EINHERJER RELEASE LIVE ALBUM

PRESS RELEASE:

Norse metal legends EINHERJER proudly announce the upcoming release of their first live album, Norse And Dangerous (Live... From The Land Of Legends), out August 5, 2022 via Napalm Records in vinyl (strictly limited to 300 copies) and digital formats! Norse And Dangerous (Live... From The Land Of Legends) was recorded in the band’s hometown of Haugesund in February of last year at their North Star (2021) album release shows, and follows the release of said full length, which was acclaimed both by fans and media alike (Spark 5/5 [CZ], Deaf Forever 8/10 [DE], Hardline 8.5/10 [DE], Metal Hammer 8/10 [UK]).

Norse And Dangerous (Live... From The Land Of Legends) not only includes songs from North Star, but beautifully sums up EINHERJER’s discography, offering a live gem satisfying both new and current fans and Viking metal legions beyond!

To give a first glimpse of what can be expected of the live album, EINHERJER have released the new live version of their single “West Coast Groove”, originally on North Star, along with a music video. Riddled with even huskier live vocals, the powerful track combines old school vibes with dark Viking metal atmosphere that brings the tension of a live concert into your living room.

EINHERJER on the live version of “West Coast Groove”:

"With no gigs in a year and new blood in our ranks, we recorded the two hometown release shows just to get an idea of what we sounded like live in 2021. It only took one listen to realize that our fans would appreciate this as much as we did. EINHERJER live is an energetic experience. We want to let everyone hear that, so here's our first live album, recorded live on our home turf in front of many familiar faces. The document of a great evening!"

Watch the official video for the live version of “West Coast Groove” HERE:

World-renowned Norsemen EINHERJER have returned to unleash their fantastic, grim sound once more! Founded in 1993, the metal veterans have spent nearly 30 years making their mark on the Viking metal genre with eight studio albums and two EPs. This year, the band even reached another benchmark, earning a nomination for a Spellemann Award – the most important music prize in their home country of Norway!

Norse And Dangerous (Live... From The Land Of Legends) sets off with great opener “West Coast Groove” from their most recent studio album, North Star (2021). Next, “The Spirit Of A Thousand Years” showcases EINHERJER’s technical songwriting sophistication with the finest guitar solos, while “The Blood & The Iron” offers bursting, intense energy and “Kill The Flame” lures with its characteristic riffage. But the band doesn’t stop with more recent songs! After visiting several other favorites, the band soon returns to days of yore with tracks like “Dragons Of The North” and “Ballad Of The Swords” from their 1996 debut full-length Dragons Of The North, before closing with turn-of-the-century banger “Ironbound” and classic tune “Far Far North”. The live contrast between their formative hits and more recent orchestrations clearly proves that the band has remained true to themselves throughout the decades, continually delivering an authentic sound.

BEAR MACE RELEASE VINYL VERSION OF "CHARRED FIELD OF SLAUGHTER"

PRESS RELEASE:

Chicago death metal band BEAR MACE have released the vinyl edition Charred Field of Slaughter via Redefining Darkness. The album was originally released on digital and CD formats back in 2020.

Order/Listen here:  https://bearmace.bandcamp.com/album/charred-field-of-slaughter

The band comments:

"After a lengthy delay (thanks ABBA), "Charred Field Of Slaughter" is now finally available on LP. Featuring expanded artwork and an extra song. Many thanks to Thomas at Redefining Darkness for making this possible!"

About BEAR MACE

Since forming in 2012, Chicago death metal quintet BEAR MACE has mostly operated in the shadows. Influenced by DEATH, BOLT THROWER, and MASSACRE, the band made their presence known via a demo cassette and infrequent live appearances. Finally, in 2017 the band released a debut full-length, Butchering The Colossus, leading to positive reviews and a recent opening slot for Tampa legends Massacre on their reunion tour. However, work on a follow-up album was delayed by turnover in the band's ranks. Finally, the wait is over, and BEAR MACE is prepared to unleash their 2nd album Charred Field Of Slaughter upon the world.

While BEAR MACE's members have kept their identities hidden thus far, the recent lineup changes motivated them to step into the light. Led by vocalist Chris Scearce the band consists of guitarist Mark Sugar (BLACK SITES and drummer Garry Naples (NOVEMBERS DOOM, WITHOUT WAVES) alongside new recruits John Porada (bass, WOLVHAMMER, PULCHRA MORDE) and Tommy Bellino (guitar, ARMOURED ASSAULT).

