CONCILIUM TO RELEASE "DESECRATION"

PRESS RELEASE:

Sentient Ruin joins Portuguese atmospheric raw black/death metal necromancers Concilium in the release of their first proper debut album “Desecration”, a churning spectral emanation of total and agonizing death exhaling at the edge of a decaying void. If you ever thought the concept of "depressive", "sad", or "atmospheric" war metal was just an abstract thought, please read on….

Like the bastard child of Portal, Beherit, and Black Cilice, "Desecration" levitates from pure darkness with a miasma of tortured lamentations, serpentine whispers and suffocated screams radiating from the innermost depths of torment, while an incessant outflow of sepulchral lo-fi raw black/death metal murk reverberates through the abandoned pits of buried temples and lost sepulchers materializing a truly unsettling and ominous aural nightmare. The band's masterful texturing of decaying and sulphureous black/death metal with subterranean aphotic atmospheres and a diseased sense of occult ritualism creates a lightless aural twilight that embraces the listener like a disembodied disease, giving away way to a blood-freezing (and at times even moving) out of body experience.

Leading up the release iconic underground metal blog Last Rites has revealed part of the album’s sound via an exclusive premiere of the opening track “From the Chalice”, remarking that the track “is but a gateway to the world of punishing barbaric madness that Concilium have sculpted from the ruins of crumbling nightmares” and that “the record oozes with spiritual, mental, and aural toxicity that will draw plenty of cross-appeal for fans of the suffocating horrorscapes of Portal, the eerie orthodoxy of Deathspell Omega, the twisted brutality of Cryptae, the primitive doom ritualism of Beherit and Void Meditation Cult, and the raw catatonia of Black Cilice and Pa Vesh En - the crude wine that results on Desecration is one that is bitter, intoxicating, and, above all, heavier than sin.” - you can read their full feature and check out the track HERE.

"Desecration" is scheduled to arrive on July 2 2021 on vinyl, cassette tape and digital formats via Sentient Ruin Worldwide, and all formats are now preordeabale from the label´s Bandcamp and webshop.

UNENDLICH TO RELEASE "PARADOX OF A BROKEN WORLD"

PRESS RELEASE:

Unendlich

Paradox Of A Broken World

Self-Released

9 July 2021

After two years of brooding, Maryland-based black metal outfit Unendlich have unleashed their fury upon the masses with their ferocious new LP - Paradox of a Broken World. Paradox of a Broken World juxtaposes the impending doom of a world coming undone at its seams with the consistent need for humans to deny their own reality.

Inspired by one-man Black Metal bands, Unendlich is the sole creation of multi-instrumentalist Michael Connors. Unendlich’s style retains the chaotic aggression and brutality of black metal tempered with Connors’ signature melodic edge, recalling the halcyon days of extreme metal.

Beginning in 2010,  the haunting and melodic offerings of Unendlich quickly gained attention among the cult of the underground, solidifying their place among the black metal underground. The theme of the first album, “Monarch of the Damned,” focused on the blindness of power that leads to short-term destruction but paradoxical long-term evolution of humanity.

Never shy to explore within the genre, the aptly titled, "Scales of Existence," continued the band's legacy. This sophomore effort is a journey through a nihilistic existence, the vices used to cope, and the resulting aftermath.

In true black metal tradition, the third album, “Thanatophobia,” reveals religion as a mechanism to satisfy the human ego’s desire to attribute meaning to one’s existence and pacify the feelings of discomfort in the unknowns of life and death.

The upcoming fourth album, “Paradox of a Broken World,” is an observation of human hypocrisy and absurdity, where denying the realities within society and within oneself accelerates the inevitable destruction of civilization. Recorded during the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns the truth of this album became ever apparent. A true materialization of the not-so-imaginary world being created, the album either by coincidence or not, is in tune with our dissonant times.

ETERNAL SILENCE RELEASE "ANCIENT SPIRIT" SINGLE

PRESS RELEASE:

Italian symphonic metallers Eternal Silence will be releasing their new album "Timegate Anathema" on October 8, 2021 via Rockhots Records. Recorded at The Groove Factory (Udine, Italy) and Line/Out Studio (Milano, Italy) with mixing and mastering by Michele Guaitoli (Visions of Atlantis, Temperance, Kaledon), the full length will feature ten tracks of symphonic and power prog metal plus will see the band introduce new elements and experimentation into their sound. The album goes from power metal songs like "The Way Of Time" and "My Soul Sad Until Death" to heavy and dark ones like "Rain and Red Death Masquerade", passing through the catchy melodies of tracks like "Glide In The Air" and acoustic moments on "Lonely and Firefly". The main theme that inspired the record is the concept of time.

“It has been a long time since our last full length was released, we took our time to make the best songs possible and then the pandemic broke in and forced us to stop and wait for the right time to publish it. But now everything is ready and we can't wait to finally share this with you all.” adds the band.

Today, Eternal Silence reveals the first single "Ancient Spirit", a heavy track that puts together new influences and sounds.

