“Being and Nothingness” - originally released by Pulverised Records – saw original HEXEN co-guitarist Artak Tavaratsyan (also formerly of Exmortus) return to the band after a hiatus of several years, bolstering the foundation laid on the previous record by the shredding guitar assault of Ronny Dorian, the precise drumming of Cruz and the dextrous bass and searing vocals of Andre Hartoonian. The band's second album – which featured cover art from renowned metal artist Kristian Wåhlin aka “Necrolord” (At The Gates, Dissection, Emperor) - was hailed by Metal Underground as “a roaring spectacle of glossy solos and intricate songwriting” and was praised as “one of the more impressive thrash albums” of 2012 by Sputnik Music. RAGE IN MY EYES RELEASE "SPIRAL" EP

Rage In My Eyes has been working on their second release under this name over the past year and are excited to finally bring it  to fruition. “Spiral” will join the 2019 full length “Ice Cell” under this current band name, however, the musicians also released 3 full length albums “The Sniper” (2012), “Skeletons Domination” (2008) and “Darkness & Light” (2006) under the name Scelerata, which ran from 2002-2018. The band explains the new EP:

“This EP was written and made during a pandemic. All band members suffered losses of loved ones during the pandemic, some directly related to covid, some not. Also due to covid, the band couldn’t get together in a practice room to jam to the tracks. Each member had to work on their part separately, which was something new within the band. Plus, some songs were being written and arranged during the recording sessions, so we felt it was being made in real-time. All of the above impacted lyrics and the songwriting. We like to think of this EP as a way to say farewell to our dear loved ones and as a spiral of emotions that keeps coming and going.”

It’s evident that creating a journey for the listener is of utmost importance for the band; they explain that the tracklist was carefully thought out and placed in particular order and the EP is best enjoyed from beginning to end. The EP is five songs long with a total running time of under 20 minutes for a nice succinct burst of Brazilian heavy metal flavour that will leave listeners wanting more from this long-running and highly talented group of musicians.

Lightly proggy, and technically approachable, Rage In My Eyes brings a South American flair to traditional heavy metal. They are recommended for fans of Symphony X, Iron Maiden and Metallica.

WOLFTOPIA RELEASE NEW TRACK: "WASH THE SPEARS"

Wash the Spears is the second single from the upcoming debut album Ways of the Pack (Out on December 17th 2021 via Inverse Records) by Finnish melodic death metal band Wolftopia. From the catchy guitar chords of the intro, played by frontman Aleksander Okhotnikov, to the last majestic synthetic trumpets and French horns, programmed by Ossi Peltoniemi, this song oozes uncomplicated eighties power metal.

Okhotnikov, also the band’s main songwriter, says that the writing process of “Wash the Spears” started with the main riff. The catchy rhythm and the chord progression, using a large number of major chords, catch the ear and once lodged in the brain, are difficult to forget. But the song also displays Wolftopia’s bombastic side, with a fast-paced, epic chorus and a technical, rock-‘n’-roll-inspired whirlwind of a solo by lead guitarist Topi Karhunen.

The lyrics are inspired, like many of Wolftopia’s songs, by fantasy literature, in this case the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. “Wash the Spears” narrates the lives of a nomadic people surviving, even thriving, in the harshest of desert environments. There are many hardships in life, the song suggests, but with cooperation, dedication and perseverance we can grow and find joy. This sense of strength in community and adversity is also present in the music. In the optimistic sound, full of major chords and memorable rhythms, of course, but also, significantly, in the shouted choirs during the pre-chorus. “Wash the Spears”, they shout: take action, together, and thrive. Sensible advice, certainly, in these trying times.

REMAIN UNTAMED RELEASE "NEW WORLD ORDER"

Emerging from the remnants of the reunion of semi-legendary 80’s Haarlem area crossover thrash act BRUTAL OBSCENITY, Remain Untamed was founded back in 2015. Bassplayer Ernst, singer Kees and drummer Emiel continued as BRUUT but this initiation of the band was very short-lived. The band name was changed to Remain Untamed with an added touch of humor referring to the slightly “progressed” age of most of the bandmembers. Ernst decided to continue and soon added Patrick on guitars, Stein (ex- Egghead) on drums and Vinnie (ex-Skeletons Of Society) on vocals.

Second guitar player Hans (ex- T.C.F.) was added shortly after. These 5 guys formed a stable line up which lasts until this day. In 2016 the first gig was played at the Patronaat club in Haarlem and the setlist still relied a little on old Brutal Obscenity songs. Soon after enough material was written to release a first EP. Recorded at Pitchnote Studio’s by producer Jory Hogeveen in only a few days the EP contained energetic, raw crossover thrash which captured the first year of the band.

In the following years, many more live gigs were played with among others Sinister, Ritual, Hallowed Fire and many more. The material progressed to a more coherent style, more thrash elements were added and more complex song structured were adapted. In 2020 the band finished enough material to record a new mini-CD. “New World Order” was again recorded at New Road and Pitchnote Studio’s by producer Jory Hogeveen. The CD contains cover art by world-renowned artist Mario Lopez and a musical contribution by Bernd “Bernemann” Kost (Bonded, ex-Sodom). After some Covid-19 downtime, 2021 will hopefully see Remain Untamed perform firing on all cylinders again!

Zora is a brutal death metal band screaming its extreme hate from Southern Italy. The band born in 2003, taking the moniker from the name of a dog veteran of clandestine fights that had wounded him in the body and especially in the soul, making him fiercely distrustful and pissed off with the world, but at the same docile and grateful to the boy who rescued him by taking care of him, the same boy who then designed the band’s logo;  Given the story of this dog, and the reason for his anger, it immediately seemed the perfect name for the band, in fact the message of the music of Zora is a social criticism, vent and total repulsion for all those attitudes and for all those people who day after day bastardizes every sphere and aspect of the human world. It is in this perspective that Zora, focusing their message in the slogan "Scream Your Hate",  in 2004 shoot its first scream,  Dismembered Human Race, a demo composed by 5 song full of rage. So in the same year they published another work, a mcd entitled U.V.A. ( Undisciplined Violent Aggression ), composed by new six songs and rec again, like the previous, at Sound Farm Studio (Italy).  During 2005 the italian label Eyes Of The Dead Productions reprint the first demo-cd Dismembered Human Race to produce a split cd, always in 2005 Zora signs a contract of production with the american label Malicious Intent Records which reprint mini-cd U.V.A. . They start several live, full days in the rehearsal room and exchanges and contacts with different other bands, and in 2009 is out a new split cd called 4 Ways To Scream Your Hate and one year later the austrian label Bloodred Horizon Record  releases their first full-length cd Gore, composed by ten new songs, signing a new contract for the production and distribution with the band. In 2011 is out a new single Slave of mind followed by another single in 2014, Abracadacab, both contained in 2015 on an ep called Two Shots.  In  2016 Zora, with GLK Molè on guitar (also involved in Glacial Fear, Lupercalia and Bastardi), Giampiero Serra on drums ( also involved in Deathcrush and Infernal Goat ) and Tat0 on vox and bass ( also involved in Glacial Fear, Antipathic, Defechate, Throne of Flesh, Unscriptural, Warification ) release a new full length called Scream Your Hate, nine song of pure extreme rage brutal death metal. 

During the summer of 2018 they publish a new single, this time it is a cover of The Exploited, Beat The Bastards, contained in a new ep called Mad-e in Italy, out in November 2019. 

In July 2021 is out, for Maxima Music Pro (ID) Wings Of Destruction (RU) and Old Metal Rites Records (BR), the third full length, called Soul Raptor, 10 new tracks and always the same hate!