From the opening battle cry of "Destroyed By Bears" to the anthemic "From The Sky Rains Hell," BEAR MACE clearly has something to prove. Tracks like "Plague Storm" and "Let Crack The Whip" easily stand alongside the band's most aggressive material, while the title track is a haunting description of modern war. The massive-sounding mix by Damian Herring (Horrendous) pays homage to the band's Tampa-based influences, while keeping one foot in the current time and place.

BEAR MACE is:

Chris Scearce – Vocals

Mark Sugar – Guitar

Tommy Bellino – Guitar

John Porada – Bass

Stream on Spotify and AppleMusic

Entitled "Hexerei", a German word that means Witchcraft, features compositions focused on 90s Black Metal legacy.

"We chose this title because the lyrics and music are surrounded by this mythical and ritualistic atmosphere. Musically, compared to our previous album, 'Magna Adversia', I'd say we hit the brakes in the evolutionary sense, in a positive way, of course. The new songs follow more that 90s Black Metal style", explains Mantus. "This new work can be seen as a rescue of what PATRIA was on the first albums, but with a better production, even with that dirty and raw approach, and allied to acoustic and melodic parts", completes the vocalist Tsword.

Also, Mantus explains that Patria is using more synths and piano than usual. "The intention was to create a more dramatic and gloomy touch. We always used it discreetly, but the presence of these new textures in this new material is way more expressive and evident, but not sounding 'symphonic' at all. The idea was to have an ambience that unite the music to the lyrical context. We were very pleased with the result", he details.

Mantus also commented on the contrast with the dirtier sound in relation to the cover. "We opted for a minimalist and iconic cover art, even without the use of the logo and title on it. This subjective approach usually generates a bigger curiosity. We kind wanted to get away from traditional Black Metal covers on this new record. The hands with dried blood symbolize this mythical aura of black magic, death and rebirth, where the right hand tries to contain the left, as if it were a kind of counterpoint between reason and emotion of the human mind."

"Hexerei" features very special guest like the drummer Leonardo Pagani, who played with Mantus for long years on Mysteriis and several other projects like Le Chant Noir. “He's a fantastic drummer, one of the most impressive I know and yet he has this harsh metal vibe in his blood, which are qualities that are difficult to see together in a same musician. Also, he's a great producer. He co-produced, mixed and mastered the entire album", emphasizes Mantus. "He knows how to combine good sound quality with the grime that is needed on a real black metal record. We couldn't be in better hands."

In addition to Leonardo Pagani, the album features Demon Fog, from the legendary Brazilian black metal band Songe d'Enfer, who shared vocals with Tsword on several tracks. "The curious thing is that when I was taking Patria off the ground in 2008, he was the one who would sing on the first album, 'Hymns of Victory and Death', even before I moved to the extreme south of Brazil and officially founded the band. Songe d'Enfer is one of the best black metal bands in Brazil, in my opinion, and it's an honor to have him with us in 'Hexerei'", celebrates Mantus. "To complete, we had the participation of the vocalist Lembetu of the band Loits, from Estonia, in the track 'A Last Breath of Sulphur', where he sings his parts in Estonian, while Tsword is singing in English. Me and our other guitarist, Ristow, have been in Estonia in January and we arranged to have a pizza with Lembetu, which make us to bring this idea of having him on the record. I love Loits' records and I'm a big fan of his vocals. We even decided to put it as a bonus track, but with him singing all by himself in Estonian", he adds.

The intro, "Hexerei", which opens the album's repertoire, was created and orchestrated by Dave Deville. "He is a talented producer and musician from Serra Gaúcha, who has worked for The Troops of Doom and Litosth. We became friends and the partnership also happened with Patria. When we imagined an 'intro' for the record, we wanted something really obscure, inspired by old horror movie soundtracks and our main inspiration was the score for 'The Omen', by the icon Jerry Goldsmith. The result was wonderful", completes Mantus.

BITTER END RE-RELEASE "HARSH REALITIES"

PRESS RELEASE:

Seattle Thrashers BITTER END To Reissue Their 1990 Opus 'Harsh Realities'

August 12th release date set; Pre-orders now available for limited-edition colored-vinyl reissue

M-Theory Audio will reissue “Harsh Realities” from Pacific Northwest thrashers, BITTER END. The Seattle group's 1990 release – produced by Randy Burns (Megadeth, Kreator, Death, Nuclear Assault) and featuring cover artwork by Jim Warren (Loudness, Lizzy Borden, Heir Apparent) - garnered critical acclaim and a cult following for a thrash metal assault that bludgeoned ears with musical precision that appealed to fans of acts such as Megadeth, Forbidden, and Testament. Originally released by Metal Blade Records, “Harsh Realities” is set to be reissued on August 12th by M-Theory Audio with a new interior 4-panel layout featuring lyrics, extra flyers and photos and new liner notes from guitarist/vocalist Matt Fox on limited-edition (300 copies) radiation green with orange haze colored-vinyl. Pre-orders for the upcoming reissue are available now at www.smarturl.com/bitterendseattle

“What a thrill to see ‘Harsh Realties’ re-released in 2022, and for vinyl to be the format that brings Bitter End to a new generation!” exclaims guitarist Russ Stefanovich.