The band explains the song's concept in further detail:

"Born out of the mind of guitarist Enzo Criscuolo, this song is heavy in contents and atmosphere along with feeling spiritual with lyrics written by our bassist Alessio Sessa. The lake in the pantheistic form that assumes in the song, reveals its mystery and charm as if it was a sleeping God. Beneath the layer of forgetfulness where it lays, hidden like a gem and silent, is an ideal companion, present in every day of our lives and keeps secrets and deep thrusts in its depths, where few dare to look."

The band's current line-up is completed by Alessio Sessa (bass), Andrea Zannin (drums) and Enzo Criscuolo (guitarist).

Since their formation, the band has unleashed three albums and two EPs. 2020's "Renegades" (EP), 2018's "Metamorphosis" (EP), and 2017's "Mastermind Tyranny" were released on Sliptrick Records, and their earlier full-lengths “Raw Poetry” (2013) and “Chasing Chimera” (2015) were released on Underground Symphony Records.

Over the years, the band has been a consistent touring presence in Europe, performing in Germany, Switzerland, France, Czech Republic, Austria, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Italy, and Hungary along with being support for bands such as Temperance, Therion, Haggard, Sound Storm, Blackoustic (Timo Kotipelto (Stratovarius) and Jani Liimatainen (Insomnium)).

DEFORMATORY RELEASE "IN THE EMBERVOID WHERE DEAD STARS REIGNS"

PRESS RELEASE:

Deformatory has been a maelstrom of devastation since 2010, assaulting all in their wake with relentless sonic brutality. This year they are adding to their punishing catalogue with their third album “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon”, which was mixed and mastered by Topon Das (Fuck the Facts) from Apartment 2 Recording along with the artwork done by Paul Gerrard, who is a movie concept designer known for his imagery on Wrath of the Titans, Hellraiser: Origins and Hellboy.

In anticipation of what is sure to be one of the heaviest tech death albums of the year, Deformatory are luring listeners in with the first single “In The Embervoid Where Dead Stars Reign”, which can be heard via its premiere on Bravewords HERE

This is the third full-length album for Deformatory, following the 2011 EP “A Prelude Of…”; the 2013 full-length “In The Wake of Pestilence'' and the 2016 full-length “Malediction”. The nine-track album is divided into three chapters, of which “In The Embervoid Where Dead Stars Reign” is the third song in the second chapter.

Deformatory explains the album’s concept and how the single fits in:

“In our previous album “Malediction”, we explored the truth about Lucifer, who was an angel possessed by a far greater evil entity named Savael. We dove into his awakening and consequences for mankind. Our newest album reveals that Savael was but a mere droid in a complex hierarchy of vile entities, known as The Ce’naxors from a planet called Cyru’xil, whose Grand Arkitekt has an insatiable thirst for destroying life stars.

The single is about the aftermath of planetary consumption and its effect on the multiverse. How death and destruction breed new forms of life, including some unintended consequences for Cyru’xil.”

This massively complex and intriguing album is just the tip of the iceberg for the brutal Ottawa duo. Fans of Cryptopsy, Morbid Angel, and Origin should take note.

The album “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon” will be released on September 3, 2021.

SUFFER YOURSELF RELEASE NEW TRACK "SPIT IN THE CHASM"

PRESS RELEASE:

Funeral doom institution SUFFER YOURSELF conspires with Aesthetic Death to release “Rip Tide”, the band’s third album, on June 25th 2021.

With the new album nearing release this month, Cvlt Nation is hosting the public premiere of an excerpt from the visionary opener, “Spit in the Chasm”. Check it out HERE!

Dark, morose, dirgeful– a maelstrom of intense doom death.

SUFFER YOURSELF have returned – following the acclaimed and respected 2016 release of “Ectoplasm” – with a new album that has taken the band to a new level of composition, construction and expression.

What immediately stands out is the darker death metal tones found within “Rip Tide” – those tones signified in the deathly doom of acts such as Esoteric or Evoken – however, SUFFER YOURSELF create their own space, with the maturity from over a decade of craft and unblinkered vision.

Throughout “Rip Tide” there is an undercurrent of suffocating drone – with all tracks being built upon the claustrophobic foundations of a drone score created by Belarusian artist UGASANIE. From that point the expressive composition adds layers of beautifully dissonant guitar work that has a notable 90s death metal feel to it. Within that there is an almost cinematic scope to the album – with sounds and samples embroidered into the music. The final touch being delivered with a mesmerising cello part – that is wonderfully woven into the tracks and adds such depth. Even though the feel of the album is the same throughout there is a distinct difference between all tracks.

All these elements are brought together, to create a maelstrom, a master class in underground extreme death doom.

