Bay area thrash metal giants TESTAMENT unleashed their highly acclaimed thirteenth studio album, Titans Of Creation, via Nuclear Blast in 2020.
Today, TESTAMENT is proud to announce they will release a Titans Of Creation Video Album on September 9th via Nuclear Blast Records. The limited-edition collectible features performance videos of all the tracks on the record. The footage was compiled at a soundstage in San Francisco and was edited into music video-style clips that will be available on Blu-Ray accompanying the CD with bonus photos and liner notes plus a button and sticker in a longbox. Staying true to the record, the performances feature Gene Hoglan behind the kit! This version will be limited to 6,500 units worldwide.

Produced by Max alongside Arthur Rizk (KREATOR, MUNICIPAL WASTE, CODE ORANGE), the album boasts guest appearances from John Powers (ETERNAL CHAMPION), Chris Ulsh (POWER TRIP), and John Tardy (OBITUARY). Arthur Rizk was also responsible for playing lead guitar on the record. The artwork for the album was created by James Bousema.

Montreal's The Occult is rock n’ roll that has strong punk vibes along with catchy choruses, upbeat riffs, and a passionate attitude that emanates throughout each of the thirteen songs on their forthcoming self-titled debut. It’s been a long time coming, vocalist/songwriter Eric Savanis wrote the first track in 2011 and released it along with another single a couple of years back. It is now time for a solid offering of his material to be released to the world so that listeners can get lost in the music.
The band’s lyrics usually take a darker turn, approaching murder, disdain for religion and politics, however on “Planet Pisces”, the words stake a journey into the metaphysical as Savanis comments on:
“Students of Astrology know that one of the Piscean traits, that people born under this sign exhibit, is self-deception. Take that concept, blow it up by a thousand and you have Planet Pisces, a tale of insanity and contradictions. Musically there’s punk and some aspects of death metal. The Lord Fez Khan, formerly of Crosstitution, now in Double Cross, guest screams on this song. I don’t see this song as a traditionally sounding single but decided it was better to put something out than nothing at all since we were still looking for a drummer at the time.”
For The Occult, the genesis of the song is usually a vocal melody, in which vocalist/songwriter Eric Savanis tries to pinpoint a mood. Once that occurs the lyrics start to reveal themselves and a symbiosis occurs. It works the same way if the music is written first. If the riffs are dark or heavy, then the lyrical content has to match. Having written all the material for the bulk of eight albums or so, he says that this upcoming record is dark, but does permeate celebratory insanity that is obvious to fans of bands like The Misfits and The Ramones who have a playful yet dark sense of humour.
The gritty and relentless punky rock n’ roll is recommended for fans of Life of Agony, Misfits, and Guns N' Roses.

The Chilean metallers SOBERNOT, which perform a hybrid mix of the bombastic Technical Thrash Metal with lots of Groove, also touches of Latin rhythms and elements of Progressive Metal, have released "Destroy", the long-awaited second album that brings 10 tracks oozing powerful lyrics, choruses to sing along, melody, above average technique, adrenaline and most importantly: lot’s of 'feeling'!
"Destroy" continues on the path paved by 2018's debut album "Silent Conspiracy", keeping the technical, complex and hallucinated riffs as a unique identity, reminding us almost instantly of the genius Jeff Waters (Annihilator), for example. Besides, another remarkable characteristic of their sound is the perfect balance between clean and guttural vocals, which unite aggressiveness and melody.

"We've grown a lot as musicians and songwriters, and that shows up very evident in "Destroy", our "pandemic child", since initially our the idea was to record just an EP. With time to spare on pandemic we created more songs and incorporated many influences, references, different techniques and rhythms that worked perfectly. Thrash, Heavy, Death, Prog, Groove, and even Nu-Metal are easily perceived, which makes it very difficult for those who like to label things (laughs). This album is made and was made by those who really love different kinds of Metal, and with the production by Franco Gabelo, mastering by the renowned Tony Lindgren and cover by Sandeev Reehal I consider it the best work I've recorded so far", commented César "Vaigor" Vigouroux (vocals).

