"Inner Pyre is a collection of hymns outlining the darker parts of our psyche. The mounting bleakness for all the grief life throws you. Capitulation Genuflect places a 'God' label on beliefs and stances that engrave your mind, beyond reproach. To be haunted by God in that sense is an eternal drip of ticking dread. On this EP we’ve taken our inspiration from Celtic Frost, Dismember, Trouble, Autopsy, Sepultura, Motorhead and Japanese hardcore bands like Death Side and Forward. The EP was recorded and mixed over seven months at Eternity Ward studios."

BRUTTA RELEASE DEBUT SINGLE: "BRUTTA"

Brutta out of São Paulo, Brazil, and the UK featuring the trio of Adriano Ribeiro (Athemon) (guitars, vocals), Tom MacLean (Athemon, ex-Haken) (bass), and Gledson Gonçalves (drums) are fresh, eager and ready to melt the faces off metalheads around the world. They have their debut self-titled album coming out this June, which is a formidable introduction to this new band of seasoned, professional musicians. Right now, the band is streaming the title track off the album via its premiere on Bravewords HERE.

The opening track on the full-length, it’s about letting yourself be transformed by Brutta’s aggressiveness, and admiring its uniqueness while being taken over by the transformation process. Brutta is what everyone will become, so watch out! The band explains further:

“We treasure this song a lot, as it was one of the first composed by us. It has an open evil chord followed by an explosion blast beat with a heavy bass seal. It's the sound that never stops providing you with madness energy! The song is direct and precise. From its wicked atmosphere and obscure melody lines, we believe fans will be very curious about what’s to come!”

What follows after the title track is a high-speed, onslaught of blackened death metal spanning eight tracks, which is at times tense, occasionally experimental, but always heavy. The lyrics on the record come from human behaviour interests, especially its darker angles. Themes such as emptiness, hatred, and anxiety as well as religion and how it affects individuals.

According to Brutta, they believe fans will dig the sound, as it’s very original and consistent, but in a catchy and tuneful way. The dark atmospheres will drive the minds of listeners to obscure places. They are recommended listening for fans of Mayhem, Bloodbath, and Dark Funeral.

MISOPHONIA JOINS SLIPTRICK RECORDS

MisophoniA are a melodic metal act hailing from Glasgow Scotland. The group is heavily influenced by European melo-death acts such as Dark Tranquillity and At the Gates while showcasing some black metal and doom tendencies akin to the stylings of Satyricon, Primordial, Paradise lost and My Dying Bride. The Band formed back in 2017 and performed their first show in 2018, they went on to play a handful of shows alongside local Glasgow and Edinburgh acts as well as playing as opening support to Godthrymm.

2019 into 2020 saw the band going through a very rough transitional period due to sudden line-up departures in April of 2019. It took the band until 2020 to find suitable replacements complicated by the Covid 19 pandemic as well. The band prevailed and in the summer of 2020 MisophoniA were joined by Justin Laidlaw on Guitars and Kenneth Boyle on drums. The band then managed to compile a 5 track EP aptly titled New Beginnings which saw the band trying out a new sound and got the band back on the radar.

MisophoniA have gone from strength to strength, you could say it’s the bands resurrection. Now in 2022, the band are stronger than ever and are enjoying the newest fruits of their labour, the release El Silencio Será Eterno.

Swedish titans of technical death metal, Soreption, have shared their intense new single and video 'The Artificial North'. The second track to be taken from forthcoming album Jord is set for release on 10th June via Unique Leader Records.

The video, which was directed, filmed and edited by Anton Alfredsson with video footage of Ian Waye filmed by Renee Robyn, premiered at the official Unique Leader Youtube channel. 

On the new single, vocalist Fredrik Söderberg explains: "The concept of the song, in short, is about the extremes we go to for survival. How we slowly but surely become more digital than organic. At the end of it all, we become what we feared from the start. In the video we follow a man trapped in this rapidly evolving artificial north."

A triumph of a record, Jord sees Soreption at their most streamlined and potent, demonstrating so viscerally why they previously drew rave reviews globally with Engineering the Void (2014) and Monument of the End (2018).  

The band comments: “Our main focus, as it has been in every album since the beginning, is to write death metal with a blend of technicality and groove.  The goal is to raise those two elements’ more and more for every release. Finding that balance keeping the music interesting is important aspects when we write.”

Jord is an album of the highest skill by masters of their craft. Thirty minutes of brutal riffing and inspired songwriting goes by in a flash as Soreption stake their claim at the head of the modern tech-death wave. Never a band to shy away from a groove, the record continues the aggression-and-melody mix that has become the Swedish band’s calling card. 

When establishing the concept of Jord the band focused on the concept of fragments of reality after the end of the world by way of an apocalypse. Jord is also the first album in Soreption’s repertoire where the lyrics are directed more towards fiction, whereas previously the band have commented on current or near-future world affairs.

Jord is mixed and mastered by Buster Odeholm (Born Of Osiris, Humanity's Last Breath, Vildhjarta, Hacktivist) at Odenholm Audio and featuring artwork by Caelan Stokkerman who handled artistic duties on their previous releases. Synths and Effects were arranged by James Carey with Drums and Vocals Recorded by Roger Bergsten at Nevo Studios.