SUFFER YOURSELF have crafted a wonderful album and have shown the world that they now sit amongst the best of the extreme doom genre

Album tracklist:

01. Spit in the Chasm

02. Desir de Trepas Maritime (Au Bord de la Mer Je Veux Mourir)

03. Submerging

ARSHENIC TO RELEASE 4 NEW SINGLES

PRESS RELEASE:

Polish female-fronted band Arshenic announced the release of 4 new singles which will be released every month. The first single is already out and can listen at this location https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fG79cA7Aa6U

Each track will differ in style and heaviness, which will not be a surprise for those who have heard Final Collision. Arshenic designs it's own music genre creates a variety of compositions, referring to alternative metal, Nordic folk, dark rock metalcore, or nu-metal, which, while maintaining the average tempo of the songs, combining clean vocals with the addition of screams and growls, gives a heavy, dark, but also very melodic sound of the whole. The new releases are characterized by the use of non-standard time signatures that give the songs a progressive sound. The goal was to create something new that would surprise the listener, but would also follow the path set by the greatest of their genre.

Last year, at the beginning of the pandemic, Arshenic released a cover of "Where did you sleep last night", along with a music video shooted on the cliffs of Polish most cinematic beach. The same year, Ofilia, the band's vocalist, was nominated by an international jury for the Best Clean Vocal 2020 FemMetal - Female Goddesses of Metal award, after which she was awarded first place in this category.

The first song to be released on 4/06/2021 is the Bloodsucker.

Bloodsucker is an energetic, rock-metal track. The beginning of which is inspired by the atmosphere of old-school metal bands such as Motorhead, Alice Cooper, or AC / DC, combined with the melodiousness of nu-metal and contemporary electronics. At the band's climax, the song turns into a progressive ballad with a post-rock vibe, vocals with a classic and musical feel. As a result, we have a one-of-a-kind piece that not only immediately catches the ear, but also surprises with its form.

2.07.21 Extraterrestrial - is a heavy, unpredictable piece with non-standard divisions, for connoisseurs of heavy and strange music. Strong guitars combined with whispers give a psychedelic effect, which increases when it enters another riff, based on djent guitars and the screaming question: did you take your drugs? The heaviness is calmed by a pleasant to the ear, melodic chorus, the lyrics of which refers to abductions by UFOs. It's a song for non-obvious combination fans and seekers of fresh, modern solutions.

6.08.21 Black Goat - a track inspired by progressive metal in the style of Deftones or Katatonia, combined with alternative metal and gutturals in the chorus. For metal fans who like non-standard connections and nostalgic mood. The lyrics of the song tell the story of complicated family relations.

3.09.21 Lucid - progressive meter, multi-layered vocals referring to Nordic folk in the style of bands such as Wardruna or Eivor and catchy chorus with metalcore guitars. The tribal and apocalyptic sound of the song emphasizes the meaning of the song's lyrics question and statement: They will bring us the end...?

FELL HARVEST RELEASE "PALE IN A DYING WORLD"

PRESS RELEASE:

Hailing from Cheyenne, Wyoming, USA, Fell Harvest etch out their place in the world of doom metal. They first introduced themselves to the scene in 2020 with a self-titled EP and are now following it up with a “Pale Light In a Dying World”.

Most of the tracks on this album were written by bassist/vocalist Joseph Fell including the first single “Titanicide”, which also happens to be the album’s opening track. He explains the track in his own words:

“This song is built around a collection of riffs I wrote more than 20 years ago. It has heavy influence from 90s bands like Samael and At The Gates. These riffs sat homeless in the back of my head all this time because I never felt an urge to unify and complete them. The title and lyrics are about transcending and ultimately destroying one’s idols, both literally and metaphysically.”

Fell and the rest of the band are excited to get feedback about this release; compared to its predecessor, it has more progressive elements while maintaining the straightforward doom and death metal tropes, and lyrical concepts. Those who are familiar with the band will notice a markedly different vocal style coming from Fell, entirely “clean” with no death or black metal harshness, which is the result of lung damage he sustained from contracting COVID during recording.

The album was mixed and mastered by Alexander Backlund, the man behind 1914’s “The Blind Leading the Blind”. It is recommended for fans of Paradise Lost, Opeth, and My Dying Bride.

“Titanicide” can be heard via its premiere on OutlawsofTheSun HERE

“Pale Light In A Dying World” is out on July 16, 2021.

VISERION RELEASE "NATURAL SELECTION"

PRESS RELEASE:

Viserion

Natural Selection

Self-Released

13 August 2021

From its inception, Viserion has never shied away from the outlands of darkness and despair. Embodying the shadows that skirt our nightmares and steal our joy. Embracing the bleakness, their debut record “Natural Selection” will leave you haunted.

Formed in 2019, members John Magnani (guitarist),  Benedetto Marvilli (bassist and vocalist) and Matt Marvilli (drummer) came together to cast their long shadow over the world. Taking inspiration from arguably black metal’s most fertile and explosive period — the early to mid-1990s — the music channels the unrelenting terror and iciness of their forebears: Mayhem, Darkthrone and Behemoth. The foreboding darkness that transcends from each note is a palpable experience.

The collective hopelessness of the past year has been actively channeled into each of the 7 songs featured on “Natural Selection”.  Forced into separation and quarantine, the band embraced this melancholy in their composition, juxtaposed by the frenetic drumming of someone forced to create on the spot as the world, again, began to turn.

“Natural Selection” will be released August 13th, 2021. Dark and evasive in both presentation and lyrics, Viserion will lead you into the great undeniable void, dripping with beautiful anguish.
