Today, Norwegian blackened Viking metal band HJELVIK unleashes a brand-new single called 'Synkverving', that features a guest appearance by Lars Nedland from WHITE VOID and BORKNAGAR. The single follows the release of HJELVIK's debut album "Welcome To Hel" in late 2020 and is also strongly based on Norse mythology and Viking themes, paired with the raw and sinister tone that is typical for the band.

Before the dust of Return of the Goat even had a chance to clear, that debut album is finally here: The Bust of Beezlebub! Flexing the same chops and some new ones, PHANTOM FIRE's first full-length salaciously spans pitch-black speed metal and moody epic metal alike, all of it in (evil) obeisance to timeless HEAVY METAL magick. At once decades old and years ahead of the game, The Bust of Beezlebub bears an ageless wisdom across its succinct seven-song/29-minute runtime, like Aura Noir jamming out on some Cirith Ungol covers or early Omen getting turned onto the Swedish Cranium, and vice versa - on and on, ad infinitum, excelsior! Nevertheless, some interesting twists crop up in the most unselfconscious ways, like the spattering of spiraling psychedelic guitar or solemn Viking-dirge acoustics, altogether making for a wild ride across the hinterlands of the frozen Norwegian tundra...all before it's lit afire!

After releasing two standout full length albums which were both refreshing and thrilling for this style of death metal, HEADS FOR THE DEAD whose lineup includes members of venerated and experienced bands such as WOMBBATH, GOREFEST, REVEL IN FLESH, HAIL OF BULLETS, have come up with an EP paying homage to the classic horror movies which have inspired their music in a big way. Having already established their own horror-tinged sound, it's fascinating to see the band employ a more crusty approach in giving these unforgettable horror movie tunes a brand new vision and output. There are reinterpretations of theme songs from movies such as Maniac, Halloween and The Thing, done entirely in the band's style with lyrics and death metal extremity and then there are two fitting cover songs from punk bands like MISFITS and RAMONES. All in all, this is an exciting and highly enjoyable release not just for the HEADS FOR THE DEAD fans, who have a new full length in the works, but also just about any fan of horror movies and heavy metal music.

For a quarter century now, the Austrian Power Electronics/Industrial monolith known as INSTITUTION D.O.L. has made a significant name for itself in those scenes with works that plumb the depths of horror - and, as with his latest "The Thelema Tales", quietude.

On the trails of the Great Beast, Edward Alexander Crowley (aka Aleister Crowley), "The Thelema Tales" is a themacitally in-depth audio document from a pilgrimage to Sicily in 2015, Barbie B. did with his partner Meta Dolor.

Here, INSTITUTION D.O.L. explores the mythos and mysticism of the man with six spacious tracks where smooth piano lines meet field recordings, from the Abbey and La Rocca, and electronica meets dark ambient.

Four years of intense and devoted work has culminated and manifested into "The Thelema Tales", which was originally released in a limited-edition CD version and now finally seeing worldwide release on vinyl courtesy of EDGED CIRCLE PRODUCTIONS.

ME SACO UN OJO RECORDS in conspiracy with DARK DESCENT RECORDS are proud to present SEPTAGE's highly anticipated second EP, Septisk Eradikasyon. ME SACO UN OJO will handle the 7" vinyl version while DARK DESCENT will handle the CD version and the tape will be released by DESICCATED PRODUCTIONS.

It was but October of 2020 when SEPTAGE burst forth from the filthiest sewers of current death metal hotbed Copenhagen. Featuring members of Taphos and Hyperdontia, SEPTAGE instead dwelled deeply within sewage and gore on their aptly titled Septic Decadence debut, exhibiting a sound that reverentially nods to early Carcass as well as the contemporaneous Finnish death metal scene such records as Reek of Putrefaction and especially Symphonies of Sickness so inspired.

Proving that EP was no fluke, SEPTAGE arrive less than a year later with yet another quick-hitting slab of exquisite putrefaction, Septisk Eradikasyon. While by no means merely repeating themselves, the power-trio here prop up the same sickly sound of that celebrated predecessor - slime and grime doled out with shockingly clear-headed execution, allowing the content to drench the listener in physical/metaphysical grossness rather than simply the form alone. Lumber under no assumption, however, that there's anything remotely "clean" about SEPTAGE in general and Septisk Eradikayson in particular; if anything, the band's more berserk in that execution here, allowing red-eyed chaos to enter into the filthy fray. Likewise, one could nearly qualify these four knife-cuts as "catchy," but perhaps that's down to SEPTAGE's sharpened songwriting chops, where riffs are flowing freely and it all just sounds so effortless. And once again, this shock & awe attack's over and done with in a mere 12 minutes...