Jord also features guest guitar solos from Ian Waye (Thanopraxia), Stefan Nordlander (ex-Soreption Live), Johan Andersson (Dråp), John Matos (Abiotic), Malcom Pugh (Inferi), Joe Haley (Psycroptic), Gottfrid Norberg Waxin (Independant), Dean Lamb & Tobi Morelli (Archspire).  

Formed in 2005 in Sundsvall, Sweden, technical metal masters Soreption are known for their razor-sharp technical riffs, schizophrenic time signatures topped with catchy chugging grooves and intense vocals. From this they have created their signature sound, not yet replicated by any other modern band, and with a strong following to back.

The band’s debut full-length Deterioration Of Minds brought major attention to the band as a formidable force in the genre. Deterioration Of Minds was released by Ninetone Records in 2010 and was re-released by Unique Leader Records in 2014; their punishing follow-up album Engineering the Void was released February 2014 (also on Unique Leader Records) to critical acclaim worldwide.

Soreption only grew from there – 2015 saw them tour with Cryptopsy, Origin, and Cannibal Corpse. Following their touring success the band signed with Sumerian Records and in 2018 released their mighty Monument of the End LP.

With the world shuttered from a worldwide pandemic, Soreption took their chance to refocus their tech machine and create an album that is the natural continuation of Monument of the End.

SPANISH THRASH METAL BAND REAKTION COMPLETES THEIR “THE EXISTENCE TRILOGY”

With their latest album, entitled “To Expect Nothing”, Barcelona-based thrash metal band completes what they have called “The Existence Trilogy”, after “Blackmailed Existence” (2016) and “Learning to Die”. All the albums have been recorded, mixed and master at Axtudio, one of the most important metal studios in Catalonia.

The trilogy, or “thrashology” as they like to call it, consists of three parts: the first record talks about the idea of death as something that has to happen. The second one, second album, is based on, since we all have to die, how we can approach life. The last part, “To Expect Nothing”, calls for a life of acceptance and stoicism.

The band

Reaktion is one of the most important thrash metal bands in Spain. They have toured Spain and Portugal several times, supporting Brazilian female thrash metal band Nervosa and twice the classic german speed metal band SDI. They have played in many festivals including Vagos in Portugal, and their last gig was in Madrid supporting Artillery.

The style

The band has its own personality, something which is not common in the NWOTM scene. Their combination of old-school thrash metal with ’90 metal, some technical touch, thoughtful lyrics and catchy vocals give the band a very distinctive and unique sound.

Alt Skal Svinne Hen..., all shall disappear, is the debut EP from Likheim and the very first release from Underground Kvlt Records, a new subsidiary of the infamous Odium Records – an auspicious start for both parties. Underground Kvlt was set up to unveil dark treasures from the underground, unheard magic from the subterranean depths and Likheim’s shards of black ice are just such a hoard. Once again co-produced by Chris Djuricic and the band, A Call to Arms was mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö. It’s the band’s newest record since their acclaimed self-titled 2018 release, praised by Loudwire, Decibel, Revolver, Metal Hammer and a host of celebrated publications. 

Forever looking to push death metal groove with attitude, Jungle Rot are highly regarded globally. Shots firing overhead, out of breath, thankful to be alive, an exhausted, courageous soldier takes cover in a nearby trench.  Hailing from Kenosha, Wisconsin, Jungle Rot has steadily collected fans by the thousands since their 1995 demo release Skin The Living. Critics, blown away by their chillingly explosive live shows, rewarded the band with stellar reviews and were offered their first record deal with Pulverized Records. Through new representation, the men released their first full-length project, Slaughter The Weak (1998) and were greeted by a tremendous amount of support from both the metal community and critics everywhere. HILD (FEAT. EX MARDUK DRUMMER) RELEASE "OBLITERATING SILENCE"

HILD is the new outfit from Lars Broddesson (ex-Marduk, Funeral Mist studio session + much more).

It is a strife and battle-themed project centered around the Valkyries of Nordic mythology.

Each song honoring a specific Valkyrie, channeling their respective traits on the battlefield.

Fierce forces to imbue our beings, timeless traits for each of our struggles.

The outlet is raw, straightforward energy that takes no prisoners, wastes no time.

Labeling itself "Violent Swedish Metal" HILD is a Thrash Metal based outfit, infused with currents of Black and Death Metal as well as some old-school Swedish Crust and Hardcore.

HILD came to life through a divine spark and assignment in the woods around Hultsfred, Sweden, one night in early autumn 2021.

The motto is that no song be longer than 2:30 and require no more than 9 hours from first idea to finished product.

In this manner, an album of 12 tracks were written and completed during a 4-week period.

All entirely written, performed and produced by Broddesson.

The first official 2-track single "Brink of Extinction" was released on Feb 22nd, 2022.

It is followed by "The Great Unrest", another 2-track single, released on April 11th, 2022.

Further releases and action is underway as the project keeps gaining ground in the metal world.
