About:

Under a new moniker and sound, London, ON’s melodic death groove/thrash band, Mütherload is a regrouped tour-de-force birthed from the ashes of Heaven Ablaze (2003-2012).

Sometimes our paths are meant to be crossed with one another more than once in this lifetime, and that’s how the story of Mütherload came to be.

Guitarist Patrick Davison bumped into drummer Matt Ashton while on the day job. Both hadn’t seen each other since their previous band Heaven Ablaze went on hiatus in 2013. As old friends get to chatter and play catch up on each other’s activities, one thing was certain they would be writing music together once again. Hitting the jam space in 2019, it didn’t take long for the band to recruit members, bassist Chris McKichan joined the line-up and after their first jam, the trio had four songs created. With a foundation already laid, the band completed its ranks with the two Derek’s, guitarist Derek Haley and vocalist Derek Lee (ex-Ataxia.).

After two years of creating and crafting their sound, along with being local opening support for touring bands Threat Signal, Green Jëllo, Beyond Creation, and The Blood of Christ, the quintet is now ready to present their first offering in the form of an EP entitled “Ü”. The EP is a six-track introduction of Mütherload’s thrashy, groovy, melodic death sound.

“The Ü EP is our first step back into the metal scene after years of silence. We feel this small collection of music represents the focus that we’ve developed as a band in our songwriting for the first time in years. Musically, we’ve stretched our reach into new territory with open tunings, and more space for vocals. This EP deserves to be played loud, so crank it up!” adds guitarist Patrick Davison.

The band has already previewed their lead single “The Visitor”, with their first music video earlier this year. The song was originally written years ago as an acoustic song, which is why if you listen carefully, you can hear an acoustic track in the chorus. The band feels this song best represents their sound as there is a little bit of everything in there. There’s groove, thrash, melody, dynamics, and flow along with it being one of the band’s favorites to play live as well. 

The “Ü” will be released on June 25th, 2021 on all digital platforms.

The drumming from Brennan Shackelford is something else though, it's a really huge part of the album that very much sticks out in a sea of generic death metal drummers right now. It's no surprise that he is also a live drummer for Disentomb among many other bands.

"For our newest release, Requiems of The Ignominious, we felt we wanted to push the envelope a little further this time around. We wanted to showcase what we felt was a clear evolution of our already existing sound beyond its initial form from the EP. We wanted to expand on everything a little further, incorporate new ideas, and further refine a sound and approach that we feel will help become instantly identifiable with Cesspool of Corruption. Some of the songs are a bit older still, and somewhat are more directly akin to the EP era a bit. We kept these as we felt the transition and progress was tracked better as the album moves toward songs that are more recently written and constructed within the last few years. As far as conceptually, we further explore various tales relating to misanthropy and the darker sides of humanity, as well as how the human condition is affected by everything around us, however seen or unseen. Each song is essentially a very loose story about something in our society. Whether it be the inevitability of death, manipulation of our lives that remains unseen, or instances of man’s reach exceeding his grasp. We did start to move some of the subject matter into somewhat of a more horror style approach on a few tracks to shift into a different type of dynamic lyrically speaking".

ONIRICA RELEASE "BURN THE ASHES"

Italian atmospheric black metal project ONIRICA return with their new album "Burn the Ashes" on July 12th 2021. The group, in its constant state of evolution, has generated an exciting new album reflecting its musical roots in contemporary and classic black and dark metal.

"Burn the Ashes" strikes with precision and purpose, clarity and crush. An atmospheric black metal album filled with a sorrowful tone and a majestic-yet-nostalgic melodicism. The melodies often twist in unexpected ways, exuding a modernity that's palpable, palatable, and exceptionally multi-faceted. The project's songwriting explores all reaches of the sonic spectrum, from slipstreaming speed to rumbling repose, and all is encased in a honest and stripped-down production.

The mood on "Burn the Ashes" is that of awe and subservience to forces greater than any one person can restrain. The songs relish in their own gradual build as well as the smooth delivery of clean vocals to counterpoint the harsh ones. ONIRICA teeters carefully on the balances created by such contrasts, as they always have, but now see increased cohesion and more delicate songwriting.

Based in southern Italy and lead by multi-instrumentalist Andrea Donaera, ONIRICA was founded in 2007, originally inspired by Italian black metal acts such as Forgotten Tomb, Deadly Carnage and Fearbringer. In 2009 the debut album "Cosasonora" was released via US label Beneath The Fog Productions. After a long silence, in 2018 the band reconvened in the studio and started working on a new set of songs which eventually became "Baba Yaga", an experimental EP based on instrumental tracks performed only with digital instruments.

In 2021 ONIRICA came back with the recording of the second full-length: "Burn the Ashes", released by Vacula Productions and BMC Productions. In this album Andrea Donaera is joined by vocalist Giacomo Albanese. The record features seven new original compositions making up nearly 40 minutes of new music that may arguably may be their most ambitious effort to date.

KASCK RELEASE NEW SINGLE: "DEATH TO THE CROOKED"

KASCK is a thrash metal band from Pune, India. They’ve released their second single “Death to the Crooked” with an official music video on the 4th of July.  

The band was originally started by Vocalist-Guitarist Mayank Katare in 2015. The band´s inspiration comes from both Old school as well as Modern metal, hence making it a jam for a vast audience. 

Having released their debut single “Deal with the Devil” in Oct ’20, Kasck has now released “Death to the Crooked” on the 4th of July. 

“Death to the Crooked” is a straightforward Thrash metal song- fast, heavy and aggressive and vocal about everything wrong with the current authoritative system and the society. 

“Death to the Crooked” Music Video is available on Youtube from the 4th of July. You can stream the song on all the major streaming platforms. You can also buy the track on Bandcamp.

Both of these songs, will be a part of KASCK´s EP releasing later this year.

The EP will be called “Deal with the Devil”.
