive even during the pandemic, and that it will bring the band to the next level."

KILL THE IMPOSTER RELEASE "DONGAN HILLS" VIDEO

PRESS RELEASE:

Florida’s deathcore act Kill The Imposter have a new single out “Dongan Hills” in support of their upcoming album “The Violence Sessions”. Those who have seen KTI live know that the band brings non-stop energy and that vocalist Johnny Nobody can be seen swinging from the rafters or jumping from bar to bar, but this vigor isn’t restrained to the live show, it can be felt on their recordings and in their music videos and this new single is no exception.

“Dongan Hills” is the second track off the pumping new album, it is named after a place in Staten Island, NY that Nobody would take a train to and try to escape life, but he’d always end up getting in more trouble.

The music video for “Dongan Hills” can be watched on YouTube - https://youtu.be/EPTQkrxai10

“The Violence Sessions” are the third release from KTI, following 2019’s “The Decimation” and 2020's “A Strain Of Agony” EP. Reflecting back to earlier work, Nobody quotes about the band’s evolution:

“I think the four of us come from not insanely different places, but different enough that we had to create our own sound. I mean, we didn’t invent the wheel for sure, but I think me trying to put my NYHC roots in everything helped guide the boat a bit. So at the beginning very simple beat-down riffs moved to a now more guided route. I mean we had to figure out who we were and weren’t.”

KTI don’t half-ass anything, each song they write starts with a riff and gets hammered to precision until they can wait to play it in a set. According to them, “when we get those goosebumps listening back to demos - that’s when we know it's ready for the masses to enjoy.”

Angry and heavy, Kill The Imposter is recommended listening for fans of Bodysnatcher, Emmure, and Thy Art is Murder.

“The Violence Sessions” comes out on May 28, 2021.

FOREVER AUTUMN RELEASE "HAIL THE FOREST DARK"

PRESS RELEASE:

Forever Autumn

Hail the Forest Dark

3 September 2021

Avant-Garde entity Forever Autumn will be releasing their 4th masterpiece Hail the Forest Dark on September 3rd 2021. The album features a guest appearance from Aaron Stainthorpe of the legendary doom band My Dying Bride.

Mastermind Autumn Ni Dubhghail comments on the album: “This work is intended as a temporary departure from traditional Forever Autumn. It is a way to highlight the Black and Doom so underlyingly present in all Forever Autumn work. This is not a new direction, but an artistic expression. Forever Autumn remains dedicated to the vehicles of Acoustic Doom, Blackened Death Folk, et alia.  Thank you for your continued support.”

Forever Autumn’s humble genius Autumn Ni Dubhghail abandons any and all prenotions of tradition. Intertwining elements from a vast swath of genres, this acoustic doom outfit is inspired by ancient Celtic, Slavic, and other European folk music, Forever Autumn masterfully crafts a raw sound that breaks down any generic barriers or borders.

Like seedlings scattered throughout the forest by the mere forces of nature, Forever Autumn’s imaginative sound grows with an organic sense of whimsy, cultivated within the vast influences of our megacosm.

Ni Dubhghaill began composing Forever Autumn's haunting music in 2000 and unleashed the band's self-titled debut in 2001. Since then, Forever Autumn released seven more studio offerings and has appeared on numerous compilations. Ni Dubhghaill plays guitar, balalaika, bodhran, doom drum, rattle, and cello across Forever Autumn's recordings, in addition to contributing a wide breadth of vocal expression that ranges from melodic singing to screams, howls, and chants. Cellist Jon McGrath joined Forever Autumn in 2008 and has been a stalwart complement ever since; together, he and Ni Dubhghaill create music that is, as Doom-Metal.com put it, "elegant in its simplicity, fragile in its beauty."

Forever Autumn's new recording "Hail the Forest Dark"  continues the band's enchanted musical tradition. The EP puts forth an elegance that cannot be matched or rivaled by any musical contemporary, taking fans on an adventure that is rife with excitement, drama, and unbridled craftsmanship.

ECLIPSER RELEASE "PAGES" EP + NEW TRACK "TO NEVER WAKE AGAIN"

PRESS RELEASE:

Eclipser’s “Pages” is a dark and brooding sojourn through dissonant soundscapes that write with negativity and melody. The EP primarily resides in the black metal realm however, Eclipser also writes using techniques that are found in death metal, and even a bit of grindcore and maintain a formulaic style. According to guitarist/vocalist Ryan Menard, he personally strives to master what he does rather than trying to do it all.

Today, the band presents their first single from “Pages”. Entitled “To Never Wake Again”, the track is two and half minutes into the depths of uncertainty while enjoying both a pristine and bludgeoning experience of extreme metal.

"To Never Wake Again depicts the life-denying voice of reason that manifests internally when one’s existence is reduced to meaningless suffering. A depressive mentality that justifies taking the ultimate easy way out, offering the afflicted the suggestion of a painless solution. This song is the lowest point of the record, with punishing riffs and an overall negative atmosphere that builds towards a soulful and cathartic guitar solo. In short, we’re bringing the bad vibes." adds Menard.

“To Never Wake Again” can be heard via its premiere on TheCirclePit YouTube channel HERE.

“Pages” is harsh and succinct, the five tracks make up for a total runtime of under 15 minutes, it was produced by Eclipser; mixed by Mike Raymond of Reverence Audio, and mastered by Topon Das (Fuck The Facts) at Apartment 2 Recording. The EP artwork was done by Misanthropic-Art. It is the fourth release from the band following Pathos (2019), Promo (2018), and the 2017 Demo.

Eclipser was founded in 2017 by Ryan Menard (guitars/vocals) and Christopher Joyal (drums), they are recommended for fans of Ulcerate, and Deathspell Omega.

The entire EP releases on May 28, 2021.

HAISSEM RELEASE "PHILOSOFIEND"

PRESS RELEASE:

Co-release Satanath Records with Exhumed Records: new album "Philosofiend" of Ukrainian melodic black/death metal band Haissem is out on March 27th, 2021!

HAISSEM was formed in 2014, the debut album was released in 2016. Haissem is a one-man band of Andrey V. Tollock, sometimes session musicians help during the recording. The team currently has 6 releases. A year has passed since the release of Haissem's latest album to date, "Kuhaghan Tyyn", and now the mastermind of the project, Andrey Tollock, is ready to please us with another portion of melodic black, richly flavored with melodic death and even a little thrash metal. Andrey says that when he'd created new material, he focused on the aggressiveness and sharpness of the tracks, to prevent the possibility of repeating the sound of the predecessor of "Philosofiend", where a very significant emphasis was placed on the atmosphere in the sound through a large number of synthesizer parts and the involvement of session musicians. As a result, "Philosofiend" turned out to be sharp and aggressive, but this did not affect the quality of the material and performance in any way. On this release, Haissem will stand before the audience in a new, but at the same time characteristic and recognizable appearance. It is strongly recommended for fans of early In Flames, Old Man's Child and fans of aggressive and melodic music in general. Recorded, mixed & mastered at Vetkin Records Studio. Session backing vocals by Adam Seven. Artwork by Mary Kankava (Hellcatfairyart). Layout by Aleksey Satanath.

Line-up:

Andrey V. Tollock - everything

Track-list:

01. An Inspiration For My Inner Carnifex

02. Gore Painted Vacuum

03. Bliss Apocryphal

04. Despising The Infidels

05. La Confesiо́n Del Diablo Blanco
