Iron Blood & Death presents to you Satyric Eye the first album of Dïatrïbe, a French one-man band created during the year 2019 to create radical and intense music, an extension of the French scene with some traditional influences such as 1349, Gorgoroth or Anorexia Nervosa.

An EP was released on VENDETTA records in 2021 and Satyrical Eye is out now on Iron Blood and Death Corporation.

The mysticism and the spiritual subject define for me what black metal is, the artistic exploration of something else, creeping and powerful like a fiery cloud, uncompromising with very clear guidelines, acceptance to let go to the unknown, the search for this unexplained vibration that grabs us between fear and fascination. An artistic vision of the unfathomable, indomitable abyss hidden behind all things. Forgotten but never sustain.

Swedish power metal group Krilloan are back with the re-release of their dynamic EP Stories Of Times Forgotten, now available worldwide via Sliptrick Records. The songs on Stories Of Times Forgotten are fast, based on fast riffing, thundering drums and crowned by the epic vocals of Alex VanTrue. The EP includes five tracks that sum up the whole idea behind Krilloan, fast, hard and melodic power metal played at lightning speed. The songs make you want to pump your fist in the air and scream. The music is created and played out with a long and never-ending love of the genre whilst still retaining a fresh, vibrant and engaging sound.

Krilloan joined forces with Stormwarrior mainman Lars Ramcke and Piet Sielck of Iron Savior who agreed to mix and master the EP. Production was taken care of by mainman Klas Holmgren. If you are into the early Blind Guardian and Helloween records, Krilloan have got you covered and could well be the missing piece of the puzzle when it comes to the power metal scene of today.

“Musically, ‘Exile’ is a good example of what can be expected from our new album. It has elements of death, doom, and black metal, with a little hook to bring it all together. This song highlights our versatility - we can go fast and we can go slow,” explains bassist/vocalist Adam Miller. “Lyrically, the song tells of a deposed ruler whose people still need his leadership and protection, even though he abused his authority. It’s a metaphor for the complex and sometimes contradictory emotions that define our relationships with each other and ourselves. Raf Ortega once again made an excellent lyric video that visually suits the song and features the amazing cover art painted by Eliran Kantor. Eliran blew our minds with his creation, which is a perfect interpretation of lyrical themes of the album as a whole. It’s meant to be played at crushing volume, so crank those decibels up!”

The early roots of what is now known as GUILLOTINE A.D. first took shape in 2003, when brothers Adam & Lance Miller first formed the band, then known as GUILLOTINE, in their rural southwest Georgia town. The brothers initially grew up on ‘70s hard rock legends such as ZZ Top, AC/DC, Van Halen, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, and came of age during the New Wave of American Heavy Metal, cutting their metal teeth on Shadows Fall and Lamb of God. Life saw the brothers soon head on different paths for the next decade, with GUILLOTINE going on pause during that time.

GUILLOTINE was reformed by the brother duo in 2015. Adam & Lance now took inspiration from the classic death metal of Cannibal Corpse and Six Feet Under, the New Orleans sludge of Crowbar and Eyehategod, and the Scandinavian black metal of Mayhem and early Enslaved. The duo soon followed that reformation with a re-location to Athens, Georgia, where they met drummer Evan Posey. The newly-materialized incarnation of the band became the perfect outlet for the updated direction that their music had taken. The band self-described the motivation of their new sound as wanting “to sound like if Obituary moved to New Orleans and tried to play down-tuned versions of Satyricon songs.”

GUILLOTINE's self-titled and self-released debut album was released in October 2017. The group soon took their new sound to live stages all over the Southeast United States, supporting bands such as Goatwhore, Cannibal Corpse, and Hate Eternal. The band also participated in Slaughter Que 2019, which was headlined by acts such as Exodus, Kataklysm, Exhorder, and more. The trio also shared stages alongside fellow rising extreme metal acts such as Cloak, Frozen Soul and Sanguisugabogg.

The band began working on what would become their second full-length in 2019 with producer Matt Washburn (Mastodon, Atheist, Withered) at Ledbelly Studio. The group officially changed their name to GUILLOTINE A.D. in December 2021 and signed with M-Theory Audio to formally usher in a new era for the band along with the release of “Born to Fall,” currently set to hit streets on June 24th. SPILL YOUR GUTS (SYG) bring a raw, D.I.Y. hardcore spirit to a movement as transient as it is dangerous. Comprising a quartet of expatriate members — vocalist Dima (Russia), drummer Tyler (Canada), guitarist Larry (Scotland) and bassist Ian (Canada) — SYG were formed in 2012.

SYG teamed up with Scott Middleton from Cancer Bats, who not only produced, recorded and mastered the record, but helped the band define their own musical sound, as well as crafting their somewhat complicated story. SYG recorded at Schoolhouse Studios in Hamilton, Canada with the help of recording and mixing engineer Nick Ginn, and engineering assistant Andy Dmytryshyn.

In the band's own words:

"The Wrath It Takes is the record we’ve always dreamed of making; the record that will destroy venues while handing out high fives; the record that took us several years of hardship to write, produce and record. This record, more than anything we’ve ever released or written, sonically displays the emotional grit and turmoil that we endured to get to this point in our career as a band.

Each song on this record exhibits its own nuanced, balanced characteristics of melody and aggression fused with rasping vocals and ferocious percussion. As a band we lived through an extreme grasp on life by the government, which escalated into our homes being raided, constant live show raids and cancellations, arrests and deportations from the country. As we witnessed our scene being forced back into invite-only jam room studio shows, it seemed like personal problems just kept piling on top of it all. The resulting turmoil in our lives meant that lyrically this record took a much darker and deeper path than anything we’ve written before and focuses on a threaded narrative of personal liberation; from relationships, from governments, from societies and from very real turning points in our lives that we’ve all had to go through."

BIO:

Over the years, contending with eleven separate members moving in and out of the country, as well as pressure from capricious government regulations, they experienced a flurry of roster changes. The band’s first live show was in April 2012, with a pair of live EPs released independently before 2014 when they issued the five-track Slip and Fall EP. Featuring a bloody delivery reminiscent of Kvelertak, Every Time I Die, and Trap Them, Slip and Fall was quickly followed by the one-off single “Poisoned Minds” later that summer.

A split 7” with Russian hardcore brethren Broken Fist dropped in January 2015. As SYG continued to tour in mainland China, they found their way to sweaty stages in Singapore, Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur. In the summer of 2016, they released their follow-up EP, Full Blast, with country wide shows and festival appearances. 2017 saw SYG’s first full-length debut, Hungry Crows, followed by a small China tour and a 5,000+ km tour across Russia. In 2018 they continued to headline festivals in China, touring with Cancer Bats and co-headlining Silence Festival in Nepal.

SYG started off 2019 strong with two Canadian tours and then hitting Schoolhouse Studios for three weeks in Canada with producer Scott Middleton, where they recorded their (yet to be released) 2nd full length LP.

The juxtaposition of punishing guitar riffs and relentless blastbeats with symphonic arrangements and soaring vocals is fascinating in the way it highlights the inherent differences and similarities these genres have.
