Emetropia proudly presents information and artwork for their new EP "An Acoustic Endeavor", set to be released on the 24th of March.

An Acoustic Endeavor features four acoustic versions of the most beloved songs from their debut album Equinox, explained by keyboardist Liam:

“We saw this as a chance to push our musical and production skills to the limit by recording symphonic metal songs in musical styles we had never played before! It became something of an acoustic endeavor for all of us; scary yet intriguing.”

The single The Old Gods - Requiem is also available worldwide from the 23rd of February—the anniversary of Equinox—together with a music video.

Vocalist Lisa explains how the requiem version of the song differentiates from the album version:

“We wanted the EP versions to be something new and original, and not simply the same song with acoustic guitars. While the original song is fast and energetic, the lyrics tell a despairing story of never ending suffering, and thus, we felt that a ballad was the perfect fit for The Old Gods. The result is a solemn and mournful, yet beautiful, retelling.“

Frontman Jessy Switchblade shares that ‘My Sweet Apocalypse’ was “originally written by me in 2004, after a rather decadent weekend. I had Rammstein’s ‘Mutter’ as well as Metallica’s ‘Fade To Black’ on repeat. It is a song about imprisonment and the Stockholm Syndrome. I used the Gothic temptress as personification, as I have always enjoyed writing about mysterious Lilith type of figure, however the song can be about anything from substance abuse, straight through to being in love with an abusive, narcissistic partner. It highlights the agony and ecstasy of being gripped by the throes of obsession and addiction, whilst not being able to escape its clutches. It is most probably our most ambitious song to date, and definitely our longest. We debated for ages whether to release it as a single or not, however we felt that this quite possibly could be our magnum opus. so we thought we’d be bold and brazen to release it as the 3rd single from our upcoming ‘Vitriol Inc’ album.”

WRONGFUL DEATH is the second EP by New Hampshire metal outfit Guillotine. Moving away from the thrash sound of the first EP, they introduce new hardcore riffs played in the traditional death metal style, creating their own breed of death metal ferocity.

The first track "Inconceivable" filled with tremolo riffs questions the possibility of life after death, and much like life ends with a fat breakdown. "Act Out" is a song about letting your intrusive thoughts win, those days when one more frustration could make you act out (and hopefully you will to this song). Finally, the title track of the EP "Wrongful Death", a seven-minute opus of solos and breakdowns coming from the point of view of an imprisoned man (Jeffrey Epstein) who knows his terrible life is drawing to a close and reflects on his sins.
