STELLAGEN - 'FREEDOM' [SINGLE] - MUSIC VIDEO

STELLAGEN formed in Sydney, Australia in 2019 with the simple goal of making metal they wanted to listen to: heavy yet melodic, with memorable choruses and shredding guitar solos, incorporating elements from death/ black metal but with the sense of melody and catchiness of power metal in both the vocals and guitars. 

STELLAGEN features Phil Brown (Vocals/ Guitars), Jimmy Lardner-Brown (Guitars) and Symon Haddad (Bass) with session drums provided by Robin Stone.

The vocals range from death/ black metal growls and screams on one end of the spectrum to melodic clean (yet still 'raw') vocals on the other, with a focus on ensuring each song has a memorable 'hook'. A key feature of the band's style is also the guitar harmonies and interplay between twin brothers Phil and Jimmy, which is backed up by the solid rhythm section of Symon and Robin. Lyrical concepts include real life experiences, literature, and sci-fi/ fantasy. 

STELLAGEN's debut album 'From Dying Stars', released 22/02/2022, is the first part of a musical concept, with the counterpart second album set for release later in 2022. 

'From Dying Stars' is available for streaming on Spotify, Apple Music and all other streaming platforms.

Negative Contrast is a progressive rock / metal band based in Athens, Greece.

They began their journey in autumn of 2016, and a year later, on December 2017, they presented their first music sample with the demo “Escape Reality”. After a series of live shows on 2018, they started recording their first full length album ”We ‘re All Pawns Here” at Dope of Sound studios and Made in Hell studios, mixed by Dionysis Christodoulatos (Sorrowful Angels), and the cover artwork created by project Jor Art & Design.

The debut LP was presented in June of 2019 at An Club of Athens. In the autumn of the same year the line up changed, as Selene replaced Katerina Magkoni on vocals and lyrics composition.

In 2020, during the Covid era, some of the band’s songs were included in two compilation albums amongst many great greek bands such as SixForNine, Message In a Cloud and Skags:

Death metal band HELLBORE have unleashed their new single "All Men Are Created Evil" via Decibel Magazine. The song is from their upcoming album Panopticon which is out on March 18th.

The band comments "'All Men Are Created Evil 'is probably the most technical song on the album. It was the first one to be written and was one of the most challenging ones to get sounding right due to all the different things going on instrumentally. The track has a couple of reprieves but is pretty much all guns blazing for four minutes, closing with a mid-tempo groovy outro ”

Following their debut album Holy Sadist released in 2019, Panopticon features creative sonic storytelling, technical guitar madness, a barrage of extreme vocal styles, and immaculate production. From the dramatic, orchestral fuelled opening track "Libertus" to the epic "Panopticon" in three chapters, the new album is a dark, immersive experience. Guttural screams and demonic vocals enshroud the atmosphere with a haunting twist, while hard hitting instrumentation and marching rhythms manifest a powerful heaviness. Introducing technical guitars in "All Men Are Created Evil" and an unexpected jazz section in "Terror Eyes", HELLBORE have have grappled with charismatic musical styles and developed them seamlessly into their sound.

FALL OF STASIS RELEASE "THE CRONOPHAGIST"

Fall of Stasis from Montreal, Canada will have a new album out on February 25th, which is being premiered over on Bravewords. “The Chronophagist” is the first release from the band since their demo in 2017 and it shows maturity, a wide arrangement of influences, and a high level of precision and dedication that the band prides itself on. The result is a relentless, fast, aggressive yet melodic, and symphonic opus with a different vibe and story for every track. Overall, each song blends well into the next one, yet they’re different enough to keep the listener involved for the duration of the album.

The black metal, symphonic, and folk interludes, along with proggy riffs all intertwine in a brutal yet unpredictable melodic composition that will unapologetically grab the listener’s attention from start to finish, and that will appeal to most metal enthusiasts. The band comments on the album:

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to finally release our first album. Our lineup has changed a lot throughout the years for various reasons, but we managed to find a strong lineup composed of talented and dedicated musicians. Consequently, many of our songs have improved thanks to the new members’ creative input. Says Dow, “'I’ll Make Ya Famous' is the first song on the album. It is the only song on the album that is not directly related to the story. It is more of a prelude and overall description of Billy The Kid. We shot the music video at Whitehorse Ranch in Landers, California. The Ranch is a movie studio and is 1800’s authentic. This is the first time I have directed a video and we are extremely excited to release what we believe is our best music video to date."

HELSOTT's newest album, “Will and The Witch” - mixed and mastered by J-F Dagenais (Kataklysm, Ex Deo) and featuring artwork by Felipe Machado Franco (Blind Guardian, Rhapsody, Gamma Ray), is a concept record that tells a fictional story about how Billy The Kid became the fastest gunfighter in the wild west. The first taste of music from the new album was recently unleashed with a visualizer video for the title track, which can be viewed at https://youtu.be/Gok7aEiO1Ys. The band returns to its musical roots on their latest record with heavier thrash overtones and less orchestral work than their prior record, while catching listeners off-guard with new influences befitting of the album's theme. Thrash metal, power metal, and death metal all converge with acoustic campfire segments, Southern banjo and fiddle, and Native American-inspired hand drums and flutes. The end result is a record that is musically ambitious while remaining melodic, thrashy, and true to the underlying sound of HELSOTT.

Since their formation, the California-based HELSOTT – whose name means “fatal illness” in Old Norse – has paid homage to pagan cultures, mythology, and history while keeping true to their American influences. The group's unique mix of folk metal, death metal, symphonic metal, thrash, classical and rock was first unveiled to the world with the 2012 release of their debut EP “Fólkvangr.” The band soon caught the attention of audiences on a larger scale during the 2013 Paganfest North American tour, where they performed with Ensiferum, Tyr and Trollfest. That tour set the stage for the 2014 release of “Woven,” which was supported with tours alongside Arkona and Heidevolk.

In the years since the original release of “Woven,” HELSOTT signed with M-Theory Audio, released another EP (2017’s “The Healer”) and a second full-length (2018’s “Slaves and Gods”) and logged many touring miles worldwide with artists including Korpiklaani, I Am Morbid, Necrophagia, Tengger Cavalry, Ashes of Ares, Felix Martin, Arkona, Skyforger and Finsterforst. In addition, the band performed at major European festivals such as Wacken Open Air and Cernunnos Pagan Fest. “Woven” was also remixed, remastered, and re-released by M-Theory Audio in November 2020 in celebration of the group's 10th anniversary.

This year will not just see the release of HELSOTT's new album, “Will and The Witch,” but will also see the band's return to the live stage. A small number of dates have been confirmed so far, including international appearances at Germany's Dark Troll Festival 2022 and England's HRH Vikings 2022, with more to come throughout 2022.