SOBERNOT since its formation in Santiago, Chile, in 2015, has in its discography an EP, and two studio albums, in addition to several singles releases and live albums on digital platforms, so experience they really have to spare. They have already shared the stage with the Americans of Havok in June 2018, with the Spanish thrashers of Crisix in December of the same year, and in the following year shared the same stage with three most emblematic exponents of the world's old school Thrash Metal: At War, Hirax and Exodus! Forged in the mountains of Colorado, Oak, Ash, and Thorn have been spinning epic tales set to melodic death metal since 2018. They have released their second album “To Gaze On Stars of Frost” and now have a music video for the single “Praise Unto the Immortals” ready for eyes and ears. The EP was received well by listeners around the world who appreciated the soaring guitar solos, harmonized vocals, and maturity the band has developed since their previous effort. They explain how their music continues to improve:
"The EP is very special and very meaningful to all of us in Oak, Ash & Thorn. It represents a culmination of the first era of this band, the first three tracks being proper recordings and reworkings of some of our earliest songs. It also serves to mark our path forward, with our first forays into vocal harmonies, and a seriously blazing guitar solo on "Suspended and Frozen" courtesy of Fabian Jiru (Trollfest/Fleshmeadow). The subject matter for most of these songs, meanwhile, is intensely personal to Adam, the vocalist/lyricist, dealing with the death of his father, isolation/addiction, and heartbreak, all through the lens of pagan metaphor. The music reflects that, and it's more somber on the whole than May Every Altar Linger. We remain rooted in melodic black/death metal, but there are more dynamics on display here, more shading, and we feel that these recordings are a distillation of our musical essence, what we've always been about, and where we're going.
Lyrically, “To Gaze On Stars of Frost” is about the old gods, the ancestors, and the struggles that come along with being human. Musically it’s very melodic with three-part harmonies and plenty of blast beats. A formidable group, Oak, Ash, and Thorn stands out from the pack with Cierra White’s unorthodox drumming, Adam Armstrong’s dual clean & growled vocals and the layers of interweaving strings from Erik Hoffman and Jason Harding. The single “Praise unto the Immortals” is about the old gods of the world: the elements. Earth, air, fire, and water, and all their many forms. Musically, it invokes feelings of nostalgia and longing, layered with a healthy dose of aggression.
The album was produced, mixed, and mastered by Fabian Jiru (Trollfest/Fleshmeadow) who also provides a solo on the track “Suspended and Frozen”. The album artwork was done by Adam Armstrong.
Unique and orchestral, Oak, Ash, and Thorn provide a flurry of highs and lows set into a wide range of emotions that are both soothing and inspiring to listen to. They are recommended listening for fans of Borknagar, Tyr, and Immortal.

From the dark woods of southern Sweden, Golgata rose from the ground in 2014 but the story goes deeper than that.
The duo wrote their first tunes of misery back in 1994. After 20 years these lost souls was gathered once again to become vessels for music that will become Golgata. The music is inspired by the history and nature that surrounded the part of Sweden where the duo originates. The music is raw and intense but at the same time melodic and atmospheric. The lyrics are darkly poetic and narrative. With music and lyrics combined Golgata explores the past to describe their view of the modern-day. 2014 the band recorded their first songs and self-released a couple of EPs. But it was 2019 Golgata's first album was released through Satanath record.
On the first full-length album “Skam” 2019 the band followed up their vision to create raw black metal with melodic elements. And with this album, Golgata was shown in the light for a bigger audience.
The second album “Tempel” 2020 was a big leap from the previous album. With this album, the band presented more varying materials with passages that could be described as dreamlike and atmospheric. But the aggression and the rawness were not compromised.
Now 2022 Golgata is back with their most elaborated album so far. The material varies between midtempo, gloomy, and sometimes doomlike passages followed by fast and devastating riffs. The songs are about life journeys, and mankind’s diversity seeking a better life. With their atmospheric soundscape, Golgata will hold you in a grim grip from the first song to the last. This album will take you through fire and ashes as the title in Swedish implies. “Ur eld och aska” is released through Ketzer records in collaboration with Satanath records.

A true visionary is a rare thing, but such a man is Josh Dummer exemplified in his solo studio project Buried Realm. Influenced by personal experience and executed through metaphors, the progressive and heavy metal leaves room for interpretation and paints an interesting picture for listeners.
Inspired by Opeth, Kreator, Old Man’s Child, Symphony X (and tons of old Hair Metal!), Dummer is a man who is not afraid to gaze into the abyss for music and lyrical inspiration. He describes Buried Realm’s music as ‘fierce, cutting, technical, melodic, and memorable.’
Following up on his long-time idea of releasing a solo album, he seized the chance with his first offering “Ichor Carcinoma”. Released in 2017 it features guests such as Christopher Amott (Arch Enemy, Armageddon), Peter Wichers (Soilwork), Teemu Mäntysaari (Wintersun) and Travis Montgomery (Threat Signal, Jeff Loomis band).
In 2020, Dummer released is the follow-up sophomore “Embodiment of the Divine” and while it was parallel to the first, both musically and lyrically, it took a step in a sojourn journey. It featured many guests such as Andy Gillion (Mors Principium Est), Benjamin Ellis (Scar Symmetry), Bob Katsionis (ex-Firewind), Dean Arnold (Primalfrost, Operus, ex-Vital Remains), Lee McKinney (Born of Osiris), Peter Wichers (ex-Soilwork), Rafael Trujillo (ex-Obscura), and Ryan Strain (Chaos For The Masses.
The next chapter in Dummer’s journey is the release of his third self-titled Buried Realm studio album on June 3, 2022. Once again, Dummer has invited many guests on this record with Bob Katsionis (Witch Bones), Christian Münzner (Poison Palace), Christofer Malmström (Elder Gods), Christopher Amott (The Iron Flame/ Quicksand Memory), Dan Swanö (Where the Armless Phantoms Glide) and Dean Arnold (Spectral Light, Primalfrost). The lyrical theme on this full length is about paranormal and psychological twists... mind tricks.
