RUNESCARRED TO RELEASE "THE DISTANT INFINITE" EXPANDED VERSION

PRESS RELEASE:

Metallers Runescarred announce the upcoming release of the expanded edition of their 2020 album, ‘The Distant Infinite’, featuring five additional acoustic tracks. Originally forming in 2017, the quintet from Austin Texas have made their mark with their evolving discography including the critically acclaimed 2018 E.P., “We Are”, and single “Being God”. The re-release celebrates Runescarred’s epic album featuring some new, dynamic, musical offerings.

“We are extremely excited to give this record the full attention it deserves. It is a complete artistic statement and the additional acoustic tracks provide a glimpse into what we are capable of going forward. We hope everyone digs it as much as we do!

They are a dynamic mix of brand new material, reimagined tunes from the album, and a tasty Elton John cover thrown in for good measure. They cultivate a side of us we did not know we had!” ~ Runescarred

Combining epic, soaring clean and guttural, harsh vocals with powerful instrumentation, Runescarred deliver a dynamic sound. The quintet’s composition draws upon grounded metal attributes but elevates their music through incorporating their distinctive identity. Whether delivering a hard-hitting metal track, or delving into a softer acoustic piece, Runescarred pour utter emotion and storytelling into the heart of their sound. There is even an element of theatricality to their sound that elevates the atmosphere. From ludicrously intense shredding and melodic riffs to ethereal acoustic melodies, their music reaches another level.

Runescarred bring an exhilarating contribution to the world of metal, developing their music through inspired compositional techniques and performances. This re-release with new material celebrates their achievements and provides a glimpse into the band’s continuing evolution. Stay tuned for more updates!

BETRAYAL RELEASE "DISORDER REMAINS" ALBUM

PRESS RELEASE:

Betrayal

Disorder Remains

Rising Nemesis Records

16 April 2021

German modern death metal faction Betrayal is excited to announce the release of their second album, Disorder Remains. Set for release on April 16th via Rising Nemesis Records.

Although the term modern death metal hasn't become a "dirty word" per se, oftentimes the connotation implies something that imitates solely, while often not offering much of an experience that is solely their own. Like their fellow labelmates Rising Nemesis Records labelmates Pestilent Reign, Betrayal adeptly draws from a mix of old-school death metal, thrashy death metal, technical and progressive death metal, and a bit of blackened death metal to create some seriously awesome and well-written death metal. The end product is something that's solely Betrayal's, and it's a damn good take on death metal that you'll certainly want to hear.

Betrayal - Disorder Remains will strongly appeal to fans of Misery Index, Revocation, Death, Behemoth, and Decapitation at their grooviest.

Betrayal comments on the release of Disorder Remains

"Regarding sound quality as well as songwriting, we definitely reached the next step with Disorder Remains. The entire writing process was new for us since a  part of the record was finished in the studio where we could focus on our concept and implement a lot of spontaneous ideas. We tried to combine a gloomy and powerful atmosphere which can be transferred live as well as on CD. It was recorded at the Unleash The Sound Studios while sounds for guitars and bass were created by no other than Sky Van Hoff.  With this decision, we try to underline the intensity of emotions throughout our songs  with a brutal sound."

About The Band

Founded in Aschaffenburg in 2005, BETRAYAL soon released 'Of Lust And Loss' in 2007, an EP that stirred up the local underground, sold out on the day of release, and showed the potential of the young band around drummer Manuel Caccamese.

After several line-up changes, BETRAYAL found themselves together again in 2014. With Alex Burkl on rhythm guitar/vocals and Philipp Gherig on bass, a foundation was finally laid to build a golden future on. They quickly drew attention to themselves again with a demo in 2015.

In 2016, eleven years after the band was founded, BETRAYAL released their first album 'Infinite Circles' on Transcending Records. They were able to gain many new fans and received nothing but great reviews. About 200k Streams on Spotify can confirm that.