“I am really excited to see ‘Harsh Realities’ reissued,” adds bassist Chris Fox. “It was originally released when metal was phasing out, having become a parody of itself with the hair bands, the excess, and the rise of grunge. Nice to see that chops and passion never really go out of style.”

The roots of BITTER END date back to the early 1980's Southern California upbringing of then-teenage brothers Matt (guitars) and Chris Fox (bass), who began jamming together after being inspired by then-local acts such as Slayer and Armored Saint, and then-burgeoning Bay Area acts of the time such as Metallica and Exodus that would travel south for live performances. The brothers would relocate to suburban Seattle in 1983, and would join forces with drummer Harry Dearinger and later, guitarist Russ Stefanovich, to form the classic lineup of BITTER END with Matt taking on lead vocal duties. The group were mainstays of the late 1980's pre-grunge Seattle heavy metal scene that also gave rise to fellow Pacific Northwest thrashers of the era such as Forced Entry and Panic.

After the success of their demo tape, “Meet Your Maker,” an underground favorite amongst fanzines, college radio stations and tape traders BITTER END signed with Metal Blade Records and released “Harsh Realities,” their lone full-length record, in 1990. The album received strong reviews at the time from Metal Forces and Kerrang!, and the music video for the title track received airplay on MTV's “Headbanger's Ball.” The band cultivated their live presence with prolific shows in their hometown scene alongside future giants such as Soundgarden and Alice In Chains, and toured alongside fellow thrash greats such as Sacred Reich and DRI. The group began tracking their follow-up record at Robert Lang Studios in Seattle with Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mudhoney) handling mixing duties, however the shifting tides of the music industry and creative differences resulted in the dissolution of BITTER END in 1992 before their next album could be completed.

The members of BITTER END continued to pursue further musical endeavors in the years that followed. Matt Fox would go on to play a part of a re-formed lineup of 1980's thrashers Holy Terror and punk rockers Zero Down. Chris Fox has performed in a number of acts, and most notably handled bass duties on Geoff Tate's 2002 debut self-titled solo record. Russ Stefanovich has performed in the years since with Seattle heavy metal acts Midnight Idöls and Demon Dogs, while drummer Harry Dearinger has continued to be a consistent presence within the Seattle heavy metal scene.  The remains of the proposed second BITTER END album were eventually released in 2011 by Metal on Metal Records as part of the “Have A Nice Death!” compilation - which will also be reissued later by M-Theory Audio – and include the esteemed “Meet Your Maker” demo.

More information on M-Theory Audio's upcoming reissue of BITTER END's “Harsh Realities” will be revealed in the weeks to come at www.facebook.com/bitterendband and at www.m-theoryaudio.com.

BIOGRAPHY:

Sacrimonia is a symphonic black metal band from Warsaw, Poland. Established in 2015, the band focuses on creating a bewitching blend of powerful female vocals, melodic, yet razor-sharp riffs and gothic orchestrations. Born from fascination with symphonic black metal classics like Dimmu Borgir and Emperor, the Polish act Sacrimonia aims to offer much more than the genre's basics.

The band's new „Anthems Of Eclipse” album (as well as older „New World Ascension” EP) bustle with crippling female vocals, refined guitarwork and rich orchestrations. But most importantly, quality songwriting. While other similar aspiring bands keep on  talking about how "dark" or "uncompromising" they are, Sacrimonia delivers music that is equally catchy and intriguing, with little regard for current trends in the black metal scene.

Album: Imperious

INEXORABLE Stand Tall And ‘Imperious’

With old school death metal guitar and vocal work being a signature theme of Inexorable, on their new album Imperious, the group have now expanded with additional elements to keep with the current upswing in experimenting metal and new sounds. Influenced by the great bands before them, Inexorable began experiments with orchestral elements including strings and piano. Pushing the limits even further on the creative applicability of song writing, guitar skill and previous limitations.

Whether you are listening to the first song, Not My Funeral or the last One Light, the new boundaries of Inexorable are immeasurable.
