The stunning self-titled debut of An Evening Redness is parched desert drone doom and the sound of thunder over the mountains. Evoking the hallucinatory clarity of the alkali plains and the biblical violence of it's literary namesake, An Evening Redness bursts from obscurity with a fusion of sounds that seem incompatible on paper but prove blindingly innovative in action.

Deeply introspective and evoking hallucinatory darkness, An Evening Redness' self-titled debut is the newest release from Brandon Elkins. "S/T '' is a masterwork of diverse ambient doom and post-ambient composition, with the minimalism of Earth contrasted with passages that wouldn’t feel out of place on Jesu’s ‘Opiate Sun’. An ensemble of musical talents including vocalist Bridget Bellavia (BLKTXXTH, Piggy Black Cross), guest soloist Brendan Sloan (Convulsing), and session drummer Ryan Jewell (Riley Walker and many others) serve to underscore the drama and focused production contained within the album's six tracks. What ties the whole album together is an atmosphere that feels spiritually closer to a film score than what you’d expect from a solo record. In his own words “I wanted to make music that sounds like how ‘Blood Meridian’ reads. Lonely, high plains insanity, sudden bursts of violence, longing melodies, ambient isolation.” Elkins' work has always been hard to pin down, but this feels like a culmination of not only the best elements of his many projects - but the compositional mastery that can only come from decades of refined craft. After their debut full-length album, Puritan Masochism, took the entire doom and heavy metal scene by storm upon its release in 2020, critically acclaimed Danish blackened death doom outfit KONVENT returns with a sophomore offering that doubles down on the band’s songwriting talent and brutal, heavy sound!

The sonic evolution of KONVENT over the course of just two years is immediately evident on Call Down The Sun, surprising with new elements at every turn. Undoubtedly inspired by recent dark times, the ongoing pandemic and cancellation of live performances, the new album sees the Copenhagen-based band more pissed off, fast-paced and pitch black throughout. Rikke Emilie List’s guttural, sublime growls and fierce screams perfectly integrate with a heavy as hell wall of blackened death and funeral doom metal riffs from guitarist Sara Helena Nørregaard, backed by a thick, profound rhythm section provided by bassist Heidi Withington Brink and drummer Julie Simonsen. Tracks such as “Grains” – a ground-shaking, stomping black doom metal epos that will be a must-hear on KONVENT’s upcoming live setlists – showcase the band’s deep black soul with a hint of post-metal and even progressive elements. Featuring a haunting violin and cello guest performance by Felix Havstad, the band creates dark, eerie yet epic atmosphere on “Harena”, revealing threatening yet beautiful facets of their sound. With songs such as “Pipe Dreams” and massive album opener “Into the Distance”, the four-piece unleashes hurricanes of blackened death doom metal.

Recorded and mixed by Lasse Ballade at Ballade Studios, Sweden and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege Studio, the new album’s thunderous apocalyptic sound is impossible to escape. The new album, "Common Sense" is coming out on March 15 2022 through RipRide Records and distributed by MVD.

Chemicide started back in 2011 releasing their 1st EP titled Radioactive Annihilation. In April 2015 the band releases their first full-length "Episodes of Insanity" digitally through Bandcamp and shortly after, the album is picked up by Canadian label PRC Music to release on CD format. In 2017 the band hits the studio to record "The Act of Retaliation", the second full-length album, which allows the quartet to tour the northeastern part of Canada (Québec), a 10-day trek with local heroes Vortex.

In 2019 Chemicide releases their best seller to date, the “Inequality” album, selling over 3000 copies worldwide and the band went on yet again for a 13 date tour through Canada (Ontario, Québec and New Brunswick) and Mexico. COVID-19 stopped the touring plans for the band in 2020, so they went back to the studio to release 2 singles; an original titled "Uncertain Future" and a cover of Negative Approach’s “Tied Down”. The band went back to the studio in 2021, this time to record with Juan Pablo Calvo and for the 1st time mix and master the album with Argentinian artist and producer Martín Furia, who’s the lead guitarist for German Thrash Metal legends Destruction.

Their newest production is titled Common Sense and brings a raw sound combined with more aggressiveness and heavier riffs. The band went on signing with the new label RipRide Records, the new label run by Rémi Côté, co-owner of the now defunct PRC MUSIC label. RipRide is dedicated to heavy thrash and classic metal... which is keeping alive and well the strong relationship (more like a brotherhood really!) between Rémi and the boys in Chemicide.

This album was performed by Chemicide and recorded at Lúcuma Estudios and Apex Studios in Costa Rica, by Juan Pablo Calvo.

TREWERUM RELEASE "MILLENIUMS IN A DARKNESS"

Musically, the collective TREWERUM is a fusion of ideas of two people – Sergey Chirkov and Defes Akron. The material is doom/death metal combined with neoclassical metal.

The album was created on the basis of draft recordings made for 5-6 years. When the tracks were about to take their finished form, a drummer Vadim Sitnikov and a female vocalist Terra Teratos joined the collective. They made a great contribution on arrangements of their parts, added colors and dynamics to the album, gave a finished look to the compositions. The album was recorded from the end of 2019 to the summer of 2021.

Lyrically, the album is a journey into the mind of a human, who proceeding through various stages of destruction of a personality. From the prayer to a strange forces, in which the faces of Destiny reveal themselves, through the desperate pursuit of oneself into the narrow room, that mostly resembles a coffin… or into the coffin which was finally furnished for existence? 

The album lyrics is based on artificial insight mythology of Defes Akron, who deduces the concept of the so-called “demon blood” – the fatal distortion in human mind which leads to suffering and tragedies. 

In the end, the things we deny and can never accept, must become accepted. This was the best told in a legend of Millenia in a Darkness…

“There is a legend according to which in order to obtain the true Power one needs to find his soul and call it by its name. Once found this legend, one wizard went on a search. For many years he searched, fought beasts and wandered the world. Once he found the cave deep under the ground, inside which there was lying his soul in a sarcophagus made of stone. This sarcophagus was filled up with impenetrable darkness. The wizard searched everything but found nothing. The sarcophagus was empty. In despair, he returned back and then died in obscurity. Little did he know the darkness was his soul filling up the sarcophagus.”

Album „Millenniums in a Darkness” was released 25th January 2022 as CD jewelbox by Fono Ltd. This record is also available on digital platforms (Bandcamp, Spotify, iTunes).

STELLAGEN - 'FREEDOM' [SINGLE] - MUSIC VIDEO

STELLAGEN formed in Sydney, Australia in 2019 with the simple goal of making metal they wanted to listen to: heavy yet melodic, with memorable choruses and shredding guitar solos, incorporating elements from death/ black metal but with the sense of melody and catchiness of power metal in both the vocals and guitars. 

STELLAGEN features Phil Brown (Vocals/ Guitars), Jimmy Lardner-Brown (Guitars) and Symon Haddad (Bass) with session drums provided by Robin Stone.

The vocals range from death/ black metal growls and screams on one end of the spectrum to melodic clean (yet still 'raw') vocals on the other, with a focus on ensuring each song has a memorable 'hook'. A key feature of the band's style is also the guitar harmonies and interplay between twin brothers Phil and Jimmy, which is backed up by the solid rhythm section of Symon and Robin. Lyrical concepts include real life experiences, literature, and sci-fi/ fantasy. 

STELLAGEN's debut album 'From Dying Stars', released 22/02/2022, is the first part of a musical concept, with the counterpart second album set for release later in 2022.