With their new addition Bastian Kraus on Lead Guitar in January 2019, they not only got fresh blood but also musical quality and creativity on board.

On numerous festivals or as touring support act for bands such as Belphegor, Suffocation, Hate, Cannibal Corpse, Thy Art is Murder, Asphyx or Gruesome, they shared the stage with a lot of notable bands and were able to expand their fanbase successfully.

ENGRAVER RELEASE "BEHIND" EP

PRESS RELEASE:

Old school thrash metal!

“BEHIND” embodies who we are and what we like in terms of the music we listen and want to produce. It represents the complexity of the human soul divided between pure dread and doubt, between a rational being and a beast. It is impossible to know what lays “BEHIND” each one of us.

UNFLESH RELEASE "INHUMATION"

PRESS RELEASE:

Unflesh

Inhumation

Self-Released

2 April 2021

New Hampshire-based blackened melodic death metallers Unflesh are excited to announce their second full-length, Inhumation. Set for release on Friday, April 2nd. The band partnered with artist Junki Sakuraba (Seven Spires) once again to create the killer album art for Inhumation. The album was mixed and mastered by renowned musician and engineer V. Santura (Triptykon, Dark Fortress, etc.) at Woodshed Studios in Landshut, Germany.

Inhumation comes a mere two years after the launch of their well-received 2018 debut album "Savior", yet it showcases an incredible amount of new growth from a group already brimming with abundant talent as is. The group's new album Inhumation also sees guitarist/vocalist Ryan Beevers (ex-Solium Fatalis) aided by two new members: bassist Orion Hubbard (ex-Excrecor) and drummer Jeff Saltzman (Aversed, Allegaeon (live), Continuum (live), ex-Solium Fatalis).

Regarding the musical direction on Inhumation, Ryan Beevers says: "For this album, there was a lot more focus on developing a lingering dark atmosphere throughout the record with the music and lyrics to create a more immersive listening experience. The album is a lot more dynamic and introduces some new elements into the Unflesh sound, all to enhance the mood within the album."

Unflesh - Inhumation will strongly appeal to fans of Arsis, Dissection, Emperor, Necrophagist, Necrophobic, Naglfar, Tribulation, Obscura, and Revocation.

Unflesh vocalist/guitarist Ryan Beevers comments

“Inhumation delves into the concept of desensitization and losing one's soul or losing one's humanity so to speak. The title itself is used in a metaphorical sense, as the actual definition of the word “Inhumation” is the action or practice of burying the dead. For album purposes, the title is used on a more spiritual and emotional level. Each track on the album is a bit of a meditation on different aspects of the primary concept. When the listener gets to the last song on the album, the totality of the album will have taken form.

I was extremely focused on binding together the riffs and lyrics to channel a certain atmosphere I had in my head initially when writing the songs. The goal was to create a more immersive listening experience. I think this goal is also reflected in how the album sounds and in the artwork. Everyone involved worked very hard on this record. We are looking forward to sharing this album with the world and to finally document the next step in the Unflesh sound with this second full-length album.”

AT THE GATES RELEASE VIDEO FOR "THE PARADOX"

PRESS RELEASE:

Today Swedish melodic death metal pioneers At The Gates are debuting the second single/video off their upcoming album “The Nightmare Of Being”, to be released July 2nd, 2021 via Century Media Records.

Check out the track “The Paradox” in a video-clip directed by Patric Ullaeus / www.rEvolver.se (Arch Enemy, In Flames, Dimmu Borgir, etc.) here: https://youtu.be/PZPvry4H9N0

At The Gates vocalist Tomas Lindberg Redant commented about “The Paradox” and its video as follows:

"Humanity is the biggest paradox. We as humans always want justification for the big things: death, the meaning of life, etc. Our knowledge of being mortals drives us away from being human, hence the paradox. We invent defense mechanisms to protect us from the thought of death, religion, different –isms, etc.

