Releasing the new album "AQVA" this past January via Rockshots Records, progressive power metal legion Beriedir is sharing with fans their latest music video for the track "Rain".

"Under a faint rain, in the early morning through an old city, this track makes us face the effects of regret, guilt, and nostalgia. Despite seemingly hostile, the suffocating roads of that place turn into an unlikely embrace, while the now pouring rain hides our tears. Anger suddenly adds to the mix, directed both outwards and inwards, while everything fades into a downpour after a hymn to that city." adds the band.

Beriedir's second full-length “AQVA” features ten tracks of progressive, power, and melodic death metal that were mixed and mastered by Simone Mularoni (Domination Studio).

“AQVA”, despite not being a real concept album with a story articulating itself throughout the tracks, touches its various topics through the many forms in which water manifests, be it a river, a storm or tears. The album deals with rather introspective matters, trying to give a new perspective on situations that Biriedir thinks their listeners will find relatable and hoping that they will maybe take shelter in their audio experience, using them as their own voice when only music can speak for us.

“We think AQVA will positively surprise our older fans and lead new ones, this record is much more diverse and has definitely matured in songwriting. The main goal of AQVA as a whole is to figuratively “submerge” the listener with a spectrum of themes, both musical and lyrical, related to water and its shapes. Water is the element of flow, it’s the substance that conceals, preserves, and washes all away. The lulling nature of a silent shore or a rapping rain is juxtaposed with the fearsome imagery of the undertow, riptides, and tidal waves. We tried to convey these atavistic sensations differently from track to track. The singles were chosen to showcase the variety of approaches to this theme.” adds band founder Stefano Nüsperli.

FERALIA RELEASE "UNDER STIGE / OVER DIANAM"

Italian black metallers FERALIA will be releasing their new album, "Under Stige / Over Dianam", on April 28th 2022 via Time To Kill Records, making it the band's debut to the label.

"Under Stige" embodies the black metal essence of the work in a more traditional way. It is a darker and more atmospheric record compared to the debut "Helios Manifesto", this is also due to the arrival of the new singer/guitarist Erymanthon and the new drummer P.

The setting and mood of the album is that of the rituality of Death and the Afterlife in Ancient Roman traditions, and the music accompanies this atmosphere with both fierce, violent passages and slower, heavier ones. Melody is present throughout the whole record, defining this hybrid between traditional Scandinavian Black Metal and a more modern, personal touch.

As "Under Stige" is extreme, nocturnal, ritualistic and manly, "Over Dianam" develops in the opposite direction. Four folk-oriented tracks that carry more of a bright, ambient, feminine mood, overall giving life to a play of opposites that is the essence to the new album.

Agghiastru of Inchiuvatu and Haavard of Dold Vorde Ens Navn, ex-Ulver, ex-Satyricon appear as special guests, the former in "Laudatio Funebris" ("Under Stige"), the latter in "The Altar and the Deer" ("Over Dianam").

FERALIA was founded in 2018 by two Turin-based musicians, Khrura and Raijinous, eager to create a black metal project that was supposed to draw from the Norwegian tradition and at the same time evolve into a more modern dimension, blending rawness, melancholy and epic tones. After the pre-production phase of the first full-length album, drummer Ignotus Nebis and vocalist Tibor Kati (Sur Austru/Negura Bunget) joined in the band.

The first album, "Helios Manifesto", recorded at Ossario Studio in Turin in 2019, was released in the spring of 2020. 

After the release of “Helios Manifesto”, the band immediately started working on new tracks. The band's new record marks the entry into lineup of new singer/guitarist Erymanthon Seth (Apocalypse) and new drummer P. (Noise Trail Immersion, O).

Thy Enemy is a heavy metal band hailing from the woods of Harmony, Maine, that formed in the month of September 2018. Thy Enemy is one of the first bands to form at "Not Whole Studios" (studio & venue), the original members were Ethan Hartley (vocals), Bronson Bateman (rhythm guitar), Alan Tydlacka (bass), and Gary Porter (drums). Soon after their first song "Crushing Weight" was written, James Rafferty (lead guitar), and Jordan Babcock (vocals) joined to help add more depth at guitar, and to create a dual vocalist band.

Thy Enemy decided to name their first EP "Chapters" due to a couple member changes, along with some sound/style changes. After recording their first single "And Then it All Went Black", vocalist Ethan Hartley left due to personal reasons. Soon after the "Chapters" EP was finished being recorded, lead guitarist James Rafferty left for personal reasons as well. Thy Enemy stared adversity in the eyes, and did not slow down, adding current vocalist Korey Brown and lead guitarist Jonathan Condon. Thy Enemy looks to redefine heavy metal, fusing thrash, hardcore, and deathcore influences.

A diary of loss. Back and forth between memories, presence, and the struggle within. A cathartic process. Introversive. Abrasive. Fragile. Not supposed to comfort you. Not supposed to give you answers.

For their sophomore album Kavrila decided to take a different approach to recording Mor compared to their previous album, and EPs. A two day live recording session with producer, and engineer Timo Höcke at his Wellenschmiede Studio in Hamburg, Germany. Apart from a few overdubs everything else was composed and recorded in the studio. During the creative process of “Mor” a decision was made to give the music the right amount of time needed, so it could resonate better to Alex‘s vocals, and his approach to the lyrics. The passing of his mother, and the process of coping became the main theme of the whole album. This wasn’t planned beforehand, but ended up being the result of the natural progression of the music, and the conversations within the band.

All lyrics were written by Alex except the last song “Retribution” which was written by Daniel(Bass). The band chose “Retribution” as the last song of the album because they felt the lyrics gave the album as a whole a sense of closure. The meaning behind “Retribution” is that time heals, one needs to be patient, and not give up hope, cause even in the darkest of times you can always find a speck of light.

Respect what you lost and embrace what will follow …
