The music of In the Company of Serpents is so intense it mimics the gravitational pull of a black hole.

In the Company of Serpents traffic in sonic catharsis. Their music inhabits the strange fringes between sludge metal and sprawling spaghetti western scores, constantly striving for visceral power and raw intensity, contrasted with eerie, spare instrumental passages. Founded in Denver, Colorado in 2011 the band quickly managed to establish a name for themselves. Several releases followed in the years to come and In the Company of Serpents managed to impress the masses on stage as well. Late 2019/early 2020 the band started to work on their album ‘Lux’. It turned out to be one of the most impressive Doom/Sludge Metal albums ever recorded. The band self-released the album in limited edition during 2020 but soon afterwards Petrichor noticed their supreme musical qualities and decided to offer the band a chance to release the album worldwide on CD and LP. A deal was made, hands were shaken and you now all have to face the impending doom before you. The music of In the Company of Serpents is so intense it mimics the gravitational pull of a black hole.

ALASE RELEASE NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO: "AJAN KYSYMYS"

 

PRESS RELEASE:

Alase releases an atmospheric single "Ajan kysymys", after which the band will switch their lyrical language to English. The single will be released together with a music video made by Vesa Ranta's Kaira Films.

"Ajan kysymys" combines Alase's main musical elements such as melancholy, modern atmospheric soundscapes, progressiveness and heavy riffs. The band will continue to work with guest vocalists, however this is singer Juha Tretjakov's third song with Alase.

Guitarist Janne Lunnas describes: "Working with Juha is fun and it involves creativity which clearly enhances the song through the vocal arrangements." The song was recorded with session drummer Ville Aatsinki and it was a very straightforward process.

Janne describes the session with Ville: "Before the studio, Ville and I worked on the drum arrangements remotely and it went really smoothly. After less than two weeks, we went to studio in Tampere, and Ville nailed the song with just a few takes.”

Alase has the composition of the next song ready and its recordings will start soon. There are plans to release a single called "Unburden" in the fall.

DIMMAN RELEASE NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO: "MORBUS"

Finnish modern melodic death metal band Dimman is set to release their debut album ‘Songs and Tales of Grievance’ on July 30th 2021 via Inverse Records. The band’s modern melodeath combines beautiful melodies, heavy compositions and technical musicality into a unique ensemble. In addition to the diverse instrumentation, Dimman’s two vocalists create a distinctive and balanced soundscape.

“Morbus is one of the heaviest songs on the album. The song was originally composed many years ago but it gained its definitive form after some collective arrangement. The song has a catchy main verse, which carries it into multiple different territories. Overall, Morbus describes the sickness that lies within humanity and the lies that surround us everywhere.”

The album addresses all the grievances and insecurities that cause misery to both individuals and communities. The incapability to be able to affect the injustices results in frustration, which can be heard from every song on the album.

Originally formed as Acheron in 1988 by vocalist Simon Dower & then guitarist David Abbott, the band changed their name in in the early 90’s due to a clash with an international act of the same name. Tim Aldrige joined the band in 1989 and quickly became the main writer of music for the band, while Dower handled the grotesque lyrics. Abramelin was a powerful, driving force in the 90’s, playing alongside a host of well-known Aussie acts from various genres, as well as international metal giants like Morbid Angel, Cradle of Filth, Cannibal Corpse, Carcass & Paradise Lost, just to name a few. Although at the top of their game and in high demand, the band decided to take a break in 2003... one that would last 14 years! Fast forward to 2017, Abramelin are back and stronger than ever! Dower and Aldridge are still on board with ex-Abramelin guitarist & music contributor Rob “Wog” Mollica (Earth) now picking up the bass; blisteringly fast guitarist Matt Wilcock (Ackercocke), who played with Abramelin on their Deadspeak tour in 2002 / 2003, is back; and last but not least, Australia’s #1 metal drummer, David Hayley (Psycroptic) is on board ripping out the blast beats. Once again in hot demand and already selling out shows weeks in advance, Abramelin have been touring nationally in Australia on their own as well as alongside international artists such as Napalm Death, Dark Funeral and Immolation. Petrichor presents the worldwide re-issue on cd of Abramelin’s “Never Enough Snuff”. White and announce the imminent release of "The Doorway", a new full-length LP from his mechanized aural weapon Vessel of Iniquity. Comprising of nine blistering new cuts of total auditory annihilation and featuring staggering artwork by PBV of 夢遊病者 (Sleepwalker), "The Doorway" sees Vessel of Iniquity reach its critical mass and assume what may possibly be its most lethal, majestic, and abominable form yet.

On this new horrific experiment of overwhelming sensorial annihilation, sole mastermind A. White invokes absolute armageddon, funneling a blinding scourge of swirling atmospheric harsh industrial and lacerating abstract black metal into forty-five minutes of pure concentrated chaos. Singer Galzi backgrounds the story:

"The song is a story about a person who calls one's partner Perfida, as a reminder of treacherousness. The idea of treacherousness is only a fiction but it leads to a real, definitive tragedy with no return."

 

Biography:

DENIGRATE was formed 1996 in Tuusula, Finland. Right from the start it was certain that musical style, lyrics and melodies, are going to be something that involves melacholy and dark corners of human mind, with a glimpse of hope. After few years of practising and doing random gigs it was time to make demo tape. First demo was released in 1998 and people got to know us bit better. It also gave us new opportunities to play gigs bit further than before. Second demo was released in 2000 and it also got us record deal with Warner Music Finland.

Debut album ”Dismal Euphoria” was released in 2003 and from it two singles: ”Guardian of the Bitter sea” and ”Everything Counts”.

DENIGRATE recorded and produced the second album “Hollowpoint” by themselves and it was finished in autumn of 2015. Compared to previous album, “Hollowpoint” is darker, more aggressive and also more complex.

The third album which instruments were recorded 2018 was ready for release without vocals for a long time. While Micko was focusing more to his another bands we were forced to find another singer. We found a talented singer Galzi (Dead Shape Figure) with most motivated attitude which gave us new energy to finish this album. Galzi gave also new perspective for the lyrical side as well. The third album will be released accompanied by two singles in the second half of 2021.