This first time our producer Jens Bogren heard this song, he said “This is a monster!”. It touches on some core parts of the At The Gates sound, but builds further, on top of that, some classic NWOBHM/Mercyful Fate vibes thrown in for good measure. It is a death metal song, but has its progressive moments. Enjoy!

This was a very fun video to record, as we tried to create most of the “special effects” in an analog way, and not just to be added in the editing. Hence we were drenched in tons of crushed coal and soil, which took over a week and a lot of showers to get out of our hair, haha. We really wanted an oppressive, apocalyptic emotion for this video. And Patric Ullaeus, being the master that he is, went all the way to make that happen!"

SWALLOW THE SUN ANNOUNCE LIVE ALBUM

PRESS RELEASE:

Today, Finnish doom stars Swallow the Sun announce their first ever live album “20 Years Of Gloom, Beauty And Despair – Live in Helsinki“! It will be released on July 30th, 2021 via Century Media Records.

"Finally some good news after a year of cancellations and shitshow! We managed to play only 10 of these special 20th anniversary gigs before the whole world shut down in March 2020 and the rest of the tour got cancelled. Luckily we filmed and recorded one of the gigs, which we now release as our very first live album as we wait to be able to get back on stages again. Enjoy!“, comments Mikko Kotamäki.

About the production he states, “We played the whole „Songs from the North II“ with a string quartet—comprised of very professional musicians, two of whom played on our previous album and appeared with us on the 70000 Tons of Metal cruise in 2018. For the first time, we also asked our fans on social media to vote for their favorite songs from each album. We then played the most-voted songs from every album.“

„20 Years Of Gloom, Beauty And Despair – Live in Helsinki“ will be available as Ltd. 2CD+DVD Digipak, Gatefold 3LP+DVD and as digital album. All physical formats can be pre-ordered HERE as of now: https://swallowthesun.lnk.to/20YearsOfGloomBeautyAndDespair-LiveInHelsinki?fbclid=IwAR03L-ImPLJ-ae04z11BmJos6SbtYhRvriXEEWlqoSPrbV7k_DkaGp9z_Kk

ALLUVIAL RELEASE "SARCOMA"

PRESS RELEASE:

Progressive, technical death metal collective ALLUVIAL have debuted their highly anticipated sophomore album, "Sarcoma," today with Nuclear Blast. The band marks the release of the long awaited record with a new visualizer for their vicious new single 'The Putrid Sunrise', which can be viewed now!

Purchase/Stream "Sarcoma": http://www.nuclearblast.com/alluvial-sarcoma

Guitarist Wes Hauch comments on the single:

"This song is basically about the back and forth of being stuck in a rut with drugs and booze. It bounces back and forth between high and sick, and the pointlessness that happens in between. I’d venture to say that most people can relate to giving into their beast. There’s a certain type of hedonic enjoyment in becoming the beast, but the beast is always there laughing at you once he’s had his fun."

ALLUVIAL's second full-length album, "Sarcoma," examines people's connection with pain and the hardships that bind us.

“Sarcoma is a type of cancer that grows from connective tissue in the body,” says guitarist Wes Hauch. “At the end of working on everything, Kevin [Muller] pinpointed that each song on the record was about the different perils that happen at the hand of one man to another. These perils live in our connections to one another, so 'Sarcoma' became an apt title.”

As Hauch began writing the record, he took notice of Muller due to his time in SUFFOCATION. After hearing his vocals on a demo, everything simply clicked, and Kevin joined the band. Fast brothers, it fulfilled a long-term goal. “The Deep Longing for Annihilation was supposed to have vocals, but I couldn’t find the right guy,” he adds. “Some people possess a rare inability to doubt themselves. Kevin can marry that into performances. The day I heard his vocals over the Sarcoma demos was a special one. We’ve become brothers.”

After writing and producing demos at home, Alluvial cut guitars, bass, and vocals with engineer John Douglass (MR. BUNGLE, AMON AMARTH) in Atlanta.
